Reviews for Hotel Lucia, a Provenance Hotel

Review 1:Fabulous location downtown- close to everything including the Tri-Met. Beautiful hotel with modern and classic details. Very warm and helpful staff.

Review 2:Can't think of anything negative to say. Honestly.

Review 3:We loved everything! The location, facilities, the artwork, the comfy bed, lovely staff and the restaurant and bar downstairs were awesome. This is the perfect hotel for a girls trip.

Review 4:The room was the smallest I've been in outside of Paris. And the bathroom would be unworkable for someone who is overweight. There was no counter space for toiletries and the sink bowl was the size of airplane bathroom sinks.

Review 5:We loved the staff and the ambience of the lobby areas, especially the excellent contemporary art. The free NY Times was a nice touch. And the fitness room was quite serviceable.

Review 6:Great location, just two blocks away from a Trimet Red line, making the trip to the airport a breeze even if you have some luggage. Hotel is in the middle of Downtown, so after a night to the bar, it's easy to get back to the hotel. Hotel's elevators require your key card, for added safety. My room had 50+ tv channels. It was on the 7th floor, facing the streets, yet it was always quiet in my room. Fast, free wifi was available in my room.

Review 7:Found empty bottle in my room. Apparently from last guest so which means bedroom was not cleaned properly?

Review 8:The lobby is beautifully decorated and it is connected to a awesome resturant

Review 9:Shower pressure could be stronger and shower head placed a little higher.

Review 10:We loved staying at Hotel Lucia. The bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, the room was well designed (large walk-in closet a bonus) and we were fans of their pillow menu too. Enjoyed drinks and snacks at the Imperial Bar along with the easy walk to many of Portland's dining, shopping and nightlife options.

Review 11:The bathrooms had very noisy toilets you could here them flushing all over the hotel all night. Room 206 was very noisy both nights with garbage collection from 3.00 am for hours.

Review 12:The location was great

Review 13:There was a prounounced mildew smell in the room and the room was not well-cleaned. Although we were in an upgraded King Room at the end of the hall, noise and voices from the hallway and other rooms were clearly audible in our room. The door opened directly into the room allowing zero privacy. Decor and furnishings were generally worn and outdated, giving the room a depressing feel. The "free" internet allowed for only 15 minutes of use, after which there was a hotel charge to continue.

Review 14:The hotel is centrally located in downtown Portland. The bed was comfortable.

Review 15:Cleaner than most hotels, but I notice things. There was dust all over the ice bucket and wine opener and behind the lamp on bedside table. Also the shower wall didn't appear like it had been wiped down. Also, I like having slippers provided in case the floors aren't well vaccumed. Needs a lit magnifying mirror in the restroom.

Review 16:Decor is nice. Bed linens were clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. My 12 year old loved the clock radio. The bathroom was roomy. Bathrobe was soft. Room service was prompt. Food was good. Not a huge selection but covered basics. Location is central.

Review 17:Location in the heart of downtown Portland, walkable to PSU and several breweries. Quirky modern décor. Convenience of across-the-street parking garage.

Review 18:At check in they could not find my reservation. The process was prolonged even though they said they had available rooms. The front desk also did not communicate with the valets. Rooms were a little small.

Review 19:Imperial restaurant and bar was excellent.

Review 20:The shower head was broken and when I told the staff about it, them fixed it while we were out of the room. But, left me a note basically saying they fixed it but if I needed help understanding how to work the shower, they would be happy to come show me how to use it correctly. This was a little insulting as I know how to use a shower. Also, the beds and pillows are a little uncomfortable. They should check out the super comfortable beds at the Holiday Inn Express in Eugene.

Review 21:The staff is very nice and helpful.

Review 22:Small room with a tiny bathroom (we stayed in a Premium King)--more like something we would stay at in Paris or London. Lobby and restaurant under construction--nothing noisy or offensive, but wish we had known.

Review 23:Comfortable bed, well appointed room, excellent location walkable to Pearl District resto's and shopping areas.

Review 24:The room we booked, a standard king, was very small -- smaller than what we've come to expect from standard kings. Since we were staying three more nights, we changed to a suite and the hotel gave us a deal on the upcharge, which was much appreciated.

Review 25:Artistically designed surroundings, comfortable suites, wonderful restaurant associated with hotel. Staff were helpful and amenable to changing our room after our first night.

Review 26:The rates are always steep, but you definitely get what you pay for. This hotel is excellent all-around. I especially enjoy the in-room entertainment. (The newest movies still in theater are always available.) AND I know I can count on excellent room service, even at the latest hour.

Review 27:The decor is amazing! This hotel has always delivered a very classy, comfortable and fun stay. I stay at the Lucia regularly, when I'm in town for business.

Review 28:Great location, comfortable room, big flatscreen, really small bathroom sink and shelf space, loud room ventilation fan. The fan setting may have been 'on' rather than'auto'.

Review 29:Location is excellent. Staff was truly gracious . Public parking right across the street was really convenient . The hotel was clean and the decor was beautiful.

Review 30:We had an issue with our room not being at a comfortable temperature and the employees fixed it immediately. The friendliness of employees of evident throughout our entire stay. Location was perfect for exploring Downtown by foot.

Review 31:The only thing in our room that was left out was a bathroom fan. If you can leave the door cracked the steam from shower will soon disappear

Review 32:The staff was extra helpful. The decor has a rich feel. The art is wonderful. The bed and linens are very comfortable. Located in the middle of everything with access to the streetcar and bus just a block away.

Review 33:Not cheap, but that's what it costs staying downtown.

Review 34:The room was very comfortable. They are smaller rooms, but very nicely renovated. Staff were friendly and helpful. The internet worked well, and the fitness room is solid (though the cardio machines are a bit of a pain to program).

Review 35:Bed was a bit to firm Even though we were on the 5th floor the street noise was loud even to the point of hearing conversation between two people.

Review 36:Nice size room

Review 37:We had a great stay, but didn't use many of the amenities.

Review 38:Rooms and lobby were modern and clean. Location was good, and street parking worked out for us (over a holiday weekend). Check in and out were efficient. We had a handicap room, so fairly spacious, and bathroom was large. Loved the toiletries!

Review 39:Pocket like lobby, no pool and parking $37 per day. Best Motel I would say or 3 star hotel at most.

Review 40:I would say it can be best Motel at most. This place should be no more then 3 stars. Besides bed, pictures and restaurant which is not hotel restaurant nothing was great for me.

Review 41:This hotel was fantastic. Great staff, close to everything and very comfortable. Loved to pillow menu :) We are going back to Portland and this is the only place I would stay.

Review 42:When booking the room it read that there was a daily fee for the use of wifi. Upon check-in they gave me a code for wifi and told me there was no charge. Had i known this i would have traveled with my laptop.

Review 43:The location of the hotel was perfect! Central to all restaurants and shops. Restaurants and public transportation was just steps away. I also like the convenience of the Tri Met being right outside the baggage claim area at the airport. I was able to take the Tri Met right into downtown which dropped me a few blocks from the hotel. Hotel staff was wonderful. When i asked to changed my room so that i could have a view of the downtown streets they were able to accommodate me immediately.

Review 44:Very nice staff, comfy beds, great food at the restaurant, parking garage directly across the street, Pete's Coffee on the corner, beautiful art everywhere!

Review 45:nothing!

Review 46:staff was awesome...so helpful, so accommodating and very personable, central location, easy to walk to everything we wanted to see, close to the trimet for farther attractions, awesome amenities at the hotel...we will be back!

Review 47:No early weekend breakfast or coffee in the lobby that is not room service. Needs more weekend amenities. Hotel restaurant limited at lunch offers. Room had lots of street noise. Hotels answer is earplugs in the drawer.

Review 48:Nice staff, very helpful. Room very clean and comfortable.

Review 49:Really tiny bathroom! Clean and well equipped but barely room to move!

Review 50:Unique - did not feel like a chain hotel. Liked the historic photos on the wall in public areas. Young helpful staff.

Review 51:Only one thing- the bathrooms do not have fans or great ventilation so it can take a while for the mirrors to defog after a shower.

Review 52:Its the second time I've stayed here and even though the visits were years apart, the hotel is consistent- the staff is friendly and goes out of its way to be helpful. ( Even at 3 am!) The rooms, while not large, are nicely appointed and very comfortable. The location just continues to improve and the valet service is fast, and everyone on staff is very knowledgable about the city- they can provide excellent suggestions for dining and entertainment, and spot on driving directions.

Review 53:Only on one occasion did I witness the valet driver having a little to much fun with my car but the situation was quickly handle and never happened again.

Review 54:Everything was great from staff to location. Great sleep, quite and clean everything you need.

Review 55:The cost of the room.....just didn't think there was anything special about my room. The bed was comfortable though.

Review 56:This hotel is at a good location if you enjoy walking around town. There is lots of shopping, as well as good places to eat. The river is only a few blocks away. The Penny Dinner that's connected to the hotel has some good breakfast sandwiches.

Review 57:For this money I expected more comfort. The room was tiny and the bathroom was very cramped. The seating area in the hotel looked classy but the seats were very uncomfortable.

Review 58:Good location

Review 59:Great Staff. Modern Rooms. Very Clean and Inviting Lobby. Free Local Craft Beer served from 5:30-6:30

Review 60:Only negative was the showerhead which wouldn't stay in the high position (I'm tall).

Review 61:The rooms are quite tiny and the restaurant isn't so great.

Review 62:Right smack in the middle of the Pearl District and the staff was fantastic!

Review 63:great location. trendy decor and comfortable rooms, helpful staff

Review 64:The rooms are very small, especially the bathrooms. Not worth the cost per night.

Review 65:The staff was very accommodating.

Review 66:Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 67:Great location, in the heart of SW Portland. Hotel staff was professional, friendly, and always willing to help.

Review 68:excellent service at front desk. very accommodating

Review 69:traffic to airport

Review 70:downtown close to everything

Review 71:For $411 per night, you get a $150 room. Totally overpriced.

Review 72:Very comfortable bed

Review 73:Nothing!!!!

Review 74:Love the staff and all that this hotels has to offer from location to comfort. 10 out of 10 a must stay if in the downtown area

Review 75:They were remodeling the entry but it wasn't a problem.

Review 76:Great room with an awesome view.

Review 77:Location is fantastic and staff are friendly.

Review 78:Price

Review 79:Central position. Close to public transport

Review 80:Well designed, clean and centrally located. Nice and helpful staff.

Review 81:The location was great. Liked being greated as I entered and left the hotel. Staff was very pleasent. The room was clean and comfortable.

Review 82:renovations in the looby cause noise, but this is unavoidable.

Review 83:location, staff were friendly, room comfortable

Review 84:Room was a little small and very dark inside, even with the lights on.

Review 85:Location, Quiet, Clean

Review 86:Bathroom door didn't fully close and there was no fan in the washroom. Let's just say these conditions kinda hurt the romance.

Review 87:Fantastic restaurant

Review 88:Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff.Great restaurant.

Review 89:Not a bad experience, but why this nice hotel allows dogs to stay is puzzling. The dogs detract from the hotel ambiance.

Review 90:The shower was old and the shower head positioned too low. I almost had to get on my knees to wash my hair.

Review 91:Loved the bed and the Wi-Fi was good too.

Review 92:Great location! Staff very friendly and helpful. Gave great recommendations to wonderful restaurants!

Review 93:Did not like Imperial Restaurant - overpriced bar food with poor service.

Review 94:Great location - easy walk to the MAX. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great restaurant next door! Room was clean and comfortable.

Review 95:The restaurant Imperial!

Review 96:The room was luxurious and had everything you could want or need. The staff were super friendly and helpful

Review 97:Small but comfortable rooms.

Review 98:Bed not comfortable Sheets dirty Mattress hard Really small space

Review 99:Location was great

Review 100:The staff, decor, and location was perfect. The bed was so comfortable! Excellent value for money. Definitely will be back!

Review 101:Very nice hotel, with great restaurant (Imperial) walkably close to lots of things of interest in the pearl district.

Review 102:Excellent place to stay!

Review 103:Fitness centre was dated as was the room.

Review 104:The bed was great and could open a window which is helpfull to get control on fresh air.

Review 105:Nothing I didn't like

Review 106:How modern and nice looking the was

Review 107:tiny bathroom sink

Review 108:location, location, location view from room photography on the walls of the room hallways

Review 109:Welcoming, comfortable, right downtown

Review 110:Miniscule sink in a very small bathroom. Also very small bedroom area - especially for the USA - which made it feel overpriced. Not as comfortable as anticipated from other reviews.

Review 111:Location is very good - near Pioneer Square and shopping centres. Staff dealt efficiently with double booking. Interesting photos and décor.

Review 112:Our Queen Room had a terrible view - facing the interior courtyard and a neighboring office building. It was always dark and noisy as all the air conditioning vents were in this interior court. Ask for one with city view! The valet parking was too expensive $37 - parked on the street after 7pm it's free.

Review 113:Chic and stylish boutique hotel; excellent location; clean, comfortable rooms; We received the complimentary wifi

Review 114:Nothing!

Review 115:We loved the sitting areas in the lobby. Great place to relax and socialize, especially as we were a group of 6. The black and white photographs made the halls an interesting place to stop and check out. The interactive photos in the lobby were cool.

Review 116:The rooms are a bit small, especially the bathroom. However, they are laid out well and not too much of a bother.

Review 117:Great location, connected to an excellent restaurant and the overall design and comfort of the hotel was excellent. Great for business travel or vacation.

Review 118:The shower head was *low*. I stand at 6'1" (~1.85 meters), and the shower barely reached my neck. Lots of stooping and contorting when trying to bathe. There was no shower hose available.

Review 119:The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and offered excellent recommendations for local food and drink. The bed was amazing (try the "pillow menu") and the location is in the heart of downtown. Easy access to light rail, shopping, food, and night life. Very close to Powell's (epic bookstore) and The Roxy (epic diner). The hotel itself is beautifully appointed with a variety of interesting art works. Incredibly comfortable and relaxing.
