Reviews for Villager Motel

Review 1:Staff is great! We were several "older" alumni travelling back to college for a mini-reunion. We always enjoy booking together at the Villager. Feels like home.

Review 2:the room is very dasty,, too much clorine ,the door ifrom inside is very dirty, the cover of the bed is dirty, the bath room light is very noisy, the desk for the room is very big, wrong place for the microwave.

Review 3:it is very quet

Review 4:Little to no wi-fi, little to no cellphone service, rooms are outdated, lightbulbs are all yellow and there is horrible lighting, sheets smell and are very rough, bathroom has scum and residue build-up on everything, they dont effectively clean the rooms and maintenance is unsatisfactory, under par and inadequate.

Review 5:Nothing.

Review 6:The room fridge had previous occupants' food. There were stains on the walls and carpet. It was humid and stuffy in the room even with the A/C on.

Review 7:Decent location, close to theater; beds were clean and comfortable.

Review 8:Coffeemaker still had coffee from previous guest. Glass top side table had not been cleaned - there were stains from a glass/cup.

Review 9:Carpet was pretty new. Bathroom was clean. Bed was comfortable, nice sheets. It's the low cost place in williamstown but not inexpensive.

Review 10:Bed bugs! I booked this motel after looking at the good ratings and reviews it had here. Unfortunately, there were bedbugs in my room. The owner was nice enough to give me a refund, but my night and trip were ruined. Also, the free breakfast is a joke. Don't bother.

Review 11:The rooms are very basic, old, and not well appointed. The bathroom window didn't have a screen so it couldn't be left open. The carpet was old and stained. The whole place smelled so we aired it out the best we could. Trim boards were falling off the air conditioner.

Review 12:The Villager Motel was in a convenient location. The owners were friendly and helpful. The motel was set off the road so there wasn't much road traffic noise.

Review 13:The people were(I think)new to motel management and the room was not quite as clean as it should have been. Nothing major though.

Review 14:Comfortable room and beds. The owners went out of their way to meed our requests.

Review 15:Our travel and location requirements meant very late check in. When we arrived, we were told the double-bed room was not available (we had reserved it). A cot was provided. Then, I went to pay with Amex and the machine did not work. "free" Breakfast was a joke ... much better place just up the road. TV Remote had dead batteries. TV picture very bad.

Review 16:clean room & bathroom. No Bedbugs. Staff was friendly but not that helpful.

Review 17:The entire motel is rundown and tired. The carpet was stained and there was mold and stains on some of the walls

Review 18:The motel was quiet except when a train passed through on the nearby train line. There was a small TV and ar refrigerator.

Review 19:It is a drive rather than a walk to town, the college and the Clark. However it is a very short drive and the Villager is in a pretty part of Williamstown.

Review 20:I've stayed several times at the Villager and each time has been a fine experience. The owner is friendly and competent. When I've had to have a late (after 10 pm) check-in, as a lone female I appreciate the care she has taken to be sure I have my key and get to my room safely.

Review 21:Very cramped space. Bathroom small with no vanity space for tolietries. No breakfast offerings.

Review 22:Had a great restaurant at edge of town for breakfast. Beds comfortable.

Review 23:Without a doubt, this was the dirtest room I have ever stayed in. Greatneed to scrub clean bathroom before using. Bed blanket had burn holesall in it. Blinds were too dusty to touch. Coffee machine had somethinggrowing in water tank; had to clean. The beauty of your location, finepine paneling, & servicable older furniture was lost in the overalldirty room condition. Such a waste of what once must have been a niceplace to stay.

Review 24:Easy access to college grounds. Enjoyed grounds and diner next door.Staff polite and helpful when asked for assistance. This was an olderestablishment and had lots of charm but all was lost on dirty conditionof room. Wished it had been cleaner.

Review 25:This hotel was great had great service. People here went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Would recommend this place to my friends and family.

Review 26:The owner was very pleasant and caring, helped with restaurant suggestions, asked how our stay, was very personable. The room was clean and reasonably comfortable for the price. Offered simple continental breakfast with good options.

Review 27:1. Noisy: near railroad and freight trains ran a couple times the night we were there. 2. Not clean: obvious paper scraps on the floor, dirt in the phone and the floor corners. Mold and mildew on bathroom tiles. 3. Not enough electrical outlets for the appliances (had to unplug the fridge to plug in the microwave. 4. No sense of "hospitality." Owners appear to be very new to the hospitality industry or don't care.

Review 28:Near town and breakfast (The Chef's Hat) next door.

Review 29:While the knotty pine paneling was not without some charm, that was the extent of the retro, woodsy feel. The shower had mold, there was no hair dryer, there was a pair of underwear left behind (obviously undiscovered by cleaning staff) on closet floor, there was a used washcloth (obviously undiscovered by cleaning staff) in drawer of bedside table....

Review 30:Run-down place, unpaved parking lot and drive in area. Breakfast area is two small tables and three chairs in the tiny office. Bugs surrounded the light near the door to the room at night and flocked into the room when you entered. Much too expensive room cost.

Review 31:It was the only place in the area to get a room for the night.

Review 32:Posted reviews were right on. If you are looking for an affordable overnight vintage 1960 motel, a clean good sized room and pleasant staff this is for you. If you want pristine facilities with gym and pool this motel is not for you. Of course expect to pay twice as much.

Review 33:Period knotty pine room was charming. Owner was very cordial and helpful. Good location for MOCA and Clark Museum. The pick up breakfast was adequate and nutritious. Price was unbeatable.

Review 34:Room had a musty, moldy odor that permeated our clothing and other belongings - not good for breathing. Dust had accumulated in corners and on the walls indicating it had not had a good cleaning in quite a while. Although coffee was provided in the room, the coffee pod was exposed to the air, rather than in an airtight package. This is my second experience with the motel being in such a state and will not return again.

Review 35:There was no pool but none was advertised so we knew that from the start.

Review 36:The Villager was perfect for our needs, a group of friends getting together to see local attractions but mostly to enjoy each other's compny. We loved the outside tables and chairs away from the road where we could gather, share refreshments and talk. It is a great value for the money.

Review 37:Very basic motel, finishes and fixtures. Aged. Could used some interior updates.

Review 38:Near to Williamstown. Nice continental breakfast; also next door to Chefs Hat if you want another option for breakfast. Fun play area for young kids on grassy area. Good price.

Review 39:We could hear our neighbor everytime he turned on the water in his bathroom.

Review 40:The king size bed was very comfortable. Room had a fridge and microwave.

Review 41:Weak Internet, dark depressed room, dinky bathroom, pitiful breakfast

Review 42:The location was pretty.

Review 43:Nice quiet location. Staff polite, clean bedding and towels.

Review 44:Staff helpful and friendly

Review 45:Location re williamstown. Old style cozy little motel. Nothing fancy but quiet and clean.

Review 46:No frills. Water in shower took long time to heat up.

Review 47:Clean, close to Williamstown. Casual. Basic overnite accomendations. No bother.Quiet.

Review 48:It was near the Clark Museum. All units were on the ground floor. It was not a huge place and had a pleasant outside environment.

Review 49:old fashioned room and extras

Review 50:quiet location

Review 51:Nice clean room at a decent price at a good location. Easy to get to museums, theater, hiking and reasonable dining.

Review 52:Train goes by twice a night Room smells musty

Review 53:would not stay again

Review 54:Landscape, nature

Review 55:Friendly desk.

Review 56:Bed very uncomfortable Bathroom much too small including tub and sink and toilet.

Review 57:convenient to our needs

Review 58:Good value for the price.

Review 59:no one available when I arrived to check in

Review 60:Mattress.

Review 61:Size of room.

Review 62:Clean, comfortable and well-appointed. Good value for money.

Review 63:Dirty blankets and coverlets. No hot water after 11:00pm.

Review 64:Ease of booking

Review 65:It was available.

Review 66:Small, no frills, quiet, clean and affordable place to stay.

Review 67:At some distance from town center.

Review 68:Very welcoming staff. Spacious room. Quiet. Great shower. Very comfy bed. Neat, unpretentious décor.

Review 69:Room smelled wretched.

Review 70:Location was good. Outside looked quaint.

Review 71:Worn/neglected fixtures, Few electric plugs. Too many extension cords exposed.

Review 72:Location

Review 73:get off my website!

Review 74:Not enough guest soaps in the bathroom

Review 75:Friendly, courteous service Outdoor picnic tables Minutes from Williamstown center

Review 76:The motel needs some repair. The breakfast could use some improvement

Review 77:Great location, pleasant staff

Review 78:Screens were torn and bugs came in also there wasn't much in the way of updating. Furnishings are old but clean .

Review 79:Clean and had nice amenities like refrigerator and microwave. Quiet .

Review 80:There were two hornets inside the room. Fortunately, we were not afraid of them. We opened the door and guided them out.

Review 81:Room is very clean and spacious. No more than 5 minutes drive to Williams College. Near two very good restaurants: Chef's Hat and Cozy Corner. Beds and pillows are not lumpy. Towels are clean.

Review 82:The woman who checked us in literally could not have been more friendly or helpful. The motel was clean, adorable, and a great value. I would recommend this motel for sure!

Review 83:The second room (#13) we had was in a more dated building that had a musky smell and was probably damaged by moisture or water.

Review 84:We had 2 separate rooms as we were a group of people. One of the rooms we had was great (#19) and had good heating, a clean bathroom, and a comfy bed. The outdoor areas were very nice as well. Homemade jam at breakfast was a big plus too!

Review 85:The room looked and felt seedy. The beds' blankets were covered with holes from cigarette burns. They were dirty. The whole room was dingy.

Review 86:The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large.

Review 87:There was no microwave and we had no idea how much we would need one. The bathroom was really in need of a remodel. Grout was either very dirty or had been painted repeatedly. What work that may have been done in the bathroom was done very unprofessionally and rather childlike. Window cranks in bathroom were broken so windows did not open and ventilation is essential. Pillows although clean were old and and uncomfortable and needed to be replaced. The walls were scuffed and in great need of paint or new paneling. No Wifi to speak of although they did say it existed.

Review 88:A quaint attractive motel. The clean white paint on the outside of the buildings. The quietness. The play area with swings, apple trees and bicycles. The closeness to the Chef's Hat.

Review 89:it is on the outskirts of town, not a big problem esp since there is an excellent restaurant 5 min walking distance

Review 90:great staff, very friendly, incredibly priced, good beds, good breakfast included, love it!

Review 91:Our overnight stay was very pleasant. A comfortable, well furnished and warm room. The woman running it was very friendly and helpful. We would certainly recommend this very attractive bed and breakfast.

Review 92:of all the motels we stayed at on our fall foilage trip of 9 days in different states, I must say this was one of the nicest and cleanest that we would goo back to and recommend to others The manager was so nice too.

Review 93:drunkards next to our room which were noisy and used bad language; we could not sleep including our 4-year-daughter; terrible experience; empty beer bottle in one drawer; used napkin behind bedtime table

Review 94:surrounding

Review 95:I just wish they would start their breakfast a little sooner as I am a morning person and like to get back on the road. Their time probably works for most people. She did open a little early for me but I hate asking.

Review 96:I felt safe, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 97:The motel wasn't clean; the bath towels were threadbare; we had a double fitted sheet on a queen size bed. It is a sad little 60's motel that has not been updated one iota - or cleaned!

Review 98:We were visiting our son who works at Williams College, so that was good.

Review 99:Breakfast could offer a few more choices. There was no directory for the TV. HBO was offered, but how do you find it? Bath could use a night light.

Review 100:Price Pleasant staff Good proximity to Williamstown features Clean

Review 101:The continental breakfast was not that great. It needs better internet service & electrical outlets.

Review 102:The staff was very nice & it was affordable.

Review 103:My comment applies to a lot of hotels. I like big, thick towels for drying off and thick face cloths for the shower. Like many hotels the towels here did not reach my high standard. Otherwise, the Villager is a great place to stay.

Review 104:The Villager is right next to Williams College and the Williamstown Theatre Festival. It is small, secluded and very quiet. The room had a nice rustic charm and the AC worked well. We got a great night's sleep there. For the season and the area it was a great deal. Enjoy!

Review 105:My wife chose the Village because it boasted free wifi, but even though we were the closest room to the office — one day the owner placed the wifi station on the office window sill! — the signal was too weak to use.

Review 106:The Villager is an old-fashioned motel with one story buildings facing a parking lot, and we chose it because it was relatively inexpensive compared to the insanely pricey accommodations in the area. The room was more attractive than we expected, the owner very friendly.

Review 107:We were veryvery disappointed with the breakfast offered. I knew that the motel was old and thr rooms dated but there were no other openings that weekend due to an alumni golf tournament. The rooms were clean but in need of updating. The breakfast however was terrible. Coffee....bad, english muffins and bread...stale. The rooms were $132 a night so not bargain basement. That warranted at least a continental breakfast that was edible

Review 108:The Villager is close to Williamstown and the WTF

Review 109:TV Remote was RCA but TV was Sanyo - remote wouldn't change channels. Blanket had HOLES in it. A/C face plate was off the Unit. Room switch didn't work. Lamps were cheap and wobbly. Bed cover had a stain.

Review 110:The room was very dingy. There were old bloodstains on my pillowcase! Islept in fear of bedbugs but happily was not bitten by anything. Wi-fiwas free but not very stable.

Review 111:The room was quiet, the bathroom was clean, the bed was comfortable, andthe hotel manager was very nice. I had forgotten my toothpaste and wasgiven a travel size tube when I asked.

Review 112:Wifi was only intermittent. This was not a problem for us, but it is advertised as an amenity, so other travelers might expect it.

Review 113:Excellent value for the price. A clean, quiet, comfortable, old-fashioned roadside motel - just what we were looking for.

Review 114:No spare roll of toilet paper when I arrived. Minimal amount left onroll in place.Only one previously used mini bar of soap in the bath tub/shower. Bare CFU light bulb over mirror in bathroom.

Review 115:Price and location

Review 116:We booked here because there was no availability elsewhere in the area. There had been some negative reviews, so we weren't expecting much. The person who checked us in was very nice; the motel was very quiet(although it was full, and apparently full of late-nighers); thebathroom was well equipped. I wish the air conditioning hadn't beensuch a refrigerator, but all in all this was a very nice place and Iwould certainly stay there again.

Review 117:no hot water, poor wireless strength

Review 118:inexpensive, conveniently located by car to Williams College, accommodating staff members (they supplied an extra cot)

Review 119:I have no complaints.

Review 120:The motel was easily accessible, comfortable, complete with simple, basic amenities and at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere wasfriendly without infringing on privacy.

Review 121:Needs black-out curtains. Too light in the morning in summer.

Review 122:Friendly staff, the room was old-fashioned but clean. It felt like staying in your grandma's guest room.

Review 123:Facilities were minimal. Included breakfast didn't start until 8am,which was after I had to leave for the morning. The location was farenough out of town that cell phone service was very poor. Roomsdidn't get made up very well. Office didn't open early or stayopen late.

Review 124:Quiet and comfortable.

Review 125:the room was a bit musty smelling and the decor was generally 'tired'. New carpeting and bedspreads would go a long way. We were only there to sleep.

Review 126:price location The owner was very nice and accommodating.
