Reviews for CitiGarden Hotel

Review 1:One particular member of the front desk staff, who was very rude and out of league. No class, no discretion, an absolute disaster as a front desk person. She was not fit for the position.

Review 2:Location, breakfast, shuttle.

Review 3:Called the hotel at the hotel shuttle bus stop phone. Front desk staff said the shuttle is coming in 10 minutes. We waited in the cold night for 10, 20, 30 minutes. Not even a shadow of their hotel shuttle appeared. Meanwhile other hotel shuttles have passed us more than once. Each time bringing a different batch of passengers. When we called in again, front desk staff said the shuttle has made his last pick-up & our only option was to take a cab ride to the hotel. Demanded that he called the shuttle driver to go back cos we did not see the shuttle even once. He refused and said "if you keep yelling at me, I'm just gonna hang up." Thanks Citigarden Inn for giving false shuttle information, letting us wait in the cold & ruining our vacation. Luckily booking.com has a free cancellation option for this booking (Keep It Up!). Otherwise, we would have been staying at this hotel with a bitter taste in our mouths.

Review 4:Our return stay on Dec. 13, 2015, our room had a toilet malfunction. Wouldn't flush and we didn't discover that until the middle of the night. The staff was very sorry for that. They explained that the hotel was being renovated.

Review 5:We were able to get a room on 1st level near the lobby. My sister cannot climb stairs, Matthew was very accommodating and most pleasant. This was our stay on Dec. 4, 2015. We've stayed here before and had excellent experiences.

Review 6:Although the room had been renovated recently, the bedding and mattress were older. The mattress felt lumpy and I did not sleep well.

Review 7:Staff were very nice and the room had recently been renovated. The hotel is just minutes away from the San-Francisco airport which made it easy for me to take an early flight.

Review 8:Room door was difficult to close and open. And , there was no coffee maker / water / thermos in the room

Review 9:Front desk service/ as well as behave was good. Breakfast was good. Service at the breakfast room was good

Review 10:The room was run down. There was a spit wad covering peephole. The internet was unbelievably slow and the cable television was staticky. We checked in and checked out within an hour. Comfort Inn down the street was $10 more and was perfect.

Review 11:1. Worst room location2. poor food selection 3. mattress hard, pillows old & uncomfortable 4. tub had a leak & water flooded the bathroom area & would have gone into the carpet if we hadn't put down all the towels

Review 12:Not a lot to like, deserves a 2 star rating and for $200.00 + anight...a very poor value.

Review 13:Mediocre included breakfast. Paper plates, plastic cups and plastic utensils not environmentally friendly

Review 14:Convenient location and good shuttle service to SFO

Review 15:Getting to San Francisco was a very expensive 45 min cab ride away.

Review 16:The gardens were lovely! The whole property was very comfortable including the pool and common areas. The location was quiet with restaurants with in walking distance. it was very close to the airport for my early morning flight.

Review 17:The room was dirty and extremely dated. Ripped and worn furniture. We wouldn't even let our children touch anything or shower.

Review 18:The proximity of the location to the airport.

Review 19:A bit tired needs some money spending on bringing it up to decent modern standard. Carpets a bit worn and stained. Feels a bit like a 1960's London council estate.

Review 20:Very helpful and pleasant staff. No drinks or cooking facilities in room but complimentary drinks all day in lounge which is fine. Breakfast average to good. Good free shuttle service to airport. Exceptional Chinese restaurant attached but not licensed.

Review 21:The decor of the rooms is not my taste but you are only there to sleep anyways :)

Review 22:It's close to the airport. Staff was very friendly. There is no fridge or microwave in the room and when I wanted to heat up some food the staff member opened up the breakfast room so I could use the microwave. Very, very nice! They have a big pool. Breakfast was nice. Room was clean. They have vending machines with noodles and drinks. Free coffee and tea!

Review 23:Rooms need to be updated. All furnishings including carpet are old. The area felt a little ghetto. It was something we had to book last minute so we had to get a cheap room quickly and this was the only option.

Review 24:Free Airport shuttle service. Staff was friendly

Review 25:Hotel room was dirty, the bathroom door had dirty hand prints on it and the carpet was filthy I didn't want to walk on it with my bare feet.

Review 26:Shuttle transportation to and from airport. Staff was nice.

Review 27:Excellent job! Property is only 15 min away from downtown SF. Shuttle to the airoport is available. Upgrader rooms with amazing amenities for the price.

Review 28:No available bellboys to assist guests (esp sr citizens) in carrying suitcases to the rooms & back during checkout.

Review 29:Clean & quiet surroundings. Room ok, nearness to the SFO airport

Review 30:Given it was San Francisco I would stay there again

Review 31:The staff were excellent, breakfast above average, room was clean and adequate though somewhat dated. Rooms were going for $200 + all around here I paid 149! So it worked for me

Review 32:The ceiling over the tub looks like it has mold on it. The carpeting was stained. The bedspread looks to be about 30 years old. The bedding could be greatly improved with an arrangement that excludes a bedspread that is obviously not washed after every visit. Everything on the bed should be washed every visit - and it should be obvious they are fresh and clean. That is the way the business hotels have made a huge difference with a small thing.

Review 33:The staff were all super nice, helpful and friendly.

Review 34:The room was shabby and dirty. The toilet actually had feces on the seat- The shuttle runs every half hour, so while waiting to be picked up, we would see other hotel's shuttles come a couple of times before the CitiGarden shuttle showed up.

Review 35:The location to SFO

Review 36:I got hotel through Booking.com it was a park and fly.when Iarrived at the hotel they advised me that Booking.com cannot book park and fly..so i had to pay a higher rate...very upset.

Review 37:Convenient to the airport.

Review 38:Lobby is clean. Stairwell and halls filthy. Grime everywhere. Room was old and stale. Sink , toilet and shower clean, but walls grungy. Parts of floor trim missing. Front door filthy. Whole place needs remodeling. Breakfast is cereals and breads. No protein. Paid $220 for room. Not worth it. Won't stay there again.

Review 39:This hotel is really a MOTEL. It is in disrepair, inside and out. It's been featured on Hotel Impossible and is supposedly undergoing renovations and will even get a new name. My room had dead bugs on the tile floors. The fabric chair was so filthy with stains that I put down a towel before sitting on it. THe bedding was questionable... One day I had been out the entire day and came back to my room and it had not been serviced.

Review 40:Location was convenient, very near all major freeways. If you need a shopping center, the Shops at Tanforan is within a 5 minute drive. The room was functional for what I needed and the AC worked very well. I would not stay here again unless the renovations come to fruition. The free WiFi worked perfectly.

Review 41:The facilities were not as expected consider to the price i paid. very expensive for what you get in return.

Review 42:Kind staff, location is very close to SFO and there are shuttle services from/to the airport which i found it very useful for me.

Review 43:No refridgerator, grounds and parking lot needs some care and updating. Its ugly!

Review 44:Breakfast , and beds were comfy. Rooms and bedding was decent. Especially for the price.

Review 45:The motel was at the end of the runway for the San Francisco airport. There were times that we couldn't hear ourselves think. Plus our room was the only room missing a "doors sweep." Meaning... We had the only room(that we noticed) that had a two inch gap under our door. Thank goodness it was summer, because if it had been winter months, an ice cold breeze would have been prevalent. Also construction around the swimming pool kept us from getting in and cooling off.

Review 46:It was the most inexpensive of several hotels that I checked out online.

Review 47:The noise, the parties, the fighting. Manager even came to fight and still didn't kick them out.

Review 48:Control the parties. People do need to sleep and are there people there for work. I was there and needed to be up at 5 am and there were fights and parties with music on all night. That was awful.

Review 49:Rooms were basic and draft through the door let a chill in

Review 50:Good location for the airport, very handy for early morning flights and great value compared to others nearby

Review 51:facilities were ok, just a little old, needed some paint and sprucing up

Review 52:Matthew at the front was pleasant and very helpful, room was good, clean , quiet and close to airport

Review 53:We are surprised to know that Citi Garden was purchased by Park Pointe Hotel. We hope the rate will be deals like Citi Garden or reasonable and not overated.

Review 54:I love the continental breakfast that still have some food when we arrive a little late morning about 08:45 AM.

Review 55:*Hair on pillow upon arrival. *Rooms old and dark, and motel like...Need upgrading and lit up, bright colors, etc...Room character made room a difficult place to relax in, and enjoy. *Lots of loose garbage around, for example by vending and ice machines, in staircases and on walkways, etc...

Review 56:Staff was great. Breakfast was very well-done. Great check-in and common areas, but then huge drop in quality and appearance when going to the room.

Review 57:bad too small for a couple with a 3-years old boy, traffic jam in San Francisco, really hard to drive in san francisco, to enjoy San Francisco you need money to stay in a expensive hotel, we didn't like SF, we were coming from Yosumite Park toward Big Sur (US-1), I would recommend not stay in SF, go direct to Monterey or the paradise Carmel by the sea.

Review 58:Considering São Francisco is really too expensive to stay, this hotel become a really good option for those with car and budget limited that can't afford to pay a hotel + $45 per day for parking in the central zone. Other advantage the Hotel is close to the BART by car. Staff was really nice. We found a good Italian restaurant 5 min driving from the hotel.

Review 59:Looks to be still renovating pool area, good for future. Personal advice to management: invest in redoing all stairs & railings & steps to second floor...my stairs had uneven cement & on the whole appeared outdated. Also, ensure outdoor lighting along entire balcony and 1st floor are operable. My outer room, facing waterway did not have working lighting. Neither toom switch or automatic. Courtyard appeared fine.

Review 60:Loved beds and bedding. Lived vintage furniture & lamps. Friendly front desk staff. Enjoyed hotel upgrades & variety of breakfast items & staff there ti help & maintain.

Review 61:They seem to be in the process of upgrading this place. It must have been a pretty bad place before, and it has the potential to be great. Hopefully the renovation will improve it considerably.

Review 62:The staff was really helpful and delightfully friendly.

Review 63:While we were having the comprematry breakfast, the staff was talking about how they seen roaches !!! Yuck !! Stains on the carpet everywhere, spent too much money making the front desk look as if you were staying in a nice place. Wifi was horrible.

Review 64:This place was very close to the airport.

Review 65:The chair had stains on it and there was a lamp that didn't work. Also there was no microwave or coffee pot in the room.

Review 66:It is a good location. It was not too far from San Francisco.

Review 67:Gym is minimum, room needed to be renovated. Ask for a room on the garden side so it will be quieter.

Review 68:They do have free wi fi, even it' s very slow at peak periods. The hotel is closed to the airport, major highways and 3 minutes from rental car return.

Review 69:Rooms definitly need renovation and they are busu with it . We were not lucky enough to get a renovated room and everything even towels were really old and used. Internet was the worst! We needed to download something and tried for hours with no success , staff were NOT helpful at all and at the end we asked the hotel next to us and they kindly provided us internet acsess which solved the peoblem in few minutes! Breakfast was not exciting. Overpriced in general.

Review 70:To skip the high priced hotels in the city this one had an acceptable dictance and location and close to airport. Free parking/ laundry services / pool.

Review 71:Mattress was old, it took a while to get comfortable. Planes were loud in the wee hours. It was a bit expensive for the quality. If you do not eat carbs there is very little for breakfast.

Review 72:It was where we wanted to be. It was clean. Good shower. Friendly staff.

Review 73:Wifi wasn't very strong. Had to use my phone as hot spot instead. Parking was limited near room.

Review 74:nice staff. But they messed up and charged two of my credit cards...double billed, later fixed when I got home and called to advise them of their mistake. But nice and polite.

Review 75:The TV was broken! Cable had a bad connection TV was fuzzy and kept rolling the picture like an old school Antenna TV...The place looks like a Compound or Projects paint was old furniture was very very old the list goes on....

Review 76:It was near the airport

Review 77:There was tea, coffee, sugar, creamer and cups but no boiling water to make a cuppa in the lobby nor in the bedrooms. I just wanted a place to chill and read and relax before a long haul flight.

Review 78:The staff were amazing and arranged a taxi for me to go to Burlingame for the pm to shop and get pampered. They also allowed my bags to be kept at the lobby. Staff were really helpful

Review 79:Although it was pretty clean, they missed a few details out of normal reach showing lack of effort on part of the cleaner. The breakfast provided was ok, but lacking. Pool on site was closed even though it was a sunny warm day. Staff didn't even know if it was heated or not or when it would be open.

Review 80:Overall it seemed pretty clean. Convenient location. Better price than nearby options. Nice to have food available first thing in the morning.

Review 81:The curtains were moldy, the bath didn't drain, and the internet was free but didn't have the strength to be able to use.

Review 82:Friendly front desk staff. Friendly van driver. Convenient to airport.

Review 83:I made a resrrvation via booking.com. I indicated I have a service dog with tahs. I checked and was sent to the farthest end of the property because of my "pet". I yold staff that I was on cruthes and in pain that the distancr to the main buildings were too far staff onsisted I go there ee got there and we were given the wrong key. We had to dtive back to reception because they were too busy to send some one to drive to us. When ee enteted the ropm is was not been made!! We finally weee given a room near the center griunds close to the main buildingbecause I advocated with a different staff member. No apologies or a free nights stay for me was offered. Since im in sales I am very comfortavble speaking up for myself however I was too exhausted and angry with the drama and unprofessional and lack of compassion or understanding my disabilities and not willing to listen to me regarding the service animal is not a pet. They don't have accdents like a pet could and I had always been in by the front.

Review 84:Ive been here about 5 or 6 times and this last time may be the Last Time there. I like the rooms though a microwave and somr plastick drinking cups would be helpful I like the grounds the staff food the pool up until this last visit.

Review 85:This hotel was once nice.it maybe improving but they are funding it on over priced room rates now. And the work will be out dated by the time they finish the remodel. Again the lobby is elegant. But the rest is on old motel6

Review 86:Ok breakfast

Review 87:Outdated room, office staff was not friendly, booking through bookit earned me a room where all the people had to enter right by me....i heard everyone coming into the motel all night long.

Review 88:Bed was clean.

Review 89:Personnel at front desk were made aware of employee peering into my room (actually craning his neck to do so) when he passed by and as I was outside my door. Person at front desk could have cared less and actually defended his actions. Very disappointing.

Review 90:It was nice not paying for parking and having a breakfast included in our stay.

Review 91:Bed as a bit firm but nothing tragic.

Review 92:Got an early flight? Stay here, get a free breakfast, leave your car for a very small per day fee, and a free shuttle will take you to the airport on a very timely and regular schedule. I had a room that was not yet renovated. Nothing fancy but very clean and comfortable. Nice buffet on sight and other options close by.

Review 93:Staff failed to fix electricity so not lights st bed. Shuttle came and left without passengers. No effort to alert waiting guests. Meager breakfast. Old TV with our reception.

Review 94:Not much

Review 95:No Wi-fi, no help for a disabled man to move his luggage from half a mile away end of the hotel to front office. Vending machines don't work

Review 96:Comfortable place to spend few days at that price range, very neat and clean, big Chinese authentic restaurant in-house! Front office people but no technical support. Wi-fi will not work, no one to help you with moving your luggage even if you agree to pay them for a bell man!

Review 97:No room service. Didn't feel comfortable driving anywhere, delivery didn't sound good and the buffet downstairs was not great.

Review 98:I was able to leave my car, and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg like it would have at the airport. It was great being able to get a shuttle to and from the airport.

Review 99:The pictures on the website didn't represent the motel. The grounds felt like an apartment complex. There were exposed wires unmarked on the pathway, that could be easily tripped over. The television in the room was a 15 inch picture tube that was probally purchased at the thrift shop for $10. The shower was scalding hot water that we couldn't turn the temperature down. The breakfast consisted of frozen toaster waffles and frozen pancakes.

Review 100:The price was the cheapest in town.

Review 101:As a single female traveler when I got to my ro the door doesn'tclose or lock properly. So you're left with the old chain lock. Notvery safe w a gaping gap in the door. The carpet is disgusting and I wore flip flops the entire time. Shower didn't work. NO WATER was coming out. Had to be moved. Towels are paper thin. Didn't have to worry about all of the commotion going on outside. I had earplugs. Can't wait to wash this place off. Ew

Review 102:Comfy bed

Review 103:The staff wasn't bad, but they weren't the most pleasant I've encountered. I asked for a 4 a.m. wake up call which I was assured I would get, but it must have slipped their minds, luckily it didn't cause me to miss my flight.

Review 104:I stayed there for the option of doing a sleep and fly near the airport. It worked out for what I needed, and the room wasn't great but was fine for what I needed on this occasion.

Review 105:The only drawback to me would be the fact that there are no elevators....

Review 106:Service was awesome! From the Front Desk to Housekeeping to Maintenance. EVERY staff member I encountered was very kind and cordial. Breakfast lady (Rosa?) was constantly busy making sure all items were fully stocked.

Review 107:The room was stinky (stall smoke), no smoking room. Bed squeeked and grunted with ever movement, dust in corners and under dirty chairs, I did fine 11 cents under chair and bed. bathroom floor dirty. Breakfast , don't bother.

Review 108:Lobby

Review 109:The carpet could use a vacuum and sheer drapes could use a cleaning.

Review 110:This hotel was very convenient for reaching the airport on a timely matter. And the continental breakfast was thumbs up! If ever in San fran again would stay at hotel . The bath area was nicely updated.

Review 111:Free wi-if and convenient shuttle service to and from the airport. The staff at front desk were helpful and were able to answer My questions about getting around San Francisco.

Review 112:We went back an stayed a second time and we had booked the same room as 1st time but was not given it.A bit disappointing

Review 113:1st time we stayed very happy with everything Room location and friendly staff

Review 114:First room I was given was on the back side of the motel... noisy, as it was where large trucks came and went all night. Asked to be moved to an inner facing room. Much better

Review 115:I was nicely surprised to have a service worker actually come and take me to the cal train station so I could get to ATT park for a boat show I was working.

Review 116:Very pleasant staff. Room was very clean and nicely furnished. Bed linens were fresh, carpet and comforter were pristine. Plenty of bath towels. Continental breakfast was on par with almost every other hotel/motel on the planet. Garden courtyard was lovely, a nice place to sip morning coffee and read. I will stay here again. (I didn't care about the lack of coffee maker in the room since the coffee provided by hotels is usually crap anyway. Ditto re fridge...I was not staying for days on end so I had no reason for a fridge in my room).

Review 117:Room was arranged oddly. Furniture did not fit the room and there were no outlets convenient for charging. Lamp cord by bed was clothes lined to outlet on the front wall.

Review 118:Clean, quiet, convenient location for traveling.

Review 119:The vendor machine was not working in the mid night. we can back late from the airport but no place to buy food or drink around 1am.

Review 120:I enjoyed their breakfast.

Review 121:The arms of the chair were very dirty and they should get rid of the carpet

Review 122:The lobby was very impressive, staff friendly and helpful Will stay there again

Review 123:We were on an emergency trip moving our pregnant daughter & family from CA to PR with lots of luggage and we were able to check out a little later then usual! Thank you thank you!!

Review 124:Age of rooms, smell of rooms/musty, smoke, old. No frig or microwave.

Review 125:Close to the airport, easy to get to / on-off freeway. Good breakfast, lots of room where served.

Review 126:Nothing

Review 127:Spent 1 night here. Room looking tired but I believe tbis place is about to be remodeled. All in all good nights sleep and close to restaurants.

Review 128:There was no fruit available at breakfast

Review 129:location, shuttle to airport was on time and available at many times, friendly staff at front desk, parking included, the garden/courtyard

Review 130:A little hard to find first time because of the road layout.

Review 131:Convenient to SFO, a reasonable price per night, the garden atmosphere makes a difference, lots of free parking, and beautiful foyer and breakfast room. It is always a delight to stay there!

Review 132:Rooms are tired and none too clean. There were blood smears on the side of the box springs.

Review 133:Location is good. Lobby and common areas are well maintained.

Review 134:There's not really anything to complain about, if I had to pick something to change it would be: - the bed could have been more comfortable but it wasn't terrible.

Review 135:This hotel was exactly what I needed for the night before my flight. -clean -friendly staff (especially the staff working in the laundry room) -shuttle service is quick, on time and reliable -beautiful and clean garden area with a great pool area (not a heated pool)

Review 136:Reception woman brash and not very helpful (needs Interrelationship Skills!); No help offered to take (many) bags to room (quite a distance away from lobby); Room: Comfortable, but 'tired-looking': 1) a light bulb missing; 2) big gap beneath the front door (had to place some clothes there to stop a cold draught!); 3) Wifi offered, but not working!

Review 137:Great food!!! Comfy room. Great location. Good shuttle service. Catering and Cleaning staff very pleasant and helpful.

Review 138:Staff didn't seem to know much about how to access public transport- bus options etc. not much around the area. Very limited breakfast. Disinterested staff when told the coffee was luke warm. Poor options of cereal, cold pancakes/waffles, toast and orange juice. No yogurt, fruit, eggs etc.

Review 139:Access to the airport so good for a short stay. Although the motel looked very dated from the outside, inside was a lovely room, comfortable bed and bathroom facilities were nice. Nice seating area around the reception with free tea and coffee. Free shuttle to and from the airport was great.

Review 140:There was not cold water at all in the shower only hot boiling water. We need it to take a shower and finally after an hour we were moved to another room. There were no fridges in the rooms. The bathroom had mold all around the bath tub...

Review 141:The handyman from the night time shift came and tried to fix the shower and he did the best to accommodate us. He helped us carry our luggage and he brought the mini fridge right away. Very nice!

Review 142:There was no refrigerator in the room and we brought food with us because of diet restrictions. I wish the breakfast had other options. There was nothing my gluten-intolerant daughter could have except for coffee and juice. Everything else contained gluten.

Review 143:Staff was friendly and the room was comfortable. Nice beds, clean.
