Reviews for Pasadena Inn
Review 1:The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms and area were clean. It was close to old town Pasadena and within walking distance to many attractions and restaurants.
Review 2:The breakfast was awful, only packaged baked goods. The room was freezing as it is an open-air patio on the second floor. Even with heaters, it was too cold for comfort in December 2015. The staff said they are working on correcting the situation to offer better breakfasts. Option: go across the street to Whole Foods.
Review 3:Staff was wonderful, absolutely helpful in every way!! Location is very convenient.
Review 4:There were some little black bugs in the bathroom but it wasn't bad. Also, I couldn't figure out the AC/Heating unit. Nothing major on the dislikes.
Review 5:I loved that it was so close to the convention center in Pasadena where I was going for three days. The staff was so nice and helpful. They answered any questions I had. Also, love that there was no hidden fees when you check in.
Review 6:Rooms hard to control heat, a/c did not work. Breakfast was mediocre and everything cold because room is located on 2nd floor newly built.
Review 7:Location to old Pasadena Very helpful front desk staff
Review 8:Only downer this year, we visit every year, is no hot breakfast due to some officialdom from the local authorities.
Review 9:Staff v friendly, great location and v good value.
Review 10:Ashtray fixed to post directly outside our non-smoking room, so we had to suffer smell of smoke in room and noise of smokers talking loudly. Breakfast room had 3-feet gaps above each window, so it was very cold there when temperature was 51 degrees. Next day (48 degrees), plastic sheeting had been attached but draught was still coming in gaps. Notices were posted forbidding clients to take breakfast to the rooms. Worst breakfasts we have had in USA. Room overpriced.
Review 11:Location, comfort of room (but not of breakfast room).
Review 12:The breakfast left a lot to be desired. There were signs posted that there is a hopefully temporary problem in that they can't provide anything but packaged goods, e.g. sweet rolls, packaged cereals, most of which were sugar-coated. The breakfast room was very cold and therefore uncomfortable. The cost of a room was higher than last year.
Review 13:It was relatively quiet. It is within walking distance to the Convention Center where I was an exhibitor. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods were close by. Good restaurants in the area. Free parking was a plus. Microwave and refrigerator in the room. and
Review 14:The breakfast is very bad. Everything is wrapped separately. Not a lot of choice too.
Review 15:Just in front of the hotel is a Whole Food Market. In walking distance to Colorado Blvd.
Review 16:Breakfast not fresh only canned stuff. Pool is not clean. Furniture is old. Quality of facilities are fair comparing to the price.
Review 17:Location and whole market is very near. Staff are really helpful and I had fast check-in and check-out.
Review 18:There was a little Crack in the curtains that didn't want to stay closed so light came in/people could see in. Also the door had light comming in through its cracks and if you need total darkness to sleep this might keep you up a bit.
Review 19:The staff were very nice and really made you feel welcome. I loved that there is a whole foods just across the street. I loaded up my mini fridge.
Review 20:We had a corner room.it was extremely noisy.there were voices and pounding up and down the stairs by our room at 3 o'clock in the morning.we also had water leaking in the ceiling over the bathroom tub
Review 21:Convenience .. Close to Huntington hospital
Review 22:Breakfast was all prepackaged because the Pasadena Sanitation inspectors had found issues with their serving non-prepackaged food. Also there was a hair from a previous guest stuck to the wall of the shower.
Review 23:The location is convenient.
Review 24:The sound insulation in the building is not great. I had to call the front desk and ask them to tell a neighbor to turn down his or her TV, there often were plumbing noises, and the footsteps of my upstairs neighbor were bothersome.
Review 25:The location was perfect for my needs.
Review 26:The health department has prevented the hotel from serving a hot breakfast. Only individual, pre-packaged items are available. Only sugary, kid's cereals were offered. The swimming pool was also closed by the health department. Very disappointing stay.
Review 27:Good location for our purposes
Review 28:The breakfast is not very good. Only sweet, prepacked stuff. Better get something somewhere else.
Review 29:Well located Inn in Pasadena. Short walking distance to Colorado Boulevard, close to convention centre. Rooms are spacious. WiFi is fast and working well.
Review 30:Small rooms for price. Buffet was small due to sanitation reasons. Pool was closed due to sanitary reasons. It was hot and they had no ice maker.
Review 31:The staff was friendly. Good area in pasadena. Nice complex. Clean room.
Review 32:The bed was a bit too soft for our taste. Breakfast was okay.
Review 33:Absolutely great location. Easy to walk around pasadena. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was big and nice.
Review 34:No real excuse for the pool to be out of action for too long. I heard people say they needed to cool off. (They said the pump was broken, can be fixed in a day)
Review 35:Close to Del Mar station and food places.
Review 36:The pool was closed by the heath officer, they also were unable to serve a continental breakfast because of health code violations so they were limited to "individually packaged goods", and there was a constant stream of ants in the bathroom. This hotel was dirty and dingy... I don't recommend it.
Review 37:the room was cheap, about $100 a night for two people.
Review 38:There was hair on the bathtub from a previous guests. The pool was shut down the whole time I was there. Poor breakfast choices.
Review 39:Apart from the bathtub not being completely clean, it appeared clean. It was in a convenient location.
Review 40:The breakfast was below satisfactory. All hotels that I've attended with a breakfast package have had warm dishes: ex eggs, bacon, toast, beagals, etc. This hotel did not...
Review 41:Towels had holes, no use of pool because of safety code violations since 6/30/2015. Staff gave key to our room to another customer while we were sleeping. Thank God for locks. Did not clean room on last day there. Finally air conditioner was loud.
Review 42:The bed was comfortable.
Review 43:I booked this hotel as it was the closest to Huntington Hospital, where my Father was having open-heart surgery. The website offered a king room with smoking or a queen without smoking. I took this king, as my sister smokes. I get there only to find out that the whole hotel is non-smoking. I was livid, as the only reason I booked that hotel was because it had the smoking room available. The staff did not offer any type of compensation for their own booking partner offering and booking something that did not exist. It was false advertising and I intend to fight the charges. Very unhappy customer.
Review 44:The pool had been closed by the health department and the breakfast had also been limited by the health department to only packaged food so there was no protein for diabetics.
Review 45:Good location for civic center event Breakfast attendant was very helpful
Review 46:Pasadena Inn representative assumed I was a Danny Hwang who had walkedin to make 2 reservations. I made my reservation online (Booking.com).She called her boss to inquire. Tried to let her know that she may haveme confused with someone else but she dismissed me. She failed to"LOOK" at my id and credit card which clearly states my"CORRECT" name. Wasted my time and the person's timebehind me.
Review 47:Convenient location with fast check-in!
Review 48:The breakfast was just barely adequate, with no hot food at all, just oatmeal/hot water if you wanted that. The bed was fine, but the top cover sheet had some sort of coating on it that made it stiff - it felt like plastic. Very strange, as the bottom sheet was soft and comfortable.
Review 49:Location and bed were fine. Parking and wifi were also fine.
Review 50:Parking is not good. Spaces very narrow and not many on ground level. They do have more parking underground with surveillance cameras. Pillows very small and you get two. We had to ask for extra for all.
Review 51:The room was very spacious and clean.
Review 52:Breakfast time ended before we could get to it so we didn't get to avail ourselves of this amenity. Also the parking lot is a trial. Not enough spaces and it's very tiny to get in and out of.
Review 53:Really great location. You can walk to anything in Pasadena.
Review 54:Issues with the city had the pool closed and continental breakfast was limited to packaged items. AC unit was a pretty loud.
Review 55:Great location, walking distance to convention center, many restaurants and Paseo. Staff was friendly and attentive.
Review 56:Parking can get really crowded.
Review 57:This is the 3rd time my husband and I have stayed at the Pasadena Inn. I like the fact it is right across the street from Whole Foods and a couple of blocks away from Jones Coffee for the morning cuppa. I wouldn't stay any where else.
Review 58:The pool couldn't be used and won't be funtional for a couple more months. The breakfast is very limited. No bagels or toast, just prepackaged sweet rolls.
Review 59:The location is walkable to Old Town Pasadena and lots of restaurants. There is free parking. Thestaff are very friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom were very clean.
Review 60:_ pool could not be used because (city control) _ breakfast
Review 61:_ ideal to visit Universal Studio or Hollywood, Santa Monica,.. _ easy to park _ walk distacne to old Pasadena Dowtown _ Excellent restaurant at Whole sales market accross the street
Review 62:The only complaint would be that there was no coffeemaker in the room and the remote for the TV didn't change the channel.
Review 63:The room was large & very clean. The staff was very accommodating & friendly.
Review 64:Internet is a bit slow. Shower could have more pressure (but I understand if it was due to the drought...)
Review 65:Desk staff was very welcoming and friendly. The location was great! FREE PARKING!!! The breakfast room was very comfortable (breezy).
Review 66:Pool was closed by health department. Health department also required that all breakfast food be pre-packaged because of vermin issues. Everything was pretty dark and dingy.
Review 67:location good
Review 68:The pool was out of service
Review 69:The staff at the front desk were exceptional, very courteous and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the location is perfect for Pasadena and visiting the rose bowl. It's about a 45 minute brisk walk to the rose bowl, 5 minutes to old Pasadena. Also feels like a very safe area.
Review 70:The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. I arrived early and they were accommodating to my early check in. Mayra gave great suggestions for places within walking distance to get a bite to eat.
Review 71:I've visited Pasadena Inn many times since maybe 2009 and regardless of changing employees and staff, this is a very homie and friendly place to stay at. I recommend staying here
Review 72:Haven't had any problems
Review 73:I've always appreciated the great customer service and friendly staff. I've frequented this hotel on and off for about 7 years now and still a great place to stay at.
Review 74:very very clean rooms service by all staff is always top notch. We stay here every time we go to LA.Close to many freeways.Only 15 min.to Dodger Stadium.Should be rated 3.5 stars
Review 75:Staff friendliness could have been better. The room was a bit Motel 6 feeling for the price we paid.
Review 76:Our room had free wifi, a refrigator, and a microwave.
Review 77:Have stayed here twice now. It will be our hotel of choice in Pasadena for work trips. Clean, comfortable and very convenient with a car. Great location; easy walk into main part of town and opposite Wholefoods-a bonus when you're on the road and your hours are erratic. Staff are delightful and very helpful.
Review 78:The basin blocked overnight and we woke to a flooded bathroom.
Review 79:The staff were very friendly and immediately offered us the use of the shower in another room when there was a flood in ours.
Review 80:The WiFi didn't seem to work as smoothly as one would expect. The breakfast is pretty minimal in that it lacked protein. Even a hard boiled egg would have helped. English muffins would be a good addition.
Review 81:The hotel is very convenient to the Pasadena Convention Center, restaurants, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods. Free parking is always a bonus. I really liked the pillows because they weren't the typical huge, hard ones; these were comfortable.
Review 82:Upon chec-in, Armondo noticed my husband's birthday was the next day. He wished him "Happy birthday!" The next day when we returned to our room, there were cupcakes and a candle for my husband with a note! Such an unexpected surprise! The whole staff was excellent and so friendly.
Review 83:Beds too hard. Pillows flat and useless. Checked in and reserved and paid for four adults but towels and cups only for three.
Review 84:Proximity to activities we were in Pasadena for. Whole Foods across the street. Large double room (124).
Review 85:Breakfast practically non existent - usually always go out for breakfast. Limited wi-fi in some rooms.
Review 86:Location to Gold Line light rail, clean facilities and very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 87:Bathtub needed a support bar for getting in and out. Could have used a bright light in the room in addition to the lower level ones already there.
Review 88:The staff was most helpful.
Review 89:It would have been nice to have some protein at breakfast, such as hard boiled eggs or sausage.
Review 90:Very close to Whole Foods, shops, beaches and other attractions.
Review 91:The bed was well worn. But no big deal.
Review 92:Great deal! We paid $109 for one night (compared to another place that would have been $170, no free parking, and was on the main street of Pasadena), free parking, super close to everything. Whole Foods right across the street, walked up to downtown Pasadena to enjoy night life, some frozen yogurt and see a movie. About 10 min walking to everything! So worth it! The scenery is beautiful - lots of character in all the buildings and homes around this hotel. Walking distance to all the shops and fun things Pasadena offers.
Review 93:Only suggestion would be to turn the mattress as it leaned a bit towards the bathroom area.
Review 94:Clean, clean and clean. Nice big screen television with many channel options and loved the appliances. Nice carpet, good a/c, easy parking.
Review 95:The rooms are poorly insulated and the air conditioning system is noisy
Review 96:the friendliness and the efficiency of the staff who provided very valuable advice
Review 97:Just don't advise the room under the stair case.Comfortable
Review 98:Very clean, bright and airy. All staff had smiles and front office are polite and very pleasant. We come to Pasadena from Arizona about once a month for medical apps and love to stay at the Pasadena Inn.
Review 99:It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. However, free drinks were available in the reception area.
Review 100:The Metro line was near, and the Old Town was only a short walk from the hotel. The price was very reasonable and all the staff were friendly.
Review 101:The breakfast is just carbs and no protein so make sure to bring something to supplement it.
Review 102:The staff were very obliging and helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our requests.
Review 103:There was a strange man hanging around who kept touching and eyeing our truck. But he went away eventually.
Review 104:Location was perfect for where we were going.
Review 105:Getting in and out of the parking garage can be a little dicey. You hear the noises that are around you. The room could use a little more counter space Lighting was odd (switches).
Review 106:Location location location Very close to Old Pasadena, but not right in the mix and business of it. There is a lot to discover in Pasadena. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Review 107:Slightly underpowered shower, this may be an LA thing as water shortages seem to be a permanent issue in this part of the world.
Review 108:Great staff, good location,
Review 109:We were quietly working a crossword puzzle the person above us acted as though we were having a loud party. It was around midnight. They began stomping on the floor and turning on their car alarm, slamming doors, running water and generally acting completely insane. We halfway expected to find our new car keyed.
Review 110:Convient and quiet
Review 111:Unfortunately, on the last night of my stay, there was a room full for partying men who didn't quiet down until 3:30 am, so I didn't get much sleep.
Review 112:The staff was welcoming and helpful, and the room was very clean.
Review 113:The breakfast room was a little chilly.
Review 114:The room was clean and comfortable with a pleasant decor, and fairly roomy. The breakfast area was well stocked and well attended to. A staff person was there to make fresh waffles for guests. A nice surprise.
Review 115:Skip the breakfast, go to Whole Foods
Review 116:Clean, nice staff, price, refrigerator, good wifi and parking included. Right across the street from Whole Foods, walking distance to everything in Pasadena.
Review 117:Honestly, I can't think of a single thing I didn't like about, this Inn.
Review 118:The staff was extremely helpful and personable and friendly. It was nice to be offered a warm coffee or tea upon arriving. A+. Check-In and Check-Out went smoothly. The breakfast, which was included, was top-notch. My room has always been consistently great. Everything I needed, mostly, was there.
Review 119:One of the ladies manning the breakfast station on the weekend could have been a bit more friendly and the sink in the room didn't drain very well. Though I didn't watch much TV, the reception was bad.
Review 120:Most of the staff was great (check in, check out, and weekday breakfast person). Room was nice and tidy with decent amenities. It was great to have parking as well.
Review 121:1.Bed 2.Special accommodations were not give. (Late checkout) 3.Had to call front desk to take food out to room for breakfast 4.Parking is tight 5.a bum came in the front office while I was checking in
Review 122:1.Location 2.staff was pleasant 3. Breakfast wasn't bad
Review 123:no complaints at all.
Review 124:breakfast was very nice, staff very helpful, lots of parking space, nice and quiet yet it was sold out! walking distance to lots of great places.
Review 125:WiFi was a bit hit and miss. When connected it was always fast, but the connection seemed to drop, however this could have been due to my room location (332).
Review 126:This is the second time we've stayed here whilst visiting for the Beeders cup. The rooms are clean, well appointed and comfortable. Parking is never an issue and the breakfast is more than ample.
Review 127:Mediocre breakfast with unsociable server. AC unit in my room was pretty noisy though at the front desk they told me they were all due to be replaced soon. Wifi was a little slow and sometimes my I-devices wouldn't connect.
Review 128:Nice location by Whole Foods and near a string of interesting restaurants. Clean and fresh accommodations. Staff mostly friendly.
Review 129:My only problem was with a not very friendly and quite judgmental female front desk employee. Also the lady taking care of breakfast room could be more polite and at least say "good morning" to guests or at least pretend she likes her job.
Review 130:Pasadena Inn is located in a very nice area next to restaurants, walking distance to Pasadena convention center and Del Mar Metro Gold line station. It offers a pool and decent continental breakfast.
Review 131:A little too far to walk from The Rose Bowl with small children.
Review 132:Great stay! The staff was friendly and room was clean & comfortable. The continental breakfast was great and dining area was very nice.
Review 133:Had troubles connecting to the WiFi
Review 134:Rooms were big and Comfortable. Breakfast was simple Staff was very friendly and helpful Great location for our travels Plenty of parking
Review 135:The staff was super awesome!! They were very friendly and nice, and super helpful!! It is in a great location as well!! You can walk just ten minutes in any direction and pass a bunch of places to eat etc.
Review 136:The room was very clean and quiet. It's very close to downtown so it would be an easy walk to check out all the stores and shops. We stayed here for an event at the Rose Bowl and while they don't provide a shuttle to the Rose Bowl it's only about a mile and a half to the location where you can pick up a shuttle. That was too far for us to walk but for others it might not be. All in all we'd definitely stay here again.
Review 137:It's within walking distance of Old Town Pasadena, restaurants, shopping, churches, and the Gold Line light rail to Los Angeles. It's also within easy driving distance to lots of historical, recreational and entertainment attractions. This was the 4th time that I've stayed at the Pasadena Inn. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and the room clean and comfortable.
Review 138:The staff that checked us in were great. We arrived on an earlier flight and they were able to add an extra night for us and didn't charge us an early check in fee. The breakfast was good. Great location, close to Old Pasadena and the Del Mar Metro Station. Nice and clean with a nice big bed. Plenty of room to put our suitcases. Bar fridge and microwave in the room were handy. Wifi was great. Air conditioner was a little bit noisy but it worked efficiently.
