Waterbuck Game Lodge is situated in the Southern part of The Thornybush Nature Reserve, adjacent to a water estuary and waterhole. Ideal for exclusive use bookings, this lodge has a pool with a view of the bush veld, an intimate boma, and shared lounge with a fireplace.
Each suite has a wooden deck, offering up views of the water hole and bushveld. The suites at Waterbuck Game Lodge are air-conditioned, and have a minibar. They include an en-suite bathroom with an outdoor shower, and guests receive complimentary bathroom amenities.
The lodge boasts a lounge area with an open-plan dining room all under thatch, and walled with huge glass doors that open up into the bush veld. There is also a breakfast deck overlooking the estuary and a well-appointed bar.
Guests can go on guided game drives and bush walks. The area around the lodge is home to many animal species found within the reserve, especially Thornybush’s largest elephant herd.

Review 1：Our ranger Elia and tracker Ludrick went above and beyond to ensure we saw as many animals on all our safari game drives as possible. They were very experienced trackers that were far superior to those at the Kapama game reserve that we stayed at afterwards. Elia made our experience at the lodge one we will never forget.

Review 4：Waterbuck Lodge was incredible. All of the staff were extremely friendly and attentive - we were treated like royalty! The food was divine and plentiful. However our favourite part would have to be the game drives. Our ranger Ellia and tracker Loderick were very knowledgeable, fun and responsible. They helped us tick off all of the 'hard to find' animals we hadn't seen yet such as leopards and hyena. We felt extremely lucky to walk away with nothing left on our wish list! The thing we loved most about them though, was their care and respect for the wildlife. In other game parks we have visited, the animals seemed frightened of vehicles (probably due to some of the disappointing conduct we witnessed from rangers and tourists) and would run away - making it difficult for us to view and photograph them. In Thornybush, the animals were comfortable around the vehicles because they feel safe around them - due to many years of the rangers building relationships with them. This is what made our stay all the more incredible. We had a magical time at Waterbuck and can't recommend them enough!
