Reviews for Red Lion Inn and Suites Walla Walla

Review 1:See above message.

Review 2:AC was very noisy making it hard to sleep. We also found a large bug crawling on our bed. Other than that we were satisfied. You staff was very friendly, and the price was better than most.

Review 3:My 65 yr old husband fell very hard in the shower because there was no slip proof mat. He is still very hurt; can't put weight on left knee. We reported it but still did not get a mat the second day. Very negligent!!!!!!

Review 4:The breakfast was poorly managed, unfortunately. While the selection was good, they were out of juice both mornings I was there and were out of milk one day. The lobby is comfortable, but in a different building from the rooms.

Review 5:The location is amazing. across the street from both Whitman College and charming downtown Walla Walla means you rarely even need a car; this is particularly nice if you are an avid wine taster and want to avoid driving.

Review 6:Exterior door to hallway didn't close right, and also was quite loud when closing. (Probably only an issue for the room right next to it, which is where I stayed.)

Review 7:Staff were very helpful and polite. Room was clean. Proximity to Whitman and main street was great.

Review 8:There was a large stain on the carpet, next to the bed and there was items under the bed from a previous guess. I think that through cleaning some after cleaning inspection would be great.

Review 9:The manager at the front desk was very warm and inviting. The location was perfect which is directly adjacent to Whitman College.

Review 10:Couldn't check in til 6:45. Did not have enough staff to clean rooms. Very slow. One of the employees even had a child with them. Breakfast was disappointing.

Review 11:Location

Review 12:With housekeeping issues wasn't able to access room until 6:00 PM. Colors of hotel and room are interesting. Needs lots of maintenance and updating but for most part was reasonably priced and adequate

Review 13:Location is superior for shopping, Whitman College, restaurants and wine tastings.

Review 14:We arrived at 5:00pm to find bunches of people waiting for rooms to be cleaned. Were told to return at 6:00 and our room would be ready. More bunches of people waiting for rooms to be cleaned. Waited until 7:30, then finally gave up. This place looks like a motel 6. Owner was no place to be found. Lots of people getting pissed. We gave up and went to another town and and a Best Western. I would have to be desperate to stay at another Red Lion if they allow this place to cary their logo. Doug

Review 15:Nothing except location.

Review 16:Great location convenient to Whitman College. Motel-style and basic, but offers all you need including a very nice breakfast. Front desk staff and housekeeprs were all friendly and accommodating. Cool paint colorss in the room. Would definitely stay again.

Review 17:Some of the housekeeping staff was noisy. I had a DND on my door so I could catch up on sleep, The hotel was not busy (midweek) and they chose to yell back and forth by my door in the early am. Lawn mowers were in synch with them. Glad i had a remote for the fan. Toilet a bit of a bad flusher.

Review 18:The room opened to the pool, the coffee good, front desk very pleasant. I thought the price was very reasonable. Bed was hard but I was not sore upon waking. Got me thinking I may need a new bed at home.

Review 19:We were surprised to discover that it was a motel. That wasn't clear in the listing.

Review 20:Great location, safe downtown area. Rooms were clean and comfy, free wifi was fast and the room had a microwave and a fridge.

Review 21:Didn't seem to meet Red Lion standards. Repairs on exterior needed, and some other upkeep needed.

Review 22:Great location ... Within walking distance of downtown Walla Walla.

Review 23:one of the oldest Red Lions I've ever stayed at.. however it was clean!! but rooms really need an update.. Parking was confusing.. signage could be better about it being Red Lion building/parking out back...

Review 24:Front desk was super friendly and helpful.. not just to us but to other guests as well.. felt like home.. would definitely stay there again!!

Review 25:Whoever chose the colors (Paint for walls, etc. (both inside and outside) for this motel must have been having a nightmare. The colors were garish and made the place look cheap. Just check the picture that you posted.

Review 26:Clean and comfortable.

Review 27:The carpet was extremely stained; also there was mildew in the bath/shower. There were very noisy guests in the room overhead; am not sure why the the hotel would rent one room to 4 young guys with girlfriends who were partying loudly. I had hoped the hotel would hold to higher standard. They ran out of breakfast items on Sunday morning.

Review 28:Location was excellent-in walking distance of restaurants and wine-tasting rooms and Farmers' Market. Beds were very comfortable. The staff were very helpful with our noise complaint.

Review 29:The room was comfortable and very quite. The breakfast was good with a good variety of hot & cold items available. The location was excellent for walking to tasting rooms and to the old town of Walla Walla.

Review 30:We had reserved a non smoking room, but the bed had a distinct smoke scent! We asked to have at least change d out the pillows, which was promptly done. Thanks!

Review 31:Breakfast was ample and the pool was great, as we were there at high day time temps. Also the location to down town was perfect.

Review 32:I was in the parking structure building that had interior hallways. The hallways smelled of old cigarette smoke and cleaning solution. The room was fine though. request one of the rooms with an exterior entry. These rooms have outdoor patios too.

Review 33:The room is decent size with a good bed and quality linens. Best of all, it's right in town.

Review 34:The temperature was 104 outside and the power went out at 2 am, when I tried to get in touch with the lobby I realized the phone was also out. I looked up the local number and there was no answer. When I checked out there was no mention of the outage or the inconvenience, I personally found this very upsetting. I was not thrilled with the customer service.

Review 35:The room was clean and comfortable

Review 36:Hotel building, including egress to rooms looks like a slice out of the late 60s, although they've tried their best to modernize where possible. Missing data ports.... or at least I couldn't find them.

Review 37:Room was just fine - they painted over the cinder block walls with bright colors and included modern furnishings. Could walk to most downtown wineries and restaurants.

Review 38:Accommodations didn't match the per-night charge at all. Much toohigh for such poor quality and environment. Not a true Red Lion locationat all. I was frankly "taken."

Review 39:Protected garage parking.

Review 40:We stayed in room 112. The door handle on the entry door was broken and extremely hard to open. The door closes and locks just fine,so no worries about safety, but would have been nice if it was easier to open. We spoke to management and they said they would get it fixed.

Review 41:Loved having a small patio to sit out on to drink our morning coffee. The courtyard is very well keeped. The rooms are nice size and fit the 4 of us just fine. Beds are very comfortable and the room was very clean. Staff is great and very helpful.

Review 42:The room had plenty of plug ins. All three of us had electronics to plug in and it wasn't a problem. Even the lamps had plugs on them. Room was clean and the TV and WIFI both worked great. Only thing not so nice was waiting for the hot water to get to the faucet. Breakfast was very nice with many food choices.

Review 43:This facility was old and not well kept up. I expected the Red Luon to be a little more classy and upscale, but it wasn't as nice as even the Holiday Inn. The pool wasn't clean and ready for the good weather and the grounds were unkept. The bathroom could've used a little more attention.

Review 44:The location was awesome!! Walking distance to downtown and all the great restaurants and wineries! The room overall was okay.Nice big screen tv, fridge, etc... Bed was super comfy!!!

Review 45:The room had everything we needed and was well set up. There ws anice looking outdoor pool ateps away, but it wasnot open at the time we werethere. Walking distance to downtown shos and restaurants.

Review 46:This is not what you'd expect of a Red Lion. It clearly used to be some other motel- 60's or 70's style with open air walkways and doorways. And the outside is really dirty- there's a black carpet that runs the length of the outdoor hallway floors and it is covered in dirt, grime, human hair, etc. If you touch a hand railing, you will be covered in dust and dirt. It is a terrible first impression! This place needs a pressure wash!!! It makes you feel like the inside of the rooms must be dirty too… though I didn't see any evidence of that.

Review 47:The location saves this place! You're half a block to Main Street and all the cute tasting rooms, shops, and restaurants. Safeway is across the street, kitty-corner from one end of the hotel. Very close to Whitman. We got a room with a private enclosed balcony on the second floor- this gave my husband a safe place to store his bike, which was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are updated and sufficient. Also glad to have a mini-fridge in the room. Its a place to crash- not necessarily a place to lounge and enjoy a glass of wine.

Review 48:The TV sucked which was important since we were trying to watch the NCAA final four games. The rooms are outdated and made of painted cinder blocks.

Review 49:The room was inexpensive and in a good location downtown. Walking distance to many wineries and places to eat.

Review 50:The only window in our room was the big wall window sliding door that faced the courtyard pool and outside sidewalk thing. Although we felt perfectly safe, we couldn't leave the light blocking curtains open while changing (obviously) or just sitting watching TV without risking an awkward moment with another guest passing by outside. So if you need natural light all the time, ask for a room with a window facing outward (if they have one).

Review 51:We were there for a sporting event my boyfriend was participating in. The red lion was close to the playing fields for him and close to wine tasting rooms for me. While I felt it was a little overpriced, the red lion is a good step above bargain motels but not as fancy or expensive as the local historical hotels. Very dog friendly and the staff was super helpful and friendly.

Review 52:Had very late arrival and were sent to a room that hadn't been cleaned, eventually got a cleaned room. It didn't have a luggage rack and was told they didn't have any extras, seemed odd to us.

Review 53:Great central location, easy to walk to great food establishments and shopping. Good breakfast.

Review 54:Room was small and some maintenance issues with entry door and switch on lamps.

Review 55:Desk Clerk was great!!! Good Breakfast (really liked French Toast and bacon on Saturday)

Review 56:The refrigerator needed defrosting and didn't keep anything really cold. The t.v. had some sort of portable device taped to top of it that we had to point the remote toward to get service - very poor setup. The heating was difficult to control and not have cycle on and off all night - noisy.

Review 57:The staff on all shifts were very concerned with providing us with whatever would make our stay comfortable/enjoyable.

Review 58:I liked that every staff member I came across said hello or some type ofgreeting! Thank you for making my dog,Kona, and I very comfortable! Icome and visit quite a bit! So I will be back!

Review 59:The room design, layout and balcony are marvelous. The park and pool are situated so that every room can take advantage of them. And a good breakfast....obviously we enjoyed it!

Review 60:The fridge was missing in our room, the fan in the bathroom did not work making the room smell very musty, the toilet smelled, the beds were soft like a hammock, the room was small and surrounded by painted cinder block walls.

Review 61:High definition tv, sausage rolls and egg with cheese omlettes at breakfast, 100% cotton sheets.

Review 62:Exterior room entry from parking lot is a bit shabby and needs cleaning up, giving a second impression of questionable upkeep. Exterior door entries need to be cleaned up. But once inside the room, all that fades.

Review 63:Great location for visiting Whitman College, Nice room and very clean with adequate space to be comfortable. Nice flat screen TV and good WiFi. Very good breakfast!

Review 64:simple room with all the amenities that you need for a one night stay in the center of Walla Walla. comfortable for that price. eco soaps and all was very clean.

Review 65:Our bookings.com reservation for a king room was not the room we received when we arrived. Were told that this happens frequently. We ended up in a small, queen room, rather than a king room that we had reserved. Probably would have stayed elsewhere at that price if we had known this in advance.

Review 66:Staff was friendly, room was clean, pool area was nice.

Review 67:would have loved a second comfy chair or couch color scheme strange, but refurbishing is underway

Review 68:location (near restaurants, bakery, tasting rooms, everything), price, bed comfort

Review 69:The sliding door was original and needs to be replaced. It was extremely hard to operate. The refrigerator froze anything in there. The pool needed a cleaning.

Review 70:Beds are comfortable. Good value. Refrigerator and microwave.

Review 71:Housekeepers forgot to remove the previous tenant's towel which was left hanging over the curtain rod as well as their soap and open bottles of shampoo?? Unsure if the bathroom was totally finished getting cleaned up?

Review 72:Spacious Room, Comfortable beds and pillows. Hassle free check-in and out. Great price.

Review 73:Externally it is not the best looking, but the rooms are modern, comfy and clean. Air-con a little bit noisy

Review 74:Location Comfy beds The Price Good Facilities The Staff were excellent!

Review 75:Not a thing

Review 76:This hotel represents a remodel of over a year . The staff has maintained the property and obviously take pride in their work. This hotel will forever be my destination when in the area

Review 77:Most rooms have a small balcony looking over a courtyard and pool. This gave it a private cozy feeling. Beds were comfy. They put different types of pillows on the beds. You pick your favorite. It was located in town next to a grocery store.

Review 78:Morning coffee in breakfast room was too weak.

Review 79:Great location, ideal for walking to a large number of desired destinations in the city. No car necessary. Like courtyard access to pool.

Review 80:The facilities were way outdated... Not up to a franchise standard for a Red Lion Inn. Old AC, old very small fridge. Rooms were very small and the plumbing wasn't even very good. Slow drain in the tub, Toilet flushed poorly and loudly. The only good thing was the beds were comfortable, and the room came with a nice big new flat screen tv... But over all they need a new building there in Walla Walla that is up to Red Lion Standards.

Review 81:Location....

Review 82:The hotel is being renovated, so the rooms weren't completely ready. Some carpet tacks were left exposed in our room. The reservation system was messed up and didn't seem to be in sync with booking.com reservations. When we checked in they had us for three nights, but from booking I had confirmation for 2 nights. The person checking us in said she made a quick change in her system to fix the problem. When we went to check out, they did not have record of the room they assigned us and said we were only supposed to stay one night. They were going to charge us full price for the 2nd night because they had no record of our 2 night reservation. In the end we received our quoted price. I think they are still working out their computer glitches, so bring a record of your reservation for check-in/check-out.

Review 83:We liked the location in downtown Walla Walla. The rooms were clean and the pool was nice. Breakfasts were great in the morning.

Review 84:N/A

Review 85:Friendly staff, good comp breakfast

Review 87:Convenient location, free breakfast, clean. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Review 88:Doors opened to the outside.

Review 89:Comfortable bed with many pillows, modern decor, clean room.

Review 90:Staff did not care my brother fell in bathtub. No rubber mat was provided in room. He is 65 and seeing a chiropractor for his fall. Shameful.

Review 91:Nice boutique style hotel.very cozy and fresh.

Review 92:the beds/linens

Review 93:Bed was comfortable. Staff was great. We had issues with the sink but it was fixed in a timely manner

Review 94:The smell in the hallways...musty and damp

Review 95:Room was really dirty carpet was stained everywhere no maid service

Review 96:Had to climb on a chair to regulate AC. Lamps did a lot of flickering on and off due to wall connections (?)

Review 97:Convenient location.

Review 98:Breakfast, not very many healthy choices.

Review 99:Great location! We were able to walk around the college campus and downtown easily.

Review 100:The staff was very local and very friendly.

Review 102:Clean room.

Review 103:The pool was covered with dead mosquitos.

Review 104:Very comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Review 105:The location near downtown Walla Walla is great. Nice breakfast place nearby and Saturday Farmers Market, too.

Review 106:Location in downtown Walla Walla

Review 107:The air conditioner was too noisy to sleep with it on, and we were sweating with it off. A no win situation.

Review 108:View of brick wall.

Review 109:Proximity and price.

Review 110:Location was great. room clean. and quiet.

Review 111:Scrambled eggs at breakfast were awful. Styrofoam cups for juice not in keeping with environmental image.

Review 112:Clean. Good bed. Close to town.

Review 113:Old. Needs to be updated and grounds taken care of. Great location so could be a great hotel with some tlc
