Reviews for The Woodlands Resort

Review 1:The wirpool at the time we stay was raining and cool we were looking for that we found it was outside on the middle of the rain and cool that we spect it to found it inside.

Review 2:I like the the room tha cleaning and comfort

Review 3:The walls are a little thin, or my neighbor had his T.V. very loud. Also, it was difficult to get to my room with all my luggage, as there was no bellman and the room is quite a ways from the valet.

Review 4:My room was beautifully appointed with exceptional amenities.

Review 5:Loved the beautiful view from our room as we had a large window overlooking part of the golf course. The ducks and other birds were in abundance flying around and some even landing in the pond. The balcony from my brother's adjacent room made me want to sit out even though it was cold outside.

Review 6:Would like more in room refreshments, snacks, etc. More outlets for p,ug ins in living area of suite.

Review 7:Room clean, lines, fast room service with fresh tasting food. comfortable bed and furnishings. Exceptional service.

Review 8:I am not used to having to pay for silverware. I do understand that when you request something there may be a charge...but I was a little put out by it.

Review 9:I liked the amazing property. It was beautiful! You get such a feel of 'escape'. Great place to get away! Staff was very friendly. This may be a great summertime destination but it is as equally as nice in the off months.

Review 10:Your spa is fantastic but you need to move the reception desk out the door. While I relaxed in the "quiet " area, I could hear the receptionist answering phones and checking guests in and out. Not good for relaxation area. Could be one of the top spas in the nation if you fix this!

Review 11:The room

Review 12:The lack of parking, no microwave in room, the lazy river is poorly designed and the location of reception, signs and general layout is far from sensible

Review 13:Leaving

Review 14:Staff made my husband feel less than when my husband went to speak to the mgr in regard to our disappointment with our room & my husband said to the manager for $300 a night we expect for the room to arleast be clean & the bathtub to not be clogged & the mgr replied well actually sir you didn't pay $300 your wife did. However he immediately realized he shouldn't of said that & followed up with, too far? Really? Unacceptable & too late he should of known better.

Review 15:I requested early check in got there at 1:30 & was told would have to wait until 4. After walking the halls & seeing all the available rooms I called the front desk at 3pm to inquire & they called me back stating our room was ready. Walked in the find a big gold hooped earring on the floor in front of the bed then went to take a shower & the water was backed up had to call maintenance.

Review 16:IPad had wrong name, room wasn't clean for 2 days but the customer service represent I've gave us a Free night due to the inconvenience. We appreciated that but it again happened the next day. Why I don't know we did have a sign or anything in the for.

Review 17:The convenience of everything being family oriented.

Review 18:The bike trail was scary, then we heard someone was attacked on the bike trail. I could see that happening. All of the activities was far from the resort fishing and the golf course. We really got tired of walking and decided to go to the pool. The bar closed down the margarita machine earlier, and bugs began to bite us. I saw a mouse run across the property but that was not that bad. WE went to our room only to find out that there was no microwave to warm our food, so we went to bed. This was definitely not worth 211.00 dollars. I was very disappointed especially since it took me 4 days to get my receipt because we had to check out at 0430am to go to work. The room was warm

Review 19:the bed.

Review 20:They insisted on holding funds on a credit card even though we were paying cash. We requested a balcony room but got no balcony (they did switch the room for a balcony). We weren't informed of the $29 resort fee until we arrived. They did comp it at check in but when we checked out my husband had an issue being refunded. I ended up going back inside to resolve the issue. The breakfast we though was complimentary was actually $17 per person!

Review 21:That we didn't stay longer, no complaints here.

Review 22:Very accomadating, overall feel Comfort and friendly! The hotel is immaculate and the value was enormous! pools were a lot of fun! We will absolutely return!

Review 23:I've stayed here more than once, but there was no recognition as a returning customer. That has become the norm these days with other properties. Also, i asked for a late check out but the front desk clerk said no, no apology, just no.

Review 24:Beautiful atmosphere, top notch facilities and very comfortable, updated rooms.

Review 25:See above

Review 26:The property and grounds were superior. Wished their were more planned or group activities available. Meals were a little on expensive side for families.

Review 27:Wish there was an adults only pool and section to relax! Too many kids

Review 28:Mark who works in the kitchen was very attentive and just a doll to talkto. All the valet and bell hops were so nice.

Review 29:The room was beautiful and our view of the lake was outstanding. We loved the room service staff and the staff at the beautiful pool. We enjoyed also the valet! This is a wonderful place to go for relaxation and to feel spoiled.

Review 30:Valet parking. Those guys need to take their jobs a little more seriously (stop chatting and pay attention to your customers).

Review 31:Poolside cafe service was excellent! Really enjoyed the lazy river and the waterfall pool. Overall my family and I totally enjoyed our stay!!!

Review 32:The smell of the mulch was overwhelming at times. Smelled likedumpster trash.Encountered an extremely rude security guard. We had no idea that outside food and drink were not allowed at the pool. My kids have food allergies so I tend to always feed them myself. She told us of the policy and said we "should have known better based on the signs around the property, the information given us at check in and the signs in our rooms." We politely put it away and then I went around and found two signs near the pool with a litany of rules in very small print...the no food rule was #10 on the list. There was NOTHING in our room telling us this and we were told NOTHING at check in. I certainly would not have broken the policy had I known it. We would have eaten in our room instead. I understand that you want people to spend money on extremely expensive poor quality food and watered down alcoholic drinks at the poolside café but to assume that guests will know this--you need to do better job at informing them. And then maybe security could use a refresher course in hospitality.

Review 33:The pool area was phenomenal. Perfect for a fast family getaway. Valetand check in desk were very helpful and courteous.

Review 34:Overall our stay was great. I feel as if the prices for the rooms and meals was a bit on the high end.

Review 35:Loved the pool area and poolside service! Great attention to guests at the pool, checking in frequently. Loved the kids activities as well.

Review 36:Nothing was unpleasant.

Review 37:The staff really went out of their way to make us,feel welcome and be comfortable. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The pool facilities and lazy river was awesome. Breakfast was excellent. I would definitely recommend this location.

Review 38:The willingness to accommodate an early check-in was hugely appreciated after an overnight flight with small children. The pools were great, and activities for kids of all ages was wonderful.

Review 39:Wish pool had stayed open until 11:00pm. I have older children, so that's what they enjoyed, especially the lazy river.

Review 40:Loved the pool area and lazy river.

Review 41:Love the pool, the beds are so comfortable. Would love to see biking trails within the property. Food at the dining hall was great. Will go back soon. :)

Review 42:Parking is a long walk in the heat. Really a pain with all your bags.

Review 43:Went with a group of friends. Great facilities. Close to shopping and great restarants. Nice rooms.

Review 44:There was a private event on Sunday and it was so crowded that you could not relax at all especially on the lazy river .kids were pushing and swimming under you on the tubes and stopping which made it hard to just relax and float.we paid 300$ a night to enjoy and relax and we ended up leaving early Sunday because it was so crowded.the resort should have had the event Lon a week night or we should have been informed of how crowed and loud it might be

Review 45:Everything worked properly and was easy to get to.staff was very nice and attentive

Review 46:It would be nice (for this expensive resort) to provide a continental breakfast as a courtesy. Also, shuttle to and from events would be very welcomed since they are so close to the Cynthia Woods Pavilion. I went alone for the Dave Matthews concert and they were not providing shuttle back from the concert so I had to hire an expensive cab company to get back to the resort which is a mere 1.3 miles away through the woods... and since I wasn't sure how long the concert would be... I lost about 30 minutes of great music due to a pre-arranged pick up time.

Review 47:The place is absolutely magical... the staff is awesome.

Review 48:Cleaning staff entered our room about 9:15 AM, we were still in bed. Then re- entered not long after. Then hung around outside our door until we told them we would not be checking out until 12.

Review 49:The bed and pillows were awesome. Slept well.

Review 50:Did not like the confusion regarding the registration and separate building for rooms. Was not told where valet was or where to park.

Review 51:We liked the bed, however bathroom not to clean.

Review 52:I didn't like the rowdiness of the other guests particularly around the pool area. I have young kids and did not trust their safety amongst the drunken behaviour of other guests.

Review 53:I love the pool area and the lazy river. The food at the Woodlands Dining Room was good, particularly breakfast. The lunch/dinner menu was not extensive but it was good food.

Review 54:See above. Out in wrong spot.

Review 55:I needed a get away but still had to work. I have 2 phones. One Verizon and one AT&T brighter would keep a signal until I left the property. This was upsetting since I was there to rest. I had to leave for most of the day. The air conditioner whistled most of the time it was on and was difficult to control the room temp. Was either hot or freezing cold.

Review 56:Location is excellent. Quite yet close to major roads. Spacious, clean and stylish.

Review 57:Facility and location

Review 58:Hotel is huge, facilities are great, rooms are large and comfortable

Review 59:The hotel staff was very helpful, and the room had an amazing view.

Review 60:No lower-cost option other than expensive breakfast buffet.

Review 61:Outstanding value for the money.

Review 62:really nice hotel and very friendly staff

Review 63:It could have been cheaper but i'd pay the 199 to stay again.

Review 64:Atmosphere, Activities, People, Location

Review 66:Enjoyed everything.

Review 67:Water area is wonderful ! Rooms are comfy. Worth. Every penny

Review 68:Too short of time. Wanted to be there longer than I was.

Review 69:The spa facilities

Review 70:Need more social or activities in the evening time. Another restraunt not as expensive as steak place.

Review 71:We booked same day and it was available. We enjoyed all the activities. And got an extended check out

Review 72:None

Review 73:It's always great staying in this resort! Everything is great, we'll be back again soon with more friends!!!

Review 74:Everything was excellent.

Review 75:i liked the outdoor café/bar and round trip shuttle to concert

Review 76:Long walk to room in outside conditions.

Review 77:Fabulous rooms although removed from restaurants/bar

Review 78:Lazy river, pool area, quiteness, relaxing.

Review 79:Had some issues with WIFI connectivity. No microwave in room.

Review 80:Staff was excellent. Super nice and very accommodating.

Review 81:Enjoyed the pool!!!

Review 82:self parking inconvenient.

Review 83:the staff, cleanliness, water features, beautiful

Review 84:Nothing

Review 85:Everything, especially the entertainment for the kids.

Review 86:The waterpark is included. Anywhere else you'd have to pay separately for the hotel and park.

Review 87:The entry level pool for 1 year old and lazy river for 4 year old

Review 88:It was the perfect trip for my girlfriend and I first resort and spa. We would love to come back.

Review 89:Pricey

Review 90:lots of kid activities, very nice rooms, great lazy river

Review 91:there where no signs showing how to follow jogging trail.

Review 92:room had a big bathroom and shower. property was very clean.

Review 93:How expensive golf was. Hoping that they would do deals with people staying at the resort.

Review 94:How nice everyone is

Review 95:Parking areas are far from the suite buildings.

Review 96:Pool area and children activities. My son had a great time and wants to return.

Review 97:Inadequate parking

Review 98:I didn't like that the breakfast wasn't complementary

Review 99:Every thing was clean and in the order! The bed was comfortable I didn't want to leave it!! The staff was helpful and nice!!

Review 100:bad experience with staff

Review 101:The weather!!!

Review 102:The service is top notch and the layout of the facility makes you feel like you are the only one there.

Review 103:We have nothing negative to say about our stay there.

Review 104:Everything! Kids has fun, we had fun. Everyone was friendly.

Review 105:Not resort-like. Advertised a lazy river and it was not completed. No organized activities that typical resorts do. Separate buildings off the main building, prohibited activities in club house. Would not recommend or stay here again.

Review 106:Very friendly, accommodating staff. Room was quiet and beds were comfortable.

Review 107:The accommodations were old. Even though the room was clean, I felt for the price, we could have had better accommodations.

Review 108:The pool area is great and we enjoyed the food we purchased poolside.

Review 109:Front desk clerk Amanda Other then that I was satisfied with everything my step son said it was better then six flags and Disney put together he loved the wild life!

Review 110:Everything

Review 111:hard to navigate roads, signs are not clear, Rooms are older and could use some updates

Review 112:Staff was accommodating and very friendly, spacious rooms, plenty of parking, clean, comfortable beds

Review 113:Construction was a bit much and the price for the room was a little much if it was a little cheaper than the likely good of more visitors or visitors revisiting would be higher.

Review 114:Smokers near front door was VERY disturbing. Shouldn't be Allowed to smoke anywhere near the entrance...just a few feet away isn't a good place. Smoke blows right to entrance.

Review 115:Considering the construction work, the room was WAY overpriced. Very inconvenient. Prior experience was in the smaller gray buildings about 6-7 years ago, and was a very peaceful experience. This time I was in the big building. The construction was noisy and not what I was expecting AT ALL. I was disappointed.

Review 116:The deco and feel of the resort are very outdated. We booked because of the tennis courts but they are not included in the stay. You have to pay to use them.We were meant to stay for 6 nights but landed up only staying one night and moving to a different accommodation in the area which had more facilities for the same money

Review 117:The double room had two double beds rather than queens, so it was a bit cramped. There was also some hair in the bathroom. The restaurant menu was a bit limited and expensive.

Review 118:It was quiet and a beautiful setting with a nice lounge area.

Review 119:When I arrived, TV not working. When I called - someone said "did you try plugging it in?" (not usually something u have to do, and a little offensive sounding) I said I actually did look to see if plugged in, but appeared to be in at both ends. Problem was that it was not pushed into TV well, easy fix when someone came. Also hair dryer basically caught on fire and died. New one was brought and handed to me at door- left the old smelly one hanging on wall and new one was a wall hanging kind, but was not attached to wall for us. Second night we had two adjoining rooms - when my husband joined with other children. Checked in but no one opened the adjoining lock for us. had to call about this too. Came semi-promptly. When doors were opened - black dirt (or mold?) on door frame all way around - like it hadn't been opened in while. 60 degrees in room - waited 3 hours - did not warm. (30's outside) Heater didn't work - maintenance came - fixed it - thankfully so we did not have to change rooms at 8pm in cold rain. Will never again stay in the old part of this hotel. perhaps things better in newer wings (where we have stayed in past without problem.) Only reason we stayed in old part was the suggestion on their website said it would be better due to construction near the new side rooms.

Review 120:Woodlands Dining Room

Review 121:The fact that we didn't spend a longer time utilizing all the hotelhad to offer. Sad to leave! Did get an extra charge on our bill in thebar and the bartender argued with my friend saying she ordered 2(coffee) drinks; when she didn'T. What happened to the"customer is always right" motto? The other bartender did comeover to talk with us and apologized for the other bartenders behavior;so that made up for it.

Review 122:Didn't stay but only 1 night and didn't take advantage of allthe ammenities; but waking up in the morning and sitting out on thepatio overlooking the lake was beautiful and relaxing. We were fortunateenough to have private entertainment in the bar from one of theperformers who performed at a nearby venue and was staying in the hotel- nice!!! Oh, and the hotel rate was phenominal...want to go back(especially at the rate we got).
