Reviews for Maple Terrace Motel

Review 1:nothing

Review 2:This place was so clean, if you had a higher rating it would have earned it. Both spouses worked for cruise line before retiring to Williamstown and their experience shows.

Review 3:The shower was a bit tight. The description of the rooms said all had a picture window looking out on a garden. While the enormous weeping willow in the parking lot is rather amazing, I did not enjoy looking out the picture window at my car.

Review 4:Loved the back yard. The room was clean, comfortable, and big enough.

Review 5:Continental breakfast: just coffee and a piece of cake. Bed is a bit narrow, especially for US standard!!

Review 6:Peaceful and beautiful area. Nice decoration. Cleanliness.

Review 7:The proprietors are very nice. The rooms are pleasant, comfortable, and clean. The grounds are lovely. And it's a short walk to the Williams campus and downtown area. Very accessible.

Review 8:The property is beautiful, but we were only able to be there at night. There is no nighttime access to the pool as there are no lights, so I felt that we were paying a lot of money for grounds we couldn't really enjoy. But the property was very nice, clean, and well-located

Review 9:our air conditioner roared on about every half hour and I lost some sleep because of it

Review 10:what beautiful grounds. enjoyed a swim, breakfasted in the garden

Review 11:We loved the location (close to Clark Art Institute, MassMOCA, and Williams College Art Museum), and the beautiful grounds. The owners were friendly and helpful.

Review 12:This is a classic old motel. It could use updating but somehow it all works. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment, which was very comfortable. The air conditioner in one room was not that great, which only mattered because it was so hot when we were there. Great location. We were given great advice about local dining.

Review 13:An extra shelf in the bathroom and more hooks would have been optimal though it was fine as it was.

Review 14:Free bottled water, continental breakfast, excellent beds, gorgeous garden where you can picnic. Good shower,

Review 15:"Continental breakfast" not quite as substantial as I was expecting

Review 16:Have always wanted to stay in a motel and this one was lovely! And late evening I got caught in the midst of a Mayfly swarm which I found quite magical!! Clean, well-equipped, good wi-fi, plenty of parking and was able to leave the car after check out whilst I explored Williamstown on foot. Cosy arrangement of chalets and beautifully laid out gardens. Lovely owners.

Review 17:Being able to walk to the Williams campus, swim in the pool and be totally comfortable. the outdoor areas were nice and we got the complimentary breakfast and sat outside.

Review 18:We were so pleased with the welcome at 10:00 pm after a very rainy drive. The room was immaculate, the mattress and bedding were great and the remote was easy to work. The next morning we enjoyed the blueberry bread, coffee and juice. We will come back as part of a family holiday in the Berkshires.

Review 19:Just a minor note, room 106 which we were in is besides the operating room and the heating was a bit noisy at night.

Review 20:This was by far the nicest motel we've been so far to. Especially the garden was so beautiful and lovely arranged, nice for relaxing, and even the dog had her running area. The room and bath were absolutely clean, something that we find most important.

Review 21:The Maple Terrace is a charming, rather old-fashioned New England motel. Our room was smallish but comfortable, well equipped, and impeccably clean. The owners were very helpful, even storing some things for us in their refrigerator, and they provided excellent tips on local restaurants.

Review 22:I enjoyed my stay very much at the Maple Terrace Motel. The owners are very friendly and provided excellent guidance about the area. My room was nicely appointed, very clean, and had excellent WIFI. I would recommend staying here to anyone.

Review 23:Not a complaint, everything was fine, a microwave in the room was the only thing missing.

Review 24:Owners take great care to make sure you feel welcome. I was asked the purpose of my visit and was given directions to my event, suggestions on places to eat and offered other places I might be interested in seeing.

Review 25:a quibble - true as another reviewer noted, the cinnamon bun in the room with tea/coffee was commercial but have never received anything like that before - the coffee could have been stronger but i am from New ORleans and always think the coffee could have been stronger

Review 26:location could not have been better - could walk to museums - even if no car, could take bus to North Adams - the owners were responsive but not intrusive - Ann got brochures that she thought would interest us - restaurant recommendation was great - free phone to the Continental US since cell phone reception is non-existent except for Verizon - my friend requested a fragrance-free room and they remembered and complied so she was very happy

Review 27:We had a double room w/ two double beds - and did not appreciate that there was a charge for persons 3 & 4. I had expected the rate we paid for the room to be the cost of the room.

Review 28:The motel was very conveniently located for our purposes - visiting Williams College, the town's art museums and Mass MoCA. Orientation of building kept out road noise. Nice owners.

Review 29:The proprietor was informative and helpful. He was clearly proud of the motel and seemed to genuinely care that we enjoyed our visit. The room was well equipped, quiet and cozy. And anyone who leaves pecan twirls in my room to accompany my early morning tea will always win my heart -- or at least a rave review!

Review 30:DVD player lacked a remote control that made its use cumbersome, but still usable.

Review 31:Everything was well maintained and clean. Little details made the stay above and beyond a "motel" stay.

Review 32:Not very secure and the deadbolt lock would not engage at all. A breeze slightly opened the door so that the cold air (was 4 degrees outside) would waft in, had to prop a chair against the door knob to keep the door closed tight. Towels could use fabric softner, chairs uncomfortable.

Review 33:Location, close to where I needed to be, easy to get to.

Review 34:This is a very nice motel at 10 mins walking distance from the Willams College campus and from the main street of Williamstown (Spring street). The owners are very friendly. Wifi worked reliably, but was a tad slow,

Review 35:- Small room/bath a little small for us (We'll just book a bigger room next time!) - Parking areas a little tight

Review 36:- Perfect location for exploring area - Close to stores, restaurants, etc. - Lovely views from all rooms - Beautifully kept grounds/gardens - Plenty of outdoor space(w. pool - for summer reference) - Friendly, helpful staff - Excellent hospitality area

Review 37:The motel is extremely well cared for and the room very comfortable and spotless. The innkeeper is most helpful and knowledgable and recommended a great restaurant. And it is a great value!

Review 38:Pity no facilities for more breakfast; tea, coffee, juice and cake available to take back to room.

Review 39:Location, walking distance to the town centre and College Campus. Lovely setting, backing on to fields with picnic area and swimming pool. Helpful owners.

Review 40:Lack of adequate breakfast at an adequate time for me (I had to leave rather early in the morning - around 7:00am).

Review 41:The place is quaint, very cute. Makes one feel he's suddenly back in the '50s.

Review 42:Continental breakfast just muffin, coffee, tea, and juice.

Review 43:Very comfortable, friendly owner. Excellent value for money. Good location near to Clark art museum.

Review 44:Small bathroom in room; slight musty smell; tight parking.

Review 45:Clean, comfortable room; great location that's walking distance to shops in town, The Clark Art Institute, and the campus; lovely grounds; competitive room price.

Review 46:no bath tub in bathroom. just a shower which detracted from the feeling of comfort. no advance warning that there was no tub.this reduces the feeling about the value since i regard a room with shower only as being low end.being a thursday nite the deal pricewise was not that great.

Review 47:the absolutely great condition of this motel.the feeling of being off the main road.and quietness at nightime

Review 48:We did not partake of the continental breakfast so cannot comment. The sweet roll provided in the room was just okay.

Review 49:Very clean. Terrific shower with bathing lotions & shampoo dispenser and plenty of towels. Comfortable bed. Usual amenities provided, including WiFi, fridge. nearby soda machine, ice in reception area and coffee brewer in room. AC and adjustable heat controls. Beautiful setting and gardens, although it was too cool for us to sit outside or to use the pool. Spectacular willow tree! Gracious host/ess who provided helpful info about restaurants. Very convenient to everything in Williamstown. A great deal if you don't expect super fancy.

Review 50:Old-fashioned bedspreads that are probably never washed, windows that can't open, heavy musty smell, cheap sheets tears in them.

Review 51:Gardens are lovely. No sign of the grazing horses mentioned in another review.

Review 52:I was very happy there. Nothing negative to say

Review 53:Friendliness Cleanliness Continental breakfast Hospitality Convenience to Williamstown and North Adams Aim to please
