Review 1：Room location was a total disgrace. We had to go and tell the receptionist to keep quiet during the night not once but a few times. The noise levels were beyond normal decibels for any open place. We notified them 6 the next morning we would like to check out and have our money returned for the extra two nights. We told then that "we were told there is no refunds" and that is a lie not once did the lady said anything like that when she show ed us the room. We were offered another room but another resident on the opposite of the building also complained at 5 that morning to the receptionist about the noise and now they wanted to move us to that side. We'll we received no refund but was treated like we were the people in the wrong. I will never ever recommend this place to stay there are much better places to stay...we did find a gem of a place to stay in the end

Review 5：cleanliness of the room was not up to scratch. the place needs a renewal and major renovations. no Air-con and the fan in the room was broken - although the ever helpful staff did provide a portable fan.

Review 7：booked room for 4 adults but was given a room for the 3 they had to bring in an additional sleeper couch for the 4th person. booking.com profiles don't match the reality. Room was supposed to have 2x single beds and 1 double but it had 1 single and 1 double. Room and bathroom cleanliness could be better. no air-conditioning and non-functional room fan. although the staff did try to help by providing a small replacement fan but that was still in adequate. Rooms and building is a bit dilapidated and in need of serious renovations.

Review 9：Staff were unprofessional and inefficient. Place was filthy and not well maintained. There's really absolutely nothing that we liked or enjoyed about the place. I wouldn't give it a single point.

Review 14：The unit (BF12) is not elderly friendly. It has a lot of 'steps' which are not marked, eg.'Mind your step'. It is a hazard because the tiles are the same and difficult to see the step. I had to place my scarf to mark.

Review 15：The friendliness of the staff, especially Thandeka. She is THE asset to that establishment. I've read reviews about her online, but had to see for myself. She is not doing it for the sake of reviews, she 's a natural. I hope the management acknowledges that.

Review 37：We had an amazing few days at Ecotel Benoni. Its central situated with lots of emenities nearby. Friendly staff greeted my family especially Brilliant. Unfortunately we only had two days to stay in J/Burg. Would definately stay there again.

Review 38：Breakfast We were not informed that some of the people in our group would be accommodated in room across the road. Kitchen Facilities at rooms across the road from main guest house were poor. Need to give guests a remote for rooms across the road.

Review 39：Friendly Staff. Family rooms are a good option for two people if space is important to you. Rooms across the road are a fair size. We slept comfortably on clean bedding.

Review 40：The room should have had a little kitchenette. Hanging space for clothes not enough. We had the room on the right hand side of the reception and the mornings are very noisy. Receptionist was extremely loud and disturbing.

Review 54：Bathrooms very poor and not clean, bath with shower head but no real shower. Very dated which made it difficult to keep clean. Door to the room was very flimsy, kept banging through out the date and it sounded like someone wanted to break in. Smoke alarm battery in the hall way was on the way out and kept beeping every five minutes through out the night. We had arranged breakfast for 6.30am to catch an early flight but it was not ready until 6.50am (did offer a discount which was welcomed). Just very poor overall.

Review 106：1. Lack of working Internet facility. 2. Would recommend that you liaise with AlwaysOn to set up proper internet facility. The system that is available is useless. 3. Also, please provide self-catering Tea/Coffee facilities in the rooms. 4. The coin operated tea/coffee dispensing machine has issues if one has no coins to use. 5. Please allow for one payment if more than one guest is using simple payment, e.g. Credit Card or Debit Card. We had to run the Debit Card twice for the two guests. Not that it was an incovenience but was not necessary.

Room Facilities: Garden view, Terrace, TV, Desk, Fan, Wardrobe/Closet, Clothes rack, Toilet, Bathroom, Bath or Shower, Dining area, Electric kettle, Kitchenware, Toaster, Barbecue, Outdoor furniture, Outdoor dining area, Wake-up service, Towels, Linen, Entire unit located on ground floor Room Size: 22 m² Bed Size(s): 1 sofa bed, 2 large double beds" This to me was false advertising as there was no Garden view, Terrace, Dining area, Electric kettle, Kitchenware, Toaster, Fridge Barbecue, Outdoor furniture, Outdoor dining area, This was to me problematic as we have young children and I did not compensate for the fact that we would have no kettle or fridge or any of the things advertised. When looking at the advertisement one gets the impression that it is "unit" not a small room. We bought food and drinks before we went it, but it was of no use. We had the impression that we would be able to dine in our room and that he kids would have a garden to play in while we keep an watchful eye out sitting on the terrace. There was none of that we were crammed in a small room with a fan that would even move the air. The garden was a very small 2x2 area at the back of the house no where close to our room. It was a big disappointment as we had the expectation of a big room with all the facilities we were looking for.
