Reviews for Cozy Corner Motel

Review 1:My son and I were visiting family in Williamstown with my dog. Accommodations and price at Cozy Corner fit our budget and we were satisfied with our stay. The room was quiet and staff congenial. It was an added plus to have the restaurant out front! We will stay at Cozy Corner again when we visit.

Review 2:The facility was about 40 years old or even older. The attached pictures explain, why the doors wouldn't close properly and there was a draft. The bathroom was newly painted, but the paint was already starting to fall from the ceiling. When we entered the room there was a strong scent of air freshener, you could almost taste it on your tongue. At our complaint we got a new room in which no room freshener was used. Here the smell was mouldy and fusty. The scent was so strong that it lingered in our clothes the next morning. The price-performance ratio was in no way proper ($149.- per night). So it is a mystery to me how such a massive overrating could be possible on some platforms.

Review 3:Everthing necessary was in place, the beds, towles, the living room and the bathroom were clean.

Review 4:Did not like no one available when we checked out,,,left key in key drop.I like to receive our final bill at checkout to see final charges, ,,we left at 7 AM,,,breakfast was to be served at 8 AM was sure someone would have been at front desk,,,we rang bell 2 times,,,waited about 5 minutes,,,

Review 5:Everything was fine,,

Review 6:Very friendly owners and very helpful. I lost my phone charger and they offered their own charger for the night. Room was very clean. Will definitely go back.

Review 7:The location was excellent. There was a restaurant immediately in front of the motel with a perfect and reasonably priced menu. The staff were so helpful, kind and considerate. We had an excellent evening and tried to book a second night!

Review 8:The room was comfortable and clean; the location was convenient to Williamstown, North Adams, and southern Vermont; and the staff was friendly and helpful. We particularly appreciated the wifi and AC (it was a hot weekend).

Review 9:Very comfortable bed. Patio with Adirondack chairs overlooking babbling brook. Helpful and friendly office staff. Family-owned and operated, so they really care that guests are happy. Clean bathroom, clean room. Good-size shower stall. Breakfast included cereal, toast, muffins, waffles, fresh fruit, coffee, juice. Would definitely go back.

Review 10:The only down side to the room was that there was not enough light for reading in bed. In the room with 2 double beds there was no night light between the beds.

Review 11:This is a very clean, pretty comfortable motel in a good location. The staff is friendly. This is not a fancy place but considering what you get, it's an excellent value.

Review 12:Maid service over four days was not good The only thing they did consistently over four days was shut off the AC so when we entered every late afternoon the place was hot. Failed to replace damp/dirty towels on two days and did a poor job of cleaning bathroom. Never noticed or replaced Kleenex box. We even left empty one on the sink. Small refrigerator was extremely noisy

Review 13:Location is good for Williamstown. Fairly well maintained

Review 14:Waken up in the wee hours by the 2 big dogs howling in the next room. People stomping around overhead at all hours of the night. Not very good place to get a quiet nights sleep. People left me almost no room to park.

Review 15:Friendliness of the staff

Review 16:Outdated, dingy and dirty. Shower door broken. Ripped carpet. Flies in room. Beds very uncomfortable. Breakfast area unclean. Camping would have been a better option than sstaying here.

Review 17:The only positive thing was location.

Review 18:The booking.com announcement was irritating - we booked two rooms with 4 beds despite we gave in 1 room for 3 persons, booking always suggested two rooms. when we arrived we found out that we just needed one space.

Review 19:The view of the mountains was awesome! We were on the second floor and sat out on the balcony relaxing! The room was really clean. It was a short drive to town, museums and hiking. It was good value for the money. The breakfast was bagels/muffins, make your own Belgian waffles, coffee/tee and juice. The Clark Museum is worth seeing.

Review 20:room deodorizer smelled terrible some lamps didn't work a little dingy. Needs a paint job

Review 21:least expensive in the area breakfast included restaurant next door had good food not far from Williamstown attractions but too far to walk (approx 2 miles to theater)

Review 22:The air conditioner was broken and they refused to fix it (it needed control knobs that could have easily been purchased). Their cleaning, especially of the bathroom, was spotty at best. They did not replace the barely minimal supplies like shampoo, nor clean the toilet

Review 23:The location is beautiful, next to a lovely stream and overlooking hills. The price is competitive.

Review 24:The decor was very dated. Several colors of poor tile repair in the shower. The smell of cheap citrus air freshener about knocked you over when coming into the room.

Review 25:It was by a stream. You could sleep to the sound of the water rushing over the rocks. Quiet spot near town.

Review 26:Would like yogurt and fruit for breakfast and diet soda in vending machine.

Review 27:Staff, quiet, steam and picnic area, breakfast cafe in walking distance, several television channels.

Review 28:The breakfast area was uncomfortably hot. There's no way I would be able to sit there very long.

Review 29:My room was very clean and comfortable. The grounds are well kept. The staff was very well prepared both checking in and out. Very friendly as well. Will be returning!

Review 30:I have no complaints. I enjoyed my stay at this motel.

Review 31:The motel was located within a very short driving distance of a lot of the local attractions, including the newly-reopened Clark Museum. The staff was very accommodating, answering an email question and phone call prior to our arrival very promptly and courteously. They also made arrangements for our very late arrival, which was above and beyond for a family-run motel like this. The property itself is two stories tall, with the entrances to each room outside. To get to the second floor, visitors must use the staircase inside the main office. This creates added security for the second floor visitors, although we never felt unsafe at any time. There is no elevator on the property though, so keep in mind that if you get a second floor room you will need to carry your bags up the stairs. The room itself was clean and spacious, with housekeeping cleaning up each morning. This is no five-star hotel, but for the price, it was a great value. The bed was comfortable and the room had a refrigerator and microwave that worked well. The bathroom was clean, but the mirror over the sink was so high that neither I or my traveling companion could see into it (we're both 5 feet tall). That's really my only complaint though, and taller people likely will not run into the same problem. The motel offers free continental breakfast each morning, including waffles, pastries, breads and fresh fruits. Although we ate out for breakfast each day, we did check out the free breakfast offerings and saw that there was plenty to eat and a cozy coffee area to eat it in. There's also a neat little patio area just outside the motel parking lot that sits near a creek. It was a nice surprise to be able to sit there and relax. I would recommend this motel to others, and if I returned to the area I would stay there again.

Review 32:- Dead bugs in the windows - Cigarette butt hole in my blanket - No shampoo

Review 33:Location was decent (near stream, 2 miles from Williamstown) Easy in and out Reasonably clean

Review 34:For a quick place to stay at a very affordable price..This was great!!

Review 35:not really

Review 36:Stuff's smile and nice cost

Review 37:I believe the price is excessive and gouging for Fall weekends is objectionable.

Review 38:The people in the office were respectful and helpful.

Review 39:cozy place, good breakfast

Review 40:Lovely place for the view .The couple who run the Motel were very nice

Review 41:Convenient, friendly price effective and great food at nearby restaurant

Review 47:No pool. Patio area could use updates.

Review 48:Very clean rooms. Quiet. Location.

Review 49:Great location, clean, friendly and helpful staff. A very good deal for the low cost.

Review 50:Owners extremely accommodating and went out of their way to help. An excellent hotel in the value motel category.

Review 51:Perfect for location to williamstown. Owners very friendly room was clean and mini fridge a plus for my white wine.

Review 52:Although right on major road, there was a peaceful outdoor spot (with tables, Adirondack chairs, and grill) right next to a bubbling brook.

Review 53:walking distance to excellent restaurant!

Review 54:Cute little place on the edge of town. Works great for a weekend getaway.

Review 55:Drinking wine by the brook is always a high point.

Review 56:Staff were very friendly. Great place to stay for the price.

Review 57:Nice location, nature, fresh air, staff was super friendly, great restaurant nearby

Review 58:Smell of paint in the room

Review 59:Good price

Review 60:Cramped dining area. Not a great location

Review 61:Price compared to other local options.

Review 62:Every thing in good working order and very clean and neat.

Review 63:Walls to thin could hear people talking, breakfast items were lacking In quality and cleanliness. Whole place needs updating.

Review 64:Location , wi-fi, views.

Review 65:Clean room for old motel

Review 66:But I sure thought I might. Location and babbling brook outside are charming. The restaurant is solid.Beds and bedding were atrocious.

Review 67:Difficult to get deadbolt closed. Inconsistent water temp and pressure in shower.

Review 68:Very clean. Good WiFi. Comfortable. Quiet. Good location.

Review 69:Wi-fi was a slow.

Review 70:Good value close to many Berkshire attractions.

Review 71:Very dirty place, electricity very danger, really really bad.

Review 72:Nothing at all!

Review 73:Carpeting was old and dirty

Review 74:Room was drab and smelled of cleaning products. The place is clean but very run down.

Review 75:Bed was comfortable.

Review 76:Terrible old bed, bed sheets, old pillows, carpet, very small bathroom and a sink from the 60s.

Review 77:Location, wifi and air conditioning.

Review 78:Mold in shower, no buttons on A/C

Review 79:Price, owners very helpful and accommodating, patio by the creek

Review 80:Bed was way too hard - good feel the springs inside the mattress.

Review 81:Very close to the Williamstown theater

Review 82:Motel charged credit cards prior to our arrival. Breakfast compared to other comparable motels was poor and needs upgrading. Lacks amenities offered by competing motels in the area. Would not return.

Review 83:The staff was courteous.

Review 84:Great location. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The grassy back yard was playful and clean. We ate outside, then sat to read and talk, while the kids ran and entertain themselves.

Review 85:Terrible, overpowering odor of cleaning products to which I am allergic. Public places should use only unscented products. Had to air out the room for hours in order to sleep there.

Review 86:Staff was friendly; location is great.

Review 87:No staff was there when we arrived. Waited 3 hours, and never saw any staff around. There was a laminated sign in the lobby that stated that they were sorry for a wait, but they would be gone for 15 minutes (which was really strange). We just did not feel safe, especially with another room in the motel with the door wide open and the "lovely" plywood balcony. The staff left several keys out to rooms on the counter, and we grabbed the one that had our name attached to go check out the room. The heat was on full and the thermostat only went up to 80 degrees, but it felt more like 90-95. Just a horrible experience. We turned around and drove all the way back home--3.5 hours during a rain storm that took us through some pretty treacherous terrain. Just a really scary experience! Such a shame, great price (which I should have been suspicious of), and a great view of a little river on the property. I am not sure if there is anything nice to say...

Review 88:Good price, but beware....

Review 89:Hotel is just minutes outside of Williamstown.. .. Room was comfortable and clean. Wifi worked very well. Basically I have no complaints about the room or the facilities... As noted by others the Cozy Corner restaurant is a short walk from the hotel and offers a nice menu. At the hotel the morning breakfast was a selection of juices, coffee, hot/cold cereal, fresh waffles - c'est pas mal. The price/performance ratio was excellent.

Review 90:A bit awkward getting up stairs to 2nd floor with suitcase. There were no outside stairs. The deadbolt in room didn't work, the door didn't seem to close enough for it to bolt. But I did feel safe there. The carpentry repairs in the room were unskilled, holes left in the wall where lamps had been replaced, mismatch tile repairs in the bathroom. But at $26 a night it's clean and safe!

Review 91:You couldn't beat the price! The room was very clean and it was quiet for sleeping. Nice little fridge and coffee maker. Very warm on a very cold night.

Review 92:1st of all, thank you for letting me check in a little early. The positives were that the rug seemed clean and the toilet and sink were clean. I wanted to make you aware that your hotel is not worth the 72 dollars a night and was falsely advertised. You put me in a room right above the office and by the stairs. All morning I heard a whole lot of noise coming up and down stairs and banging down stairs. 2. someone walked into my room to clean at 9:00 in morning. Check out is 11. i could have been not dressed. I promptly left after and did not feel comfortable or safe being there. 3. There was a yellow spot on the bed spread 4. The sheets had black marks and the pillow case had something yellow on it, maybe like it was burned along with black marks. 5. The showers had grout or something dirty all along the bottom. 6. The price was advertised as 111.00 for 2 nights. I understand taxes, but $33 was really too much for such a untidy motel. 7. The pictures look like the hotel is in nature, but it is on a main road with houses all around.

Review 93:Thank you for letting me check in a little early. The positives were that the rug seemed clean and the toilet and sink were clean.

Review 94:The bathroom and shower door did not close. The ceiling tiles were attached only with tape, a danger hazard. Also the clock radio did not work, should have been replaced or removed totally. Main door always sticking, at times unable to open. Road unplowed so had to climb through the snow to get to the door.

Review 95:The room was clean with nice soft comfortable bed and bedding. Basic but comfortable. Pleasant owners who were willing to help at any time if needed. Economical place to stay for a short time or if just passing through Williamstown. Would recommend to others and would consider staying here again.

Review 96:It was a small little motel. In the morning smell of spices was floatingin from the windows. Breakfast was again sad! Apples were actually bad.No bread, No mixture in waffle maker and bagles were good enough tobreak a head! Good just to crash and move on but good value for moneythough. Can't complain about that.

Review 97:Just stayed one night to break the long drive and got a good deal forthe room. The cleanliness was just ok. The bathroom was tidy. Key wasleft out at night for us to check in. Barely saw the staff even inmorning. Just while checking out.

Review 98:Air conditioner did not work properly and there was very poor air circulation in the room as a result. My husband tried to read outside of the room, but there were several people talking & smoking so he had to come inside. Very few options at breakfast; the waffle maker was broken. With added taxes our cost for the room came to $100; this place was not worth it!

Review 99:Not much

Review 100:The Cozy Corner was a convenient place to stay while visiting Willamstown/North Adams area. The price is fair for a clean and quiet room. Good for people who look for budget friendly motel.

Review 101:Extremely poor breakfast. No heater adjustment (we had to turn the air conditioning on). The shower randomly alternated between hot and cold water.

Review 102:Location and cleanliness; our room was large (two queen beds) and well-equipped.

Review 103:Breakfast - orange juice was some kind of watered down drink, coffee was tasteless.

Review 104:Location - was easy to find. Fabulous fish and chips in cafe just across the car park.

Review 105:Door key and knob was hard to operate as the door jamb had been extended beyond a normal hand size. Complimentary continental breakfast was very basic. Better to bring your own and put it in mini fridge if possible. No coffee makers.

Review 106:Quiet, comfortable, economical and close to Williams College and other cultural places such as Clark Art Museum. Front desk /owner?/clerk was friendly and helpful.

Review 107:Facility is a dissaster. The motel is long worn out and filled with low quality cheap supplies. The towl has strange flakes and the carpet tears off!

Review 108:Nothing

Review 109:The room was plain and unattractive. During my shower the watertemperature kept changing on its own. It was just a place to sleep notfor lounging around.

Review 110:The motel is very close to Williams College and the Williamstown TheaterFestival. For the area and the season, the rate was very reasonable.

Review 111:No tub....just a shower corner small stall....yuck!!!! But it was clean. Beds a little uncomfortable.

Review 112:Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean.

Review 113:I've stayed here two years in a row and find it a nice location with friendly owners along with a great value for your money. Beds are very comfortable and the location with a steram nearby is very pleasant, restaurant conveniently located.

Review 114:For what I wanted to pay couldn't have been better. For those whowant luxury this isn't for you, but I didn't want it.

Review 115:A fabulous deal for the $. The woman staff/ownerf person let me useher phone for free because I lost mine. Very quiet. Nice view.Walk togood restaurant. Big room. Relaxing.

Review 116:Absolutely nothing.

Review 117:Everything! Great continental b-fast, super nice staff, and located on a beautiful babbling brook!

Review 118:Waffles for breakfast
