Reviews for The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui
Review 1:The relation of price quality for food, drinks and spa are overrated, this is not a friendly hotel to travel with a big family group.
Review 2:The infraestructure of the hotel is marvelous.
Review 3:Beautiful hotel with spacious rooms and wonderful staff. Saw whales from our balcony while watching the sunrise. Highly reccomended, will be staying here again on our next visit to Maui.
Review 4:The food was expensive but it was good.
Review 5:This place is amazing for families with kids. The rooms were huge and had a nice lanai. The location is beautiful.
Review 6:No bad experience at all. I found the elaborate marble bath a bit slippery when wet.
Review 7:The thoughtful and friendly staff. The decor and furnishing details. The options for relaxation and sightseeing.
Review 8:staff always seemed to hustle for tips. felt like hotel stuff tried to rush us out of the hotel on departure day. Restaurant and bar prices very high. Beach very short, not enough to walk along.
Review 9:room and bathroom size
Review 10:Service at the retail side--restaurant, poolside and concierge. The attention and style is based on the assumption that guests expected Sheraton/Marriott care rather than Fairmont/Four Seasons care.
Review 11:Facilities--the location and the resort.
Review 12:The hotel was wonderful, beautiful pool area with waterside and a children's pool. Great view of the beach. The service was very good, by the pool, beach and around the facility. The rooms were spacious and large, all suites. Housekeeping did a great job making sure the rooms were always clean. The food was great, love the market cafe and Nick's Seafood. Excellent beach, water was so clean! Had a great vacation!
Review 13:Vastly overpriced for the quality of accommodation and service. Everything was extra and everything was overpriced. Insufficient pools and lounger provision. Badly organised activities. The expensive WiFi was woefully poor.
Review 14:Property was nice enough. Most staff were OK. However nothing about this part of our trip stood out. Nothing was great or exceptional.
Review 15:The suite we booked for 550.00 was in a dark basement feeling corridor far from the main part of the hotel. They did switch me to a higher floor, upgrade, however it was above the smelly kitchen fans and I was sick all night due to the smell. They once again offered me another room, but I decided to check out and go to Kaanipali.
Review 16:Beach was nice but crowded
Review 17:Not many breakfast options other than the buffet. Wi-Fi was not very good. Pretty crowded everywhere we went. They're expensive for what we got.
Review 18:View, water slide, service, lobby area , dinner
Review 19:Only criticism would be the value of the poolside menu. Quite expensive for what you get but I guess you're paying for the experience too.
Review 20:Gorgeous property, huge rooms, very friendly and accommodating staff, super fun pool with great slide for the kids.
Review 21:There are not enough words to describe how wonderful a stay here can be. The hotel is spacious and welcoming. The grounds are exquisite. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very comfortable.
Review 22:The morning out-rigger canoe experience was impossible to book. We arrived on a Wednesday,.investigated booking on Thursday and there were no spots open until the end of the following week, after we were leaving. Suggest online pre-booking.
Review 23:All the restaurants have high quality, fresh and interesting food. i liked that there are options for all diets and preferences. Lovely small beach which almost felt private to the facility. Good access to most island attractions.
Review 24:We booked a suite with a king bed 4 months in advance. When we arrived we were told one was unavailable and they only had suites with 2 standard beds. Not great for a second honeymoon!
Review 25:Customer service was excellent. Nice gym. Great shuttle service. Spacious suite.
Review 26:Staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel set-up, the architecture, the "open plan" foyer looking straight through to the sea, the grounds and pools, the proximity to the beach, the food, all made for a beautiful place to stay. The location towards the end of the hotels lining the shore made it more secluded and private. (A free up-grade to a lovely suite was also very nice!)
Review 27:Only able to stay one night as our previous resort mishandled checkout. Next time we will book for two weeks at the fairmont.
Review 28:They upgraded our suite to an ocean view for free and honoured my presidents club membership within no issues.
Review 29:late cleaning room; 2 small beds instead of queen size requested; long distances to walk to get to things
Review 30:great food but exorbitant prices; lovely gardens; nice living area separate from bedroom; luxurious bath
Review 31:Room not ready at 4pm. Bed sheats too small for the size of the bed Bathroom with not enough air evacuation => Too humid after bath or shower, the humididty then stay in the bedroom. Good hotel but for the price (1000USD per night) it's not enough.
Review 32:Location, Pool, big room, good restaurants, shuttle service
Review 33:Kitchen facilities are limited. No kitchen utensils although microwave in kitchen there are no utensils to use.
Review 34:Fantastic staff members, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast setup is great. Lovely location with great pools and beach.
Review 35:The hotel was very uneventful. I have travelled all over the world and I have not experienced a tropical destination that had ZERO activities going On. I would even hope for New Years maybe something.... But the staff was rude and miserable that were at the "mini lounge" type area. The in room dining never came to collect our food when we called, it smelt up the room and we had ants everywhere. Because of that I will never go back to the fairmont again which saddens me because I have always been such a big fan of the fairmont hotels. Within four months we had spent $20,000 at two of your locations and were discussing before Hawaii to find a fairmont in New York for my upcoming art show. However after this last time..... I don't want to take my chances.
Review 36:I liked the beautiful scenery. The 24hr gym acess. The beautiful sites of Maui. The beaches the beach staff that helped with our chairs and our cleaning lady was awesome.
Review 37:- We arrived much earlier than the hotel's check-in time. Although they sent an email to expedite the check-in process, it DIDN'T expedite anything at all! We sat around and waited hoping to get our room in the next half-an-hour, so we could quickly freshen up and head out. We ended up waiting for 2 hours! What's the point of sending an email to us that was supposed to inform them of our arrival time to prioritize our room when nothing was being done about it. - There was a separate room for the toilet and housekeeping wasn't up to par as the room wasn't properly cleaned. - The sofa had a musty smell. - Room wasn't properly cleaned and checked as there were food left over in the fridge by the previous guest.
Review 38:- Grand views of the ocean - Spacious room
Review 39:What we didn't like was being on the second floor,it was very loud all the time and I'm a very light sleeper at times I could not go back to sleep.
Review 40:this hotel had a private beach and the facilities where clean, upgraded, and staff was there to accommodate and help.
Review 41:It's a little overpriced like everything in Wailea.
Review 42:The adults pool was a nice size and depth for swimming instead of just splashing around. The area around it is very pretty and ideal. Overall, the whole experience was really good.
Review 43:Price of food and drinks Slow and expensive drink service in the pool A mexico resort does better for a third of the cost
Review 44:If you want to go high end go here But you will pay a lot if you plan to eat in the resort you will spend around 300 a day just on food
Review 45:The bedding stuff is not breathable, made me awake several times during the night.
Review 46:The restaurant - Nick's fish market, is super outstanding, the steak is the best I've ever had. All other dishes are great!
Review 47:expensive in house services. I booked helicopter services that would have been cheaper had I bought it outside
Review 48:had such a great time here. They are incredibly helpful.
Review 49:There is only one jacuzzi and it is near the kiddie pool so for a resort of this size and quality it was surprising not to have one adult jacuzzi
Review 50:The rooms were spacious and you had internet access, a large bathroom, a huge balcony. The restaurants and bars, all of which we tried were top notch & they cleaned your toom several times per day
Review 51:chairs around the pool are an epic fail. Not organized or regulated well. Most chairs "reserved" by towel by 7am. Either play the game or sit somewhere else.
Review 52:Great food. beach is wonderful. Wonderful rooms
Review 53:The friendly staff. They went out of their way with a upgrade room for our wedding anniversary as well as treats for husbands birthday. The place is extremely clean, well run and the staff are willing to do anything for you.
Review 54:We would have to be really nit picky to find something so for a change, we will just say "nothing".
Review 55:The staff and services were excellent. The suites are beautiful and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the adults only swimming pool which is just the right size and shape for swimming lengths or just floating around. Deluxe!
Review 56:A restaurant server who was over the top in Ko. Too attentive! $6 for a latte. Beds were too soft.
Review 57:Suites, not rooms. Overall layout of property. Proximity to golf. Great pools, towels, suntan lotions. Lovely beach and waterfront walkway. Choice of restaurants. Very attentive, friendly staff.
Review 58:The Wi-fi situation isn't great unless you upgrade to the $20/day.
Review 59:This is our third visit, and we get consistent, excellent service every time. We especially like the size of the suites (they are all suites, I believe) they're about 900+sf, and a large lanai. The ocean view rooms are worth every penny. Amazing sunsets every night just from your room!
Review 60:Not that pleased with the additional $30 resort fee but I am seeing it more at resorts - way of the future I guess
Review 61:The adult pool - don't want to be with little kids on my vacation. The staff was fantastic - so helpful. All the restaurants are fantastic as are the others around in the area. A high level resort - worth the high prices.
Review 62:The food and drinks were expensive but everything is at Hawaii resorts.
Review 63:The location was perfect for dinners, shopping, and activities. The room was very spacious and the resort had everything you need to have a great time if you don't leave for the day.
Review 64:Pricey - not to say it wasn't worth it, but it was a very special occasion, so we really splurged. Wish we could always afford to stay at Fairmonts!!
Review 65:Luxurious, comfortable accomodations in a beautifully appointed hotel. Everything top notch. Attention to details great. Staff all very helpful and so friendly and professional. Gorgeous grounds and beautiful antiques everwhere.
Review 66:I love everything about this place. Sure it is pricey but there is a reason for it. You recognize it the moment you drive up you are someplace special. The Gaudiesque architecture and grounds are amazing. The pool has a fantastic 150ft water slide with great views of the hotel and grounds to the beach. All of the rooms are well proportioned suites which are appointed nicely. The staff are wonderful and helpful. Of all of the hotels I have ever stayed, this is my favorite one.
Review 67:Staff outside restaurants and spa are ok but not fabulous. Carpet in hallways worn and furniture in room reminiscent of 80s. It's expensive compared with other hotels in world - next time probably look at Four Seasons.
Review 68:The spa is fabulous, beach great and restaurants are good
Review 69:The beach is probably on 1000 yards long so you can't really walk in the beach, but I believe that is the case for most of Maui.
Review 70:We stayed in a deluxe ocean view suite, which had a balcony and an awesome view to see the sunset every night. We absolutely loved the room and the hotel facilities. The concierge desk was very helpful in planning our adventures. I would highly recommend.
Review 71:Crowded, lots of families and kids everywhere. Rooms a bit dated. the place is a bit isolated.
Review 72:Restaurants and bars were good for eating and watching the sunset.
Review 73:We got there pretty late, so I don't think we got the full service at check in as we would have if we arrived earlier.
Review 74:The place is beautiful. I love all of the Hawaiian flowers. The rooms are all suites and we had a fabulous ocean view! The lay out of the grounds are nice and the beach is close. Great staff!!
Review 75:Ants in room, plumbing so loud you couldn't hear
Review 76:Concierge help
Review 77:Tired property. Feels more like a 3 star
Review 78:Beach
Review 79:Nothing everything is nice
Review 80:The view
Review 81:Price. You get what you pay for but a little pricey on room service.
Review 82:Great service and place to stay. Texting for service is a great feature.
Review 83:These 'new' "resort fees" are ridiculous. Breakfast buffet was too high priced.
Review 84:Great Wailea location.
Review 85:A very spacious luxury hotel. The separate 'adults only' pool was a real bonus.
Review 86:Amazing staff and service was top notch
Review 87:Everything!
Review 88:Breakfast should be included in the price.
Review 89:Not one thing
Review 90:Location , staff, amenaties

Review 92:Great location, nice conceirege and convenient shuttle for travel in Wailea
Review 93:Relaxing and comfortable
Review 94:The hotel and property was breathtaking! Everyone on staff were very professional and friendly.
Review 95:Everything except the villas are pretty far from the beach.
Review 96:The suites are nice and functional for family of four.
Review 97:Location, on-site restaurants, service
Review 98:Quite expensive, pool area for families is smaller.
Review 99:Beautiful property, right on the beach.

Review 119:- Excellent service and staff - Friendly staff - Good amenities.
