Reviews for Edgewater Inn

Review 1:being picky.... maybe parking was a little tight. But no incidents.

Review 2:Best 5 star hotel I've stayed at in the past few years... At least this seemed like it was :)

Review 3:It is an older motel that has been renovated. Still a little rough around the edges.

Review 4:Location was great! Just over the bridge, right on the water.Parking & breakfast was a plus.

Review 5:Our room was located off the main patio so we didn't have direct access to the river.

Review 6:We were a bit disappointed that it was located on the other side of the bridge but got over it as soon as we realized that the shops and restaurants were actually right over the bridge. We were able to walk to everything. Coincidentally, we were also there for the annual Christmas boat parade so, with the hotel being located right on the water, we had an unobstructed view from the extended patio area. The hotel also had free hors d'oeuvres and wine for the guests which is a daily occurrence. That was a nice touch. We loved the cleanliness and updated decor of the rooms.

Review 7:Annoying heater. Noisy when on. Had to restart a few times as it sometimes got chilly in room and we realized it had turned off.

Review 8:Ease of parking. Nice breakfast. Lovely view of city.

Review 9:They need curtains! The room was bright all night, and the bed was soft. Great place to stay but not to sleep

Review 10:Location is great, room was nice. Rocking chairs on the deck were so relaxing.

Review 11:Great location, super clean and updated rooms. All the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese a nice touch. Will stay here again.

Review 12:The staff is wonderfull. They deserve a score of 11/10. Everyday they have "social hour", were the hotel offers you a free drink (or 2,3)and a snack. St Augustine is just across the bridge and the view from the terrace is wonderful. I would recommend it to everybody. The rooms are large and clean. The hotel offers free cold waterbottles and ice. The breakfast is exellent.

Review 13:The location was brilliant, the room and shower room was fantastic. We opened the door and sat out on the decking over looking the water front, the lights across the water were magical,. fantastic experience. The cleanliness was super , and the breakfast egg and bacon casserole was lovely and all in the price.

Review 14:Loved this Inn. It was clean, comfortable and very convenient for walking to historic Saint Augustine. It has an awesome view of the water and city. Also it included a great breakfast.

Review 15:A bit expensive especially since the room was facing a back street.

Review 16:Very friendly staff. Nice, clean, quiet room and remodelled bathroom. Walking distance from OldTown. Home cooked breakfast in a beautifully decorated dining room with a view of the Bridge of Lions..

Review 17:We liked everything about it!

Review 18:The location/view was perfect. The room was very clean, comfortable and modern. The staff was so nice and the breakfast and social hour were great! Can't beat it, especially for the price!

Review 19:This place was very clean and quiet. Just over Lion bridge. So not right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of St. Augustine. We loved it here. And would definitely return.

Review 20:I felt the room charges were high compared to the room size. The hotel was nice and clean but did not offer many amenities.

Review 21:The staff was very nice and professional. I loved the view during breakfast and afternoon socials.

Review 22:Great location and superb staff. Clean and comfortable overall. Relatively small apartment compared to some and breakfast facilities fairly basic but more than compensated by overwhelmingly friendly and helpful staff

Review 23:Having to leave to go home.

Review 24:The staff was ever so willing to accommodate. They truly enjoyed having guests. Loved sitting out on the deck morning and night. Such a peaceful start and end to each day.

Review 25:The fact that there are no curtains is surprising and disappointing. The exterior lights are always left on, and shine through the windows and shutters all night long, making it difficult/impossible to sleep at night.

Review 26:I love the location, the view, and the staff. It's a beautiful little Inn and we loved staying there.

Review 27:The welcome and overall service was excellent. Sue went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The complimentary breakfast and happy hour were a nice surprise. Lovely position on the river with great views and a short walk over the bridge to restaurants, bars and atmospheric old town. Great stay!

Review 28:Very small room for the money. No sitting area. Only one chair which was very inconveniently placed. Room was priced as a suite but was definitely not a suite. There was no view of the water from inside the room except through the bathroom window and the door to the porch. Two pods of coffee was provided with a note that a fee is charged for additional. Breakfast not ready when stated so we did not take part. No ice machine or drink machines for convenience. But overall it was a very nice clean room and we definitely enjoyed our stay. The room was very quite which we appreciated.

Review 29:Liked the porch overlooking the river. Liked the hardwood floors and the cleanliness of the room

Review 30:Excellent location just a short walk over the bridge of lions to the historic district, excellent view of the fort from the back porch rocking chair. Staff was fabulous and breakfast was delicious.

Review 31:We went here for an anniversary weekend and couldn't have stayed at a more perfect place. From the room, the rocking chairs outside our door overlooking the bay, to the breakfast and the staff, all exceeded our expectations. We have been visiting St Augustine for over twenty years and regret not staying at the Edgewater prior to this stay.

Review 32:The only complaint we have is that the outside lights were so bright it looked like daylight all night long and it made it hard to sleep. The staff did reassure us they had just remodeled and had black out curtains being ordered.

Review 33:The staff was awesome, the setting was beautiful, food was great. That breakfast casserole was FABULOUS and the evening lady and the morning lady were so sweet and accommodating. We will be back.

Review 34:My husband would of liked to fish but it was understandable to keep the surroundings clean and free of fish smell.

Review 35:The peace and quiet and calmness of our entire stay. Also the blessing of the staff for making our 30 year anniversary such a memorable event. Breakfast was also very awesome!!

Review 36:We had booked a room with two queens but it was unavailable when we arrived. At checkin we were given, without asking, two rooms with King beds for the price of the original room.Very impressive!

Review 37:This place was unbelievable. Beautiful room, beautiful lobby, delicious breakfast. The staff was wonderful and the extremely clean rooms with great beds just made our day. We will be back many more times. Thank you for a wonderful two days!

Review 38:Great location right across the Lion's Gate Bridge from St. Augustine. We didn't need to worry about driving around town since it was so easy to walk from the hotel. Nice rocking chairs on the deck just outside our room. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 39:The pool area is a little sterile looking.

Review 40:Convenient location if you're ok with walking across the bridge. It's a good proximity to downtown at a decent price.

Review 41:The pool was a little dissapointing. Said it was 4 1/2 ft when it only was about 3 1/2 ft. Okay if you have kids

Review 42:Rooms were nicely re-done. the bed was sooooo comfy. Very quiet and clean.

Review 43:noisy air conditioner. Just a so-so breakfast. Most of all, they really need to install black out curtains! the room was much too light at night.

Review 44:super friendly staff, great location and view of St. Augustine, which is directly across the beautiful Bridge of Lions. A very comfotable bed. Being right on the river, many birds and boats to watch from the deck that runs along the entire back of the motel.

Review 45:Nothing! I can't imagine why anyone would give this place less than a 10!

Review 46:Location, location, location! Right across the bridge from the main drag. We had a waterside room, and just out our back door were rockers and tables and a spectacular view. The staff was excellent - friendly, accommodating, always there. We did their happy hour the first nite. We brought our own drinks, but had cheese and crackers, and pigs in a blanket. The lounge/dining room was lovely and comfortable. For breakfast, besides cereal, breads and yogurt, they also had three different egg casseroles with fresh fruit each morning, served at your table. The room and bath were spacious, and the bed was very comfortable.

Review 47:It would have been nice to have black-out curtains, plantation blinds are adorable but lets in lots of light.

Review 48:The look of the room and the view was fantastic.

Review 49:I had asked to upgrade to a waterfront room and it would have cost me double what I paid for the room I booked. I wasn't opposed to paying more but that seemed excessive.

Review 50:Location and accommodations were excellent. Great atmosphere and ambiance and the staff was great.

Review 51:Gwen, the hostess, was excellent. She was friendly, welcoming and helpful. When I mentioned the TV wasn't working she fixed it immediately. The breakfast was a step up from typical continental (each morning there was a choice of breakfast casseroles) and the coffee was excellent. Rooms were clean, shower was great and if you stay you should book a room facing the bay.

Review 52:The bed was not comfortable but I have slept on worse. Water never got hot while taking shower.

Review 53:Great place to stay clean remodeled great view walking distance is close to town. Would go back for sure.

Review 54:not me .....but my husband complained about the lack of hot water. Sorry hon lol..and the coffee maker did not work the first morning, But was an easy fix!

Review 55:Really liked the staff.. always so friendly ..Ease of booking ..Love...love...love the location.. the rooms are always clean..

Review 56:I wish I could think of something I didn't like but this was a great experience and our new favorite place in St. Augustine!

Review 57:The greatness started with the staff then the room was obviously recently, fully remodeled and was terrific. The view and location were crazy good. Nothing could have made our stay better...perfect!

Review 58:My boyfriend and I loved everything about this place. The view of downtown, the excellent service, the room, and especially the rocking chairs outside the back door. We're planning another stay next month!

Review 59:The outside lights shine into the Windows at night. I think it would help if the Windows had some curtains you could close

Review 60:Great location, very friendly and helpful staff and very clean rooms.

Review 61:The inn was wonderful. My 3 year old grandson loved playing by the water and in the sand. I will definitely be back. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.

Review 62:The blinds in the room fail to block the parking lot lights. It was extremely bright in the room. Recommend ownership add curtains.

Review 63:Stayed here for the 4th of July. Location is good as it is maybe 1/3 of a mile walk over the bridge to get to downtown. You are far enough away to avoid the hustle but close enough to get a beer. The location is prime for the fireworks.

Review 64:Most pools are small and that's ok but seems filration was not good as there were alot of small bugs floating around. Pool area was acceptable

Review 65:Fresh, clean, modern rooms. Outside deck with a view to die for. Great location -easy walk over Bridge of Lions to historic district. Better than average breakfast. A lovely place!

Review 66:One small thing I would change - you cannot seem to turn off the porch lights on both the front and back porch. They let in too much light at night for sleeping.

Review 67:Bed was SO COMFY I wanted to take it home. Quiet, private, one level, a/c worked great. Loved sitting on the deck over the water and watching the boats and drawbridge. Parking outside your room.

Review 68:They are finishing up the remodel, so there were minor things like wi-fi that was crap as well as sorting out the water heating. they should have it fix'd soon

Review 69:parking and river / bridge view etc. parking anywhere in St Augustine is impossible or very expensive. From the Edgewater, you are 2 minutes over the bridge to downtown. coming home from the madness of tourists is equally as enjoyable, plus sitting out on the river deck area is really nice.

Review 70:Water temp could be higher

Review 71:Booked an hour b4 arrival, staff was amazing at check in gave us the room we wanted even though we booked the wrong room, walked us to the room and explained everything, very very clean smelled amazing! Best view and private porch/dock right on the water with a view of the downtown district - will be our choice for future stays

Review 72:About the only thing I could come up with was a lack of wall art in my room.

Review 73:My room was very cute. It reminded me of a cabin. Very nicely remodeled, good size, and very clean. They had a happy hour with beer and wine and a breakfast with homemade egg dish. Good touch!

Review 74:although the porch facing west is very nice it is extremely hot and not comfortable to sit there in the afternoon need some type of shade. The breakfast casserole tasted like rehydrated potatoes needed more egg

Review 75:nice furnishings inside that was super nice

Review 76:Location-Not in the midst of traffic, but close enough to take time walking the bridge, and admiring the fishing and leisure boats and the two pirate ship replicas!

Review 77:The morning front desk person was not very friendly.

Review 78:Happy hour and the breakfast was very good. wonderful location. Sue was very helpful and nice the View was grate

Review 79:Loved everything about this hotel. Staff was awesome, rooms are newly renovated and the view from the porch was fabulous. Definitely would come back!

Review 80:We loved the Bayfront view of the bay. You are right on the water. Dolphins, birds, and boats cruise by all day. You can walk to across the bridge and be in a crowd or come home and chill.

Review 81:Despite the cleanliness and renovations, it's hard to reconcile such a high price tag for a motel. It seemed full, though, so apparently folks are willing to pay it.

Review 82:The river/city view from our porch was perfect and the easy walk across the Bridge of Lions was so pleasant.

Review 83:Overpriced for what you get (in a room without a view). Limited 'working space' in room eg nowhere to put washing bag in bathroom Unnecessary frugality of management eg $1.06 for extra coffee sachet in room,

Review 84:Location, View from breakfast room, staff, cleanliness

Review 85:Could not sleep. There's a very bright light outside of the window. How to check out early and go to another hotel. Hopefully they will fix that soon.

Review 86:Great location. Very cute and quaint.

Review 87:The view from the river side of the room was so relaxing. We sat in the morning and in the late afternoon and watched the dolphins play right in front of us! It was awesome.

Review 88:Booking.com did not communicate with the hotel so we were not in the system

Review 89:Most quiet place I've ever stayed. Room was very clean and roomy. Recently renovated and very nicely done. Beautiful view and walking distance to historic area

Review 90:Wifi at times had issues

Review 91:You cannot find a better view the little porch next to the water offered a view you see in postcards The property is very comfortable clean and convenient

Review 92:The only thing we found uncomfortable was the amount of light that came through the windows at night. Would recommend better curtains!

Review 93:We were immediately impressed by the level of cleanlines to the room-- updated tiling in the bathroom shower, beautiful, modern choices in decor made us feel comfortable. But the view from the deck was awesome-- we spent several hours on both days relaxing in the rocking chairs! Not only is there a lovely view of the river, Lions bridge, and fort, but we also saw plenty of bird and even dolphins! Being so close to the action was convenient-- we either walked or biked during our trip!

Review 94:Unfortunately we were in one of only three rooms without a waterfront view. Not a big deal for us, but just make sure you check that before booking if it matters. Also, windows have blinds (but no blackout curtains) allowing too much light to enter for good sleeping conditions.

Review 95:Location was great. Didn't have to deal with bridge traffic and an easy walk to all of the historic attractions.

Review 96:The room was too light for really good sleeping. Curtains over the shutters would be great.

Review 97:There is a terrific view of the Bridge of Lions leading to downtown Saint Augustine and a porch to enjoy it from. Took a nice night pic of the lights reflecting in the water.

Review 98:The view from the breakfast room was my favorite spot. The bathroom was clean and modern, plenty of towels and toiletries. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Very quiet place.

Review 99:The front desk lady the day we left seemed a little crabby...

Review 100:This is a really nice, quaint hotel. Recently remodeled, and walking distance over the Lions Bridge to historic downtown.

Review 101:This hotel was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted stepping out of our car and escorted to our room. It's a small hotel with the perfect view of the fort from all the riverside rooms. It really made us feel very secluded even though it was right off the side of the bridge.

Review 102:I thought it was nice when we arrived, we were asked to Happy Hour where we sat in front of the bay and drank a glass of wine. Awesome view, friendly staff. They also decorated our room and left us a treat for Valentines. Super nice personal touch.

Review 103:Position, beautifully decorated & modernised, very friendly with great personal service. Happy hour & breakfast were an added unexpected bonus.

Review 104:Have nothing bad to say.

Review 105:The rooms are clean and neat. The continental breakfast was plenty and the dining area has a beautiful view of the city. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel was kind enough to refund me one of my nights when I was called back home with a family emergency. We will definitely be back to stay again.

Review 106:I wish the beds were a little bigger. They were booked up for the weekend but a full size bed for two adults just was a little small for my liking.

Review 107:The staff was friendly and helpful. We were there valentines weekend and they left paper roses,a card, heart shaped balloon and two towel swans shaped in a heart on the bed. Which was really sweet. Breakfast was free and really good. Highly recommend!

Review 108:Just on the other side of Lions Bridge, there is some difficulty getting to the hotel, you must pass and make a U-turn, sometimes difficult in heavy traffic times..

Review 109:The View of the River

Review 110:Very resently remodeled ! Wonderful setting facing river with great view of bridge and Historic St. Augistine. The breakfest and social hour we Great !! Staff were very friendly and helpful !!!

Review 111:The breakfast wasn't the greatest.

Review 112:The room was clean and really nice. The hotel is right across the bridge so it's within walking distance of the historic downtown area. We left the car at the hotel and walked everywhere. Just be warned the bridge is very windy.

Review 113:The staff was very pleasant was willing to help when needed. The view of the place was awesome we had a room with waterfront scene and it was so peaceful and calming. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I will be staying at this place again.

Review 114:Loved this property, you can tell it was recently remodeled and it is fabulous! Clean, comfy and cozy. The continental breakfast and Social Hour were a Wonderful Surprise and very nice! Can't wait to return to this property! Book this one if you get a chance!!

Review 115:No wi-fi signal in the bedroom. Otherwise nothing negative.

Review 116:The staff were very welcoming and helpful. A continental breakfast was served in a large comfortable room overlooking the river and with views to the town. Complimentary wine and finger food were also served here from 17.00-18.00, a very nice touch. St. Augustine and attractions are only a short walk away across the Lion's Bridge. Parking on site.

Review 117:Wifi doesn`t reach the rooms. It is only in the lobby. Breakfast is so poor.

Review 118:Unique and spectacular location. The view from the room is priceless. Bed and pillows are great, room is beautiful, coffee maker at room is great. I loved it.

Review 119:No WIFI but we were told that would be fixed within a month.

Review 120:Wonderful location next to the Bridge of Lions and across from the Fort. The rooms were remodeled. Everything was new!

Review 121:We only stayed 2 days :(

Review 122:Loved the location. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was modern and clean. The deck off the room was incredible, can't beat the view. Sunset each night, view of the downtown area and the bridge of lions. Could not be nicer. Room was quiet inside. Why would you want a room on the Downtown side when you have the view of the fort and the city from the quiet side and you are only a short walk to the hustle and bustle.

Review 123:I had stayed at the Edgewater for my honeymoon a few years ago before the updates were made to the rooms. I really enjoyed it then, but now the rooms and lobby are renovated to perfection! I can't wait to go back again - this will be my spot to stay when traveling to St. Augustine from now on!
