The Hotel Holiday is situated in a quiet place, 8 minutes' walk from Zermatt's center and only 650 feet from the Sunnegga Express, taking you to the Sunnegga, Blauherd and Rothorn mountains.
The ski slope from the Sunnegga down to Zermatt brings you right to the Holiday hotel. The Gornergrat train station and the bus stop to the Klein Matterhorn are as well easily reachable by foot.
The Holiday hotel offers nicely furnished rooms with balconies with elevator access and superb views of the surrounding mountains.
Your host, Denis Matray, an ex-student of the famous chef Paul Bocuse, creates culinary delights of the international and regional cuisine. You can enjoy your meal with a fine wine from the large cellar.
A generous buffet breakfast is served every morning.

Review 1：Only complaint was that it was cloudy the whole 3 days so we didn't get to see the Matterhorn.

Review 3：A great location in summer/autumn. About a 10 minute walk to the centre which is fine when there's no snow, not sure how that would work if there's snow. The hotel has a cute, electric shuttle bus - really good for to and from the station otherwise it's nice to walk.

Review 11：A truly wonderful hotel with very friendly welcoming hosts. The hotel itself looks to be very new or recently renovated. Our room had a private balcony. Everything in the room is ultra modern fitted with flat screen tele, mini fridge and great speed wifi. The whole hotel is spotless. They also have a restaurant where breakfast is served each morning, and a wonderful large selection to choose from. You can also book the restaurant for dinners if you choose. It's about 5-10 minutes from the main train station, and right down the street from Sunnega Funicular. Even with luggage it is VERY easily reached. The last 50 meters is a bit up hill but nothing difficult to walk, even with luggage. They also offer shuttle to and from the train so there is always that option as well.

Review 12：We had great time in Zermatt. Holiday Hotel was perfect for us. We travelled with dogs and they provided us bigger room. I have no complains, very comfortable, very friendly staff and good location. I would definitely choose it again next time.

Review 13：The time of check out is a little bit early at 10:00, but it is possible to leave the luggage at the hotel for some hours.

Review 19：Staff tried to insist I paid in £Sterling and this was the best rate - it would have cost me an additional £8 at their conversion so I refused even though they insisted it had to be charged in £Sterling. I persisted and they eventually charged in local currency. They were not very friendly.

Review 27：Wonderful hotel, quite new with lovely wood throughout and just a charming mountain hotel, worthy of being called a resort but without the "resort" facilities like a spa. Close to the Sunegga lift. The bed are a dream, feather pillow and duvets to snuggle up in. Not quite a view of the Matterhorn but a few steps away the mountain appears. A little bit of a hike from the train station with luggage, but not too much uphill and quite feasible for most people. I would suggest a taxi, at least wqith the luggage for an elderly couple. For skiing, would be a superb location if using Sunegga as it is quite close. This is not in the center of town, but the up side is that it is very peaceful and quiet and a fairly easy walk into town. Loved it and would recommend this hotel as a little treasure to discover. I would definitely go back here again. Much cosier and warm than many Swiss hotels. A real mountain charmer.

Review 28：Would have been nice to know ahead of time that they have free shuttle pickup only from the train station. 15 minutes walk from the train station but the last block after the river is uphill and can be challenging with dragging the luggages up. Should note in their advertisement / hotel description about free pickup only shuttle service .

Review 37：The staff at this hotel were very accommodating of us and arranged an early check in. They were always very friendly, chatty and asking us if we needed anything. The location is great if you want to be close to the sunegga lift although it is perhaps 10-15 minute walk from the main street of Zermatt. This was no problem for us. Rooms were very clean and functional and breakfast was varied and delicious.

Review 39：Nice spacious room with balcony and view of the Matterhorn. Great staff who welcomed our dog with open arms. The restaurant is amazing - still craving the Jugged Venison. The entire hotel is newly renovated, very clean and comfortable - great common area on the main floor.

Review 40：- no kettle, and hot water is to be bought from bar at the cost of 5 franc for one litre. - hotel is about 10mins walk from train station but there were steep slopes on the way, hence not easy when traveling with heavy luggages. Hotel provides transportation to-from train station at 20 franc one way per taxi.
