Reviews for Hills Garden Hotel San Bernardino

Review 1:The elevators need to be checked. Seem a little off track. I suggest putting more signs up to let guest know where the ice machines are located. The wall colors on the 4th floor were dark and not really welcoming. The nonsmoking signs on the doors needs to be the same on all doors. I suggest having your first 2 floors nonsmoking and the other two smoking. Smoke rises and the nonsmoking room still smelled like smoke.

Review 2:The young lady at the front desk was very friendly and personable. She greeted me with a smile and had friendly conversation with me as she prepared my room. I'm sad I do not remember her name however she only works the weekends so now I know what days to visit. The room was decent. Very spacious. The view from the balcony was pleasing. Never really seen San Bernardino from that viewpoint.

Review 3:Horrible Internet connection, very hard to get connected, when you do it's very slow and may interept. Bad quality tv picture and limited number of channels. Restroom has a really noisy fan.

Review 4:Walmart and many restaurants nearby within walking distance. Plenty of parking lots and it's free! Nice mountains view.

Review 5:Perfectly serviceable, all good.

Review 6:Clean, decent parking, nice staff. Very accomodating for last minutebookings, and we loved the "room service? Call dominos" roomkey. Big rooms! Great overnight stopover, maybe not a place for morethan a couple of days.

Review 7:Let me preface this by saying that I have stayed at this facility for many years. Up until 2 years ago, the Continental Breakfast was GREAT! But now is barely a breakfast... the usual coffee and juices, donuts and toast. NO more waffles and syrup or scrambled eggs with meat choices. I guess luggage racks are at a premium... I only counted 2 and when I went to check out at 4AM there were none to be found! GRRR! We had to move all our stuff in 3 trips from 3rd floor and we are not "young pups"! Last but not least was the unwanted "wake up call" at 7AM stating that the people below us were complaining about "all of the jumping up and down"! We can barely walk... much less jump up and down! I was still in bed to boot! LOL! Spent 3 nights this time around.

Review 8:Location, not too pricy, nice room and free WiFi (which is supposed to be free anyway!)

Review 9:It was uncomfortable I thought the room's would be a little more nice but obviously I was wrong.I could hear the people next to us at night (hint hint) overall it was not worth my money

Review 10:NOTHING REALLY,JUST THE LOCATION

Review 11:Everything else. This place needs major remodeling to attract guests. We walked in our room and was hit by the strong smell of Clorox I thought someone was trying to get rid of a dead body. Paint is chipping off the wall and tub in the bathroom, broken chain lock. Sad that such bad management for such a lively property.

Review 12:The location of this place is awesome, sitting on top of the hill. We got great view from ours room from the balcony.

Review 13:room was at 90° when we got there. Curtains wide open and AC turned off. Fridge was turned off. Need to put more coffee in the rooms.

Review 14:close to San Manuel Amphitheater and Highways. Nice and friendly staff. Free breakfast.

Review 15:The motel needs lots and lots of maintenance and and updating. The decor is old and very worn throughout the motel.

Review 16:The location was perfect for our needs. The swimming pool and hot tub were nice.

Review 17:I booked through a travel site. The Inn was not notified that we had a dog with us(not their fault). Because of the dog, we were moved to another room with smaller beds.We were charged $10 more for this and $25 more for the dog. The hotel seems really run down, kind of dirty, small money saving measures were notable, no conditioner,no lotion, no trash liners in bins. I do not feel we got the value for the money we spent.

Review 18:We were close to the event we were attending. They have a swimming pool, nice in 100 degree weather. Good location, yummy Mexican food close by.

Review 19:The windows in our ground-floor smoking room were not operable, which was rather strange, as there were many non-smoking rooms with balconies. No fresh air and heavy stench in the room.

Review 20:Days Inn San was close to San Manuel Amphitheater, a venue where a rock festival was taking place. The location was perfect for us as it was just about 5 miles from the festival site.

Review 21:We've stayed there before - it's gone down hill and needs to be refurbished. The towels were dirty - bathroom floor paint is coming off. That was our last time to stay there. Some very nice hotels are only 10 minutes away.

Review 22:Location

Review 23:There was a small dog barking in one of the rooms near bye.. Couldn't rest well.

Review 24:The fact that is on a hill

Review 25:Heater didn't work. Wasn't aloud extra bedding. Iron burns on the ground. Better not be charged for that.

Review 26:Very clean and great staff for the price

Review 27:It was over priced, hotel was outdated, beds were not comfy, I would compare this to a motel 6 with the price of ayres

Review 28:The staff was very friendly

Review 29:We had some stink bugs in the bathroom, there was only one way to access to the rooms, and the pool was green!

Review 30:The breakfast could be changed up a bit and not serve the same thing every day.

Review 31:The staff is very friendly and courteous.

Review 32:Hallways and rooms poorly lit. Towels were small and minimal.

Review 33:The bed was a bit lumpy.

Review 34:Staff very friendly and efficient.

Review 35:The bathroom was dirty and room smelled like cigarettes.Asked for first floor when booked a week in advanced. Was put on the third floor.

Review 36:Staff and security

Review 37:Nothing horrible front desk

Review 38:I liked how friendly the staff was

Review 39:That my room was on the 1st floor and it was really hot. & my room was small.

Review 40:Location.

Review 41:staff was unfriendly maybe too busy

Review 42:near by eating places and stores, cleaniness and parking security

Review 43:Stains on towels and around toilet seat

Review 44:I like the price , I guess you pay for what you get

Review 45:It was secluded quiet after a long day we were all able to relax.

Review 46:THE BATHTUB WAS PAINTED AND THE PAINT CHIPPING OFF IN TO THE WATER. THERE WERE WIRE'S HANGING OUT LOOSELY EVERYWHERE. THE PICTURES ON THE SITE SHOWS A NICE BREAKFAST BUT WHEN I WENT TO GET BREAKFAST THERE WAS TOAST AND CEREAL, SO MUCH FOR A HOT BREAKFAST.

Review 47:I LIKE THE BED AND THE BALCONY, SO FAR THE STAY WASN'T TOO BAD.

Review 48:Breakfast was a joke. warm milk, stale bread. Juice was gone. fruit was rotten. There was no breakfast other than waffles and the batter was so old it was hard.

Review 49:Staffing was over the top great.

Review 50:Older TV (pre-plasma/LCD screens), complimentary breakfast but he pastries all seemed to be day-old and the facilities were limited for the number of people that were eating breakfast.

Review 51:Late check out and the staff were courteous and helpful. Pool looked good but didn't have a chance to use it. It was very close to the IE Surf Soccer center, which was the purpose of our visit. Also, it is located in what appears to be a safe neighborhood, unlike downtown San Bernardino which is sketchy. Aslo, plenty of parking. Finally, the beds were comfortable.

Review 52:Rooms and bathrooms need some serious updating. Wallpaper peeling and cracked tiles. Sad...

Review 53:Dropping son off for college at UC San Bernardino. Excellent location. Check in was friendly and helpful, offered us a late check out option for a very reasonable rate.

Review 54:Our down time in the hotel we wanted to relax and watch TV and it didnt work, staff did come up and try to fix it still didnt work. We changed to another room and the TV had static on a lot of the channels.

Review 61:Continental breakfast choices rather poor compared to previous visits.

Review 62:Close to places I needed to visit.

Review 63:Rooms are outdated. Beds are very uncomfortable. Staff did not address needs of guests.

Review 64:Location to the event we were attending.

Review 65:The breakfast no enough variety

Review 66:allergy central

Review 67:location near highway inexpensive polite staff
