Reviews for Hideaway Village
Review 1:--mattress a bit lumpy for some --a suitcase rack in the corner of the bedroom would be nice **the first place we were booked into was advertised online as offering "free wi-fi" and "indoor pool." In addition, as there had been recent snowfall in the area, the 1 1/2 mile, winding road was packed with snow and ice, which made the winding and somewhat steep back road too treacherous for our light Hyundai Elantra rental to tackle. As a result, we asked for--and were granted--another unit (the one about which we have now written)--with which we were pleased--even with the $14/night "upcharge." Though there was still no access to an indoor pool, overall we were quite happy with the change, though still disappointed with the way the first property was described and the unacceptable condition of the road leading to it as well as its rather drab, lackluster appearance.
Review 2:--wood-burning fireplace --artistic wall decor that fits the Winter Park context --quiet --easy access to Main highway --handy, functional kitchen area --comfortable sofa --parking relatively close to building --comfortable, steady furnace --Tiffany at the front desk went the "extra mile" to return to the office and make sure we were moved into a more acceptable place! (:
Review 3:I cannot get this survey to work. I have selected items above several times and nothing registers. As for the unit, I really need internet and there was none. Everything else was great.
Review 4:The kitchen was well equipped. The unit was comfortable with good furnishings. There was plenty of space, closets, drawers, etc.
Review 5:Unfortunately, five of us siblings went up to bury a sister. The place was great and gave us all enough room not to get in each others' way. Very quiet - could hear the river and the train. We were very skeptical about the place because of the price - BUT we all decided we'd like to go again. THANK YOU!
Review 6:Units was outdated and needed renovated. Upper toilet didn't work even after calling in the problem to office. Kitchen was so small the fridge door didn't open all the way. No ceiling lights. Although it had a pool and laundry facility, they, too, were in bad need or repair and update. The Rec room needed the most work. I wouldn't recommend staying in Winter Park prior to Memorial weekend as everything is dead. We had to drive 1 1/2 - 2 hours away for any outdoor recreations. Very tiring and had to find places to eat outside of Winter Park as they only had a few places to eat but the food wasn't that good. Mud season is definitely an off season for Winter Park and not a place for anyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors. Steamboat had more to offer as well as the bigger towns and cities.
Review 7:Like the quietness of the facility and having a pool and laundry utilities on site.
Review 8:Everything about this place. We checked in late at mid night which should have given the management a half day time to make the place clean but nah... address was not given properly then the late hour check-in box doesn't open, we end up at the house we open the door and see used comforters all over the sitting area and on sofas, used towel on the ground, smelly bed, used bath products, kitchen stove with all egg and tea marks, back door and kitchen side door unlocked.
Review 9:Oh it was so comfortable with a 3 bed room house with just one full bath... very comfortable. We felt so safe in this house when we saw the kitchen side door and the back door unlocked. I had to literally check the whole house to make sure there is no one inside before we checked in on that rainy mid night day.
Review 10:Needed updated and painted. Carpet had stains and there were dead bugs on the bathroom floor. The bathtub didn't drain well so stood in shin height water while I showered. The barroom sink was the same when brushing my teeth. Handrail was loose
Review 11:Location was good
Review 12:we stay in WP several times each ski season and these condos in comparison to others seem to be the least updated of them. Yuck carpet, no bath rugs, curtains stained and broken, beds not terribly comfortable. For us, it adds up to not worth the extra I pay for the great pool.
Review 13:These condos are a great location and share an amazing recreation center.
Review 14:No answer at the emergency call in line for maintenance or the front desk. I was able to get 2 maintenance men shoveling snow to contact the management. 2 hours later I goa call back they wanted us to move to a smaller condo (WHILE WE ARE SKIING ) . I requested some type of compensation for the soaked bed all linens and things on table and was told" you already got a good deal when you booked the room 12 wks ago. No call from Manager or anyone else as promised ! Horrible experience with front desk and management !
Review 15:The beds were pretty uncomfortable especially after you've been on the slopes all day and you're sore. Wish there would have been a few more towels and you didn't have to go to the office to change them out.
Review 16:2nd time I've stayed here and I love it! Everything you need is at the cabin and close to the lifts. Very friendly staff. We plan on making this an annual trip and will be back again!!!
Review 17:The Arrow 3 unit was a complete disaster. 1. The lights above the dining room table did not work. There were bare wires extending from the ceiling and we ended up taking a living room lamp and putting it on the dining room table so we could see in the evening. We called a number of times for this problem. Seems to me someone should have examined the room before renting it – having bare wires hanging down the ceiling is unsafe. We were told an electrician would be coming to fix the situation but wasn’t available until after we left for home. We called 4 times about this problem. 2. The heat in the living room was grossly inadequate. The floor heating units in that room put out nearly no heat at all. People wrapped themselves in blankets while watching TV in the evening. The heat in the upstairs rooms was fine as well as the downstairs half-bath. Possibly the electrical problems in the dining room had something to do with the heat not working??? 3. We booked out condos through booking.com and I have in my possession the email from booking.com that lists the amenities for ARROW 3 and it very clearly states that there are two bathrooms. The unit has only one bathroom plus a half bath meaning there were 7 people in our condo with only one shower. If I had known that I would have never rented the unit. 4. The kitchen was dimly lit with only 2 of the 3 lights working. Information in the unit told us where to get spare light bulbs, but we looked and there were none there. 5. Other items in the unit were below what I’d expect – mainly in the kitchen. The lid on the crock pot was melted and wouldn’t fit on tightly. The lone skillet in the unit was very badly scratched and anything cooked on the pan would stick.
Review 18:Location was good. The COMO 6 unit was all right.
Review 19:Beds were old and uncomfortable. One of the blankets in the master bedroom had burns and stains. Not good for the price.
Review 20:Location to Winter Park Resort and surrounding area.
Review 21:Parking facilities were tight and snow clearance from our entrance could have been a bit better.
Review 22:Great value. Comfortable and well equipped. Overall a pleasurable stay.
Review 23:The television in our unit was extremely small and definitely needs to be updated. The kitchen was large and everything worked, but utensils were quite old and didn't even include a decent can opener. We enjoyed our time and would return.
Review 24:Our unit was on the end and had wonderful views of the falling snow, was very private, and the snow was cleared in the morning. We had requested a two bedroom unit and were upgraded to three without an additional charge. Check-in and check-out was quick and easy. The bedrooms were large and beds were comfortable.
Review 25:Shower floor was slippery in the downstairs bathroom.
Review 26:The condo was clean, comfortable, and fit our needs. The view was nice and we enjoyed the hot tub.
Review 27:The kitchen was a little outdated and the utensils, accessories and such were extremely lacking in quality. The appliances were decent, though. Also, there was no complimentary wifi and the cable that was included was TERRIBLE as most channels lost signal, broke up or were broadcast with no sound.
Review 28:I liked the location, the price, the layout of the residence and the privacy. I loved having a fireplace and it was nice to have a fold-out bed in the couch in case we wanted to spread out while watching TV. The full size refrigerator and range were helpful in saving money by allowing us to cook meals rather than eat out all of the time.
Review 29:Definately not fancy. Is very outdated, Has older carpet everywhere except the small linoleum area at the bottom of the stairs which is highly waxed. BEWARE my wife and I both slipped and fell on it when in stocking feat. Ouch !!! I think I broke a Toe.
Review 30:Great Price, about a mile to town, A short ride to the slopes. Everything at the condo worked fine, just very old...
Review 31:upstairs was a little bit of pain, because I typically use a walker, & there was no note pad like other hotels/resorts or vacatation facilities have to jot down notes, numbers etc. I also didn't realize that people were allowed animals/pets and I might have brought mine, if I'd known.
Review 32:The nice amentaties.
Review 33:Room smelled like rancid grease Carpets were dirty No ceiling fans Muddy parking lot Tacky décor Insects in room
Review 34:Nice sized rooms Good water pressure Well-stocked kitchen Good location
Review 35:Floors were really creaky with every step taken upstairs. Did not have a way to light the fireplace.
Review 36:Condo was small and cozy and wood was provided for fireplace. Place was very clean and location very quiet.
Review 37:Couldn't get TV om bedroom. Pool house was carpeted and absolutely disgusting. We only went swimming once because the smell of mold was so bad!
Review 38:This had everything we could ask for for an awesome price. Would definitely stay here again
Review 39:Smallest bath room in world.sofa bed was painful-trouble sleeping on it.can hear neighbors on all sides.coffeepot moldy.wife and i could hardly fit into bathroom.no remodeling since 1975
Review 40:Pool and rec area.river view
Review 41:One word mice. Found mouse droppings next to the bed my children were sleeping in & in the kitchen, my daughter slept on the couch one night & awoke to a mouse on her. Would never go back. When I called to let them know about the problem all I got was "we will call the exterminator", no apology, nothing.
Review 42:Beautiful location, quiet area.
Review 43:Very little not to like, not worth mention, however, bring hair dryer if needed !!!
Review 44:Corona#8 is wonderful condo/townhome, corner unit, perfect for 2 of us to stay comfortably. We will be back & recommend to friends & family.
Review 45:Very clean and had everything we needed!
Review 46:The pullout couch bed was unusable. My daughter slept on the floor using the cushions. Would rather not have carpet.
Review 47:Location was nice.
Review 48:It was a great place to relax and stay away from the city rush and to reconect with nature. The kitchen was well supplied and everything was perfect.
Review 49:Rooms were dark. Rental office difficult to find.
Review 50:Felt like home. Comfortable atmosphere. Kitchen had necessary supplies.
Review 51:Lousy tv reception. Found a dog chew bone in room and we didn't have a dog.
Review 52:It was nice and quiet and the room was comfortable.
Review 53:The apartment was well kept and clean beautiful location clean pool..
Review 54:Like an apartment so we could make our own meals and a great location for western Rocky Mountain National Park.
Review 55:Quite suitable for our family
Review 56:The building is poorly constructed, beds need replacing.
Review 57:Location, staff, value for money.
Review 58:Everything about this condo was beyond my expectation.
Review 59:Stove tops did not work well. We could not see Rockys from room.
Review 60:Stairs, two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and price
Review 61:Our arrival was a bit complicated. We arrived at the check-in place after business hours (8am-5pm), and somehow we didn't get the code necessary to retrieve our keys. In the end it was OK (we called a number and someone came, and we finally got our keys after some discussions). But then another small issue occurred: we went to the address of the property that was indicated on our reservation from Booking.com, and it was the wrong one. The map included with our keys indicated another address and a different name ("Hi Country Haus" instead of "Hideaway Village"). We were worried by this confusion, but in the end the apartment was good and corresponded to what we expected. The next morning we went to check-in but the people were late (there was nobody until 8:30am, so we left). This is a bit annoying because full check-in is needed to get the card giving access to the hot tub etc.
Review 62:The apartment (a "deluxe two-bedroom") was great, roomy, with 4 beds (2 twin in one bedroom, 1 king in the other one, 1 hideaway in the living room), 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Everything was clean and in good condition. There was some complimentary soap, dishwasher detergent, and a bit of coffee. The living room is very comfortable. The location is quite good, a short ride from the ski slopes. As a whole, apart from the issues with check-in, everything was great.
Review 63:The condo was very clean, comfortable beds and met all my expectations. The drive to Winter Park Ski Resort was about 5 miles. I would stay there again.
Review 64:Old functional furnishings, DVD player didn't work, ran out of hot water after one shower, small common area
Review 65:Clean, had signs w/directions to visitors in all the right places, well-priced, convenient to shuttle
Review 66:Loved the condo, very cozy and clean, nicely decorated, it had a fireplace too. We watched Disney Movies each night, they were provided for free. The location was beautiful, right in the mountains.
Review 67:Had stayed there last year, had better condo, with mountain valley viewsupstairs and downstairs, asked for same condo, staff did not even try toget family mountainview condo, view of parking lot. Sofa bed needs to betrashed, no cushion left in couch or bed part.
Review 68:Has indoor pool, tennis court and basketball court, two bathroom ,plenty of space for families, and cheap.
Review 69:Only have you one towel each. Had to go to another building to get areplacement. Only allowed one replacement each and then they chargedyou a dollar a towel. Had to pay for a towel if you went to poolarea as well.
Review 70:Great value for the money. Really enjoyed our time!
Review 71:The pool was not heated at all. It was listed as a heated pool online.Only two of the hot tubs were hot. The two hot tubs that wereheated were more like two tubs of hot mud. A brown foam was floating onthe top. The kids and I were disapponted.
Review 72:The front desk staff was great! Told us about thing in town. Moved us toa room with a fire place. The room was small but clean, comfortable andhad everything we needed.
Review 73:It was comfortable with fully stocked kitchen. This was nice for a family with three small children. The kids liked it and it was close to the resort. Would definitely rent again.
Review 74:Being in a townhouse. There was a pool down the street.
Review 75:The bathroom light was out and they did not fix it. Did have another bathroom so that was good.
Review 76:Plenty of sleeping space.
Review 77:Family had a great time spring skiing in Winter Park. Staff at Hideaway was super friendly and helpful with recommendations about the town.
Review 78:front door access not well maintained, lots of snow and ice.

Review 81:lack of laundry facilities in the room Curtain in the upstairs shower should be waited to avoid it blow on you while showering
