Review 1：I'm not sure there is anything they can do about this but there is definitely a funny smell in the room. I am pretty sure though that it is a result of the sulfury smell in the SA water. I have seen descriptions of the smell as mold or musty but it is definitely sulfury. What they could do something about, are the kinds of foods they offer for breakfast. Everything, with the exception of some small cups of light yogurt, was bread. No protein. The do have a restaurant next door and offer $5 vouchers for breakfast there but it would be nice to grab something healthy and go in the morning.

Review 2：They were ready for us when we arrived. The room was assigned and everything was ready to hand us. The staff was very helpful and gave us all of the information we were going to need. The room was clean and very nicely renovated recently. Exactly how it looked in the picture.

Review 24：The staff was extremely lackluster when we checked in. The door key had to be tried about 10 times before it worked. The room smelled musty. The sheets felt like they hadn't been washed. The shower curtain rod was broken so our bathroom was wet every time we showered. We also had some rowdies staying next door the first night who were slamming the door at 3am the first night. We called the front desk but it took awhile before anything stopped.

Review 26：Friendly staff anticipates your needs and offers help. As friendly as any B & B which is my preference. We got the same type of welcome and assistance plus excellent breakfast next door for a fraction of the cost.

Review 27：The free breakfast was disgusting. There were no healthy options. The only cereals were sugary fruit loops and other unhealthy cereals. There was only white bread, no grain bread. There were various unhealthy pastries and cakes, but no loose fruit or anything remotely healthy. There was a fruit bowl with a cut fruit salad, but the fruits had so much liquid from sitting there for so long it tasted soggy and old. The front desk need to improve their check in procedures. At check in, the receptionist asked for our credit card and charged our account without any explanation what the card was being used for or how much was being charged. We had assumed she was putting a hold on the credit card, and would have preferred to use a different card for the payment of the room which created significant issues for us.

Review 28：The rooms were modern, clean and spacious. This stay was great value for money.

Review 29：- The breakfast was very poor.- The attitude of the staff could have been more friendly. - We stayed 2 nights, were charged for 3 nights. Jaybirds never ever responded to our complaint, they just kept ignoring us. If Booking.com had not stepped in, we would have never received our money back. So DEFINITELY NO and NEVER EVER to Jaybirds. Always YES to Booking.com.

Review 31：We found the facilities very clean and conveniently located to Old St. Augustine. (driving distance) We were also pleased with the Jaybird Resturant. The food was good and the staff was friendly. (Beware..the portions are extremely large. Their pancakes are the size of a dinner plate.) We will use this motel again.

Also A/C did not work in our room when we arrived, hair in shower, message light retrieval system did not work and the only coffee available in the room is dark, strong and regular. (No decaf offered.)

They had both games, like air hockey, and fitness equipment for the client's use. They also provide computers and printers, free of charge, for the client's use.

The complimentary use of bikes to see St. Augustine definitely made our trip a lot better. Jaybirds Inn is a very short drive (or bike ride) to historic St. Augustine. Overall - A+

Review 80：The hotel was repaving the parking lot which they didn't tell us until we got there. They began the work with heavy equipment at 7 AM. Not very relaxing when you are on vacation.

Review 82：They have really made an effort to update this very dated property. When we arrived, my wife looked at the condition of the property and didn't want to go in. The hotel pool was about the same size as my home pool. All the hotels along this stretch of highway are very near the railroad track. All night long trains roll by and blow their horns. Additionally, the intersection is very busy with auto & truck traffic. Very, noisy ! The owners have made an effort to upgrade the rooms. They offer Starbucks, have free loaner bikes, free USAs in the lobby and were repaving the parking lot. But, at the end of the day, the rooms are the typical, 1990 Holiday Inn models with the ac in the outer wall and the shotgun bed on entering and bath. For, the money, it's only a fair deal.

The room was very nice but there were these small flying hugs everywhere and there was an odor to the room( like maybe left over from before reno). It was so bad we went to CVS and bought plugins and air freshener. This time my only issue was the AC. We called twice and supposedly someone came to look at it but it didn't work properly the whole stay. It was set at 62 for two days (and NEVER got below 75) until we finally decided to go back to cvs and buy a box fan.

Hotel looks like a small road side motel but they have done amazing upgrades! Going to be our go to hotel in st augustine from now on.
