Reviews for University Inn

Review 1:The owner said pets were not allowed as we were checking out. I told him, the site said "pet-friendly" when I reserved it. He got angry and said I was lying. Also. the owner did not say the entrance gate was going to be locked at sunset. This created some confusion, as to how to get back into the property, after dark.

Review 2:The breakfast area was basically the front office, which was pretty small. Having breakfast there was not an inviting proposition.

Review 3:Location was great. Room was adequate and very clean.

Review 4:The staff was very helpful and friendly, giving us advice on restaurants and other things in the area. While a basic motel with no frills, the rooms were large, comfortable, and very clean. The motel looks well taken care of.

Review 5:The park in front of the hotel is a hobo park. As two women who did walk past the park at night to get back from the bus, we were nervous but nothing happened. We were only asked once for change at the major intersection on Speedway.

Review 6:Close to buses going N/S//E/W. Had low expectations for the price but nothing unpleasant to report, everything was alright. Not excellent, but alright. Wi-fi was pretty good speed. Helpful staff. They keep the breakfast filled until the end of set time.

Review 7:The walls between rooms and the ceiling of the first floor rooms require additional sound insulation.

Review 8:The nightly rate was low and the rooms were clean.

Review 9:Sound transmission between rooms was perhaps the only minor issue, but I have experienced far worse in places where I paid much more.

Review 10:Very clean and relatively new feeling room with a great location in Tucson. Good internet, lots of hot water and a pool at a very affordable price.

Review 11:Everything. Extremely rude owners and management, I watched them screamat guests trying to check out and were very unfriendly. I'll nevergo back and wouldn't recommend this to my enemies.

Review 12:Nothing. The staff was extremely rude to fellow guests. I saw manyguests harassed with the management going door to door asking weirdquestions and at one point they called my room phone to ask if I wantedto switch rooms and if I knew the guests upstairs. It was uncomfortable.

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:The location is great, next to the Bank of America, 2 miles to the University, clean rooms and super fast internet, the best thing in the hotel is 'raj' the propriety manger, he helped me a lot and showed me the place and make it easier for me as an international traveler, he's the man for everything you need, toke me for shopping, showed me the best apartments in the place, if there's a reason for me coming back to the place, it will be that man.

Review 15:Walls are a bit thin, as we could hear our very loud neighbors too clearly.

Review 16:The staff is very friendly. The location is just blocks from the University. The A/C works great. Felt safe here.

Review 17:There was no coffee in the room. Next year I will choose a hotel that at least has coffee makers available.

Review 18:Personnel was courteous and professional and it was quiet.

Review 19:The Inn is very near to UA which was good for both my wife and I since our son started the Fall 2015 semester 2 weeks ago. Extremely nice staff. Clean rooms. Strong A/C which is desperately needed in Tucson! Overall, this is a very nice Inn. My wife and I will be back here again in the future.

Review 20:Pool could have stayed open past 10pm

Review 21:Harry,at check in desk, was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for my needs. The swim pool was a blessing.Great value

Review 22:Our room did not get cleaned during our first day, but we were also in it until noon and back again in the late afternoon.

Review 23:Very friendly staff, clean up-to-date room and bathroom

Review 24:There was no bad experience--The only thing I would suggest is that you put a smaller table in the room Otherwise it was perfect.

Review 25:The room was real nice & clean & so was the bathroom. It was quiet----The staff was friendly and they had a nice continental breakfast.

Review 26:The complimentary breakfast was very limited but that could be that the breakfast bar was also next to the front desk.

Review 27:Close to the University, wonderful hip restaurants that cater to even the pickiest eaters.

Review 28:I stayed here two weekends in a row, and will continue to do so if the quality and cost remain a value. It is close to my destination when I am in town. I recommended it to friends and they too stayed here when they returned.

Review 29:Bathroom toilet small for tall people and no safety handrail in tub.

Review 30:Very comfortable, clean beds, I slept like a baby! Staff was friendly & accommodating.

Review 31:Breakfast is very simple e.g. no milk products. You can get it at the reception.

Review 32:Friendly man from India at the reception. Hotel is clean and has sufficient facilities for a low price.

Review 33:The parking lot is small.

Review 34:Liked the convenience of being close to the University where we attended our daughters graduation. And that the manager worked with me to book an extra room for us when there was only 2 rooms available when I booked online.

Review 35:I felt extra cautious because of the abundance of homeless people Sleeping in the park across the street

Review 36:The location near University of Arizona is great. Staff was fantastic. Complementary breakfast, swimming pool. Comfy beds and refrigerator and microwave it's all good.

Review 37:Needed early breakfast, by 6a and it was only provided at office between 7a and 9am. No coffee pot in rm. noisy people outside room after midnight.

Review 38:Mgr. was helpful and kind, but didn't offer coffee pot At registration, regular day mgr. said it was available.

Review 39:The only thing I can mention here is that when we left at 7 in the morning there was no coffee available yet because the owners were not working yet - and Im someone who can't go without coffee. But that really was the only negative thing I remember.

Review 40:The first time I was in Tucson, the University Inn didn't show up on my booking.com App, so we never stayed there. All the other motels were horrible, so I kind of started to despise Tucson all together. But when we returned and finally slept in the University Inn I must really say, this was one of the finest and best motels I have slept in the whole South of Arizona. Everything is clean and I think new renovated, the location is nice - its pretty much as good as a motel can get! Also a very clean, kind of new looking bathroom. GREAT!

Review 41:In the morning my feet were actually black! From the filthy dark blue carpet-evidently, the carpet is never cleaned-gross!

Review 42:It appeared clean everywhere except...

Review 43:Nothing.

Review 44:Really friendly helpful staff. Nice decor and comfortable. Able to walk into town to eat and the right side of town to drive via Speedway and Gates Pass to the Museum.

Review 45:No complaints.

Review 46:Clean rooms, bathroom with window, comfortable bed, friendly staff, good Wifi, good price. Location isn't scenic, but good access to everything. Checked out the breakfast but went to the Best Western motel across the street with good selection and friendly waiter. Coin washer on the second floor that works surprisingly well.

Review 47:Bottom of our feet got dirty just walking around the room. The room was tight but we only stayed one night.

Review 48:Loved the bed. Great support with a soft pillow top. Quiet neighborhood. Could hear a train in the distance during the night, just like home. Fresh fruit offered for continental breakfast. Coffee.

Review 49:Nothing bad about the place.

Review 50:Everything seems brand new. It's not a new hotel, but the owner just really keeps up with refurbishing. Convenient to 4th Ave, U of A and downtown. Extremely comfortable beds. Good breakfast selection, much better than the usual bad coffee and stale doughnuts.

Review 51:Continental breakfast consisted of coffee, toast and cold breakfast in the office area standing up or take to your room. We went out for breakfast. Would not recommend if you expect better value for your money. Room was quite small.

Review 52:There is a park beside the hotel where there are some homeless people. The area does not seem very safe & it's not well lit. The room is very old and the floor area near bathroom is dirty, it seems they never mop the floor.

Review 53:It is a 25 minutes walking distance to the University of Arizona. The room is equipped with a microwave and fridge. They also provide a very basic breakfast menu with bread, cereal, donuts, orange juice, coffee & tea.

Review 54:Top sheet/pad on bed came loose while turning in bed. Nothing in shower to hold on to while washing legs and feet.

Review 55:Room layout and cleanliness. Facilities. Good use of space.

Review 56:The breakfast (continental) was not adequate. Not much selection. The coffee was extremely weak.

Review 57:Convenient location in the university area in Tucson.

Review 58:Breakfast bar was very poorly stocked and was one of the reasons we picked the Inn, since it had a free one. Carpets were filthy.

Review 59:Beds were clean. Room was cozy.

Review 60:The room refrigerator never got cold.

Review 61:Very clean. The owner (I think) suggested a restaurant to accommodate my veganism, then called to see if it was open. Quiet and comfortable! Very nice experience.

Review 62:This was a very basic motel, without any extra amenities. However, the room was of good size, comfortable, and very clean. Since the only room left was on the second floor and there was no elevator, the staff insisted on carrying all our bags to our room. They were friendly and very helpful in finding a restaurant. I would stay here again.

Review 63:Bathroom did not have bars near tub, very poor for seniors. Did not have adequate soap. Towels were not that great. Noisy at night. Breakfast was not adequate and did not have tables where you could sit down. Budget place and should be a lower price.

Review 64:Location was excellent.

Review 65:breakfasts: 1) are too basic, and there was literally nothing for me to eat, no eggs or yogurts, 2) there is no place to seat and eat – you must take the food with you in your room, 3) they serve it only until 9-30 even on weekends! when i went there at 9-30 on Saturday there was already nothing...

Review 66:everything except breakfasts is good!

Review 67:Good - location easy to find and convenient to get to and from main roads. Room was quiet (except for AC), bed was comfortable and bathroom clean. Value for money.

Review 68:limited breakfast. It was done in their small lobby. Need a separate area. Breakfast is a big plus for travellers.

Review 69:closeness to University of Arizona and the center of town.

Review 70:TV is old and picture is bad Sink drain very slow No lotion provided No extra blanket Homeless people hanging out at park across street

Review 71:Friendliness of owner Value Proximity to U of A Air conditioning system Refrigerator Room and parking lot very clean Bottled water available in office

Review 72:The AC was a bit noisy.

Review 73:The place has a great location, very close to downtown. It's is clean and comfortable. The microwave and fridge are very handy. Couldn't ask for more and the price is very affordable.

Review 74:washing machine worked, but did not clean very well.

Review 75:very friendly and helpful personnel. all round a clean and neat place. nice pool to cool down in the heat. parking spaces

Review 76:noisy airconditioner. front staff did not immediately return my driver's license which i accidentally left on their desk when i checked in. got it back 2 days later. anyway, he apologized.

Review 77:safe location. close to major attractions, e.g. 30-minute drive to the saguaro national park & the arizona desert museum, must-see places. immaculately clean. friendly staff. lots of places to eat around the hotel. adequate breakfast.

Review 78:I think that the Wi-Fi could have been a little faster, but since you didn't have to pay for it, this was minor issue with us

Review 79:The staff was very courteous, helpful and went out of their way to accommodate. Continental breakfast was a surprise and good. My car battery died and the manager at the front desk allowed me to stay I my room and offered refreshments.

Review 80:The noises from other rooms when shutting their doors. The room did not have a working phone or remote. We moved to another room and the TV there started smoking when I turned it on. The continental breakfast was stale donuts, warm juice, and toast. The pool was not clean enough to swim in. The bed was uncomfortable.

Review 81:location. I wanted to be close to the University. The room had a hair dryer.

Review 82:The signal for the Wi-Fi could only be picked up in the bathroom, but it was not such a big issue. It would not prevent me from going back.

Review 83:I spent a week at University Inn to help my son moving from his dorm into a townhouse. University Inn is perfectly located, simple but comfortable, A/C works like a charm, the staff was particularly helpful, especially that I had made multiple bookings and forgot to cancel one, which overlapped with my stay. The manager cancelled that overlapping booking and did not charge me for that. Thank you so much! The room comes with a microwave and a fridge, which is a great convenience. Definitely a go-to hotel for UoA parents!!

Review 84:No lock on bathroom door, no soap, strange stain on one bed, strange key needed to open hotel door (not typical card key), unable to choose preferred room

Review 85:Free wi-fi, mini-fridge, self-controlled air conditioner, comfortable beds, microwave, plastic cups, ice machine downstairs

Review 86:Staff were very helpful, needed a corkscrew they had this,I needed a launderette ,they guided me to this, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, will come back and highly recommend a place to stay.

Review 87:Needs a better remote and some premium channels

Review 88:Good location to the college area--clean- quiet!

Review 89:room was clean and comfortable. breakfast was minimal but at least there was something. the pool is nice but unheated and no hot tub.

Review 98:No restaurant or store in the neighborhood.

Review 99:Close to the center of the city. Friendliness of stuff. Good internet access.

Review 100:The place was clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced. I've paid a lot more for rooms that weren't nearly as clean and comfortable.

Review 101:A very small toilet seat fit only for small kids. Beds were lumpy.

Review 102:Close proximity to the place where we needed to be.

Review 103:Location, room itself, helpfulness of people in charge.

Review 104:It is a good enough place for what you pay. Clean but not sparkling clean. Comfortable, but not incredibly comfortable. Average motel.

Review 105:Convenient location within walking distance (20 minutes) of campus. Very reasonable rate. Simple breakfast (OJ, coffee, pastries, cereal).

Review 106:The helpfulness of the staff and the size of the room and it's cleanliness. Plus it was quiet!!!

Review 107:Very comfortable room and very nice staff.

Review 108:Reception would only give two keys for a room of four people - slightly inflexible.

Review 109:Very standard motel. Good value and clean.
