Reviews for Viscount Suite Hotel
Review 1:The only thing I can think of is the card reader on the back door to the rear parking lot was not working so i would jump out walk through and let my husband in so we could park out back.
Review 2:The property and room were comfortable and welcoming. The staff were all great from the from check in to check out. breakfast was delicious, we had planned on paying for breakfast but found that it was complimentary and really good with a good choice of menu items. We had a few special needs while we were there and Elvia Duran the front desk Manager was amazingly accommodating, also Ryan the pm server was great, he must have taken 10 trips to our room to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We will definitely be return guests.
Review 3:The guy who checked us in was not very friendly an looked tired. The first room was in a corner where the hall light didn't work and it was super dark. We received a new room but definitely not with a smile from the staff or even an apology for our discomfort. We also didn't too much care for the outdated televisions.
Review 4:Spacious room, nice smell, good food (especially fish and chips!), the woman who delivered our meal to our room was super sweet!
Review 5:There was a situation at around 7 o'clock at night where the staff had to run to the store to buy Drano for the tub so we had to wait to take showers staff seemed very irritated and did not offer any type of compensation for the inconvenience
Review 6:Awesome that they offer a hot breakfast but staff seemed very stressed out and frustrated I felt like an uncomfortable child sitting at the breakfast table while my parents were arguing very uncomfortable
Review 7:That a room wasn't available on 3rd floor as requested due to its the only floor renovated when I showed up in Tucson with my family,at 9pm on black friday.the rest of property resemble motel 6! And I will not stay here again. No Thanks
Review 8:The 3rd floor
Review 9:This "non-smoking'' room reeked of smoke. The room smelled like an ashtray. The refrigerator was old and very noisy.
Review 10:Both a buffet and a cook to order breakfast are available and they are both fantastic.
Review 11:This place hasn't been updated since the early 80s and it looks it. Dingey carpet. Everything was old including the old tube TV. Place has potential but we won't be coming back.
Review 12:Large room. Decent breakfast although coffee was cold.
Review 13:Missing tv remote. Old, small tv.
Review 14:The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful - the front desk folks, the housekeeping, even every last person keeping breakfast stocked. The breakfast itself was outstanding as well.
Review 15:We checked in to deluxe suites, however they were anything but! The television in the sitting room was the size of a postage stamp, we had specifically chosen this hotel as we were travelling as a group of friends and wanted to spend time in the sitting room area, however in front of the television - no way. The cleanliness was not the best either, hairs in the bathtub and behind he bathroom door too - yuk! We brought our concerns to the front desk manager Elvia, and she was very helpful and gave us free upgrades to the 3rd floor, the rooms on this floor have all been upgraded and the standard was much better although even these rooms could be helped with a slight overhaul! The gym facilities were also pretty woeful, although the management are aware most of the equipment needs to be replaced. I would only recommend this hotel if you book rooms on the 3rd floor!
Review 16:The slogan is " the place to stay" - and it could be- with a major face lift! The hotel has potential, the idea of mini suites is great and the layout of he hotel with a courtyard in the middle is appealing. The breakfast is good and the food in Wilbur's grill is good, however like the rest of the hotel the restaurant is also in need of a face lift!
Review 17:Room keys didn't work occasionally and needed new ones from front desk
Review 18:Great place for our family to stay. Our boys ages 11-3 loved the swimming pool!!
Review 19:My only disappointment was they didn't reopen the pool and Jacuzzi after a rain storm passed even though they said it would reopen when the weather improved. Made me wonder if this amenity is not open on a regular basis.
Review 20:Liked the spacious suite, and excellent restaurant on site. Nice to have free hot snacks. Pleasant atmosphere in courtyard, and wonderful free breakfast.
Review 21:Room conditions & housekeeping have gone down CONSIDERABLY since our last stay. After checking in we looked at 3 other rooms before settling for a 4th that had a HUGE cigar burn? in the wall. There was a discolored ring around the commode base and one of the drawers in the dresser wouldn't open.
Review 22:The made-to-order omelets are great. Coffee is always fresh and we enjoy the variety of cereal and juice options.
Review 23:It was dated...wallpaper was peeling and the refrigerator was not emptied. Also, the front desk didn't know about the student discount that I showed and inquired about (after we checked out) and they didn't know how to correct the charge.
Review 24:Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly. conveniently located to University of Arizona.
Review 25:No bad experience at all.
Review 26:Restaurant had great food and service. Breakfast was fabulous! Fresh made omelets and waffles! And all the other options really started my work day well!!
Review 27:Upon arrival, the room was not what was expected for the rate paid. TheDeluxe Queen Suite had 2 Queen beds crammed in to the bedroom with verylittle other space to move around. The bed and furniture was beat up andscratched. I paid for a suite with flat screen TVs. There was a flatscreen in the living area and a 20 year old tube tv in the bedroom. Theyaccommodated this with an upgrade to a King suite which was more, butbarely acceptable. The second night, my wife ended up falling asleep on the couch, only to wake up with a rash down the whole side of her body and face that was in contact with the couch. The housekeeping manager said it might have been from the sanitizer they use. She took one nights cost off of our bill. The pictures on the website do not accurately portray what the rooms look like or the "luxuriousness" of the rooms. Highly disappointed with what I got for the prices and will not visit again.
Review 28:The staff were able to accommodate issues that we had, but those issueswere not acceptable
Review 29:Ice machines didn't work well. The breakfast had a large selection, but the scrambled eggs tasted like cardboard.
Review 30:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice.
Review 31:Sheets rough Key cards never worked more than 1 day. Musty/moldy smell Pool deck and pool in poor repair
Review 32:The Keuhrig machine, good central location
Review 33:There for honeymoon friends and family who stayed here based on the fact my bride and i stayed there had better/up-to-date/cleaner rooms than we did. Very disappointed in that.
Review 34:Pool area Very nice and private. Breakfast made the price more worth it.
Review 35:I had what looks like pee stains on my pillow and sheets. The toilet would not flush properly. I found hair in my bed. No remote for the TV. You could barely feel the AC. I woke up in the middle of the night sweating. And the shower was clogged up making the tub fill with water while I was showering.
Review 36:Leaving checkout was the high point.
Review 37:I wish the fitness center had more to offer.
Review 38:The breakfast was very delicious and staff was really nice. The rooms were very clean. The price was decent compared to other hotels. The pool was great!
Review 39:Large, attractive, clean suite with separate living room and bedroom. Exceptional hot breakfast buffet. Since we discovered the Viscount, it is our "go-to" when we are in Tucson.
Review 40:Wifi was too slow but over all a great place spend the day swim and grab some breakfast in the morning, also the place is a little dated but I didn't mind
Review 41:Staff was very friendly and breakfast was plentiful
Review 42:There was nothing really wrong with the hotel, it was just not worth the money. The rooms are dated and I have stayed in Tucson before for less money at places which were newer and had better quality technology.
Review 43:The location of the hotel is great. It isn't too far from downtown or the university.
Review 44:I wish the pool had been a bit cleaner. It wasn't open as much as I had wished, but, that was because of weather and not the staff.
Review 45:The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with varied items and really good coffee.
Review 46:Viscount has been misleading people for months about flat screen hd TVs.I stayed there a few months ago because of pictures of flat screens inrooms. When I discovered my room had none, I was told that actually onlya handful of rooms had flat screens. This time I paid extra for a flatscreen only to discover it had just one in the suite. The one in the brwas an old fashioned, bulbous Eisenhower-era tv. And the flat screendidn't even work. A maintenance guy came to fix it, so that I couldat least turn it on and off, but there were no hd channels and there wasno audio. The next night I stayed in the Radisson and it had 2 flatscreen that actually worked with real hd. Staying at the Viscount islike staying in some 3rd-world country.
Review 47:Jimminica or Jimmica (sp?) at the front desk was wonderful: she'ssmart, professional, personable, and very efficient. Sadly, it's alldownhill after her.
Review 48:Our suite was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding, the best we had our entire trip. When we arrived weary from traveling across the desert and walked into our suite we immediately decided to extend our stay here an extra day.
Review 49:Pool with no heater. My son and I wanted to swim but it was too cold. I ask the front desk if heater can be turned on but I was told the temperature of water is okay and i was asked if i do really wanna swim because the weather is too cold.
Review 50:My room with extra luxury.
Review 51:Nothing. Would stay again for sure!
Review 52:The layout of the hallways around an atrium. Bedroom in rear of room so it's quiet. Sitting area in front part of room. Front desk staff so nice. Breakfast was super--lots of choice--omelette station great!!
Review 53:ALTHOUGH THE FRONT DESK COMPUTER WAS NOT COOPERATING IN GETTING MY BOARDING PASS, THE CLERK (LINDA OR LYDIA)PURSUED RELENTLESSLY IN THE BUSINESS OFFICE COMPUTER AND SUCCEEDED. MY COMPLIMENTS TO HER.RELAXING
Review 54:The pull out bed was uncomfortable.
Review 55:Breakfast, pool, very friendly staff, clean linens, large rooms with microwave and hair dryer, Tucson magazines available in room.
Review 56:The television was a bit old and only seemed to get about two channels. Also the wifi was spotty in our room. So unless you're going to be spending a lot of time in your room watching tv or surfing the internet, you should enjoy this place.
Review 57:I liked the living room area being separate from the sleeping area. The hotel lobby was beautiful and the room was quiet and comfortable.
Review 58:Carpet in front room of suite needs shampooed or replaced. Coffee, both in the room and at the buffet was undrinkable. Need a better quality of coffee.
Review 59:Excellent quality for the price. Friendly staff. Great breakfast buffet. (except for the coffee)
Review 60:Poor fitness facility!
Review 61:Comfortable beds. Great location to UA, shops, freeway. Good food. Boxed eggs had little taste. Coffee in rooms very nice, good quality. Like WiFi access. Nice and friendly staff.
Review 62:First at check in we where delayed because the front desk seemed to be all new young trainees, manager came out much later to assist. After check in I asked for an extra pillow and they said they could not supply us with one. Called and asked if I could leave the key in the room since they had my credit card information to charge the room. When I wen down to check out I chose to use a different credit card to pay and they charged both credit cards. I called to resolve with the hotel after talking with both credit card companys to confirm that they where both actual charges and not pending. When I called the manager was rude and interruptive when I was trying to explain. She was unprofessional the way she handled my concern. I have enjoyed my last few stays there and would probably go again but would like to see the staff better trained and more professional.
Review 63:The room and the hotel
Review 64:The hotel listed the swimming pool as heated but during our visit it was not. I had my 3 year old with me and we were a little bummed not being able to swim because it was pretty cold.
Review 65:The room was just what we were looking for to enjoy a weekend out of town. Wilbur's Grill had amazing food. The breakfast buffet had a lot of options to choose from.
Review 66:Place is in need of a long overdue updating. I don't thing they have replaced anything since it was built in the 80's or 90's.
Review 67:Location and breakfast
Review 68:Tub was moulds rugs were stained everything smelled of bacon in the whole hotel. Staff surly with the exception of one waitress. Wifi never worked at all.
Review 69:Everything about this hotel 5*****!!! From the very helpful front desk staff, the hot buffett breakfast that was included to the very stylish and comfortable rooms! Will definitely be back!
Review 70:The breakfast wasn't good, the toom wasn't that clean (even I've bucket had crumbs it so we didn't use it), bed wasn't comfy, wifi wasn't good it would connect then disconnect never had a strong signal (I did call front desk and asked for help she said they had several connections I could get and it's stronger in the living room area, it never did work right). Front desk people seemed like they just were forced to be decent. Not worth the price in my honest opinion.
Review 71:Outside and entrance looked nice. One of the ladies picking up after breakfast (one getting our dishes) was the only one who seemed friendly and nice to us, wish I had gotten her name.
Review 72:No flat screen HD TV as advertised. The temp in Tucson when I checked in was 80. The room temp was probably close to 90. The heat was on full blast. It was insufferable. I called the front desk and the man reacted as though my request to turn on the cooler was unreasonable. He told me it was "still winter" and the heating unit was still on. If I wanted AC, he said, they'd have to come up to my room and manually change the system to cool, which they eventually did. What was a red flag to me was his reaction, as though I was a pain and an imposition to him for asking for the AC. Not a good first impression as I had never stayed at the Viscount before.
Review 73:The room was quite nice and comfortable, and the breakfast was great.
Review 74:We had no a/c in our room. It was broken. Could not move our room because it was booked. We did get comp for the night. Moved us to a premier room for the next day. That had no a/c either. The 1st room we had was very dirty. Cigarette burns all over the furniture. Smelled funny. The Hotels restaurant was horrible. We returned a steak twice because it was burnt. The waitress was really not in tuned with her job. I would not eat there again. We travel and stay in many hotels and I have to say that this is one of the worst places I have stayed.
Review 75:I liked that the manager comp our 1st night
Review 76:We paid for a Deluxe king room, but they booked us into a double double. We went to the front desk and instead of an apology, right away the clerk told us they were booked solid, then tried to placate us with free drinks. We told them that was not what we paid for. We were going to ask for our money back but the manager come out and did fix the problem. Yea, Valentine's Day saved.
Review 77:The Location and our room were great.
Review 78:Checkin process was short and not genuine or inviting. I work at a hotel in the front desk and there should have been a better greeting and approach. The rooms were old fashioned. Pool was REALLY cold was not able to enjoy or even get in.
Review 79:The rooms were big. The breakfast was great!
Review 80:Just couldn't stay long enough to also check out the in house restaurants! Next time we will stay longer and eat more!
Review 81:The friendly, beautiful openness of the whole facility. Breakfast was also excellent!
Review 82:Plumbing was loud - anytime quests above flushed toilet or turned on faucet it was loud. Larger TV in bedroom, some people do not like watching TV while trying to sleep. The court yard was enclosed so people talking at the bar could be heard in room.
Review 83:Beautiful and well kept grounds and enclosed court yard. Great hot breakfast but hard to see in soft lights.
Review 84:The restaurant staff were terribly slow, neglectful, unprofessional mostly. Took 45min at times to get a refill even when I was the only customer then I saw them argue about who would do it since it looked like shift change. They barely smiled. They acted like customers were a bother. Very sad.
Review 85:The Christmas party I was attending it was too warm in there. Breakfast buffet, some of the food was on the cool side, still tasted good.
Review 86:The coffee maker in the room, the hot water. The comfortable bed. The staff were friendly. I truly enjoyed the decorations in the lobby. Nice atmosphere.
Review 87:Other than a rude blonde at the front desk, the staff was wonderful. The hotel management should pay attention to little details such as the burnt out light bulbs around the ceiling decorations, lights around the elevator. Also, one elevator was not working at times.
Review 88:I like the services provided; restaurant, bar, workout room, hot breakfast. The location was great. Staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfy. We had a great view of the Catalinas too.
Review 89:On Sunday, the lines at the buffet were very long. The man who was making the omelets and waffles was doing his best to make everyone happy. He could have used someone to help him. It took 20 minutes to get an omelet, and then I had to go back 10 minutes later for a waffle.
Review 90:comfortable room, nice breakfast
Review 91:had to go to the front desk to check out very poor service at the Grill inside the Hotel. seemed to be only two working at any given time for such a large room and patio
Review 92:Suite, location,
Review 93:The decor is still stuck in the 1980's with sponge painted walls and blonde furniture. It didnt have a shower curtain and the toilet didnt work very well. The tv wasn't HD and the channels were only basic. Everywhere at the buffet including your table was signage to remind you to leave a tip. It felt just awkward and sad. Checking out their computer wasnt up yet so they were going to have to e-mail my receipt. It hasn't come yet. The whole place just felt sad.
Review 94:I liked the fact that it was clean and the breakfast buffet was good.
Review 95:Wi-fi was slow in the bedroom, but was ok in the living-room part.
Review 96:Layout of hotel with interior atrium, security, buffet breakfast with all-you-can-eat bacon cooked to perfection, all rooms are bedroom-living room suites with fridge, two flat-screen TVs, excellent beds, quiet, writing desks, and some with panoramic views of the Catalina Mountains. Staff is very friendly and take care of problems immediately, facilities include a well-maintained pool and jacuzzi, laundry room and a small fitness center with treadmills and a dated weights machine (more serious gym-goers can get passes at a nearby gym). All in all we had an excellent stay at this hotel, and will definitely stay there next time in Tucson.
Review 97:The bathroom floor didn't look like it had not been cleaned in a while! ! :(
Review 98:I liked almost everything!!!
Review 99:Hotel needs some updating, especially TVs
Review 100:Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Nice breakfast buffet
Review 101:The poor tv reception.
Review 102:The Christmas ambiance of the lobby and the breakfast buffet.
Review 103:Upgrade needed
Review 104:Comfortable beds
Review 105:Most delicious free breakfast Ive ever had at a hotel!
Review 106:Shower didn't work, tv remote didn't work, room was out dated. We will not be staying there again
Review 107:Service was ok
Review 108:Really nothing. The facility is a little rundown but clean
Review 109:The breakfast was very nice
Review 110:A bit dated
Review 111:the two rooms
Review 112:Horrible old-fashioned TVs with just 10 channels. No fridge in my "kitchen," just a microwave.
Review 113:The pub, the bed, the breakfast.
Review 114:Breakfast was great with many choices including custom omlettes
Review 115:1 floor was in bad shape.
Review 116:Breakfast and 3rd floor!
Review 117:bATHROOM JOHN ALMOST OVER FLOWED. didn't HAVE ANYWAY TO TELL ANYONE. sORRY. 217 I THINK WAS MY ROOM - TLAPA
Review 118:Very helpful guy at the reception, answered all the questions straight away. Would definitely recommend this place.
Review 119:Blonde waitress in bar was rude
Review 120:The omelets where awesome
Review 121:ice machines broken
Review 122:No ice or ice buckets that was very inconvenient
Review 123:Very nice place enjoyed very much
Review 124:Air Conditioner could have been colder. Especially August in Tucson.
Review 125:The breakfast buffet included with my room was incredible.
Review 126:The staff was very very helpful n the loved the way they were feindly
Review 127:Nothing
Review 128:Everything. Breakfast was the best part. A lot of options.
Review 129:The pool was very uncared for. The magnetic keys didn't work very well. The water by pool and gym area wasn't kept up.
Review 130:Room was very very quiet. We were next to elevator and couldn't hear ANY noise from outside the room.
Review 131:hotel needs refurbishment and upgrading of so many amenities. Looked dirty and room smelled old.
Review 132:centrally located
Review 133:i like suits are very confortable and big, all the facilities is good, clean and the buffet is excelent
Review 134:My steak was to tough to even cut
Review 135:Friendly Staff
