Reviews for La Copa Inn Beach Hotel
Review 1:n/a. Loved this place. Great place to stay with young kids (I had my 14 yr old, 9 yr old and 11 month old).
Review 2:The breakfast was awesome- omelette station was fantastic. also had waffles, cereal, eggs, etc. basically something for everyone. location was very good- close to stuff on the island. Also, nice private entrance to the beach which was clean. Pool and hot tub looked good- they have a nice little store inside the hotel with plenty of stuff you may need. We loved the starbucks inside the hotel. Also- walls seemed nice and thick- didn't notice thuds from people above us. Also- beds very comfortable and comforters were thick. Also very generous with # of pillows per bed. The value was good but I was travelling in January- so not sure how much room costs are in the summer time when it's peak travel season. All in all this hotel is great. They had a sign in the room that explained that they have some holiday packages which seemed awesome-
Review 3:Hot tub was freezing as well as the pool. Continually asked staff to fix it and they said they would get it looked at and fixed and yet the whole stay it wasnt. Told we were to have a room with a jacuzzi and it was just a normal tub. Asked staff and they told me I was only supposed to have a room with a bath after they told me when I checked in it would be a jacuzzi. Overall worst hotel experience I've had.
Review 4:size of room
Review 5:there were not rugs or carpets anywhere which is understandable in beach front hotel, but the halls were very, very loud. the ceilings are high so every sound bounces off the walls. it was loud all day and all night of our 4 night stay. The breakfast was probably the worst part of our stay. It was unorganized, the staff was not friendly (except the front desk hostess), the far was mediocore at best.
Review 6:we did think the location was good and easy to get to from the bridge and other attractions. The hotel was clean and our room was clean. The atmosphere was very family oriented which was great, but we are an older couple so there were lots of kids and dogs around which was pleasant, just not what we were looking for. The value was good.
Review 7:The bar in the lower level. Margaritas we're disgusting. My ocean view was a small sliver between the next hotel but the room was nice. The bathroom needs redone. Ugly sink and knobs.
Review 8:Best continental breakfast I have ever had! Loved the omelette station with the homemade tortillas.
Review 9:Walls are paper thin, we had to listen to a party next door for most of the night,we called staff two times to please move us,as we understood the new years eve party next door, we just wanted to be moved to another room, the hotel staff told us it they were unable to locate another room for us. Huge hotel,we are unconvinced that NO other room was available.
Review 10:Very nice hotel
Review 11:A few more free weights in the gym.
Review 12:We liked the room very much. It was the perfect size for my wife and me. A very nice ocean-front view, made for relaxing morning coffees and romantic star gazing in the evenings on the large balcony. Our bed was very comfortable. Sleep came easily for us. We had much paperwork to complete and the desk and table provided were of ample size. As much as I hated to let business take away from our time relaxing, I was glad we had pretty surroundings in which to do it. The hallways looked freshly painted and someone was cleaning and freshening them up several times a day. We never saw a dirty hallway or lobby at anytime. The staff were very, very nice and conscientious. Everyone always greeted us with smiles and hello's. We received fast and friendly service. Breakfasts were very good. The gentleman that greeted us in the dining hall was very courteous and helpful. He pointed us in the right direction to get our meal served up just the way we wanted it made. It seemed all staff members were multi-lingual, something we're not used to experiencing, often, way up north. I was very glad to see that. This is an older building which, for us, gave it a bit of charm we weren't expecting. I've been in the real estate business for over twenty years and have never experienced a pristine building. But, for its age, this place impressed me. We would, definitely, book our next stay here. We had a very pleasant visit.
Review 13:Did not like to pay $11.00 per drink.. but later thinks that the bartender made some extra cash. No one paid what we did the highest was $9.
Review 14:Everyone was very friendly and the place was very clean. Love the room and the beach. :) Breakfast time this guy that waited on us was named Lee, he was very friendly and always took care of us. He made our day.
Review 15:Hot tub was not hot, just warm, at night when you want to use it. This not good enough for December when we stayed here.
Review 16:Friendly staff and great breakfast Large room, nicely furnished Modern facilities, décor.
Review 17:Our room was given right below Breakfast room and that causes lot of noise in our room from early morning. Property needs upgrade. Bathroom sink, flush was not working properly. Costly compare to low functional equipments they have in room
Review 18:Location. Private access to Beach, Breakfast
Review 19:Jacuzzi in my room didn't work (no air to jets), no wash cloths for all three days,
Review 20:Staff is A+, breakfast is also excellent, and location is very convenient
Review 21:TV was missing remote control sensor. This is necessary to make whole trip relaxed.
Review 22:Continental Breakfast Items (Omelets, Juices, Dairy Drinks, Waffles, Mexican Mains, Fresh Flour Tortillas, Fruit, Cereals) Pool and Hot tub. Outdoor Recliner/Non Recliner Chairs. Bar indoors/outdoor available. Place has walkway that runs from hotel to edge of ocean. Noise Ambient Pleasant !!
Review 23:As the hotel became crowded the hot water just disappeared. The hotel was also quite noisy. Restaurant staff was not too happy about the many guests...
Review 24:If you could make awesome drinks at the bar, more people will go.
Review 25:I liked the new remodeling and the atmosphere. Staff and employees were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant prices were reasonable and great. Bar was okay. Very family oriented.
Review 26:The night we arrived I was told by the staff (gentleman) drives a black mustang. If I would have called I would have got the hotel for 30% cheaper, what was sad I called and no it was not I ask if he would give me a better deal and he said he was unable to. Was also talk by this young man that the major of SPI owned this hotel.
Review 27:Location, wave stop, staff was awesome Lee was just funny made my day.
Review 28:The balcony was not very good. Not enough room to set, really
Review 29:The breakfast was wonderful all the staff especially Lee,were great. We enjoyed our stay.
Review 30:Loved our stay no complaints.
Review 31:Everything about this hotel was great. Clean large room w/jacuzzi tub, comfortable bed & pillows, made to order hot breakfast... THE BEACH acess and view...PRICELESS!!
Review 32:I loved the hot-tub, heated pool, boardwalk to the beach, Starbucks in the lobby, Jazz music playing in the lobby, La Copa Cabana's fish tacos, Temperpedic mattresses, ocean view from the balcony--what's there not to like?.
Review 33:From the front desk associate Ms. Pressley, Lee in the breakfast buffet cafeteria, clean comfortable rooms, two night stay was simply wonderful. Would highly recommend.
Review 34:Restroom was not so clean..
Review 35:I loved the beach was just walking distance from the hotel. I loved the breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy.
Review 36:At the time there was a "red tide" which was horrible for our allergies but worse yet for my severe asthma. I wish the hotel would have notified us of this when we got there and maybe even supplied their guests with masks.
Review 37:The resort was gorgeous. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was awesome.
Review 38:Room was not ready at Check-In. In fairness, I was about an hour early, but when you have spent 8 hours on the road traveling and the hotel will not allow the check-in... . Meh. Staff did not immediately greet me upon entry. There was an issue with the naming convention in their system that incorrectly listed me with my first name and my wife's maiden name. Took WAY longer than it should have and I had to provide the actual confirmation to prove the reservation. We unfortunately came during a 'Red Tide' season and it was difficult to breath without coughing. Although, we recognize this is not the Hotel's fault, it diminished our stay somewhat to indoor activities.
Review 39:The view ~ It was spectacular!! This is obviously an older hotel. Price was pretty good for the room we stayed in and it had a Fridge and Microwave, Coffee Maker and Safe. Without those little extra's, Uhm, my 'Comfort' Rating would have been lower. Daily breakfast was really good.
Review 40:Only 2 dislikes were lack of washcloths in bathroom and sitting area on balcony somewhat small.
Review 41:Loved Starbucks inside hotel. Staff was accommodating and helpful. Late check in availability a plus as we arrived at 230 AM.
Review 42:I didn't like the utensils being used for Breakfast. Better quality utensils would be nice.
Review 43:That it was right by beach. It was very clean in and out
Review 44:That they had redtide and couldn't enjoy the beach..the beach was full of dead fish...
Review 45:Like that Lee treated us as family and attended us as royals. 5 stars
Review 46:Not a bad experience, but we're painting rooms around us, smell was strong, know they are updating, but might have been better to close that area.
Review 47:The view from our ocean facing room. Breakfast was great. Access to beach.
Review 48:little older hotel but they were doing improvements. Not sure about the blue paint but loved they kept the chandelier
Review 49:Staff was very friendly.! Breakfast was good, Lee in the dinning area was awesome. We were greeted every time we walked through the door.
Review 50:Noisy, there is no sound proofing between rooms or hallways. You hear your neighbors and the ice machine all night. Our room was shabby; paint, furniture, linens, fixtures- all badly worn. Smelled like disinfectant. A/C sounded like a train in our room. Ceiling fan and safe didn't work. Beds were like Concrete! I was awake and miserable ALL night. Bathroom was cramped and gross and there was NO hot water.Pool lights shine in room all night so you can't even enjoy ocean view (or sleep). They have a "no refund" policy that is a sham. We will N.E.V.E.R. set foot in that establishment again. I think the poor staff is embarrassed by the product. Spare yourself the anguish and find another place to stay.
Review 51:The staff is friendly but helpless.
Review 52:Staff is very polite, always well mannered with a smile on their face. Breakfast food is great!! Nice view from outside the window even if you are not facing the ocean because no matter what window you look out of, you WILL see the ocean, it surrounds the island and you can view it from any window. Parking access is easy. It is very close to all the tourist stores
Review 53:Pervert workers (painters) were talking and staring at women in Spanish. You need to do a better job cleaning the rooms if you going to allow dogs in them. Was moved to another room same problem. Also loud banging coming from upstairs room. Complained to front desk. They said it was the painters and it couldn't be them because they were just painting.and they would go check it out.
Review 54:Nothing. Would off left but I already paid for the room.
Review 55:Music and kids in motel a bit loud, but that can be expected anywhere.
Review 56:Just a simply perfect stay in every way: staff, room, view.....what more can I say
Review 57:We didn't get the room we requested. No seeing the ocean. Maidsdecided not to clean our room our last day. Had to call for them about 6pm. After we left got a call from them... Charging us $200 more. Theysaid we smoked in the room. We didn'T. Then the girl hung up onDanny. Lack to have never got the manager to talk to. She was as bad. They said that there was no ashtray outside, but there was and they saidour room smelled like smoke and they knew we had smoked in the room....We didn't and if we had the smoke alarm would have gone off. I willnever go back there and have written a big thing about it on facebook aswell as to them. And I will follow up in a letter when I get home. Youdon't call customers liars and then without their ok, take $200 moreout of their checking account. They are horrible!
Review 58:At first everyone was so nice. And it was a nice big room.
Review 59:The beds and pillows were almost firmer than I'd prefer, but that's just my preference.
Review 60:The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also the view from the boardwalk was great, perfect for viewing the sunrise and sunset.
Review 61:Wasn't told there was construction going on in both rooms beside us. Also in the room above us. Lots of noise moving stuff, hammering, and some type of drilling. So annoying. Ice machine on our floor(outside of our room) was not working so had to go to the floor below us to get ice. Spoke with a person at the front desk that looked all of 20 years old who said he was the manager and nothing was done about ice machine nor construction noise. Hot tub dirty.
Review 62:I liked that it was very close to the beach.
Review 63:nothing that I didn't like.
Review 64:The facility was great, but the staff made my stay, a perfect stay. All the staff greets you with a smile and are more than willing to help you in any way.
Review 65:We had a very enjoyable stay at La Copa Inn. The rooms were spacious, the whole facility was freshly painted and kept practically spotless, all staff were friendly and helpful (especially the gentleman in the breakfast room), and the location is excellent. A boardwalk connects the pool area directly to the beach. Our stay included days when the hotel was half empty (after Labor Day) and when it was full to capacity (Labor Day weekend) and our opinion was the same under both sets of circumstances. The Inn has some ties to the Hilton Garden Inn but provides better value for money.
Review 66:Parking was horrible. Lots of cars without lacopa mirror tags. Lots of drunk people in the pool and lots of people without wrist bands. Refrigerator wasn't cooling and room ac unit not cooling..
Review 67:Location was ok
Review 68:Limited parking, wifi didn't work well very slow, elevators were slow, balcony with view only of Peking lot and building next door would of loved to have atleast a partial beach view.
Review 69:Location was great, easy access to the beach! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Activities in lobby to sign up to do like fishing, snorkeling, etc..
Review 70:people were in the swimming area, shouting, laughing loudly all night. no action was taken from the hotel. Make sure you book a room far from the pool if you want a quiet night.
Review 71:location
Review 72:Wifi was the worst hotel wifi I've experienced. I have a low expectation, it just didn't work in our room. Bed was advertised as a tempurpedic, as a owner of a real tempurpedic, this bed was quite possibly the worst I've laid on in my life. Breakfast was cold and not good. Cleanliness was sub-par.
Review 73:Location was great
Review 74:In room 116 you could hear the elevator but it wasn't that bad.
Review 75:Very clean. Someone was in the hallway cleaning every time I walked our of my room.
Review 76:Was a little upset that I had to leave a couple of days early because of health reasons. The hotel would not refund me for the days I had left.
Review 77:It was a wonderful stay, as we were only steps away from the beach. The room was nice and clean, dining and shopping were very close to the Hotel.
Review 78:Tad bit too much chlorine in pool.
Review 79:Excellent breakfast. Nice selection, great omelette bar. Price during week was great, location on beach, amenities, size of room. Pet friendly and parking on site.
Review 80:The upfront staff doesn't help people standing around. They just continue on to their writing on little breakfast pages rather than taking my checkout keys. I stood there for 10 min before I finally asked them myself if I'm just suppose to drop the keys off or if someone takes them. The guy looks at me dumbfounded like he had no clue what to do then said I'll take them and set them on th counter and continued his breakfast pages.
Review 81:In the King suite there isn't enough drawer space. There was plenty of space to allow for more drawer space.
Review 82:The view from the room was beautiful. The bed was comfortable. Was nice to have the fridge and micorwave in the room.
Review 83:The pool was a bit crowded so we never got to use it. We had the beautiful beach and ocean to enjoy, so not going in the pool really was not a big deal to us.
Review 84:The location was great; right on the beach and within walking distance to some of the highly rated restaurants. It was very clean for being a beach property. The staff was constantly maintaining the floors.
Review 85:It's very crowed. The pool is always packed and kinda hard to relax. At breakfast same thing, kids just running around crazy but the omlet was very good. There is a long wait for the elevators but we just used the stairs most of the time and wasn't a big deal.
Review 86:I was kinda of nervous about staying here after reading some of the reviews but overall we enjoyed our time here.
Review 87:The chairs in the dining room are filthy. It was a daily search for the least disgusting chair available.
Review 88:Updated ocean front view room was beautiful. The breakfast was great. Made to order omelets were a nice surprise.
Review 89:Staff are young and inexperienced. Some are quite rude in fact. Received additional charges on my credit card which remain unresolved.
Review 90:Breakfast was great, awesome location right on the beach, facility is really clean and well kept.
Review 91:Maid service left one towel the first day and no towels the second day. Call to front desk the first day did not result in getting additional towels. Went to lobby to get towels second day, no apology, no "we'll look into it and see what happened",,,quite frankly they appeared to have cared less. Could not find the breakfast at first and it ended up being mediocre for a full hotel. Staffing appeared minimal for a fully occupied hotel.
Review 92:Beds and bathroom were clean. Hotel is right on the beach with easy access. They have security now that keeps the non guests out,,,esp in the swimming pool area and parking lots. It's a bargain so I'll be back because the beach is the attraction.
Review 93:During my stayed, I never got shower towels. I understand 1 day but all 3 nights with no towels at all! I had to go pick towels at the bar down on 1st floor and they were very thin towels that people use at the pool. I stayed in room 316 and it was next to where clean ladies pick all the cleaning tools and it was like if they were having a party, loud noises & nonsense laughter, yelling between them! It was not nice at all!
Review 94:The check in process was a bit ridiculous. They didn't have our room ready for us at 3:00 so we were given a different room and had to move the next day, but that was okay with me.
Review 95:Loved the location, it was RIGHT ON THE BEACH, breakfast was excellent and the staff was VERY nice.
Review 96:only negative is we didn't have towels and washrags for 2 days and the cleaning crew and front desk never brought it...we had to use the extra beach towels we had brought instead...that was the only negative
Review 97:awesome location, friendly staff, awesome breakfast, great room and view, excellent beds, easy access to beach, easy access to all restaurants and shops....family friendly and enjoyable..great experience at la copa inn like previous year
Review 98:Not well managed for a resort, grossly understaffed, staff could not keep up with demand for towels; not one washcloth available during our entire week-long stay and only half towels (medium face cloths) available much of the time. Breakfast area grossly understaffed with the few folks working overwhelmed by the number of guests to serve which translated to very slow service. Bell carts for check in/out used by guests for transporting good to the beach and pool while guests at check in/check out not able to load or unload into the hotel or doing it by hand as we did. This resort needs professional hospitality staff/training and/or new management.
Review 99:Facilities and location are great.
Review 100:The wifi is very, very slow. :-(. The phone was not working properly. The resturant closed to early.
Review 101:The room was very good and breakfast was awsome because they cook foryou.
Review 102:Nobody took responsibility who was wrong or to make it right
Review 103:Didn't was horrible I was double book didn't stay at la coppa inn it was a disaster me and my family looking to stay elsewhere keep in mind I reserved six months in advance. My family vacation turned into screaming shouting etc
Review 104:Broken ac unit. Stairway handle rails not welded, unsafe. Housekeeping leave trash and cleaning carts in front of room door. Parking is extremely horrible. Very expensive.
Review 105:Breakfast. Close accommodation to public beach.
Review 106:Our room location was terrible!!! On the first floor with balcony close to outside pool tables(noisy). Also shared a wall with the bar!!!! Need I say more?
Review 107:The location of the hotel was good. It was very clean. Great access to beach!
Review 108:Hot Breakfast was kinda a joke it was ham, eggs and beans , omlets were available if u wanted to wait 30 min in line. But overall it was free! Wifi was bad didn't work most of the time. Wished they would have provided beach towels instead of threatening to charge you for using pool towels at beach.
Review 109:Location close to beach, had a bar on premise, nice pool didn't use but it seemed sufficient enough. The room was well taken care of.
Review 110:They told us they rotated what was on the breakfast menu every day.We found this was not the case. The food was great but a little more variety needed from day to day.
Review 111:We love beach hotels but have stayed in places that were really nit picky about little things. Not here.Absolutely loved the way things were done.
Review 112:Beach front view. Also hotel in the middle of everything to do at SPI. Excellent stay, staff very friendly. Breakfast was so so wish there were more food choices.
Review 113:The wifi is useless. Could not use it during our three days there. The "pool view" room puts you on ground floor. We had to keep curtains closed the entire time.
Review 114:I like the location of the hotel and the cleanliness of both the rooms and the general area. Loved direct access to the beach.
Review 115:Didn't like being questioned by security officer while in the pool if we belonged there. There needs to be more communication with staff at check in to ensure that guests have the proper bands and so forth to indicate that they are guests. We were not given that info until our 2nd day there after being questioned by security.
Review 116:Great place to stay. Free breakfast and Starbucks in the lobby, there's no need for much more.
Review 117:In 2 room suite guess must walk thru master bedroom to get to bathroom.
Review 118:Free breakfast, good value for money, walking distance to beach, able to get 2 room suite
Review 119:I didn't like the staff from the cleaning lady to the security in the swimming pool. The way they talk to people . Horrible I saw a lot of people complaining especially about the security guard. Not a pleasant vacation at all.
Review 120:Location
Review 121:The pool water was to warm.
Review 122:The staff was really nice. The rooms were clean and spacious. Location to beach excellent and convient. Breakfast was delicious.
Review 123:Not a complaint just informing others if your on the 3rd floor towards the front of hotel your under the dining room and the foot traffic is noisy from 7-10am
Review 124:The rooms are huge the staff is plenty and professional the outdoor pool has plenty of seating and just a short walk down the boardwalk over the dunes and your on the gulf .. loved our vacation!
Review 125:the walls must be paper thin, the noise was terrible, could hear everything the "neighbors" were doing, also the upstairs "neighbors". the "free" breakfast was a joke.
Review 126:the location, close to the beach
Review 127:Balcony quite small but enough to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Parking, while available, can take a long walk to get into the Inn.
Review 128:Location, facilities, staff.
Review 129:Our room in particular had hair everywhere. I took it upon myself to clean it up but that didn't work. I tried explaining to the cleaning woman but she hardly understood English.
Review 130:I loved that it was just off the beach. We could leave our room and within minutes be right on the beautiful beach.
Review 131:We stayed on a 2 bedroom suite, it could be updated.
Review 132:We enjoyed the pool, water was clean and refreshing. The concession stand had good food and reasonable prices. Beach front was awesome. Free breakfast was a nice addition. Friendly staff.
Review 133:Terrible cold water pressure. Jacuzzi tub jets need cleaning. Balcony too small and ice machine didnt work.
Review 134:Awesome 4th floor corner room. Huge! Beds comfy.
Review 135:The staff was cordial but the only one who was extremely friendly was the bartender/cook. The staff can make a place and most fell short. The owners should be there making sure everyone was "on". Not leaving it to the babysitters. Breakfast was subpar.
Review 136:Great view and clean room!
Review 137:When we got there we had a problem that was quickly resolved by your front desk manager for that day and the general manager for that day. All of the staff were awesome.
Review 138:The size of the pool is not adequate for the number of guests/children. Overly crowded most of the time, loud late at night. Was not able to enjoy the pool with friends.
Review 139:Our room was a good size, the bed was comfy. Staff friendly and helpful. Was happy to see security at the hotel.
Review 140:Parking for handicap is all but nonexistent. The week my wife and a stayed there there was not even one handicap space avsilable. The closest space we vould find was 50 yards from the hotel.
Review 141:Location and breakfast service
