Reviews for Hotel Jean De Boheme

Review 1:The wifi was spotty and I would repeatedly loose the connection.

Review 2:The breakfast was great, but pricey. The room was a little small, but just what we needed. The bathtub was great!

Review 3:The windows haven't been cleaned in ages on the outside...spiderwebs/nests were covered all over our windows, which resulted in a whole bunch of spiders in the room...(In the summer the rooms are very hot, without any airconditioning, there is no choice except leaving those windows open)which for me is unacceptable. As a couple we asked for a 2p. bed, instead we had seperate beds pushed next to another (poor quality). We didn't take the breakfast as it was too expensive. Even though our receptionist was friendly, there are two ladies at the reception/management? that are very unprofessional and unfriendly. They spend their time cursing and yelling on their staff in front of the guests. This hotel had its glory moments in the '90's but is now completely outdated, furniture, rooms, corridors, TV are very old, dusty and need to be refreshed!!

Review 4:The location of the hotel is ideal Bathroom was ok

Review 5:There is no shampoo and soap provided. You should ask it at the front desk. (Then the staff will give you a small shampoo-body soap.) There were more than 5 spiders at the ceiling of our bathroom. The menu of this hotel's restaurant is written only in French. If you're not a french speaker, you should check the menu in your room in advance with a dictionary or something (there is a menu in the booklet) The waiters rarely understand English.

Review 6:There is a private parking place with no extra cost. Wifi works very well. Our room has a bath-tub.

Review 7:Somewhat outdated styling in the hotêl and some places not "light" enough.

Review 8:Super location. Free parking which is a benefit in Durbuy as otherwise quite expensive. Our room with view on the Place aux Foires. Nice breakfast. Hair dryer , mini fridge available and also a safe in the room.

Review 9:Late arrival (after 20:00) and early breakfast (before 8:00) not possible. Ok for Leisure, not for business.

Review 10:As a business traveller, the holiday sensation of the small town.

Review 11:The upstairs hallways were a little warn...BUT once thru the door into our room, it was beautiful and comfy with a very large updated bathroom!

Review 12:The staff could not have been more helpful! Our check in was easy and quick with a nice friendly welcome! Check out was as nice..we even got great info on the perfect hike to start our day! Loved the free hotel parking too..they even let us leave our car there for the day after checkout.

Review 13:Situated in the centre of Durbuy is this reasonably priced hotel. It's comfortable and has private parking. The interiour is outdated but the beds are good and the toilets are clean :-). Overall the hotel has seen better days but is priced competative (€ 75,- Single room per night).

Review 14:Surly staff. Room phones that intentionally were rendered inoperable. Charges for a morning coffee that we had to make ourselves in the bar. Poor Wi-Fi. Town overrun by noisy tourists who were, apparently, drunken insomniacs.

Review 15:Location in picturesque Durbuy.

Review 16:Very very friendly, helped us with all our questions. provided us with all our requests, a perfect hotel that suited our visit to Durbuy.

Review 17:Breakfast only available after 8am.

Review 18:Very nice restaurant for dinner

Review 19:In need of some major refreshing/refurbishing.

Review 20:Pleasant Gentleman at reception, hotel has its own parking, prime location

Review 21:The woman at the reception was rather unfriendly and even rude.

Review 22:Good location in the middle of the centre, free parking at the hotel, cosy rooms

Review 23:Location difficult to get to. No parking available except public parking. The receptionist was rude and not interested in the client. Booking.com clients did not get directions how to get to the hotel in a pedestrian down town zone.

Review 24:Leaving early in the morning

Review 25:Not a 4 star hotel, the furniture and carpet is more like a 3 star. The window of my room was not closing perfectly and the Tv was not flat. Appart from that, I had to write 2 emails to ask if there was extra charge for sunday obligatory meal, finally received a telephone call but not an email confirmation. They didn't charge me, but i was close to cancel my reservation. The bed was not double even if asked, there were 2 small beds with 2 different duvets. Meals or breakfast are too expensive in the hotel.

Review 26:Location was excellent and the Parking for free was included in the price. The room was clean. Room rate was according to the area.

Review 27:We had booked a large room (XL, no. 84). The carpet was at least 35 years old and full of stains (we have pictures taken). The furniture, TV and wall covering is very dated. Before the windows were huge spider webs. The hall, stairs and elevator are dated also. The corridor is in the evening very dark and also here the carpet is full of stains. We could only book this room including an asparagus brunch (€ 48 pp) on the last day. We had to leave in the morning and therefore could not use it. In the evening at the bar, we had to find the bartender; we could not get nuts. The breakfast was poor: hot rolls were not refilled and there was no black tea. To summarize, this hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel and the price / quality ratio is very poor.

Review 28:Durbuy is a nice town for a one day visit and the location of the hotel is fine.

Review 29:The shower was in the bath and there was no surrounding curtain or glass shield so it was impossible to take a shower without splashing around a bit. Otherwise everything was good.

Review 30:We were given a pleasant welcome, we had asked for a double bed but found on arrival we had two singles. This was very quickly changed but it means the original instructions might not have been carefully recorded. Otherwise we were very happy there and the food was excellent and at a great price for Begium

Review 31:The walls were thin; I couldn't sleep due to the neighbors television and the noise from the restaurant beneath the room. The curtains had stains on them. The personnel wasn't friendly nor helpful. The wifi didn't work and even though they knew about it they didn't feel the need to fix it. It definitely didn't feel like a four star hotel.

Review 32:The hotel was quite old, rooms were old-fashioned,

Review 33:maybe just a little bit outdated. Personally I'm not too keen on wall to wall carpets.

Review 34:great location in centre of nice little town, possibilities to take walks starting from the hotel. Nice restaurant. The best vol-au-vent I ever had.

Review 35:Not applicable.

Review 36:This is a very smart hotel in a prime location on the edge of the Place aux Foires, in the centre of this pretty town. It offers a range of facilities, eg a bar, a lounge, a restaurant, a lift and a spacious front terrace. There is ample free parking for guests to the front and rear of the building, a real plus in Durbuy. My room on the front of the hotel was large and comfortable, with tasteful décor and an extensive view onto the town. The atmosphere is informal and the staff friendly and helpful, especially the young receptionist. Highly recommended.

Review 37:Just one small problem: automatic hall way light on first floor does not activate as it should, with result that hallway is complete dark at the point where there are steps down.

Review 38:Food and ambience where great.

Review 39:Five-day cancellation policy. Breakfast not included in the price. Otherthan that, the hotel is great!

Review 40:I had cancelled an extra room 10 min. Outside the (5 day) deadline forno penalty and initially they were going to charge me for the room, eventhough I was renting four other rooms, but upon further review theykindly did not charge me. I really appreciated their decision to notpenalize me and as a result have nothing but good things to say abouttheir fine hotel and will stay there again with my tour groups. Theirdecision to not bill me the extra money will result in them making muchmore money from my tour groups in the future.

Review 41:A small point. We wish there had been facilities in the room eg. kettle so that we could have had a late evening cup of tea. Many Welsh people are not coffee drinkers. We certainly are not.

Review 42:Loved every minute. Sad to leave. Staff friendly and kind always willing to speak English. A credit to them.

Review 43:I don't like pets so cannot tolerate a dog of owner in reception. Secondly, nowadays I expect flat screen TV in the room and clear information about wifi in brochure. Moreover I have chosen one doubel bed and I received two small next to each other. And as the last one - why I need go to the door to switch off the reading lamp at the bed?

Review 44:First of all the value in relation to price was very high. Secondly the location just next to main marketplace is big advantage. Free parking is a plus as well as staff speaking English which is not common in Durbuy. At the end I need to admit that room was quite big.

Review 45:Restaurant was closed and bar only remained open until about 8 or 9 pm. Whole town during this period (early December) was totally dead with only a few bars/restaurants open. Wouldn't recommend visiting this time of year but I suspect more activity towards Xmas.

Review 46:Hotel well placed in Durbuy. Room very good and lift available for those heavy cases.

Review 47:Absolutely nobody speaks english!!! The reception desk is usually empty, u have to wait for 5-10 minutes to ask your question. The restaurant menu is only in french too. I tried to speak italian also, but no result. So, we used a translator in our mobiles to make an order.

Review 48:The hotel is very nice and clean. The location is really great - in the heart of Durbuy. The rooms are very clean, made in provence style.

Review 49:The restaurant was more formal than our bike riding group preferred. The food and service were good but had more protocol than our group prefers.

Review 50:This is an upscale hotel in Durbuy or by any standard.

Review 51:as it was in the middle of a kind of a market (only hotels and restaurants around), it was quite noisy; there is no air-conditioning, not easy to stand when it is over 30 degrees

Review 52:the quality of food - the dinner at the hotel's restaurant strongly recommended

Review 53:A room was very small and decor and facility were dated. It was a like early 80s. Considering tariff I do not think it's good value at all. We will come back to Durbuy but not to this hotel.

Review 54:A1 Location. Parking space availability was excellent.Staff were friendly and efficient. Food and service at the main restaurant were very good.

Review 55:Very quiet, (weekday). There was no-one there, not even staff (most of the day). Probably busier in peak season and weekend.

Review 56:Location.

Review 57:Room could be a bit larger

Review 58:very helpful staff , clean and good restaurant attached

Review 59:Not a 4 star in my opinion, area very expensive and very tourist orientated.

Review 60:Nothing negative

Review 61:Great location and good value for Money

Review 62:Nothing

Review 63:The general warm and welcoming greetings on arrival.

Review 64:reception, the bed, service in general

Review 65:parkingplace

Review 66:Located in the heart of the city, easy to explore the city.

Review 67:Good hotel in central location of Durbuy. Food was of a high standard and the breakfast excellent. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

Review 68:Too touristy these days. Very noisy with lots of motorcycles. Not as charming as it used to be.

Review 69:Breakfast was excellent

Review 70:Location stunning, excellent rooms, lovely atmosphere downstairs

Review 71:Thursday evening - town and most of restaurants closed by the time wearrived at 10pm - and few venues take credit cards?

Review 72:Lovely cozy hotel

Review 73:wifi could have had a stronger signal

Review 74:Spiders in the room.

Review 75:The staff was nice. Nice location. Comfortable bed.

Review 76:Small, old fashion tv. Poor selection of channels. Unable to get wi-if in our room, very disappointing

Review 77:The location

Review 78:Service in the bar was slow

Review 79:Location was good and the parking was very convienient. The rooms werequite large for European standards

Review 80:The smell of dogs and absence of a kettle.

Review 81:Great location, helpful and friendly staff. The warm ambience.

Review 82:Well located. Comfortable. Friendly staff. Gourmet food, Relaxing
