Reviews for Millennium Hotel Minneapolis
Review 1:Stayed there over another for the sauna and it didnt work. I have a sinus condition land helps a lot. disappointing. wouldnt get hot or even very warm. Still cant figure how a 14 dollar pizza becomes 21 dollar pizza.
Review 2:workers at front desk were very good. the night person above and beyond. Tried to order pizza and no one answered to take order. Gentle man at front desk did take care of that for us. Pool was very nice.
Review 3:Sauna never worked, floor surrounding pool was very slippery. Should put non slip strips around pool. Need to pump heat during winter at pool. Very cold when you get out of heated pool.
Review 4:Staff was excellent as a whole.
Review 5:didn't like the parking option. the garage was to small and the area was a tight fit for people driving full size pickups.
Review 6:liked the location and area of the hotel. easy to get anywhere we wanted to go.
Review 7:THE RESTRAUNT/BAR WAS CLOSED FOR THE EXACT DAYS THAT WE WERE THERE. A LITTLE FOR WARINING OF THIS WOULD HAD BEEN CONSIDERATE AS I HAD MY RESERVATIONS FOR MONTHS.
Review 8:STAFF WAS EXCEPTIONALY NICE TO US.
Review 9:1. Downstairs staff not friendly and helpful; very unusual for Mpls. No help with luggage; concierge tells you what door to use but doesn't open it for you. 2. Very, VERY small bathroom. 3. Dirty mattress cover (changed by maids). 4. Bed sheet doesn't fit mattress (no correct size available). 5. Poor breakfast. 6. Restaurant, room service, and bar closed for 3 days. Not a problem if known in advance but not on same day. Bar supposed to close at 9pm; no service available as of 8:40; Wolfgang (manager on duty) told the guests bar tender went home and to come back tomorrow.
Review 10:Maids very helpful.
Review 11:I was given a room on the 12th floor (member club). With access to a special lounge. That was great but there was never any staff in the lounge. There was a locked bar and no finger food. Maybe I misunderstood but I thought there were some amenities available in the lounge.
Review 12:Staff was very good. Facilities are very clean
Review 13:Received an upgrade that entitled us to hors d'oeuvres in the evening and breakfast in the morning on the top floor ....wonderful experience. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 14:The front desk staff are not very helpful.
Review 15:The location of the hotel is very close to the Minneapolis Convention Center, and it is connected to all the other nearby places via sky walker.
Review 16:At check in one of the front desk offered that I could get breakfast for 30 $ and get accessible to the lounge for some snakes but she didn't explain that I should have breakfast in the lounge club and not in the lobby. They charged my credit card for 4 days breakfast at the lounge club and charged me again for the breakfast at the lobby restaurant . I have been charged double ,at checking out one of the front desk stuff told me he will try to cancel the breakfast but my credit card has been charged !!!! Even if I return and try to get any explanation I wan't get my money back.
Review 17:The location as it is near the convention center, cleanliness, stuff at the restaurant in the lobby are very nice .
Review 18:I usually dislike large business-centric hotel for their stodgy policies and impersonal service. However, Millenium staff were immensely helpful at every step, and very friendly and attentive. Welcoming upon each arrival, even at the point of asking how my presentation went, having providing help with a printout. Now, I know this is just great marketing but a refreshing change with genuinely enthusiastic staff. Millenium, which i had never stayed at before, occupies a high rank in choices for the future.
Review 19:Location to convention center and restaurants was great. Also enjoyed the Lobby bar, work out room and ability to walk to convention center through the heated, enclosed walkways.
Review 20:Bathroom door was difficult to open once closed. Minor detail but never had that issue @ a hotel before.
Review 21:Bed was very comfortable and we got a great nights rest.
Review 22:No free wifi; heat didn't work; parking has no elevator or walkway ramp for pedestrians; a couple of false alarms and staff communicated nothing - restaurant freezing
Review 23:Location
Review 24:Tax is added separately. The price that's quoted is not inclusive of tax. It would be helpful to overseas customers if the price on the brochure was all inclusive.
Review 25:Helpful friendly staff with a good knowledge of area. Bar staff extremely nice. I can't fault the Hotel in any way.
Review 26:Except for the lobby, the rest of the hotel seemed like a plain hotel- small room, nondescript decor, nothing really outstanding. You better unload your luggage before you park, or it's a long walk down a lot of stairs from the parking garage.
Review 27:I liked the manager, who was quite friendly, and the location was nice
Review 28:The staff and the cleanliness
Review 29:We weren't very happy with our stay at The Millenium. The staff were RUDE and it did not seem to be a very clean looking hotel.
Review 30:I don't mind paying $200+ for a nice hotel room. Although nice, it was not worth that kind of money. I reserved a room with one king iszed bed but got a room with two standard beds. Parking $18 a night, a 16oz soda $6. And of course the complimentary bottle of water which would be added to your bill after check out.
Review 31:I waited 15 minutes to check in, I did not get any information about the breakfast, wifi etc. I had to ask myself. for the breakfast, I had to wait 10 minutes before being seated and another 5 minutes before seeing a waiter. The breakfast was good Paying the wifi at this price is a theft.
Review 32:breakfast pastries
Review 33:the air conditioner in the room did not keep it cool enough and many other guest were complaining about this as well.
Review 34:The fitness center was really nice. The location was pretty good. It was easy to catch the free bus to the light rail.
Review 35:The heating and cooling system is impossible to figure out. We had to have the maintenance man come and show us. Then, it made a rattling noise and the fan ran all night.
Review 36:The front desk was very nice and the parking is very convenient. Location is really good too.
Review 37:We were "upgraded" to club level. Our room was located right next to the club. It was loud and obnoxious music until 1:00 AM.
Review 38:Overall the room and stay was quite pleasant
Review 39:In each of the rooms we stayed, at least one lamp shade had been significantly damaged (crushed like an accordion) and for some reason had not yet been replaced.
Review 40:We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Overall the staff and facilities were great, beds were comfortable and amenities were plentiful. The on-site restaurant was great; we dined for breakfast and dinner and both were delicious. The pool was a good temp (not too cold) and has a deep end for adults which we really enjoyed. We did notice one small issue with our room after checking in, which Molly at the front desk resolved well beyond our expectations.
Review 41:They could use a fan in the fitness center..
Review 42:I liked the fact that housekeeping came in everyday to tidy up my room. There were always quick with any requests you had for extra towels or blankets. Restaurant food was excellent.
Review 43:I usually stay at the Hyatt across the street, but the free WiFi and breakfast that came with the room swayed me to stay at the Millennium. I'm so glad I did, it was a very good experience and I plan on staying at the Millennium when ever possible.
Review 44:Nothing really.
Review 45:This centrally located hotel was close to nice bike rentals forexploring the city and was perfect for accessing restaurants andentertainment. We traveled "America" for 2 weeks via planes, trains, and automobiles and out of the 9 hotels and motels we stayed in,this was the best. Minneapolis is just a nice place to hang out in andthe hotel supported that nice Midwestern feel. And Key's restaurantis within walking distance for great meals.
Review 46:I didn't like that I was not able to correctly control the temperature in my room - it felt a little muggy the whole time. Breakfast was okay, nothing special but expensive for what you got.
Review 47:It was convenient to where I needed to be and for walking in the evening. The room was comfortable and clean. I would consider staying there again.
Review 48:Had to wear ear plugs a few nights because of rowdy, drunken people outside at 3 am. Had to pay for internet access, thought it was supposed to be free with their frequent guest program.
Review 49:Good value for the price.
Review 50:The construction taking place outside the hotel was not appealing.
Review 51:Hotel was very nice and great to have parking right next to the hotel. Easy to walk to restaurants and stadiums.
Review 52:Was disappointed in the parking ramp. For a 1 night's stay, hotel guests get charged for 2 days, at a rate of $18 per night. Also my car was damaged in the ramp from leaking pipes. It leaked lime on the roof, hood and front quarter panel.
Review 53:The cleanliness of the rooms are welcoming and the beds are comfortable.
Review 54:Currently there is construction going on outside the hotel.
Review 55:The location is very convenient for dining out, shopping, and multiple venues. We went to Target Field to catch a game...easy walk to and from the park.
Review 56:Paying extra for wifi and parking. Also, putting a bottle of water in the room, which I thought a nice touch until I read the sign that indicated a $5 charge. Really???
Review 57:Nice updated accommodations, great lobby and restaurant.
Review 58:Room was cramped for two people. Sliding door on the bathroom would not stay closed.
Review 59:It was close to where we needed to be (Hyatt). Lots of interesting places within walking distance.
Review 60:From the moment I checked in, I have had so many issues with this hotel.Staff couldnt answer my questions or helped at all. My room didnt have aview as I requested. They over charge me more than $200 and I had tokeep fighting with them. Now this hotel charged me for the "nocheck in" fee when I did checked in and stayed 2 nights there!
Review 61:Nothing
Review 62:AC was out. We called maintenance to have it repaired. When we returned after an event at midnight we found a note that it couldn't be fixed. Told us we could pack up and move, but no attempt to call the number on record to warn us. We stayed in the hot room (Neither option was pleasant). When I communicated with the Director of Operations he was quite rude and even went on to blame us for not moving late at night when we discussed options to mitigate the horrible night. Room was refunded, but it wasn't worth the time and effort wasted dealing with the issue on the back-end. We won't stay at this hotel chain again in the future. Business lost thanks to poor customer service from the director level.
Review 63:Front desk staff was friendly, but that's where the customer service training seemed to have ended.
Review 64:Room was a "bit" small. Toilet got clogged. Thermostat took a rocket scientist to figure out.
Review 65:Close to Target field and all of the action in downtown Minneapolis.
Review 66:One of the quietest and cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. Restaurant staff for breakfast were like family after two days. Super convenient to Nicollet Mall. Parked once and walked everywhere until we left two days later.
Review 67:Confusing (or just unresponsive) HVAC controls, but the windows open!
Review 68:Closest to the Convention Center and 25% cheaper than the two designated conference hotels. Also on Nicollet Mall. Cleanliness was great. Quiet!
Review 69:Pool &Sauna-not clean and not enjoyable to be in, Room was blah, shoddy work for recent renovation. Staff- a couple were excellent. Most seemed very unhappy to be there and not educated about their jobs.
Review 70:The food was good, the lobby is pretty nice. Location great.
Review 71:Front desk staff was more interested in conversing with each other than assisting guests - didn't feel the need to go out of their way to answer questions or assist.
Review 72:Nice room. Room service was efficient
Review 73:Front Desk has two types of people; the processors with no initiative which is understandable and a manager, trying to conceal his laziness and lack of understanding of business with his arrogance that is making him look pathetic and the hotel look real bad...
Review 74:I wish there was free internet access. Even in the lobby would be nice. I was on business but I had to pay my own expenses.
Review 75:Staff was very friendly and helpful. I needed a new phone charger so they told me how to get to a Verizon store close by, the time it opened. This got me out of a real bind!
Review 76:Pretty far from City Center where I needed to go every day, but forced me to do more walking. The city needs to clean up all the riff raff hanging out downtown, I certainly would never have my wife walk through that mess.
Review 77:Good rate per night, nice exercise facility, clean, quiet. Some really good restaurants nearby including a Mexican restaurant that was outstanding.
Review 78:Had to pay for wifi. Did not like that the parking space had no elevator. Dragging wheeled luggage down/up the stairs and the wheels would get stuck on the loose grip strips on the steps...
Review 79:The location was near the Minnesota Convention Center, where I was attending a conference, made the location desirable.
Review 80:Room had noisy ventilation. Thermostat and TV clicker didn't work, quickly fixed by responsive staff. I had to eat a lot of room service and on-site restaurant food owing to an injury to my foot. Food was really mediocre for price... But normal for a chain hotel Club level did not have a microwave in club room.
Review 81:good staff.
Review 82:Nothing!
Review 83:My wife and I were traveling separately, meeting in Minneapolis. Iwanted to drop off my bags because there wouldn't be room in therental car for all our luggage. Lori at the desk took charge and checkedme in early, had the bags sent to the room so I could get to theairport. Furthermore, Anita and Lori were so pleasant, calling us byname and making us feel so welcomed! That is simply exceptional!
Review 84:I stay at this hotel several times a year (4-5 times a year) but there is no acknowledgement of this by, for example, allowing a later check out time when needed, or free wifi. More info or knowledgeable assistance about how to find sites, restaurants etc.
Review 85:Location is great - relatively to close to lots of things.
Review 86:The only problem we came up against was over the weekend when a convention was being held at the hotel and there was no handicapped parking available, but the hotel staff comped me two days parking for the inconvenience.
Review 87:It was centrally located to everything we wanted or needed to do. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The staff was very helpful and understanding of my disabled daughter. Had a great stay.
Review 88:The inclusions language is very ambiguous It says WIFI AVL in rooms.but in checking in they say it's chargeable.this is playing with words.Customers are not lawyers to decipher such language ambiguities Breakfast is very minimal wrt global stds- only one menu is allowed and not the buffet type Asia prevelant in most hotels even in better cities for a 200 USD charge !!!!! Gosh overall all very less value for money
Review 89:Location is good and that's it
Review 90:I liked how close the hotel was to the Convention Center, it was very accessible. The beds were comfortable and the room was nice. I found the staff at the front desk friendly and helpful.
Review 91:The bed was a little too soft for my liking.
Review 92:Had breakfast at North 45. It was one of the best meals I had in the US. The crab benedict was delicious. Yummy!
Review 93:The water pressure wasn't very good and the TV channel guide wasn't correct at all which meant paging through all the channels to find what we were looking for.
Review 94:The staff were very friendly and welcoming at this hotel. There was a nice bar area with a great fireplace where we sat for a drink before meeting up with friends. The bed and bedding was nice and comfortable and having a refridgerator was fantastic.
Review 95:The bar is extremely over priced. No breakfast, coffee in room tastes awful and they do not offer coffee anywhere else. Parking is $18, and ifyou have anything larger than a compact car, good luck in parking ramps!
Review 96:I had 2 pay $80 for parking for 4 nights which is outrageous. I have a $22 charge against my card this is unwarranted and I've tryed to get ahold of billing for 3 days with no luck. For ye price I paid it was not worth it at all
Review 97:Party weekend! Probably just bad timing on our part, but the hotel was full of fun-seekers who were way too loud and obstreperous in the hallways at 2AM. Management was contrite and advised us to ring them up if it happened again, with the word that such guests would be evicted if they couldn't keep it down.
Review 98:Staff were 110% friendly, helpful, informed and empowered to act. A great crew.
Review 99:My room stayed very cold. Every time I turn the heat up it wouldn't change, it was very cold the whole time I was there which made it very uncomfortable.
Review 100:My bed was really comfortable.
Review 101:Didn't like having to pay $19 for parking. If not attending events at convention center you should stay somewhere else. Way too much congestion & traffic!!
Review 102:Clean, comfortable room. Glad to have refrigerator!
Review 103:Did not like the 18dollars a day to park, found that to be ridiculous...no free breakfast,no free wi-fi,the rooms are fair, hallway noise is very loud
Review 104:We liked the downtown location and the staff
Review 105:Wifi - should be free for guests. Room was small but clean and welcoming.
Review 106:The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean and inviting. We liked the newer bar/restaurant.
Review 107:When we first arrived to check in, we were given keys only to enter a room that hadn't yet been cleaned. We had to go back down to the desk, to get reassigned to a different room. It was kind of annoying, but ended up with a bigger room at no additional cost.
Review 108:Great location and great value
Review 109:They had spelt my last name wrong so when I called ahead to check on my reservation - they said that I did not have a room Had to call bookings.com and they took care of it right away
Review 110:Location Coming back to the room to find the lights turned on and a little treat at your bedside
Review 111:No breakfast buffet. Expensive breakfast. WIFI very slow in some times during the day.
Review 112:Room well furbished for business. Modern infrastructure Fitness room. Location.
Review 113:staff very helpful. helped us find all those little great places to eat, shuttle, and sites. stored our luggage all day while at convention center at no charge then helped us get it to convention center to board our charter bus home.
Review 114:I'm sure the skywalk system limits the size and location of signage, but better signage indicating the hotel entrance would be nice.
Review 115:Very convenient location and the price was very reasonable. Short walk to great food.
Review 116:Bartender at bar not very friendly. She didnt want to give me complementary snacks. (Which friends next to me got ten minutes before) Bar was open for another hour. Bartender wanted to close. Appeared closing. More important then serving customers
Review 117:We had a couple issues with are room. However the management took care of the issues immediatly. We would absolutely stay again. Great room especially for the price. Great location.
Review 118:We had some confusion over our bill the first night but the hotel staff was very gracious and straightened the problem out promptly. The only complaint we had was with the heating/cooling in our room. We were unable to keep a constant temperature, even with the thermostat properly set. It was chilly during the day and too hot at night. Never the less, this was minor and did not impede our enjoyment.
Review 119:The location was wonderful for our purposes. We were traveling between the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, and various shopping / eating locations on Nicolette Mall, so this was an ideal location. The light rail system is available at the end of Nicolette Mall and we were able to use this to take us right to the Univeristy. We went to the Mall of America via car from here. In traffic it was about a 15 minute commute. Not bad! I had stayed here several times in the past before the renovations. I was very pleasantly surprised with the changes. Great value for the cost.
Review 120:Absurd cost of parking. Inability to change room temperature (pretty sure our thermostat was broken).
Review 121:Location. Kind and helpful staff. Great food options. Good water pressure.
Review 122:Located in the heart of the city, nicely situated for us of public transit systems, connected to skyways, stylish professional hotel at an affordable price
Review 123:Broken pipe Rain in the lobby, the air cranked up to 85 degrees in the middle of the night, it was not very easy to figure out how to turn it off and it finally shut off then an hour later it spiked out again and went to 85 degrees. A manager came to the room and pocked at the display and got it to shut off again. NOT GOOD. Simple AC controls would be Smart, It was a very Stupid choice putting that display in there with symbols and no legend to depict operations. The night before my AC unit buzzed every 30 seconds like a cell phone in Room 578, the AC out of control was in room 447 (i believe). If the AC was easy and operated correctly my feelings would have been a lot better about the hotel.
Review 124:The bar was great, the staff were really nice.
Review 125:The front desk staff took extra special care of us when we arrived. I had arranged for flowers to be delivered to the room upon our arrival. The staff made sure that it was kept as a surprise to my friend and that all plans had been followed to assure they were there in the room when we arrived.
Review 126:The "city view" was of the basketball court for the apartment building nearby along with a beautiful view of the roof including the massive AC unit. I was also disappointed with the size of the "superior" king double room. With 5 people in there getting ready, it was impossible to move around without bumping into anything or anyone. Just didn't expect such a cramped room for 200 bucks. Then their parking garage filled up to the point that people, including one of the guests for our room, had to park across the street at the Hyatt.
Review 127:The room was clean and bathroom well stocked with towels. Mini fridge in room.
Review 128:The hotel did not have cooling system working. I know it's October, but it's still pleasant out, not all of us want to crank up the heat. I like my room cool for sleeping so I had to open my window to cool room. Had to listen to rooftop equipment and street all night. Not happy.
Review 129:Rooms were comfortable....fridge in room and coffee maker always appreciated. Location is terrific...connected by walkway to convention center. very nice.
Review 130:The thermostat was a pain to use and slow to react. Cleaning person set the temp to 85 degrees one day, 62 degrees another, and took my razor twice. Batteries in the remote died.
Review 131:Great front desk staff, friendly and helpful engineering guy, huge bed with tons of pillows, nice shower, terrific food from room service. Nice, clean fitness room. Easy to get a cab. Right in the middle of town. Nicollet Diner nearby -- great burgers and wait staff.
Review 132:Everything was wonderful!!! From the excellent staff to the luxurious room...we loved it all. The pool was awesome and to our surprise had little to no activity which almost never happens when staying at a hotel so I was actually able to use it. The room was very nice with a great view. The club level had great amenities including free wifi, breakfast, appetizers, and a full lounge area to our use the entire time. Towards the end of our stay there was an incident with other occupants trashing the club lounge at some point in the late night but the staff and management handled it swiftly and professionally without disturbing any other occupants. We only knew of the incident because we were checking out and wanted to grab a coffee from the lounge and were asked to refrain until the mess was cleaned up which was understandable. The gentleman at the front desk helping us with our check out was so gracious and ordered coffee for us from the restaurant. I do not remember his name but he was from New York and new to the area as well but very friendly. Over all excellent stay...I will for sure be back and recommend to everyone staying in the MSP area.
Review 133:I liked it all;)
Review 134:We were very satisfied with our stay. The front desk staff was particularly impressive in their efforts to accommodate us. Kudos to them!
Review 135:Room a bit small for the money, but still nice and clean.
Review 136:Staff was very friendly and helpful. The place was a prime location for walking to downtown activities. Great view from the room.
