Reviews for Miami International Airport Hotel

Review 1:We had two minor problems. One is the bathroom tub drain is badly clogged so the shower water partly filled the tub. The other problem was that the wake-up call we requested did not come. Luckily, we woke up in good time by ourselves.

Review 2:The location is excellent for staying over between airplane flights. The room was cool and quiet with comfortable beds.

Review 3:I´ve stayed no more than 15 or 30 minutes because the way we were treated was terrible and the bedroom was absolutely dirty. we imediatly moved to Resort sps south beach through booking but we were charged full stay for 15 minutes , they didn´t tell their names and they did not accept we were checking ou,.. this is my third complain . next one will be directly to muy lawyer

Review 4:nada

Review 5:The shower was scolding and turning it down meant there was no water pressure. I was offered a quiet room as travelling for business but there were families on the floor and my room was by the lift. The hotel restaurant was much better when it was inside upstairs, as the food choices and standard / price were not great. My room was also very expensive for what it was and didn't include breakfast. When I looked at the same room from a different IP address in a different part of the world it was much cheaper which was extremely irritating.

Review 6:The fact it is in the hotel is great for the tire traveller.

Review 7:Shower splurges of hot, then cold water. Drain didn't work. Ironing board and iron hanging on the wall right next to bed. No closet,no luggage rack, only decaf coffee. I asked to see the room before paying, then they put me in a different room

Review 8:There was no caffeinated coffee, not good for a 4:30 flight. The bellman tried to put the heavy bag on the ground and the light one on the carrier after being asked to do the reverse.

Review 9:Location

Review 10:The room was very old and in desperate need of modernisation. Deco very dated & need updating. Felt old and dirty.

Review 11:Location is perfect after a long flight, as all you need is to walk through departure gate to your hotel.

Review 12:The view out of the window was of aircon pipework and brick walls, but we only stopped overnight so that wasn't a problem.

Review 13:As airport hotels go it did the the job. Rooms are a bit dated but good enough

Review 14:Not well insulated room to room. Can hear neighbors talking. Hallways were musty. Would love to have a mirror in main room that is near an outlet (or vice versa) so hair dryer, curler can be used there while other person is in the bathroom.

Review 15:Comfortable bed! Love the old photos of early planes, airlines, etc that lined the hallway on 4th floor. Very efficient check-in, check-out.

Review 16:Tiny rooms, outdated & lots of noise from the hallways. Far too expensive for what you get in return. better to go to Doral.

Review 17:Easy location at the airport

Review 18:Choice of restaurants was abyssmal. And without a car, we were doomed toabyssmal dining. No security whatsoever. Anybody---total strangers, terrorists, you name it---can walk on to elevator. Unbelievable. No Safe in the Room. Unbelievable. TV did not work properlly. Walls paper thin.. Mattress uncomfortable. Price way out of proportion to value. The view wasover industrial rooftops with lots of pipes & mechanicals being the highlight. Hotel has never been renovated and shows it.

Review 19:Conevenience to airport gates

Review 20:Bellman tried to get out of work and still get a tip. They tried to round the price up. There was only decaf coffee, not something I wanted to learn at 4:00 in the morning.

Review 21:I sent some prerequests through booking.com but no one had apparently even read them in the hotel

Review 22:Location within airport terminals is excellent, possibility to have a good breakfast nearby.

Review 23:I've stayed here for over 20 years, primarily during layovers and transit through Miami to other destinations. I've reviewed it before and given high marks. Well, things have changed. Despite the glitzy glass and chrome makeover of the lobby, the cosmetology stops right there. The rooftop spa, pool and gym are gone. Signs still indicate a restaurant is there, however when you get to it's 7th floor location, you are confronted by a huge, locked steel door. Both amenities offered an extremely welcome respite from the chaos and general mayhem of the airport itself, the 2nd largest by passenger volume in the USA. Unfortunately, the rooms lack even slight improvements (ie paint, lighting carpets, thorough cleaning, etc.). They are clearly aging and marginally acceptable. I have overlooked this aspect of the hotel in the recent past because of the other outstanding features, the loss of which is a game changer in my opinion.

Review 24:Exceptionally convenient location.

Review 25:Most International hotels are well cared for and are well decorated But this one seems to be lost in a time transit Lacking in money to bring it in line with what you would expect when you arrive in a major city like Miami. Trying to get in to the room was a task on its own Had to put your shoulder into it it was so difficult to open even when the key card light was green. The security latch was so frail and loose on the back of the door, we turned the door latch and that was ok. The soap was stuck to the bathroom sink like it had never been changed from the last guest. But the bed was very comfortable and the linen was spotless.

Review 26:The location was right on not far to get there after your flight

Review 27:Staff personnel that works at night are terrible and not customer friendly.

Review 28:Perfect location for one night sleep for an early flight at the Miami Airport.

Review 29:We asked for an early check in and was given the room furthest from the elevator even though the clerk could see we had luggage and were given no help. The wifi was the worse I have ever experienced with it cutting out over 30 times in six hours

Review 30:Right at the airport made traveling early the next morning very convenient.

Review 31:The staff did not help with information on where to park a rental car over night. If that had said to park in the airport parking and close to which concourse, it would have helped out a lot.

Review 32:There are NO signs in the terminal pointing you to where the hotel lobby is located. Really difficult to find, even though it shouldn't be.

Review 33:It's nice that it is in the airport itself

Review 34:Whole facility is a little old and tired. Restaurant was closed for refurbishment during my stay with the only alternatives the "fast food" places in the main concourse. Expensive.

Review 35:Location within the main terminal very convenient. Check-in / Check-out fast and efficient.

Review 36:We couldn't believe how dusty and dirty the little room was. The staff was far from polite or welcoming. Motels have higher lever of comfort and cleanness to them. The housekeeper was sitting in a room talking away on the phone.

Review 37:The only good thing is the location, still not worth it.

Review 38:Room was dirty! Had to pick up at least 4 long hairs that were in the sheets when I open the bed. The toilet was dirty also. I did not call the front desk because I was exhausted after 3 flights overseas and I needed to rest. I opted for sleeping with sweatpants and long sleeve Tshirt. I paid too much for such a nasty place.

Review 39:The only think I liked was the convenience of location for an overnight layover in MIA airport

Review 40:It is annoying to choose a hotel which says it has free wifi when it doesn't, even when I asked for assistance at reception. I just got a screen which said "Please wait". I waited an hour!

Review 41:nothing

Review 42:Perfect Hotel to stay, when you have a late arrival or early departure.Right in the American Terminal,a few Steps to the Check-Inn.Newly renovated Rooms, and Bathrooms with many Amenities.Good Bed,and quiet.Restaurant permanently closed for Renovation.Breakfast is served on Lobby Level.Would stay again.

Review 43:The rooms are old and not very nice. The hairdryers look like there from 1950 and didn't work with no extras. For the cost of the room it was a HUGE dissapointment. Cost at eating places available were ridiculous. Over 140 dollars for dinner and drinks at basically a food court style restaurant.

Review 44:Convenience of location within airport.

Review 45:The staff were anything but helpful; too busy talking amongst themselves to be courteous. They advertise that the hotel was quiet, but it was far from quiet; noise from other guests in the hallway all through the night and once planes began taking off. If not for the convenience, might not choose this airport.

Review 46:Hotel was definitely convenient after a long international flight. Rooms were small, but perfectly adequate to shower and sleep before the next leg of the journey.

Review 47:I would say this hotel is basic and no luxuries. For instance, a bottle of water. And the air conditioners are antiquated and hard to adjust also made a terrible humming noise all night long.

Review 48:It is the best location for getting a day flight back to my home in Sao Paulo. It means I can wake up and check in in minutes. But it is a bit pricey for what you get.

Review 49:the room was clean but the coffee maker was not. The view was awful:(

Review 50:We caught up at the hotel as we flew from different country. So the location was perfect! And I could check in before the time and had rest!

Review 51:The airport went into lockdown while I was out doing business. I could not return until late that evening and it was a mad house. No room service available, the room was awful and no service.

Review 52:The proximity of the hotel being in the airport.

Review 53:Fire alarm activated on floor it was a false alarm but we were not informed in any way. The alarms work which was good but no staff came to let us know, nor were there any announcements.

Review 54:Location, comfort

Review 55:The hot water did not work and there was no way to get a meal or drink after 11pm. Even when I called room service at 11:02 pm hungry after a long flight.

Review 56:We needed to stay here for a very early international flight so it was convenient to be able to to stay at the airport.

Review 57:Rooms were small Had to dine in terminal

Review 58:The location was brilliant for us on this ocassion, rooms were small, restaurant/bar advertised on website and on arrival was closed and had to dine in terminal

Review 59:The rim of the toilet was splattered with dry urine, the room was small, almost claustrophobic, the A/C was very crude control (1960s thermostat)

Review 60:The location inside the terminal is the ultimate convenience

Review 61:Rooms a little tired looking and although sound proofing windows, the noise from the corridor was a pain. Perhaps more sound proofing on the main door. A safe would be good.

Review 62:Convenience of being at the airport, very easy and quick check-in and out with friendly staff.

Review 63:The girl that did my chekin and when i book i had my book done in 2 beds bedroom ,when i got there they gave me a bedroom with one bed.

Review 64:The staf when i did the chekin they were laugh and i really didnt know if was something related to me,the girl was kind a rude.

Review 65:The rooms need modernising and although they were clean, they were tired and worn in places. The shower did not stay on a constant temperature..one second it was freezing and the next it was burning hot and it was difficult to maintain a good temperature. The cocktail bar was also closed which we were looking forward to visiting.

Review 66:Good location, 5 minute walk to check in.

Review 67:The guy that was to assist w luggage was lazy. We were traveling to Cuba on a mission trip and had 17 bags. No help. Did everything myself.

Review 68:Overall excellent. We have stayed previously.

Review 69:Old carpets. TOILETS NOT WORKING!!!! Asked to use toilets of the airpor, outside the hotel. Called to speak to manager to ask for rebate or refund. He did not want to speak with me. Asked employee to reply me that they could not refund or rebate. The problem was the city of Miami and was being worked on.

Review 70:Location, but this time it did NOT outweigh all the other problems this hotel has,

Review 71:Staff was bland at best, but more often somewhat surly. No description of amenities such as the wifi or directions to the room. My room number was announced to the lobby. When I inquired about the "free breakfast" explicitly described on their website I was informed it did not apply to those reserving rooms through Booking.com. Poorly done MIA Hotel! For $200/night you can offer me a bagel and coffee. The deceptive advertising and snide response to my inquiry did not earn a repeat customer.

Review 72:The location could not be more convenient.

Review 73:We didn't like the sterile eerie hallway, no closet, old window blinds, cramped bathroom with a counter that prevented the sink faucet to turn on fully, and limited wayer pressure in the shower.

Review 74:We liked the location, ease of check in and friendly staff.

Review 75:Finding the place within the airport terminal was difficult, even though I've stayed there many times. They should post better, large, visible walking directions within the terminal building.

Review 76:Location, convenience., friendly staff including in the restaurant. I've stayed there many times for those reasons.

Review 77:MMaybe i had badluck but my room wasn't jet restyled as the frontdesk & sitarea do suspect so fresjly styled was not my room but i was tired & needed a bed bath & stop for my luggage first...

Review 78:Right at the airport next to the gaters if you cant go on wit your luggage its very convenient right at the airport... no more taxi bus or shuttle to go on/in

Review 79:Room was very small with no external windows and TV reception was very poor. Room was 'tired' and needed a lick of paint.

Review 80:Very handy being within the airport

Review 81:Room is very small. A lot of light came in around the door. There were lots of neighbor noises.

Review 82:The location is everything. No shuttle, just straight to bed.

Review 83:Arriving late at nigh, the hotel was difficult to find. Even when you stumble across reception, it is not clear what it is - complicated by the fact that it was deserted because the only employee was outside smoking. The restaurant is 'closed for renovation' with no sign of any work going on.

Review 84:The only thing going for this place is the convenience.

Review 85:there was no outside sitting or bar area which would have been nice as we arrived at midday and left at midday. and could not leave the airport so we just walked around inside.

Review 86:it was right in the airport and was very handy for check in.

Review 87:We had a layover and didn't want to venture far from the airport nor did we want to mess with shuttles to the airport. Was perfect to walk off our flight and within a few minutes check into our room! Was worried because of the construction going on and reviews I had read but room was quiet and we slept soundly

Review 88:Queuing to get out of the airport WA a joke with hundreds of passengers queued up at the exit. Also we were staying at the airport hotel overnight. There were no signs to the hotel and the staff we asked had no idea where it was! A totally stressed arrival to the USA

Review 89:The breakfast wasn't very good and I had the fruit plate!

Review 90:We arrived after midnight and had a flight the next morning at 10, and the front desk upgraded us for free. Room was comfortable, clean, but not large.

Review 91:The fact that 15- 20 mins after you've paid at the front desk for your room it's not activated for entry in one case and in another a cleaner has assess on 2 occasions to your room. Let us know where you get your trustworthy cleaners please!!!!

Review 92:Your location for overnight stay.

Review 93:Room didn't have a tv remote. Nobody answer the phone to ask for it (front desk, housekeeping, mantainance, operator). Went to the front desk to ask for it, was told they would send it to my room. Never did. The hotel does not keep your luggage for the day, you have to go elsewhere in the airport and pay for it..... and that should be part of the convenience of staying right at the airport when one person needs to take another flight the day after arrival to miami

Review 94:It is located in the airport

Review 95:WiFi was not working. The only one available, the general Airport WiFI was paid. No safety box. Personnel were not specially kind nor useful.

Review 96:Good location for a short stopover in Miami.

Review 97:Breakfast was not included. Staff in restaurant were not helpful , very rude, had to get our own cutlery, then when it came to paying bill stood over us waiting for a tip. The cost of the poor breakfast was very high. 1boek of cornflakes was over $7 with tax!!!!!!

Review 98:Room was fine

Review 99:Problems: phone didn't work. I requested a w/u call; no one called (prob b/c phone didn't work). Tub stopped up; torn shade. Windows overlook airport structures--totally expected: ok for 1 night;

Review 100:Excellent location for early a.m. flight departures. The front desk receptionist was warm and welcoming. I told f/desk that I had read terrible reviews of the hotel--she placed me in a "renovated" room. A bit of a stretch but, relatively nice. Comfy bed...No problem.

Review 101:No wifi. Old run down rooms and carpets. Walked into the restautant at night and did not like the look of it,coincidentally at same time a lady had a problem with something in her food. I turned around and left.

Review 102:Location, arrived from abroad late night and had a connecting flight early morning

Review 103:They've reconfigured the lobby since my last stay so it's now more open - it looks better but that accessibility means people can get on the elevators directly from the airport without passing any hotel personnel, which I think is a safety concern.

Review 104:If you have to stay overnight in Miami just to connect with an international flight, this is the perfect hotel because it's right at gate E, so no shuttles or time concerns. You can, as I did, go check-in and then go back to the room to finish getting ready before heading to the gate - a real time saver. Rooms are a little small, but pretty nice for the price and amazingly quiet given the location.

Review 105:no parking, it would have been more convenient if they had a valet so we could check in and then return the car to rental.

Review 106:we had early flights so being at the airport was just perfect.

Review 107:The restautant is undergoing a total facelift at the moment, which meant that the normal service was somewhat limited. I look forward to seeing it after renovation. Dinner was fine and my meal arrived promptly. Minor room glitches were: T.V did not work, problem with airconditioning, and telephone service, but these were corrected promptly by the attentive Front Office.

Review 108:Hotel lobby is inside Miami Airport. Could not be more conveniently located. Rooms and bathrooms were spotless, with more than enough towels.

Review 109:Staff was not friendly; nonetheless, they did their job

Review 110:The location is excellent for transit travellers. My plane was delayed and arrived at 1am and my reservation remained active.

Review 111:Check-in was not available when I arrived at 01.30 am. The Security (?) man had to go and find her - she was somewhere in the terminal and, when she eventually turned up her demeanour was less than welcoming.

Review 112:Convenient location for early morning flight

Review 113:Bathroom in room was dirty, dried yellow urine all down side of toilet . Towels paper thin. Walls very thin ... Next room tv on all night.

Review 114:Location and staff very helpful.

Review 115:POOR BREAKFAST SERVICE AND FACILITY, POOR WiFi, NO PHONE CHARGING IN BEDROOM, NO MOVIE SELECTION

Review 116:GOOD FRONT DESK SERVICE & GOOD CLEANING ROOM SERVICE, IT IS IN THE BEST AIRPORT LOCATION

Review 117:Horrible pillows. The windows were extremely old and blocked any view. It needs a total visual facelift. There were no condiments for the coffee or tea. Poor noise control as you could hear the next room, people in the hall and the people upstairs too clearly.

Review 118:The location

Review 119:There was no crib in room as requested, there was a pole in the far endof the room there was nothing but a cement wall when we opened thecurtains. I call to request someone to come help me with my many bagsfrom the baggage terminal but was transfered to many different personsand then was told the bell captain could not leave the hotel. Hadproblems understand the staff as they did not speak very good englishand after all I am in an english speaking country where english shouldbe the first language.

Review 120:Location to Cayman Airway Ticketing counter prompt service from bellcaptain coming to get out luggage at check out. Very nice man..

Review 121:The convenient location if you have to overnight and take early morning flights. The bed was extreamly comfortable. The room was very clean and cozy.

Review 122:The bed was a little to hard. We are not people who go out at night so we had several hours before sleep and there wasn't much to watch on the TV.

Review 123:It was in the airport witch made it easy to get to our flight.

Review 124:Location can't be beat if you have an overnight layover. Some of the rooms are slightly threadbare but clean and good enough for an one night stay. Very quiet especially for being located in an airport.

Review 125:Noisy both in the hall, and we had someone in room next to us talking on her phone through the night and we could here both sides of the conversation through the door that connects the room, we never slept!

Review 126:The breakfast is very expensive and it is not include.

Review 127:The bedrooms are very clean and confortable. The hotel is very close to the international terminal. The price for one night is ok.

Review 128:For water you have to go ,to buy from airport and food court and internet not very good, was poor.

Review 129:For me time is very important, I reach at airport very fast:)

Review 130:I usually stay there 3-4 times/year to "catch my breath" in route between my town in South America and northern California. The hotel has badly needed revamping in a while, this time I stayed in a room that looked much better than the three last ones. I didn't have a chance to ask if the rooms are being updated.

Review 131:The pristine white sheets, very comfortable bed and great reading armchair. I also cheered over the news that the Viena restaurant chain is getting ready to replace the old and somewhat gloomy restaurant on the 7th floor.

Review 132:The fact that my daughter phones me and given I am an elderly person anddidn't pick up the phone she worried. She spoke to a member ofreception staff who told her I'd have to wait for the securityperson to return. All the meanwhile I could have been in trouble and dueto a lack of sense of urgency on this me ever of staff, the consequencescould have been disastrous. Thankfully I was ok later one of them cameover to speak to me at breakfast and said my daughter had called me butwhen she called me back, the rest of the team didn't seem to knowanything about me. Also, the website asked for the name of the guest andwhen my daughter called me the reception lady told her I was not checkedin at that hotel and that I would have to speak to the airport to seewhere they had taken me. Later to find out that despite providing thename of the guest when booking (my name) the reservation was left underthe name of my daughter who made the booking. What was the point inasking for the guest's details!? Above all, when I finally calledreception to check out and obtain help with my luggage, it took themaround it over 30 minutes to send someone. Frustrating if you are anelderly with an injury and cannot carry heavy weight. Most disappointedabout this. I felt quite helpless. It is not fair...I Should be treatedlike any other guest...I Doubt they all experience this. (?)

Review 133:I like that the staff were polite and welcoming. The location is perfectwhen you are in a short overnight transit. It's clean and staff wellpresented.

Review 134:Reception Staff were pleasant, cleaning staff were helpful but they don't have much to work with. It is a grubby place. The carpets in and out of the rooms are worn and look dirty - past hope on any deep cleaning. It has a bad feel and even for a narrow layover it may be worth the hassle of leaving the airport to sleep somewhere that feels like more care and attention has gone into its upkeep by their management.

Review 135:It was in the airport. That's it.

Review 136:The room could've used some sprucing up (scrubbing, dusting, a fresh coat of paint) and better lighting.

Review 137:Convenient location for an overnight stay waiting for a re-booked flight. Bathroom was equipped with a generous amount of towels and toiletries. Check-in and check-out took less than 5 minutes.

Review 138:Place is starting to look a little scruffy Not easy to find. From baggage reclaim Computer centre not one machine working and printer empty

Review 139:Excellent staff

Review 140:they bill me in cash, I'd like to charge To credit card that I used to book, but front staff won't to do that and I should to pay in cash.

Review 141:Location was perfect
