Reviews for Regency Inn & Suites - Saint Augustine

Review 1:There were sugar ants all over the room. Told someone and the response was, something like, they were always in the rooms and they can't get rid of them. When we had the room cleaned they never washed the sink.

Review 2:The staff at the front desk was great.

Review 3:Couldn't stay longer!!!!

Review 4:Wrong dates, but we were taken care of VERY well! LOVE the genius traveler reward! Comfortable bed, clean room, quiet, great location! I already booked my next stay!

Review 5:We were with friends and both of our rooms were damp. Smelt like the carpet was wet...which in fact it was in BOTH rooms. Not sure if they had had a flood recently but it wasn't pleasant. Office ladies took a little while to print out a simple email...not sure if they do this very often.

Review 6:Very quiet. Good breakfast. Parking great. Good price. Just a simple, basic motel for St Augustine. No bells or whistles.

Review 7:Above

Review 8:First, booking.Com screwed me and will never use them again! Next the last that checked me in was such a b. She said that she had been made to work very long hrs a b d that was why,. Then the room was covered in tiny sugar ants. Never again will I use booking.Com or Regency. ..

Review 9:Breakfast was only frozen cupcakes, crossions, and caeral, too much sugar for me.

Review 10:Beach was very close. We got a pack n play for our kid. Room was comfortable!

Review 11:Free breakfast is not much, but it beats paying $15.00. Danish, toast, bananas, juice Maybe a minor smell but what hotel doesn't.

Review 12:Always clean when I've been there. Always quiet. Bars/restaurants in walking distance. Beach/pier across the road. Quiet enough AC and cold. I really want to take one of their pillows. (But won't)

Review 13:The only down was everything off of a cetral staircase which made for extra walking. Needed the exercise anyway.

Review 14:Excellent location for our needs. Close to good restaurants. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was fine and staff very pleasant. Rooms was veery clean!

Review 15:The quality of the items in the bathroom - soap and shampoo were terrible. For what they charge, they should offer better items.

Review 16:It was a good location in a good area close to a nice restaurant/bar and gas station.

Review 17:The king-sized mattress was kind of hard and there was only dry cereal and beverages for breakfast.

Review 18:The location was great...right across the street from the beach at walking distance. The service was friendly and rooms were promptly cleaned each day.

Review 19:Breakfast was very poor.when we went for breakfast there was only 1 banana, one sort of bread to toast and nothing else than marmelade to put on your bread. Room was not dirty but could be cleaner.

Review 20:What so see is what you get. bed was fine. Good enough for the low price you pay.Good location.

Review 21:No breakfast included as advertised. They didn't have an iron and ironing board. The soap was too cheap and broke into as soon as you used it.

Review 22:Cleanliness and friendly staff, as well as location.

Review 23:Found a dirty blanket with panties in a dresser drawer. Told the owner who said housekeeping doesn't check drawers.

Review 24:The pool the location the property itself.

Review 25:Mildew smell was a little overwhelming but they said they were getting ready to pull up all the carpet.

Review 26:It was convenient to everything. Love that the beach was across the street.enjoyed the inside pool.very quiet and peaceful for its location. Employees were helpful and friendly.

Review 27:The bathroom door hit the toilet every time someone had to use the restroom. Volume on television was pre set and was too low. The bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast danish was stale.

Review 28:The shower was amazing, water pressure was great. Wifi was fast.

Review 29:I didn't like that once you walk into the room, you can smell the room was stuffy and that they need to air it out sometimes before they put people in their. I didn't liked that their was little bugs crawling, it wasn't too much but two, but still if there had of been more I would of left.

Review 30:I liked that they didn't have those old bed comforters on the beds. The room was clean and good just passed my standards.

Review 31:Nothing bad, ever!

Review 32:Once again, Regency didn't let us down. The staff is friendly and the facilities are in great shape. The bed is firm but we all slept quite well. Their pillows are also very nice. The breakfast bar has coffee, juice, cereals, bread for toast, bananas, and pastries. Just a little something to get you going before your "real" breakfast if that's what you wish. A beautiful stay!

Review 33:The caulk in the shower is cracked where a little bit of water can get behind it, would not be noticeable at all except that I am highly allergic to mold and mildew. Very simple fix, just a new line of caulk. Otherwise, no complaints at all.

Review 34:Everything worked in the room, clean bed and friendly staff. Excellent location next to restraunts and the beach. Indoor pool was clean.

Review 35:There was no protein at all in the breakfast... all sugar and processed carbs. No nutrition at all. Little choice. Went somewhere else.

Review 36:They are overall succeeding at providing a quality room for a reasonable price. Bed was very comfortable. Location is great.

Review 37:We had no complaints. If pressed, I suppose we could complain about a slightly antiseptic odor in the room, but it's an indication that the room is cleaned thoroughly between guests. Staff was very friendly, helpful and responsive. The beds were excellent, with extra pillows. The TV was large-screen LCD and wifi was fast. Location directly across from the pier allowed for free and easy beach access on foot. There are several restaurants within a couple of blocks of the hotel. It's a short drive to the old St. Augustine and is served by the trolley line. The complimentary breakfast included cereals, fresh fruit and juice, coffee and pastries and was more than satisfactory. Not a fancy hotel, but provides all necessary comforts in a great location.

Review 38:Not much, but two things were slightly annoying~~~the bathroom fan made terrible noises ( unavoidable since automatically activated with the light) , and the door cards were so faulty that we had to work for as much as ten minutes to unlock the door.

Review 39:The room was so well put-together that it looked like a lovely home rather than a motel room~~~very handsome, especially the bedding!

Review 40:The complimentary breakfast was not very good just pastries and cereal and the indoor pool was very cloudy and a strong odor of chlorine

Review 41:The location was good for the beach and going down town

Review 42:Excellent stay especially for the price. Right across the beach with restaurants in walking distance. The room was clean and fresh. Will definitely stay there again.

Review 43:When they clean the rooms a very unappealing aroma to the cleaning materials or spray they use but not enough to be a negative.

Review 44:Stayed here twice - rooms are very clean, wifi always works. Friendly staff. Convenient to beach, gas station, and restaurant.

Review 45:Have to get rid of the carpets, they stink up the room too much moisture kept lock up in the rooms. Florida is not a place for carpets.

Review 46:the location, across the beach , Jessica at the front desk was very sweet.

Review 47:They need a small patio outside

Review 48:It is an older hotel, but it was one of the cleanest I have stayed in a long time. The sheets on the beds actually smelled clean like bleach, and the comforter was clean. The continental breakfast was enough to start your day, very very pleased

Review 49:I requested an early check in and they didn't honor it. She said it was too early but the webpage gave me th option to request 4 am and that's when we arrived. We had to pay another night instead but she did uograde our room. The breakfast is blah. Cereal Danishes muffins and donuts and bananas, Apple and orange juice but the orange was awful. Bread for toasting and jellies. We didn't rent the room for the breakfast but we took it to the beach for an afternoon snack and it was good.

Review 50:We've stayed here before and returned this year for the location and the price. The staff were nice enough and helpful.

Review 51:the only complaint was my pillow.... But that is always my complaint!

Review 52:room was very clean and staff was very friendly. Location was perfect. Best value on a1a!

Review 53:Terrible wifi, beds were hard, towels were WAY to small, and breakfast was not that good.

Review 54:The location was convenient because it was next to the beach and close to the downtown area.

Review 55:You can't beat being right across the street from beach. Bonus there is a convienence store eight there which sells everything even wine. 3 popular restaurants with outside seats and seller food walking distance. My room was spotless when I arrived and had a fridge and microwave. Perfect spot perfect price. Only a short 5-10 minute right to the historic district.

Review 56:The hotel did not have any chairs outside the rooms for smoking...or for what ever reason you might like to sit outside.

Review 57:Convenient to the beach and trolley stop. There are also several restaurants close by without having to drive into town.

Review 58:The indoor pool is still out of service. It has not been available each time I have gone. I hope they can find a better use for the space.

Review 59:I like the cleanliness, location and friendly staff. It is right next to the public park and beach. There is food nearby and a city bus to carry you to the tourist sites.

Review 60:While the bedroom portion is well furnished, the bathroom needs work, cracks, mold, etc.

Review 61:Across the road from St. Augustine city beach on A1A, can walk and avoid parking. By far the cheapest accommodation in the area.

Review 62:Not the hotel's fault but beware: there was an event at the beach causing traffic to back up. Police were downright rude and insulting, and definitely not interested in helping us get turned into the hotel. If there's an event at the beach try to come in so you can make a right hand turn.

Review 63:Great location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, nice TV. Just a great, affordable trip. I would definitely stay here again!!

Review 64:Had trouble getting wifi to work. Also cell phone signal didn't work in room. My room was next to the ice machine and it got very loud in the morning when people were getting ice.

Review 65:This hotel is in a great location. Easy walk to the beach and local restaurants as well as a quick drive to nearby downtown st. Augustine. We reserved three rooms for our family. Rooms were clean and spacious and very affordable . Would definitely stay again.

Review 66:Carpet and linens had a moldy smell but was almost expected for the price and proximity to the beach. Walls and bathroom were a little shabby and definitely showed a little wear.

Review 67:For the price for a one night place to crash or even if you just don't care about anything too fancy (spring breakers, beach goers), it really isn't too bad..plus free breakfast of cereal, cheese danish, banana, coffee..not too bad.

Review 68:The door to the bathroom was falling apart at the bottom and needs to be replaced. The walls showed dirt and spills that had not been cleaned up.

Review 69:The location was great, the staff welcoming, and the bed was comfortable. Good facility for the price.

Review 70:We loved it all. The staff was excellent, friendly, smiling and helpful. It was Myself, my adult daughter and 2 grandsons age 6. We had the best time. Walking to the beach across the road to swim, walking to Panama Hatties to eat right next door up stairs overlooking the beach. The indoor pool was awesome. Just the right temperature. The rooms are bright I think just remodeled with new carpet and tile and paint. The TV is nice and large great reception. Wifi. Free cold breakfast. I can't say enough it was great. Will do again.

Review 71:Giant cobwebs in windows, thilthy carpet (really should be tile, as its on the beach), poor maintenance issues. The ceiling was falling in, the bathtub was stained and cracking and the carpet left my feet black.

Review 72:The location & the staff, cleanliness of linens. The breakfast wasn't too bad, but they need more fruit and perhaps a change of the sweet rolls once in awhile. The staff was super friendly!

Review 73:Pictures have been taken by a pro photographer. It looks nice, but not as good as in the pics. Expect clean rooms, but a little outdated.

Review 74:Location was excellent. Hotel is flanked by a gas station and 2 great places to eat and have drinks. And it's right at the beach! Good showers and beds.

Review 75:Not enough parking, was told to park in Handicappers Parking space because there was nowhere else to. Handicapped parking was 3 spaces side by side - think they should be spaced around singly. Slow WIFI but worked.

Review 76:Great Location, close to everything. Neat & Clean rooms. Friendly & courteous staff. Nice and quite rooms - No Noise in the room from Salt Life Restaurant next door & convenience store in front. Ocean directly across the road.

Review 77:We were in town overnight, wished it were longer. Great location, great price. Staff was pleasant and turned us on to a great restaurant a couple blocks away.

Review 78:Breakfast not very good if you are doing low-carb. Coffee was not very good - made my own with in-room coffeemaker. Bathroom a bit rundown, although clean and adequate.

Review 79:The room was very clean and large. The beds and bedding were very nice quality and quite comfortable. Loved being across the street from the beach. TV was a nice, large flatscreen. Liked having refrigerator and microwave and coffeemaker.

Review 80:Bed was kinda hard but ok if you like that kind of bed. WiFi wasn't that great

Review 81:Minutes walk from the beach. Close to everything we wanted to see walking distance to store and resturants

Review 82:You could hear your neighbours having conversations, noisy traffic in early morning in the service corridors. Partiers kept us awake most of one night.

Review 83:Location was good to drive to attractions in the area.

Review 84:Heater and air conditioner didn't work. Toilet seat was very loose. They cleaned the rug at about 3:00 in the afternoon and because there no heat the rug didn't until next morning.l

Review 85:The room I got initially was laden with the scent of cigarette. Called front desk for another room because I could not breathe after about 2 hrs. Told her why and her response was not customer friendly.

Review 86:Location

Review 87:Staff not well informed about dining options, we almost passed up an excellent dinner and cocktails at Salt Life right next door because staff said it was too expensive. Perhaps you could have some menus available from the nearby restaurants. Breakfast was very poor quality.

Review 88:Location was very good.

Review 89:Only once did I get upset. A few teenagers were being obnoxious in thefairly small pool. After 10 minutes I had to ask the hotel staff to dosomething and I was told that they were not their parents!

Review 90:Location, location, location. Right in the middle of all the best spotson the island. Wednesday farmers market right across the street alongwith the pier and public beach (which is almost empty if you turn leftonce on the beach and walk about 2 minutes to the wildlife preservearea. Avoid salt life! Ultra rip off!

Review 91:There were some noisy young drunks on my floor. Might have been because of spring break. Police had to come one evening.

Review 92:Close to beach and restaurants

Review 93:Beds were very firm and uncomfortable. Door to room would not close. Although it advertised breakfast, what actually existed was 2 loaves of cheap bread and a few cheap pastries. This was never replenished during the morning. It would be better to say that a small space to eat breakfast was available if you brought your own food. It is a room, nothing else

Review 94:Location is the most positive aspect of this hotel.

Review 95:only carbs for breakfast...even one measly hard boiled egg would be helpful-included in the reasonable cost though...

Review 96:Right across the street from the ocean, comfortable king size bed - always a plus

Review 97:Bed was hard. Toilet seat didn't fit toilet. Carpet looked clean but an overall sense of not being fresh and clean prevailed.

Review 98:It's right across street from public access to the beach

Review 99:The breakfast wasn't the best. But could have been worse. There is not an ocean view. The bed was firm. Very very firm. I didn't like the bed.

Review 100:The hotel was nice. Great price and location.

Review 101:The convenience of the location. Close drive to a variety of sites, stores and restaurants as well as many in walking distance. BONUS...the beach is across the street.

Review 102:Had to ask for the iron board and iron...not a huge deal

Review 103:This is a real steal. The motel is across from the beach, and is clean and comfortable. I usually stay at Hilton's and the like, but I will be back. This is a terrific value!! P.S. The staff were very, very accommodating!!

Review 104:Very comfy beds and large, pleasantly decorated room. I really like the nice-size fridge and microwave; hair dryer; great shower. And very accommodating, friendly staff. The location is A-1 with several nice bar/restaurants very close by. And the pier across the street. Also beaches down the road.

Review 105:I was greatly surprised by how much larger the room was than I'd anticipated, including a glass shower and separate jacuzzi tub. The hotel was situated right across A1A from the hotel and relatively close to a number of great restaurants and far enough away from the touristy areas of the city to not suffer from too much congestion.

Review 106:I went especially because they had an indoor pool, but the pool was under renovation when I arrived. You really need a car if you stay here, since there is absolutely dismal public transportation into St. Augustine town.

Review 107:It's very close to the beach, (basically across the street) and there are numerous restaurants at all price levels within walking distance. .

Review 108:Had a slight lingering smell of cigarette smoke even though the room was listed as non-smoking.

Review 109:Very pleasantly surprised with a clean and spacious room. We were 4 adults and a baby

Review 110:Wifi signal is so poor that we did not have internet on our iPad.

Review 111:Very clean, 3 min from St Augustine amazing beach, tasty breakfast with a variety of fruits, cereals, breads, pastries, jams, juices, tea and coffee. Comfortable beds, flat huge TV, coffee maker, fridgee, microwave in room, snowy white towels. Very clean what many budget hotels are critically missing.

Review 112:A patron burned popcorn in their room that set off fire alarm, but staff managed quickly and communicated well to everyone. Made us feel secure in knowing the alarm system works and staff know what to do in the event of an emergency.

Review 113:Clean, comfortable room, pleasant helpful staff ... Being across the street from the peer and next door to Saltlife didnt hurt either!

Review 114:it was a convenient walk to the ocean when we woke up ... Staff was very friendly. The beds are a little too hard for me personally... And when people go in and out of rooms, the doors slam rather loudly - so when you have late nighters they keep you up or wake you up going in and out of their rooms. But the hotel itself was good, especially for the price.

Review 115:Across street from beach, short trip to historical area, gas station on corner for snacks, drinks...big restaurant across street with huge upstairs balcony...just a neat place for beach get a way....coffee n adequate breakfast in lobby...

Review 116:We stayed at Regency during an event weekend. The rate was excellent and we were able to check in early as planned. All the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. This time we also got one of the remodeled rooms and the mattress and pillows were wonderful. This was another great stay at the Regency, our only choice for our home away from home.

Review 117:The place was very clean but did smell old. Not a deal breaker though!

Review 118:The hotel was very clean and well taken care of. Staff was really nice and accommodating! Breakfast was fresh! Location was right across from the beach and only 2 miles from downtown! We would definitely stay there again!

Review 119:I found a quarter on the floor near the bed when we first arrive meaning floor was not vacuumed very well. On our last night we found blood in the other beds comforter meaning they need to wash ALL bedding. The housekeeper put 2 flat sheets instead of 1fitted sheet and 1flat sheet on our bed the last night we were there. Housekeeping could use a class on how to clean a room.

Review 120:The location was good. Right across the street from he beach. Front desk staff was great. It was nice and quiet no noisy neighbors.

Review 121:Friendly and helpful staff at reception. Clean, quiet, and comfortable room. Parking and wi-fi were included with the room rate. Located close to the the beach. Short drive to the historic part of St Augustine. Walking distance to several restaurants and bars.

Review 122:Breakfast area as a little too small. Some mornings people ended up eating in the lobby. During the busy season this would be a minus.

Review 123:Once of the best possible locations, directly across from public access to the beach. Central to just about anything you wanted to do, whether beach or going into St. Augustine. Quiet at the time of year I went. Lots of hot water in the bathroom and the water pressure was great. Free breakfast. It was on the light side but the fact that you got it at all at a beach hotel was a plus. Room was a nice size. The sitting area was adequate even with two double beds.

Review 124:They could do with a better variety on the breakfast in the morning.

Review 125:We have stayed there several times in the past years and like the rooms for the price.

Review 126:Rooms smelled musty. One room in our party comforter was dirty. One rooms bathroom was dirty. Continental breakfast was shabby. Upon check-in our credit card was ran twice by accident. Called the hotel to discuss the issue with the manager, he told me that I was WRONG, that it was only processed twice. WRONG! Had to call AGAIN, to express the mistake and finally got the young lady who checked us in who explained she accidentally charged our card for two rooms. They could either get in touch with the other part and have them send their information to have the charge placed on their card or we could get the money back from them. Since it was explained it could take upto 10 days for the charge to get reversed, and we are close friends with the couple we took option B. Thinking back, I spent a great deal of time resolving an issue I didn't create and didn't get compensated for my efforts. This hotel should be VERY thankful their frontdesk woman was apologetic instead of condescending! Offered to put us up at the hotel again at lowest price, that won't happen! We won't stay again!

Review 127:Front Desk Lady was AMAZING!!! Close to the pier. Restaurant within walking distance.

Review 128:Found this place by chance last spring. Booked immediately when we decided to go back through the area. Excellent value. Light weight down (maybe down alternative?) comforter. Premium bedding, quiet, very close to attractions and right across from a beautiful beach.

Review 129:The pool is not heated. We were there in October and were not able to use the indoor pool. It was cooler than the ocean water. I knew that there were not aloa lot if perks at this location and if you are looking for 5-star this is not it. Just a great beach motel.

Review 130:I have stayed in this location for years. The location is across the street from the beach and park. The children love playing in the community water park and being right on the beach. The hotel staff is helpful and friendly.

Review 131:Our card was charged twice once at check-in and again at check-out! I've never experienced this at any other place I've ever stayed and I travel monthly on business!

Review 132:They young lady at the front desk was wonderful! She was professional and extremely helpful! She took the time to address issues others in our travel party had!

Review 133:The breakfast was fair. Pastries, juice, coffee and cold cereal. Only stopped in once.

Review 134:Room was clean and mostly updated. The parking was close to rooms. Great location. Great value for the money. Would stay there again if in area.
