Reviews for Best Western Bayfront Inn

Review 1:Musty room Expensive for a best western No breakfast Loud bars near by Price

Review 2:Great and helpful staff. Great location but VERY expensive for what you get. Will choose another hotel next time. Rooms were a bit musty and noise from bar next door interfered with sleep until past 2 am. None of this was the staffs fault though. They were amazingly nice, professional, and helpful. Seems like you should not have to pay for parking for the price of the room.

Review 3:There was a terrible smell coming out of the a/c. There were little bugs all over the room. You have to pay $10 a day extra to park in the lot.

Review 4:The room had a refrigerator and microwave. There was a lot of storage space. The location was very nice. The towels were nice. The maid service was done nicely.

Review 5:The fridge was so small! Thankfully I bought my cold items after I saw the fridge, if not my food would of gone to waste

Review 6:Location was key! It was a great location for the areas I wanted to visit

Review 7:Deborah was a delight and feel as though we've developed a kinship as she remembers us. Cannot say the same for the evening lady, can't remember her name but she had blonde hair. She was unaccommodating, rude and just overall unpleasant.

Review 8:This was our sixth year attending the Holiday Regatta. The location is perfect! Once we arrive on Friday we never have to get in our car until we leave on Sunday because everything is within walking distance.

Review 9:very noisy at night. bathroom very uncomfortable. Too expensive and have to pay extra for parking and not even continental breakfast.

Review 10:just the location

Review 11:The staff was super friendly. The location was great. Beautiful view of bay. We were able to walk to everything in historic St. Augustine. Great parking attendant. The room was very clean. We will definitely stay here again.

Review 12:The value is just there for the accommodations. Understand the property is older however that should play into the price. $179 a more reasonable rate, not $250 + $10 parking.

Review 13:The location is nice, the property was clean and once past the front desk the staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 14:when we got into our room, we found black mold on wall around bathroom area mixed with dust blowing out of the a/c unit. the closet was moldy as well. the floors were lifting up and showed dirty concrete ( reason why rubber flooring would not stick). we both got sick and spent as much time out of the room as possible.

Review 15:The cigar bar was right outside the bathroom window, across the street in the alley way, and we could hear the live music outside as if it were in our room. The walls are pretty thin. It was also pricey for what it was. If you're going to spend the money, there are better places to stay downtown.

Review 16:Location. It's nestled in downtown St. Augustine and all of the sightseeing is walking distance from the hotel. The hotel was clean and the rooms were updated. The staff were friendly.

Review 17:No facilities (gym, restaurant) but here it really doesn't matter.

Review 18:Its a small place, typical motel architecture, but they did an excellent job remodeling the small rooms and bathrooms, and the location cannot be any better.

Review 19:Excellent location on the bay and next to the historic fort. Despite the erroneous information provided by Booking website, the hotel does accept pets for a small nightly fee.

Review 20:Did not get my money's worth. It smelled, no bathtub, beds uncomfortable and so were the pillows. couldn't get receptIon on my phone. I think we were put in a handicapped room. Shower chair. It's pretty greedy to let that rooM out for $200. I was so disappointed.

Review 21:The location.

Review 22:Parking is a nightmare and they have the nerve to charge $10 extra a day for it.

Review 23:Located within easy walking distance to Historic St Augustine and varying priced restuarants. Beautiful view of the Bay and Bridge of Lions from their lovely deck.

Review 24:Parking was a ZOO - No nighttime security to keep people from partying & being loud on the front balcony's at 1 & 2 am. Thus no full nights sleep. No morning breakfast included only coffee in the lobby.

Review 25:Excellent location and pricing

Review 26:Something that couldn't be controlled by hotel. The nightly LOUD music from the back restaurant Should have a law music stops or lowered to low roar after 11 PM

Review 27:Loved the updated rooms! Stayed there before the change to B W Big difference!

Review 28:The walls are paper-thin, but it's an old motel, and there's not much you can about that.

Review 29:Location! And that the bed and pillows were more comfortable than those at the Hilton Garden Inn on the beach, which we left because the beds hurt our backs.

Review 30:Room was not cleaned properly and was exceptionally small. The bed was so high it was difficult to get in or out. One day the room was not serviced and it needed me to be very firm to get it done.

Review 31:The location was great over looking the sea and close to centre of historical centre.

Review 32:Wood floor separated. Nightstand drawer broken. Shower control broken (no setting for hot/cold...continuous turning). Very small room with limited furnishings.

Review 33:Nice staff and location.

Review 34:Here's the down side: 1) The bathroom door in our room opened in and only opened less than halfway before hitting the toilet. This in itself was a HUGE inconvenience when both of us were showering and trying to get ready to go out for dinner. Be prepared to slide in the bathroom sideways. 2) Hopefully all guests are at least 5' 10" tall if they want to use the only outlet in the bathroom. It was installed to the right side of the mirror and almost required a chair to stand on to plug in the hair dryer, which wouldn't work either because you couldn't get a chair in the bathroom. Also, the top receptacle in the outlet was the only one that worked, so that added another 2" to reach. 3) There is no vent fan in the bathroom. I guess that since there is a very small window, it was deemed unnecessary. Well, if you are a very sociable person, you can open the window and have a great conversation with the patrons sitting at the outdoor tables at the bar right outside your bathroom window. Oh, and the live music is great at midnight provided you don't want to watch the television or go to sleep. St Augustine is in North Florida. We get extremely hot and very cold at certain times of the year. Please splurge for vent fans. 3) The price per night is reasonable for the location. No doubt about that. However, on our next trip we may pay a bit more to have a bathroom with a door that fully opens, an outlet that is reachable and a vent fan to help remove the steam.

Review 35:Our stay was very pleasant. The location is excellent! Within walking distance to the historic district and other major attractions. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. We were able to park our car and not have to use it during our stay. There is only a small amount of regular coffee in the room. So, I suggest that after you check in you request additional coffee. In our case the desk clerk was wonderful and packed up a great bag full of coffee, creamer, sugar and cups. She was delightful!

Review 36:The hotel did not have our reservation when we checked in. I showed them my email with reservation date and booking number. They went ahead and accommodated us but said not to use this third party booking site again.

Review 37:Location was perfect! Nice view of Castillo de San Marcos and the Bay! Highly recommend Best Western Bayfront Inn!

Review 38:The view was not what I expected ... a little disappointed with that.

Review 39:The desk clerk was courteous and very helpful and went out of his way to accommodate a quick check in.

Review 40:The bar behind my room played live music til 1-2 every morning. I asked for late check out (2pm) but if I wanted to stay past noon I would have had to pay for an additional night stay. The hotel renovation made for a unwelcomed early morning wake up. There should have been a warning that hotel was under construction. I didn't appreciate that.

Review 41:Location wise, everything was within walking distance except any beaches

Review 42:Tree being cut down outside window at 6:30 am - 8:00 am. You can hear guests next door talking, flushing the toilet or showering. We complained and were told for 2 days the manager would be in soon. On check out we complained again and our room charge was reversed. Happy about $ but not the noise.

Review 43:Location

Review 44:The room was small with a large wasted space outside the bathroom. The bathroom could have been made larger with that space. Also the bed was really comfortable, but way to high for me. I'm 5'3".

Review 45:The location and that there was parking right outside our door.

Review 46:Rooms pricey for this style of accommodations. No laundry facilities available. No breakfast included. Some language challenges with some of the staff. One of the clerks was less than helpful, or didn't seem to know the area very well.

Review 47:Loved the room, and the location was great. With a view of Matanzas Bay, Bridge of Lions, and the Castillo de San Marcos, this hotel is walking distance to most attractions. Staff was friendly, and most of the clerks were knowledgeable of the area.

Review 48:Noise from bar in back of room for 400.00 was unacceptable I understand is a party city but we were kept up till 2 am band sounded like they were in room !

Review 49:Great location

Review 50:There was nothing that i didnt like

Review 51:The hotel exceeded my expectations. I always read reviews. But always have my own judgement. Would def recommend this hotel and would stay here again

Review 52:Great location in St. Augustine. It offers a bench outside the room to enjoy a great view of the bayfront and the holiday lights. You are in the heart of St. Augustine, and the rates were very reasonable.

Review 53:This time it was just my husband and I, we stayed in a single king room. It was VERY tiny - almost uncomfortably so. The only reason we stayed is because we were out each day.

Review 54:Location was excellent! We've been to this location before with our children. At that time we stayed in a double queen room which was very comfortable.

Review 55:The location, the upper balcony is excellent for viewing the boats, bridge, and people watching, would definitely tell my friends and family, would definitely reccomend.

Review 56:Wish it was upgraded and cleaned a bit more thoroughly.

Review 57:At first location was the reason I stopped staying at Casa Monica. The staff made it simple to come back. The price was a bonus after what I was paying at Casa Monica.

Review 58:Location of hotel is perfect. Staff was outstanding from check in to check out. After parking, can walk to anywhere or take the Old Time Tram around town.

Review 59:Very noisy, but it was Halloween night, in a party district. Parking was toght and the motel has a patking fee. Don't like that too much.

Review 60:Closest motel to our daughter's wedding reception. It actually is situated in an interesting part of Old Town. Looked like there were some nice restaurants within easy walking distance.

Review 61:Our room backed a side street where a bar was open until 2am,so the noise from music and people drinking kept us awake until 2am. There were no rooms to switch to, but they did make a price adjustment to our bill.

Review 62:Location on the bay and water views from terrace.

Review 63:There is an URGENT NEED for some non-skid in the tub/shower. I had two very close calls. Other than that the only gripe we have is the parking (or lack thereof) but there was a young man assisting guests at night.

Review 64:The two women in housekeeping were very accommodating cheerful & professional. The remodeled rooms are nice.

Review 65:Absolutely beautiful room, very comfy. Location was perfect. Walking distance to all the small shops/bars/restaurants. Can't wait to come back again. Beautiful view from the common balcony!

Review 66:The air conditioning system vents need a good cleaning. The whole facility is in need of an upgrade in terms of painting, decor and furnishings.

Review 67:Great location. The room was clean & neat.

Review 68:The parking lot

Review 69:Room was clean. The young man at the front desk went above and beyond his required duty. Wish I could remember his name, he didn't check us in but was there that last two days.

Review 70:The Property had several wedding parties to accommodate, so parking was a PREMIUM item. Being right on one of the main drags in Old Town, it was pretty loud with street noise, etc. until things calmed down around 2am

Review 71:Great location in Old Town St Augustine, right on the bay...Convenient to everything

Review 72:We could not lock the bathroom window and it was located on one of the back alleys. There were some cracks in the bathroom ceiling that didn't look very stable and the bathroom did not have an exhaust fan.

Review 73:The location of the hotel was in the middle of the historic area and within walking distance to almost everything.

Review 74:Annoyed that they debited our credit card the day we arrived when we wanted to pay cash on departure. A little irregular. Also objected to paying $10 a night for parking!

Review 75:The location of this hotel was excellent. It was close to all the major sites and there were a host of good restaurants, bars and shops within easy walking distance. Also loved the large upstairs terrace overlooking the bay. Great place to unwind after a busy day. Our room was clean and comfortable and equipped with a mini fridge which was handy for storing water etc.

Review 76:Very noisy. looks like rooms doesn't have an isolation at all. heard everything, my neigbours were talking about. The bed was very uncomfortable. Didn't like the the thing, that you actually have to pay for the parking...

Review 77:Location. very close to everything.

Review 78:Called hotel prior to arriving from the UK to request bottle of chilled wine on arrival as wedding anniversary and was assured by the manager this would happen but nothing did or even a mention of it in the extra days stayed. Didn't bring up as this was a surprise for my husband so didn't want him disappointed too!

Review 79:I did not know they charge for parking. But as I said, I did not use mycar in three days, still a good bargain.

Review 80:I liked the hotel location, the terrace overlooking the marina, terrificview.I Park my car for three days, I had no need to use it.The employeeswere very friendly and helped us a lot.I Hope to return in the future

Review 81:Door kept jamming , changed key twice & staff had to use supply closet outside my room door .

Review 82:Front desk staff;especially the gentleman on night schedule , housekeeping, convenient to downtown walking , restaurants & shopping .

Review 83:The beds are hard, it's a light pillow top, pillows were fine to me. Parking is tight.

Review 84:The location is great. Helpful staff. Great scenery, close to St. George street.

Review 85:I've stayed in St. Augustine many times. This location was ideal, situated right in the quaint historic district, and the room was very clean and decorated very nicely. I loved the diner right next to the inn; wonderful breakfast!

Review 86:Everything to do with customer service. Room charges billed before check in, contrary to online arrangement. Dumb and dumber were on duty at the front desk. Dumber had trouble with the most basic of requests. Dumb gave totally wrong info about schedules at the fort. FFS, the major tourist attraction is barely a block from the front door! Your yelling me you don't know when the cannon fires?

Review 87:Location, location, location.

Review 88:The ac didn't work well. The bathroom plug in failed to work so no blow dryer. The doorknob fell off the closet door. The room was small for price.didn't like to have to pay to park in hotel parking lot. Foot prints on ceiling where roaches were smashed.

Review 89:Location to activities

Review 90:The Location was great. I really liked the clean wood floors as opposed to dirty carpet. Its was convenient to have a restaurant below where we could grab a quick bite.

Review 91:The building was older and could stand a little updating. Our room backed up to a bar, so it was noisy when we went toe bed.

Review 92:The location was amazing. Convent to everything. The view across the street was very nice.

Review 93:Parking is cramped and pillows were lumpy. Live music can be heard from the room.

Review 94:Updated furnishing and clean room. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Great location right next to Castillo de San Marcos and across from the bay.

Review 95:We booked a king bed for our 5 year wedding anniversary and I was hoping for what I paid for but instead got a double queen bed right next to the bar on the other side of the fence. I went to speak with the lady at the counter and she was rude and just told me they were fully booked and she couldn't help me. I asked about getting the rate for a double queen and she said it was the same rate. So I was mad because that was not true and I had to wait the next day for a manager to assist and she said the same thing there isn't much we can do but give a $25.00 discount. Woohoo you ruined our fifth wedding anniversary and you give me a $25.00 discount. Never staying there again. No parking horrible customer service and they can't even get the room right

Review 96:I didn't like the parking fee especially when some of the lots were blocked off. No kitchen and wifi did not work.

Review 97:I likes the location and the room was clean.

Review 98:The hotel staff was not very accommodating. I requested a room facing the bridge, but ended up with a room on the ground floor facing the parking lot and right next to the vending machines. I could tell some of the rooms were empty but the hotel was not willing switch my room. The size of the room was very small and not bath tub. Also no breakfast that Best Western is known for.

Review 99:I like the location and the quietness of the room. It has been the best sleep that my husband and I had in a hotel room. I am the most impressed about the A/C. It is quiet and efficient. I am a really light sleeper and have been awaken by the A/C in most of the hotel rooms that I have stayed. But this one did not bother me as all.

Review 100:There are better rooms but this is all about location. Not much to dislike really unless you plan on staying in all the time.

Review 101:It's right in the middle of the best St Augustine has to offer.

Review 102:The pillows were very bad cheap for the price I paid to stay in this hotel. Woke-up with neck pain!!

Review 103:The location and the customer service. Also it was clean and comfortable.

Review 104:people allowed to make a lot of noise on walkways/parking lot in evenings. Almost no room to park/maneuver vehicle in lot.

Review 105:Location, clean, cozy.

Review 106:Coffee machine was not working. Mirror in the bathroom was dirty and the toilet seat was not screwed on properly.

Review 107:The location was great for sightseeing.

Review 108:There was a bar behind my room that featured loud music till 4 am. I wasunable to sleep all night and had stuffed pillows between my ears thewhole night.

Review 109:Clean room. Great location!

Review 110:The bar right behind our room was rather loud. The in-room coffeemaker produced hot water with a vague brown tint (but no flavor).

Review 111:Location, location, location. The beds were comfortable (not too soft) and the rooms clean. The front office had excellent coffee ready by about 6:10 AM.

Review 112:Only complaint is the pillows haha. Terrible. Bring your own :)

Review 113:Literally walk to everything. The room was clean and modern. The staff were very nice and helpful. But the biggest thing is the location. The main strip is right behind the hotel. Go shopping, then drop off your goods at the hotel and it only takes minutes. Walk to all the bars. Amazing!

Review 114:They charged me when I booked room and when I arrived. My receipt said that I wouldn't be charged until arrival, but that wasn't the case. It did charge my credit card when I booked the room plus they told me they didnt and charged me again upon arrival. I had to pull up my credit card statement and prove it to them. Oh also they had us down as a no show (even though we were 2 hours early). They only had 2 rooms left and we luckily got 1 and the couple behind us got the last one.

Review 115:I liked the location and bed was comfy.

Review 116:Parking is a little crazy.

Review 117:Great location! Can walk to most everything. Room was small but very clean and comfortable. Staff were polite and helpful.

Review 118:Parking pass fee was not mentioned in original payment. As a guest of the hotel I should not have to pay for a parking pass, especially shouldn't be made aware of it for the first time as I'm checking in. Not a pleasent way to begin my stay.

Review 119:Room very small and kitchenette almost non exhistant. However.... I will be back. Enjoyed ourselves. No parking and that little pool should be a hot tub

Review 120:Right in the middle of town. Friendly staff enjoyed ourselves

Review 121:Air did not cool room. Bed was no comfortsble. Frint window was open and would not close but place was booked no other room. Also on reservstion had asked for groundfloor. Got upstairs room instead.

Review 122:Our room (most, in fact) backed up to a street with a very noisy bar. Loud music and people carousing until past 1:30 a.m. Not a problem if you are up partying anyway, really annoying if you want to sleep.

Review 123:Close to historical district, shopping and restaurants. Across from waterfront (not the beach). Our room and bath were quite small but perfectly adequate with everything we needed.

Review 124:Cockroaches... We weren't even there for an hour and we found two GIANT COCKROACHES!!! Eww

Review 125:Overall it was worth it I suppose (: saint Augustine is wonderful !!

Review 126:The bed too high, bathroom too small and the AC didn't work so well. Would hate to stay in the room during warmer weather.

Review 127:Staff made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Location was terrific.

Review 128:The staff are extremely friendly and always looking for ways to suit your needs during your stay. I caught a cold during my trip and the housekeeping staff left an extra box of tissues in my room for me! Great value for location!

Review 129:Loud music next door, need to sound proof. You should word it so you for warns guest that there is live music next door.

Review 130:Within walking distance to shops & restaurants

Review 131:I knew the room would be quite standard. However, i was very surprised to find there was no rug on the floor. It made it cold to walk on. I realize that it is more sanitary in the long run.

Review 132:We chose this hotel for the location, which is right on the bay, and is a good place to walk out from to restaurants, etc.

Review 133:The noise level from the street behind us and the fact the front desk never told us about a FREE breakfast voucher at the restaurant that we paid over $20 for.

Review 134:The location was great, room was nice size, TV good size and picture (when watching). Bed was a bit too firm for me but bedding itself was nice and room was clean.

Review 135:the place was very dirty the staff was very unpleasant the restrooms were very small there was a man cutting tile downstairs which is very dangerous when I complained the general manager had a really bad attitudethe place was really smelly like a dog

Review 136:Nothing
