Reviews for Pasadena Rose Inn
Review 1:The carpet had stains, furniture looked beat up, hallway is creepy, nobody in the office late at night. I wouldn't stay for more than one night, perfect place if you just need to sleep somewhere after an event and are on a budget.
Review 2:If you need a place to crash for one night, this is just fine! I was afraid to book this place, since it has so many bad reviews. I was mostly worried about safety, since I was traveling alone with my two teen daughters. Yes, the neighborhood looks run down, but we didn't see any homeless or sketchy looking people on the premises (and we came back from an event at 1:30 am). We had an upstairs room, the bedding was clean, the doors locked fine and there were no noise issues. The guy in the office was friendly and spoke English. We had to put a $20 deposit down for the room key and TV remote (who steals a remote???).
Review 3:There was no lock or latch on the balcony door. They gave us a stick to wedge it shut. There were no hangers in the closet. We had to ask for a lamp to adequately light the room at night. The coffee maker had no carafe and there were no coffee cups. No lobby, you checked in at a messy office and breakfast was at the Travel Lodge next door. We stayed over New Years and were booked for three days but decided to check out a day early shortly after we checked in. They charged us $300 on 12/30, $500 on 12/31 and we got refunded only $200 and they did not refund the tax, which we had already paid. We feel ripped off after this experience and don't think this place should even be listed on booking.com.
Review 4:It was the addmistration and paperwork. The guess list made by hand or hard copies with people names, hard to find costumers names in 5 pages list. why not a reservation system in the computer?
Review 5:The bedroom was very nice and clean but it wasn't smoke detector.
Review 6:This hotel was extremely sketchy. A homeless man literally slept directly outside of our room. I was awake for hours listening to him shuffle through bags and open cans. I didn't realize how close he actually was to our door until we left in the morning and saw his crumbs directly outside the door. At one point a member of the staff came up and said something to him but they clearly did not force him to leave. There is absolutely zero security at this hotel. The balcony doors barely latch. Paid way too much just to be on the parade route and will never do it again. You will not feel safe.
Review 7:The only good thing about this hotel is the location on the Rose Bowl parade route but don't be fooled. You can't see the parade from all balconies and you see the parade going away from you.
Review 8:mismatched, furniture. looked like swap meet finds. Coffee pot w/o creamer, little plastic flimsy cups, small towels. There was no lobby and check in was done by inefficient person. Paid extremely high price for low budget accomodations. shame on you for recommending this lodging.
Review 9:Location Beds very comfortable
Review 10:Gang sketching on the sliding glass door which did not lock ! Burn wholes in the blankets..... I could go on but I think you get the idea!
Review 11:Really, Nothing! It's owned by the travel lodge next door and it's like the bad step sister motel!
Review 12:We got only one washcloth and one hand towel. The English of the guy at check-in was very limited so we didn't ask for another washcloth, but used our own (which we always have, because in Europe one doesn't get washcloths). The shower had the hot on the right and the cold on the left (which took awhile to figure out), plus one turned the handle on the right counterclockwise and the handle to the right clockwise. The sink, however, had the hot on the left and the cold on the right.
Review 13:The location on Colorado Blvd was good. It is next to the Travelodge (where one goes for breakfast). The room was freshly painted. {Other rooms were in the process of being painted.}
Review 14:Ackward reception and office facilities Maturity of staff Bath exhaust fan inoperative HVAC system apparently non-functional. Advertised rates compared with "weekly rates" banner posted at entry.
Review 15:Convenience and location
Review 16:The lock on the door is mismatched to the doorframe; so most of thetime, it would not lock.
Review 17:I was asked to give a "$100 deposit"! I asked why and was toldthat some people destroy the rooms. I am horrified that Booking.comallows this practice. No mention is made when you book the room. Whenyou book the room, the price only gives a total plus tax only. There isno mention of any deposit! Further, they had the opportunity to informme about any additional charges before I showed up. Is this legal? I amhorrified. Had I known before I showed up, I would have cancelled myreservation.
Review 18:I am homless and own a 20 pound service animal i did not appreciate being asked to leave because of my dog but my overall stay was good.
Review 19:The location was nice and the price for the rooms are just right not too cheap not too expensive. My only complaint was being asked to leave because of my dog.
Review 20:In the first room I got the balcony door wouldn't open so I waited for a repair man, he never showed up so I was escorted to another room. The volume on the television did not work in the new room & there were several stains on mattress & sheets
Review 21:Staff very nice
Review 22:The entrance/check-in desk was really "ghetto" (not sure how else to describe) the breakfast is actually at the travel lodge hotel (their partner hotel accross the street) breakfast is from 6-930 and the booking stated 930 so we missed it.. When we got back to the hotel the cops were there (not sure for what but I felt uneasy) when I looked outside from inside my room there were 4 cop cars and they were talking to a man in a truck in the parking lot. It didnt get out of hand and the situation was handled quickly and uneventfully.
Review 23:We paid $113 for one night, it included complementary breakfast. The room was nice and clean. Big room and bathroom. Included a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The room had a balcony and a cooler (which was nice since it was so hot) I think the price was good as we were there for the US vs Mexico soccer game and therefore it was a busy weekend in Pasadena. The staff was low key but available if anything was needed.
Review 24:Advertised breakfast never offered over the stay. Really did NOT like the lack of a freezer-LESS refrigerator! How was I to cook a Stouffer's, or anything else frozen without a freezer?
Review 25:Clean! Staff was polite upon checkin. Establishment was polite.
Review 26:the property is run down, dirty, doesn't have clean lagers or blankets- I think they are subsidized to be an accommodation for homeless families. They are connected to the travelodge next door. We looked at their rooms and the bathroom was filled with cock roaches.
Review 27:There was nothing that I liked about the property.
Review 28:The bed headboard was not attached to the bed every time you moved it hit the wall ,hairs in the shower. Not very clean
Review 29:The Room needs mayor renovation
Review 30:The hall way strong smell of cigarettes and everything you need is across the street in another hotel. Breakfast is also across the street and everything was gone by 9:00 am of which we were told we were late even though the timing was till 9:30 am.
Review 31:Room was kind of dirty, crusties in the corners of floor and visible foot marks on the floor, as well as bathroom walls had that yellow drippy looking stuff probably from people smoking, not a nice smell. Police barricade on second night but I guess not hotels fault if guests are doing things. Asked to have sheets changed didn't change.
Review 32:Good location for what we wanted to do and great price from booking.com. Free bread breakfast next door at travel lodge.
Review 33:Sink 4 inches lower than normal, easy to get wet. TV is too low, cannot watch TV in bed. Alarm went off once ay 5 AM because some scared man triggerred it to scare outside muggers. Don't feel safe in this motel.
Review 34:Price
Review 35:the staff all of a sudden wanted to charge me a deposit the fourth time coming there and tried making up excuses of why
Review 36:I like that there were two ways to enter the building
Review 37:I saw cockroach traps inside the closet and bathroom. I didn't see any cockroaches, so I'll definitely take the traps over seeing actual roaches! The bottom of the main door also had a huge gap, which might explain the roach traps, so it'd be great if they fix that. I was also told that the room didn't have a microwave or a refrigerator, but our room had both (although, the microwave had to be closed with a safety pin for it to stay closed). Additionally, my blanket and part of my sheets had stains, so I made sure to sleep on the other, cleaner side. We also heard the man staying in the room next to us get it on, but luckily that didn't last long. Lastly, they had a half used toilet paper and half used shampoo in the bathroom. They didn't give us more toilet paper until the next day, even though I asked for more when we got there.
Review 38:The hotel was alright for the price paid, and I'd stay there again despite all the negatives described. The room and two beds were both big, and the location was great in relation to where we needed to be. They also provided free breakfast at the hotel next door, which is owned by the same owner. Breakfast options included cereal, English muffins, danishes, fruits, coffee, and juice.
Review 39:Termites . Not clean. Old and dirty. T.v didn't work. No mirror in room. Not enough towels. Outdated barrooms. Slices of bread and a few English muffins was considered breakfast. Had to walk across the parking lot to get.
Review 40:The room was dirty: there was hair on the bed, stains on the sheets, a dried booger on the wall, sugar packets tossed all over the floor, empty soda cans on the patio, and trash in the bathroom. It is also advertised as non-smoking, but the room smelled like someone had smoked in it recently. They advertise free breakfast, but it is literally toast and some dry cereal, juice and coffee. It was one of the cheapest hotels in the area ($79/night) and you get what you pay for (although the cost per night is still pretty expensive since it is in Pasadena).
Review 41:A naked guest came out of his room escorted by police. There was ants in the restroom. The pool is too small to be shared by both hotel. The patio area was very dirty. It had an old torn share, a ampm cup with a drink inside still, and an old dirty bucket was left there. The patio hadn't been rinsed down.
Review 42:Friendly staff.
Review 43:It's 10 minutes away from the convention center, and less than half the price of nearer lodging. What do you lose in not choosing pricier lodging? Not much. The premises was pretty quiet and pleasant all around.
Review 44:Room was dirty. Floor was hardwood and dirty. Felt gross. Had a a refidgerator in room that didn't work. There was roach traps inside of room. Will not stay here again. TV was too small and bed was way across the room.
Review 45:The fan fan in the bathroom made quite a noise. Also the Wifi worked well close to the door inside the room, but deeper in the room the reception wasn't too good. Breakfast is quite modest (serial, toast, coffee, juice, apples), and run out of bread the first morning but then again I was there quite late.
Review 46:Don't know what kind of fancy-pants give horrible reviews here, but for me this worked just fine for for a five-day work trip. Indeed a little musty odor at first but got used to it in 10 minutes and disappeared using the AC that worked. There was a reception there at 9 pm when I arrived and many people checking in. There were bar soap and shampoo (and couple of other tubes I didn't check), clean towels and sheets, and daily housekeeping. Staff was nice when checking in, otherwise I didn't need their services (but I saw them there constantly, except at night). Restaurants and a trappist bar(!) close by and got to Pasadena center by bus in 20 mins. It's not a five-star Hilton, but it's definitely good for the price.
Review 47:Linen, sheets, etc are substandard. Facility is rundown. Noisy neighbor with young kids that won't quiet down until past midnight. No insulation between the rooms. Not good if you are looking to get a good night sleep. Wifi does not work well. No staff late at night or until around 8:20 am.
Review 48:Mattress is fine. Price is great for overnight stay. Breakfast is included at the Travelodge next door. Apples and juice are available.
Review 49:The staff was unable to give directions in the local area. Staff was not friendly. Beds - you could feel the springs. Staff refused to leave sufficient amount of toilet paper. We had to call several times. TV too small for the room. No ice machine.
Review 50:Nothing
Review 51:The property is rather run-down with little maintenance. The elevator was switched off, the furniture in the room is cheap and damaged.
Review 52:The motel is conveniently located on the main drag of Pasadena. A short drive will find all kinds of services - food, shopping, malls and almost everything. Service personnel at the motel is friendly and helpful.
Review 53:Smoke smelling office, apartments on the bottom. No actual reception or signage. Proprietors sitting around in office. Dirty broken blinds. Computers on a table. Very u pleasing first impression.
Review 54:Reception needs a refresh - a bit off-putting on first arrival. Corridor to rooms featureless and a bit prison-like (needs pictures or colour variation).
Review 55:Clean room and good servicing daily. Friendly and helpful with requests.
Review 56:Needs to improve on customer service in the office staff. I was asked to wait 2 hrs for cable to be fix in the room was being given. I said Not acceptable bcuz it was 8pm. The ice machine is located on the next hotel across parking lot. I wasn't given any direction on how to get to my room, except it was at the end of the building. I did tell the manager the shower handle needs to fix, very very loose. He was very receptive to the request. There was no breakfast offered at all and no excuses when given.
Review 57:Price was right for last minute idea for my daughter and I. You can tell they are trying to do upgrades and trying to keep up with maintenance. I liked you can see the cars from balcony. It has a nice enclosed closet, with iron and board, hair drier, nice flat screen tv, working A/C. We got 5 pillows !! :)
Review 58:I arrived as scheduled and no one was there to check me in. there is no lobby..only a window that had a sign directing me to the Travel lodge. They had not been told to expect customers from Rose Inn, but said I could stay there..whioch I did. From what I did see, of the Rose Inn, from the outside, I am sure I have no desire to ever stgay there.
Review 59:The office does not look anything like a hotel reception, so it freakedme out a bit when I saw it. Luckily the rooms are fine. The furniture inmy room was good as well, except for a beat up cheap desk with a longscratch on it. My biggest complaint was that the pillows were way toobig to sleep on. I ended up buying one and using that.
Review 60:The room was very clean! I had a microwave and fridge in my room aswell.
Review 61:Dirty, bad WiFi, located between a dumpy used car lot and a vacant Travel Lodge, breakfast food stale and gross (bread & cereal, literally). Call the hotel number - anytime, nobody answers. Interestingly, the morning after I checked out, my email had been hacked. I would not recommend this "flop house". Certainly there are other economically priced places to stay. Check Triple A.
Review 62:Elevator not working, asked, we're told they would turn it on, never did. Have to get breakfast at the other hotel past the car lot.
Review 63:That We won't be returning!
Review 64:When I checked out, they actually did a room inspection before checking me out. I've been to expensive hotels as well as cheap hotels. But this was my first room inspection. WT...
Review 65:Location was further east than I expected, away from downtown Pasadena. Had to go to Travelodge (next door) for breakfast and some services. Spartan building and rooms, old air con.
Review 66:Breakfast at Travelodge next door.
Review 67:There was nothing that I dissatisfied about.
Review 68:The room was clean, everything in order. The staff was on their job. Just all around a great place for lodging. I would go back again.
Review 69:not being directed at check in where breakfast would be served and location of ice machine. no bathmat in bathroom and carpet should be cleaned
Review 70:location was great for my purposes and premises were clean and neat with pleasing landscaping and good parking. the tv was top quality, too bad it sat so low from the bed - should have been higher up.
Review 71:Poor reception of internet connection in my room , but did not mater much as i had to sleep:)
Review 72:Kindness of the staff. Clean, quite very good bed! All that i needed for a good rest. I will go back if in the area.
Review 73:The structure is prison style (motel). The breakfast was in an ugly room in a close structure and was very poor.
Review 74:The staff was courteous and polite, the room was clean and the cleaning service came every day. Very good location to see Pasadena and LA. Good parking, nice pool.
Review 75:There were several things I didn't like. The office in this particular location is closed during the night. If assistance is needed, guest must go to the office in the hotel next door. Which can be dangerous, especially in the middle of the night when there's random people walking around. Even getting out of our taxi to go in was very uncomfortable as some guys were trying to talk to me and my teenage daughters. Not to mention that the entrance door to the hotel stays open all night, so those guys trying to talk to me and my daughter's could easily come in if the wanted too. Lastly, there was no hot water and the shower didn't seemed to be very clean.
Review 76:The only good thing about this hotel was the bed and pillows. Very ccomfortable. The only reason I stayed in this hotel is because it was my only resource as all other hotels were booked.
Review 77:VERY rundown and "pieced" back together very poorly. If you are looking for a "nice" place, not it! If you are looking for a place to sleep comfortably, definitely it!
Review 78:Excellent location, nice staff, GREAT bed, and extras we did not expect, like breakfast and pool.
Review 79:I did not know where to check in the first night because the check in office is not as obvious as it is in most hotels.
Review 80:I stayed at the Pasadena Rosee Inn. Because it was close to the Rose Bowl which is where One Direction was performing. When I arrived I was very surprised by the neighborhood it was in because there were lots of places to go eat and there was a mall only a few miles away. It's definitely a convenient place if you need to go see a show at the Rose Bowl. The rooms are very nice! Definitely a good place to stay at.
Review 81:The mattresses were stained badly, linen on bed was dirty. Several things were broken.
Review 82:Then locación was nice.
Review 83:What a pit! Everything broken or stained. Like stepping into the third world
Review 84:Strong wifi
Review 85:Older motel. Needs to be updated. But it was clean and comfortable. Good location for where I needed to be.
Review 86:Dirty room, janky desk, TV was lower than bed.
Review 87:Location
Review 88:Everyone that works here is kind and helpful. Great people!
Review 89:Like my home.
Review 90:All night party people rough customers and domestic fighting in adjoining rooms all four nights. Office closed all night
Review 91:I was a bit scared by the neighborhood but didn't have any specific problems.
Review 92:The price was right.
Review 93:smelled like pot
Review 94:it felt like a NY apt halway
Review 95:The wifi no working and de tv cable its poor
Review 96:A like the location
Review 97:It looked a little old fashion
Review 98:I just feel like if it was a lil more renovated it will be very nice but other then that just to sleep it was good
Review 99:Everything
Review 100:all good
Review 101:Nice hotel with shared pool close enough to Pasadena to walk 1.5 miles although buses are frequent
Review 102:When checking in, the young man who checked us in was so friendly and willing to help us in any way.
Review 103:Wifi was not accessible
Review 104:A drunk pulled the fire alarm at 5AM waking everyone up. Fire alarm kept going for 20 min. No staff on hand.
Review 105:Large bed, nice pillows, easy parking.
Review 106:Breakfast is worthless, air conditioner barely works. Bathroom is not clean..
Review 107:Location and free parking, connection with neighboring Travelodge.
Review 108:Open patio in the front by the road
Review 109:Very clean
Review 110:The hotel was a little bit dirty and was more of a mom and pop shop.
Review 111:The location.
Review 112:The room still had old beer bottle tops on the floor.
Review 113:Loved the convenience to my business and play.
Review 114:Breakfast was a little lacking.
Review 115:The room was big, clean, and comfortable.
Review 116:The hotel was a dump. Barely clean. The only decent thing about this place were the sheets were at least clean. Location was fine
Review 117:Wifi didn't work in our room. Room was dirty with some bugs
Review 118:The beds are not so confortables
Review 119:The pool
Review 120:There's no fire alarm on the room and smells like smoke.
Review 121:It has a good location and price is good for Pasadena
Review 122:Homeless man sleeping in hallway reported it and nothing done!!! Sad
Review 123:No bar soap, no Kleenex not enough toilet paper. you need it to request it in the office
Review 124:Big and comfortable room
Review 125:Musty odor and indifferent staff
Review 126:Location and comfortable bed
Review 127:Over all we had a very good time at the Pasadena Rose Inn.
Review 128:No breakfast
