Reviews for Valley Hi Motel

Review 1:Could do with better cable channel selection.

Review 2:Courteous, friendly, great housekeeping, great Wi-Fi, large room w/ fridge & microwave, modern flatscreen TV.

Review 3:All good.

Review 4:Excellent hotel and staff. It's an older hotel, but everything was clean and in working order. We had a heavy snow 2 days and the owner cleared the parking lot fast. Breakfast was an extra bonus.

Review 5:All the stairs were difficult with heavy luggage. We left early am and there were no hallway lights, just a couple of night lights. It was very dark.

Review 6:We had a nice large room and bathroom.

Review 7:My son and I just needed a place to stay overnight, and we're very pleased..my son wanted to stay longer. Very big room, loved the bay winow with opening windows. Super nice staff and beautiful facility. Definitely will go back when in town

Review 8:The rooms are larger then we ecpected and were perfect for our family. The manager is awesome. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in winter park.

Review 9:Close to highway 34 = very noisy. Small, cramped room, front door hit the bed. No way to control room temp. The balcony looked out over parking lot. Way overpriced.

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:The price seemed pretty reasonable for spring break week. Room was spacious and quiet. The hotel located within walking distance of food, and a very short car ride to the Winter Park.

Review 12:The room was clean, well maintained, with microwave and small fridge in a great location close to shops and restaurants. Joe did a great job checking us in, giving us tips on the area and made us welcome. The continental breakfast was good. We would definitely stay there again.

Review 13:Joe was amazing. He even called family and friends to find us some discounted lift tickets! Very accommodating, always checking to see if we needed anything.

Review 14:Dated motel, yet clean, spacious, and well-maintained with cheerful staff. Adequate continental breakfast. Minutes from WP ski area and walking distance to restaurants. We will stay here again.

Review 15:Thermostat did not work. Either too cold or way to hot. Had to open window all night to cool off. Was woke up every 1.5 hours because of the plow going by. Not a restful night.

Review 16:Room was clean and big

Review 17:Thank you, Joe! My girlfriend and I stayed here for a ski weekend. Very convenient to Winter Park (all bus lines pick up and drop off right by the hotel), and we had a great time in our spacious room. We enjoyed the hot tub too!

Review 18:A little noisy in the morning, but expected with everybody rushing to the slopes.

Review 19:Clean, large room, very helpful staff - he gave us a rollaway bed for my kids, hotel is close to the action in Winter Park, reasonable price.

Review 20:Old carpets, decor

Review 21:Location, location, location. Second closest of the in-town hotels to the Winter Park slopes. Bus picks up across the street. LARGE rooms with walk-in gear/dressing area and fridge/microwave.

Review 22:Beds were a little on the hard side especially after a day of skiing.

Review 23:The manager was friendly and very accommodating to our needs. He talked about the art work and asked about our days. When we left something in our room after checkout we called and the manager found what we had left behind and held it until we came back.

Review 24:Highly recommend this place for family of 4.

Review 25:The size of the rooms. Convenient location. Friendly owner. Great continental breakfast. Best value in winter park!

Review 26:Joe the owner is very nice guy, he is there sometimes by himself and cannot leave the hotel, so even if he offers to pick you up or drop you off at the Amtrak station take the free shuttle bus, less stress for everyone.

Review 27:Rooms were huge and clean you talk direct to the owner Joe is a great source of information and how to save on lift tickets, WP and Frazier have a free shuttle it will take you anywhere in WP or Frazier almost, take Amtrak no car necessary. WP and Frazier are 2 miles apart and are both very small communities, both are very close to the lifts.

Review 28:The WiFi could be stronger but we were there to ski so rarely "home". It had all we needed for a great nights sleep.

Review 29:The location to the resort with the bus stop across the street; the close proximity to dining and shopping; the hot tub and coffee and the large rooms upstairs where we stayed; and the pleasant owner who helped us plan our trip.

Review 30:Do be warned that the hot tub is very hot without access to controls and has a very steep entrance,

Review 31:Clean, comfortable, spacious, and in a great location with easy access to town, trails, and Winter Park resort.

Review 32:the wi fi died a lot, the 'breakfeast bar' was not what it said it was, although the owner brought us bagels toasted to the room since there was no toaster. , we had no butter :) not sure why it was rated that good, well i will not stay at the place anymore. the building is not white, has uninviting color. the hot tub was a joke. so there is that

Review 33:bed, cleanliness,

Review 34:Parking.

Review 35:The rooms were huge with walk-in bath and walk-in closet. They must have remodelled the rooms over the summer because they were very clean and new looking. It is located close to downtown shopping and activities.

Review 36:The room was very warm and we could not get the air conditioner to turn on. We opened the window but being on a busy street and the lower level made me very uneasy while trying to sleep. Also there was no one at the front desk and I had to pretend to open and close the door a couple times trying G to get someone's attention.

Review 37:The room was very spacious. For having 4 of us in a room, we were not tripping over each other and the separate dressing room was great.

Review 38:The soundproofing was a little thin especially from the bathroom. The location was a bit further off the highway than I realized, and quite a climb which in bad weather meant going slow. The signage on the road to the village was a bit confusing since there's a ski village just before that suggests that it's actually the town so I was wandering around trying to find the Inn and because it was Fall it took a while before I could find someone to ask. Since it was dark by then I was keen to find the place and get settled so lost time trying to find it. This could be easily fixed with extra information describing how to get there and what to look out for.

Review 39:The kitchen was very functional with a decent size fridge and good cooking facilities and utensils. The staff and owner were exceptionally nice and couldn't be more helpful.

Review 40:No air conditioning. The room was next to a busy highway and on the first floor so we could not leave the windows open.

Review 41:The hotel was convenient to town and it had a bike or walking trail next door to it. A hot tub was available on the back deck. The decor was dated but the bed was comfortable.

Review 42:Dated facility, beds aren't great for those who like soft mattresses (but fantastic for those who like firm ones), temperature on warm days is hard to control

Review 43:Friendly staff, great location, pet friendly, clean, ideal for a family traveling on a budget

Review 44:difficult to enter when you first find it, missing window screen in room, broken hotel sign, no coffee with continental breakfast

Review 45:spacious room, very quiet, walking distance to very good restaurants/shopping, well maintained, comfortable bed/pillows, real coffee cups/glasses (not cardboard) and room keys, friendly/personable staff

Review 46:No breakfast, but fridge and cofffee maker in the room. The bin had not been emptied. Other than that the bed linen and bathroom was clean. Most rooms face the main street with quite a bit of traffic.

Review 47:The motel is positioned very centrally in Winter Park. Large rooms with lots of storage space for skis and gear. Great for students and other people looking for affordable accommodation close to the slopes.

Review 48:My family and I prefer a softer mattress. These were a stiff mattress and left us feeling a little sore when we woke up in the morning. Other than that it was a very nice stay.

Review 49:Very nice place. Facility is not high-end but it is in no way a dump either. Very very well maintained. We did not see anything out of the sorts. There are even beautiful flowers planted all over that were in bloom when we were up there. Very very clean. That means a lot to our family. The gentleman that owns the place seems like a great guy. Very customer orientated and very nice. Went out of the way to help us out. We had a second floor room and we had two queen beds in our room. The room was super big. It even had a walk in closet.

Review 50:Super busy, noisy main road right outside. Exterior sign broker. Continental breakfast not great. Screen missing from window - no air conditioning but fan provided on request. Wi-Fi not reliable.

Review 51:Room was clean and nicely set up - large! Beds very comfortable. Nice bay window. Close walking distance to many shops/restaurants. Easy to locate. Friendly, hard-working owner.

Review 52:Broken hotel sign outside.

Review 53:The best nights sleep ever, pillows were the best of the whole trip. Don't be put off by some of the exterior of this hotel, please give it a try & although there was a Blues concert just down the road we could not hear it from our room. Breakfast you took to your room or ate on the patio. Owner is really friendly and trying hard with this place.
