Reviews for Berkshire Hills Country Inn
Review 1:1. Smelly carpet - it beats me why one would use a carpet in the humid north east in a motel. 2. This is a motel, not a country inn 3. Price is very steep for the rooms. 4. Feels overloaded with unnecessary paraphernalia 5. Showers could be a little a bit better
Review 2:1. Very courteous staff 2. Clean and meticulously arranged 3. Willingness to accommodate late check in and early check out 4. Very hard working hosts 5. A lot of effort to create country atmosphere
Review 3:Name of property was deceptive. Not an inn, a motel with a bed and breakfast approach. Inadequate selection of extra pillows/blankets. Size of a king room quite small, especially the bathroom.
Review 4:Friendliness of owner, nice homey touches, good location off of highway and brookside gardens.
Review 5:This is NOT a country inn! It is a basic motel with a breakfast room. Rooms are dark and small. Bathroom is very small, dated and shower is tiny. Gardens are overgrown, not cared for and sparse. The old pool is dirty, peeling and unwelcoming. Garden furniture covered in dirt & mold.
Review 6:Property surrounded by lovely brook. Jill was very welcoming and engaging.
Review 7:We had a blanket with at least 10 holes in it. At breakfast a plate with 4 chips out of it. Buffet was out of many offerings. No decaf coffee and reg horrible!
Review 8:It was clean and comfortable, vintage 1960's.
Review 9:See above
Review 10:Very quiet and room was very clean. We checked in at night and were delighted to realize in the am that we were in a charming brookside location! Owner pleasant and professional, breakfast was fine. Only issue for us was that the bed was really firm- not what we are used to. The hotel was close to the Clark, which we visited the next day.
Review 11:Location is convenient for travelers and our room was at the back so away from the traffic which was great. The owner (?) was helpful and present if we had any issues - though we did not. Lots of lovely areas to sit on the property including by the pool.
Review 12:Loved the staff, very warm and helpful. Breakfast was nice and the space had a quaint cosy feel to it. The wooden balconies & decks were full of beautiful flowering plants.
Review 13:The grounds were breathtaking. The common room was welcoming and very comfortable. Simple furnishings in the room, but comfortable. Enjoyed visiting with staff and guests. Very personable and helpful, as well.
Review 14:The rooms are rather basic. The facilities are limited.
Review 15:The owners have tried to make the surrounds accessible to visitors. It has a gazebo and several seats facing the brook and forest.
Review 16:Over all , there was nothing that I didn't like
Review 17:Felt like a quaint motel/B&B with friendly staff and clean accommodations. We chose a room in the back and loved the privacy! Really cute property with nice grounds. I would stay there again. Purpose of trip was to enjoy my sister and bike the Ashuwilticook rail tray and visit Mt. Greylock! Very nice area and will be back in the fall! Saw a wonderful play "Man of La Mancha" basically down the road and Barrington Play house. I highly recommend.
Review 18:The rooms on the back side of the property overlook beautiful forested mountainside and rushing brook--a deer come bounding out of nowhere and disappeared in an instant!
Review 19:My friend's pillowcase got very dirty( possibly makeup) instead of changing it, the housekeeper just made up the bed.
Review 20:The grounds are gorgeous! There is a beautiful babbling brook & an gazebo!
Review 21:The sense of being away from it all, but still quite close to many of the activities. We are looking forward to going back and staying in a room facing the brook!
Review 22:Jill was very kind and considerate. the Breakfast room was spacious and comfortable with real food!! very hard to find these days. this place is a gem....
Review 23:The breakfast left a lot to be desired. They ran out of hot water for tea. Only had cold cereal and bagels. Couldn't have oatmeal since there wasn't any hot water.
Review 24:The staff was friendly and the room was comfortable. It was a little dated but it was fine for 1 night.
Review 25:Just a minor thing really: Since we were staying in with four people in one room, a sink outside the bathroom would've been convenient.
Review 26:Everything about this motel was good, but especially the staff! Daniel was super friendly and helpful and he even provided us with vegan breakfast upon request!
Review 27:room odor and shower - very small- had no bar to hold onto for safety
Review 28:hospitality of host and location - proximity to Williams college. Host Jill Ryder very knowledgeable of area.
Review 29:I had a room with shower only but not sure if a tub was available. Bathroom fixtures and wallpaper a bit worn. TV was a bit small but worked well.
Review 30:Jill was exceptional when asking for extra's. Bed was comfortable and location was great. I wasn't up for breakfast that was offered but like the fact they offered with your room.
Review 31:Cheeky staff. The room setting was like a walk out basement. Dehumidifier was on and the room had a slight musty odor. Website shows Inn in the summer and it is quite appealing. We were there on a couple of gloomy fall days and it didn't look at all like the photos! No "hearty organic bread" at the breakfast area.
Review 32:Convenient to Williamstown.Quiet.
Review 33:The pictures posted on Booking.com had to be at least 20yrs old! The actual room looked nothing like what was posted. Bugs on the wall, no hot water and beds that were at least 30 years old! You should give this a one star!
Review 34:Nothing!
Review 35:Television screen, my laptop had a bigger screen. Had to move it toward the bed in order to see it. The shower lacked power
Review 36:The most amazing beds, we have stayed at many pricey hotels and the beds were not nearly as comfortable, made for a great night's sleep
Review 37:Some protein at breakfast would have been nice.
Review 38:This is a modest attractive motel, nothing fancy or intimidating, just excellent value for the money. The proprietress was warm & helpful, beds were excellent.
Review 39:Room too warm, AC didn't work well. Bathroom door didn't latch properly, no exhaust fan in bathroom. Place needs work and updating.
Review 40:Breakfast room was comfortable, food and coffee good. Staff pleasant and helpful.
Review 41:Needs thorough cleaning ( behind the bed and in corners oldcobwebs w lots of dust), paint peeling in bathroom. Maybe worth $80 a night max. Terrible value for money.
Review 42:Very pretty property.
Review 43:Dated furniture and decor. Cat in dining area where food was being served. No prior indication of cat on property. Not good for people allergic to cats or for people eating food with cat on a table.
Review 44:The beds are uncomfortable, the TV was 20", the lights shown through the thin curtain in the glass door and the proximity to the road you heard cars and trucks all night. The complementary breakfast starts at 8 am long after we were on the road without even coffee. No need to look back, all in the rear view mirror.
Review 45:The breakfast buffet was poorly stocked, with no fresh fruit replenished (just a few pieces left), and an empty hot water carafe. the staff ignored the aspects of hospitality that are essential to a pleasant stay.
Review 46:The room was pleasantly decorated, and felt like one's own bedroom.
Review 47:Pretty spot. Comfortable bed, had a great sleep. The owner is very helpful which we really appreciated. We enjoyed watching a chipmunk and colourful birds feeding on the deck while we had breakfast.
Review 48:Lovely room, gurgling river just outside. Clean room, comfy beds and superfast wifi. It was getting cooler in the evenings, and the heating worked well. Breakfast was an extensive selection, lovely cakes as well as the usual fare. Jill was very friendly and helpful.
Review 49:Friendly staff. Good value option. Cozy. Nice selection for included breakfast. Games, books, and lots of info available. Beautiful green area near a brook. Not at all noisy though on a main road. Near to Clark, Mass MoCa, and Mt Greylock. Will return.
Review 50:- Beds too short - Rooms quite small - Breakfast could offer some more choice (no meats, real cheeses to put on your bread etc)
Review 51:- Nice pool - Nice green surroundings - Nice breakfast and seating area
Review 52:Small TV. Bathroom was awful! Shower was extremely tiny! Overall needs some updating
Review 53:Location was great. Continental breakfast was standard but attractively laid out. Nice to eat on the deck the next morning.
Review 54:The room was fairly dark. The carpet was stained. The shower was impossibly small. The bed was very hard. It was like sleeping on the floor. The pillows were flat. There was traffic noise. Absolutely impossible to obtain any cell phone connection with AT&T or Verizon. The house phone for long distance was not much better.
Review 55:A good location for one attending the Williamstown Theater festival. The owner was attentive when I had a problem with the room. The buffet style continental breakfast offered a reasonable selection of food. There were 3 chairs in the room The a/c worked well.
Review 56:Some road noise in roadside rooms but only a little in morning as the windows had additional glazing.
Review 57:Atmosphere calm, relaxing, nice location, friendly staff. Good vfm.
Review 58:Room was very small, reasonably comfortable but nothing special. It was overpriced for what it was. I didn't really get into the grounds so can't comment on that.
Review 59:room on the ground floor was really humid and presence of mosquito as the motel is just right by a lovely brook
