Reviews for La Posada Lodge and Casitas
Review 1:Rain shower head not my cup of tea, was noise coming from room next door and they weren't all that loud so fairly thin walls.
Review 2:Restaurants close by including one on site, heated outdoor pool was great, staff was friendly, breakfast was very good.
Review 3:The restaurant and the free breakfast was what I expected, simple but again service was bad had to ask for plastic wear and water was out, understaffed.
Review 4:The staff in the hotel (desk)was great! The issue was with the restaurant, very slow service and pricey. We dined there twice and service was very slow and also abserved workers on cell phone !
Review 5:Because 1 wall is all windows, I could hear children that were playing outside screaming and yelling. It was hard to take a nap. Bathrooms need to be updated.
Review 6:The comfort of the bed and the size of the room
Review 7:Heater/air conditioner was very loud when shutting down. Did not like the paint coming off the bath room walls.
Review 8:The restaurant was the best, best, best, the staff very personble. The chef here is the best had over 5 meals here, every meal was superb!
Review 9:little too much street noise from main road outside they could use better insulated doors or soundproofing
Review 10:very nice grounds friendly staff great spa and swimming pool
Review 11:Bathroom was small.Towels were rough! l ! Fridge didn't work! Breakfast was disappointing ! No bagels or egg substitute! Waffles were cold & muffins were not very tasty! No one available to serve!
Review 12:Beautiful grounds! Room & decor was nice! Did not get a chance to use pool Nice staff!
Review 13:Electric plugs need fixing. Fire alarm needs fixing. Short of available electric sockets. Bathroom counter top to small.
Review 14:Staff was wonderful. Grounds are beautiful. Would stay here again.
Review 15:Most of the outdoor lights were burned out on the trees by the pool. There wasn't a very bright light in the hot tub, it looked very dark at night. The breakfast would have been better if the eggs were not over cooked and if there was some sausage or bacon included.
Review 16:Loved the pool, hot tub and grounds. The bed was super comfy. Like that there was a breakfast included.
Review 17:Not a bad experience, but I would wish that the movies-on-demand were available.
Review 18:The views from the balcony were great for seeing the Catalina skyline and to watch the sunrises. I also like the privacy in this unit (212).
Review 19:The bathrooms were disappointing, not matching when compared to the rest of the property. The landscaping was beautiful. A little "Disney-ing up" with the lighting would have really tipped the scale even more upwards with the outdoor scenery.
Review 20:Building appearance and landscaping.
Review 21:The hotel was quiet, well kept, and had beautiful views--provided you took advantage of the interior courtyard, pool, and restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 22:We loved the charm of the folkloric art, hand painted Mexican tile in the bathroom and on the sink, the silver hammered bed headboard and mirror, the white comfy comforters and pillows, the deck with view of the 6am sunrise over the hills, and the size of the room. Also, the convenience and excellent margaritas at the onsite restaurant/bar with view over the pool and mountains. Staff very helpful and cheerful at all hours.
Review 23:Completely wonderful experience. Mattie (or maybe Maddie) from the front desk could not have been nicer and more helpful - and I MEAN could NOT have been - she was vital to our enjoyment during our stay (my wife and I's 30th wedding anniversary) that we cannot express it. If there was another property in that area that we knew of that was completely at a par with yours, Mattie would be the determining factor for where we would stay. And the rest of the staff was kind and attentive and friendly as well. But, hands down, Mattie was the star.
Review 24:We had trouble with TV channels, but the staff did try to resolve that issue while we were there.
Review 25:We liked everything - grounds are beautiful, our room was spacious and just outside was a patio with table/chairs - plus not far from the pool. There is also an onsite restaurant where I had the best meal - made with roasted pablano peppers.
Review 26:Rooms were very noisy from the street , large gaps around doors (main door and slider). Beds were to soft. Very dated.
Review 27:The staff was very friendly and helpful
Review 28:Absolutely the best! The staff was much more than friendly they made you feel welcome and cared for at all times. The pool area was superb. The grounds were very well kept and the rooms were clean and quiet. Cannot find one thing to complain about.
Review 29:The grounds were beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The room was beautiful and very unique, though a bit on the old/shabby side.
Review 30:Didn't realize it was a motel. The beds were a little hard. The vending machines should take debit cards. The front of the hotel could be lit up a little better at night, easy to miss.
Review 31:The charming feel of the hotel. The view from the balcony was pretty amazing along with the pleasant desert nighttime breeze. The complimentary breakfast on the outdoor patio was a highlight. The lobby was very welcoming and the lime cilantro water was a nice touch and very addicting ;) !!!
Review 32:Their restaurant comparatively pricey, but nothing special.
Review 33:The hotel was quite new, spacious room, nice breakfast. Loved the warm pool. Usually we were the only ones using it.
Review 34:Only one electrical outlet for charging of electronical devices and it was under the writing desk which made it difficult for someone like me who is recovering from a knee replacement.
Review 35:Room was nice, grounds were gorgeous, view from room of the mountains was great, close to other dining establishments.
Review 36:The room was cozy but just needed a little more elbow room. The balcony did not have an electrical outlet. Orange drink was not orange juice.
Review 37:Coziness atmosphere. Well manicured/maintained property. Not located near national commercialized motels/hotels. A place to get away but not yet away.
Review 38:PAID FOR TWO BREAKFASTS AND IT WAS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!! YOU COULD GAIN A LOT OF POINTS IF THE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD AND YOU HAD A CHEF THAT WOULD COULD GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO PROVIDE SERVICE TO ITS CUSTOMERS, NOT MUCH SELECTION, COLD EGGS, TOAST POOR AND NO INTER ACTION WITH A CHEF THAT WAS THERE JUST WATCHING!! IT WOULD BE NICE IF CHEF OFFERED TO COOK SOME THING HOT TO THE CUSTOMERS....
Review 39:The bed was like sleeping on a box spring. Not to mention the TV, the cable reception was horrible.
Review 40:The view was great from the balcony! The breakfast was outstanding!
Review 41:Don't like the outside rooms. If you are going to stay at La posada then you must go for the Casitas.
Review 42:Great staff. They made extra effort to make sure you are comfortable.
Review 43:friendly staff......room good size......good comp breakfast.......outdoor pool/spa very good.....good location.......casitas look interesting.......value was good
Review 44:hmmmm...nothing
Review 45:The beds and linens looked and smelled clean as did the multiple (thanks) pillows. The bathroom, though small, had a great shower and was nice and clean
Review 46:I called the desk clerk to inform them that we were coming in late & was told I didn't have a reservation, very upsetting!
Review 47:We got the best sleep! They have the most comfortable beds!
Review 48:I wish the rooms had tubs and not just a shower but it's a small price to pay.
Review 49:I love this hotel, the location is near some great restaurants and the mall. The rooms are comfortable and feel more like home than a hotel. The pool is nice and staff is very friendly and helpful. Higher floors have golf course views and all of the rooms have a small fridge and microwave.
Review 50:Not enough electrical outlets. My husband needs to use his portable oxygen. That created some problems for him.
Review 51:The quiet, the staff, (including service for room,) were very helpful.
Review 52:The restaurant attached has a very limited menu so we found it necessary to look around for other brkfst /lunch/dinner options for the 3 days we were there.
Review 53:Clean enough, quiet in the back Casitas. Disappouinted that it was not just against the Catalina moutains or more land of some sort.It did have a nice parkway between Casitas but very limited.
Review 54:Tucson at 115 degrees was pretty hot... A/C unit and overhead fan both seemed to be set on low and could not turn them up...not sure if this was intentional or not but will not return in the summer....
Review 55:Rooms ( we had a Casa) are comfortable and decorated beautifully.... everyone was extremely nice and helpful... dinner in the restaurant was a very pleasant experience and the food was delicious ...
Review 56:Breakfast was good, except there was no meat.
Review 57:The vintage room was beautiful with a great view! The location is perfect for easy access to necessities and exploring.
Review 58:The air conditioning units are very loud! The regular size rooms are small.
Review 59:Everyone is very friendly, the hotel is very lovely and the restaurant is good!
Review 60:Light in bathroom not functional - I reported it and nothing was done. Room was fine for one person but would have been cramped if there were more.
Review 61:Excellent location, comfortable bed, room quiet even though motel fronts on a very busy road. The staff was very helpful - this was my first time in Tucson and they gave me a lot of good insights into restaurants, entertainment, and hiking in the area.
Review 62:To close to a major street, but still didn't hear any noise pollution.
Review 63:Even though the area is a little busy, as its right off of a major street, you cannot hear any of it. The bed is to die for!!!
Review 64:Breakfast is ok. Missing the bacon! Don't like the location of shower window. Make sure its closed!
Review 65:Clean rooms, very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere about the place.
Review 66:Breakfast was never pleasant: dirty and unkept food area, egg tray was constantly refilled but on top of leftover eggs! Coffee dispensers unmarked, had to remind cook (he was only employee around) that we needed plates, etc.,etc.
Review 67:First time in a motel/hotel that drinking glasses (glass or plastic) were not provided by the establishment in my room. The Gringo restaurant was very disappointing.
Review 68:The grounds were very nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The free continental breakfast was good.
Review 69:While I could receive a Wi-Fi signal, I could not login using any of three different browsers. (Firefox, Safari, Chrome). We also would have enjoyed feather pillows. The pillows provided gave my wife a stiff neck and a headache. I requested feather pillows and was told you did not have them.
Review 70:I liked the location and the friendliness of the staff.
Review 71:Motel style hotel (door opens to the outside) on a busy street. Door and window provide very little noise reduction. Felt like I was camping on the street. The AC was very noisy and turned on/off every couple minutes.
Review 72:Nice pool area. Nice breakfast area.
Review 73:It's a little noisy in the regular rooms coming from the street, which is a very busy 6 lane street.
Review 74:the grounds are beautiful. My room had a roomy balcony overlooking the grounds.
Review 75:Furniture and fixtures were old and in some cases broken. Closet door kept falling off. This is my only issue. My wife and I stayed for six nights and were very happy with our choice. We look forward to another stay.
Review 76:Restaurant was great, bar was great, staff was great, room was clean, grounds were exceptional
Review 77:The wi-fi is not secure but it's fast.
Review 78:We had lots to do in Tucson and it was super easy to get everywhere we wanted. The place is so nice I wish we'd had more time by the pool though!
Review 79:We had to request another room since the bathroom had a bad smell, and it got really bad the next morning. Had to call room services, just to have our second room cleaned. The time we called was after 5:00 pm.
Review 80:There was nothing to like. Breakfast was a joke......
Review 81:Put syrup on table for waffles and keep the coffee brewing for folks from the cold northern parts.
Review 82:The staff was helpful and accommodated every request with friendliness and efficiency. Appreciated the morning breakfasts. What a nice way to begin the day with others attending same event.
Review 83:Seemed like the rug in the lobby was pretty dirty and stained.
Review 84:I loved the rustic southwest look of the room. Very unique. The balcony with a view of the court yard and the mountains was wonderful.
Review 85:Nothing really. Just that the rooms were a little outdated.
Review 86:I liked the atmosphere the grounds the decor. The rooms were a little outdated but clean. This was a beautiful place to stay. The office management were extremely friendly and the restaruant was amazing! The way they served their food was very unique and the workers were amazing. Thank you La Posada for a great New Years Eve!!!
Review 87:The hot break fast was good, but I wish there was a little more variation (I stayed for four days, and it was always eggs and potatoes).
Review 88:The hotel architecture (adobe style), rooms with little patios/balconies, fabulous view, close to shops, restaurants.
Review 89:The restaurant for breakfast was in need of better management. Just a little more consistency...condiments, bussing tables etc.
Review 90:The pool and grounds were excellent. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Housekeeping was great!
Review 91:For 110 dollars a day, I felt there should of been more space in the room .......comfortable chairs and more bathroom space.......if your charging the same as the hilton....make it feel like it..........
Review 92:I felt like I was in the old west......meaning the amenities too.
Review 93:The music from the bar and the bar patrons were really loud on Saturday night.
Review 94:The over all experience at La Posada Lodge and Casitas was awesome. Everything was top notch from the personnel at the front desk to the quality of the room. The location was perfect since family were staying close by and the wedding was only 10 or so minutes away. We will definitely stay there again and would recommend to any one that will be traveling to Tucson.
Review 95:Although we appreciated the hot breakfast every morning, not being a real egg lover, I wished there could have been waffle or pancakes one day. That being said, there were many cold items, pastries, breads, cereals, yogurt and fruit that was offered and delicious coffee!!!
Review 96:Room was very comfortable and quiet (even though I had read that it wasn't!) Pool was lovely. The staff, from front desk, to waiters in Gringo were warm, informative and helpful! Loved my stay here!
Review 97:I did not enjoy the company of ants in my bed or around the night stand. The furniture was a little rough up and I understand they were trying to get the old west feel. The foyer was a little crowded and small due the the type of furniture they had.
Review 98:I enjoyed the scenery and the atmosphere.
Review 99:I can't think of something I did not like.
Review 100:I loved everything from the front desk clerks to the beautiful room and privacy balcony. The beds were comfortable and it was so quiet. I think it may even have had a salt water pool...it was wonderful either way, the pool was great and the breakfast was nice.
Review 101:Jose at front desk was not friendly. Bathroom was a little small.
Review 102:Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable. Grounds and landscaping were very nice. Hotel Layout was good. Overall experience was great.
Review 103:Not enough electrical outlets and the ones available not conviently useful. Also the air conditioning unit kept blowing the drapes up making sleeping late impossible because the sun shining into the room.
Review 104:What a lovely lodge setting. We had a room on the third floor which had a wonderful view from the nice size balcony. With rustic decor, a fridge and microwave in the room we were very comfy. Also, a beautiful pool area made for nice recreation. Wish we could have stayed longer, will definetly return!
Review 105:The issue was, it was a very hot day, and the casita's air conditioner was not performing well, was quite uncomfortable, we were moved to another casita, which was better, however, and tolerable, however, the AC could barely keep up even in the "new" room, and struggled to cool the main room, and didn't do much to cool the bathroom and dressing area.
Review 106:Liked the grounds, casita had a backyard
Review 107:TV didn't work at all at first, then not well even after someone came in to fix. Hair dryer did not work. Key card did not work in one of the pool gates. Out of pool towels at 6:00 PM.
Review 108:Friendly, competent staff. Really good breakfast eggs.
Review 109:First night was spent in a room on the side facing the busy road. Kind of noisy, but Jorge moved us to a Casita for the next two nights. Very comfortable there. Breakfast was lacking some meat portions. Lots of eggs and breads etc. Could have used more protein.
Review 110:Good location for our housing search. Easy to find and easy to access from a busy road. Staff was great. Especially Jorge at the front desk. Will use LaPosada in the future.
Review 111:On some days the breakfast was not quite as versatile as on others. The writing desk was right next to the air conditioner, forcing me to wear a long-sleeved shirt while using my laptop!
Review 112:Great location on the Catalina foothills - good views, but still close enough to the city.
Review 113:Although the location was slightly remote, it was easily accessible and the views were great. The breakfast was quite ample, although it varied in quality somewhat from one day to another.
Review 114:The size of the room was disappointing, however, given the age of this hotel this is understandable. still a great place to stay for the location.
Review 115:The comfort of the facilities was very good. Clean and very quiet. The breakfast was very good. The pool was very nice and our grandson loved it.
Review 116:Only thing i can think of is my cell phone doesn't get great signal in the room but it's fine out by the pool or on the terrace.
Review 117:Just about everything. It feels like an almost-private retreat. Great value. Nice buffet breakfast.
Review 118:Nothing.
Review 119:It's lovely! Clean, we'll appointed, great pool, delicious breakfast. One of the best places I've stayed in a long time, especially for the price.
Review 120:I would have preferred a tub instead of just a shower.
Review 121:Breakfast was great. View spectacular!
Review 122:Buffet breakfast was average, rooms were a bit small.
Review 123:Loved the hot tub and heated pool!
Review 124:Nothing
Review 125:Convient easy to find food good
Review 126:No exhaust ventilation in the bathroom
Review 127:Just about everything
Review 128:The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I wish I could have stayed another day to fully enjoy the facility.
Review 129:There were a couple flies in the room but that wasn't a big deal.
Review 130:Great restaurant. Friendly staff and nice rooms.
Review 131:THE STAFF AND ENVIRONMENT ARE EXCEPTIONAL
Review 132:Not always clean in certain spots
Review 133:Nice staff, beautiful overlook and nice patio area, comfortable bed, slept well
Review 134:A little noisy from the road
Review 135:The interesting decor and it's proximity to where we wanted to visit
Review 136:bad lighting in kitchen area towels were rough
Review 137:location breakfast great bed
