Reviews for The Heathman Hotel

Review 1:Mostly my fault but an issue with checking out late. My biggest travel pet peeve. Mostly when I'm tired and get a very slow start.

Review 2:Beautiful facilities. Location. Bed was super comfortable

Review 3:We did not like being called 2 times in the middle of night. We weredead to the world & they said we were playing music too loud. We hadnothing on not even the tv. They also did not get our luggage upstairsright away. We had to leave without having it.

Review 4:The host in the dining room was rather short with me, bordering on rude. The waitstaff were excellent however...

Review 5:The high quality of the room appointments, the comfortable bed, the quiet and the food.

Review 6:Thought the Front Desk personel were just OK. The Heathman is a Big Time Hotel, Their staff should represent that! Be Proud to work There! The Coffee pot was full of used grinds(gross)! Stayed at the Heathman 29 yrs ago on our wedding night, Just wasn't quite the same! Parking seemed expensive

Review 7:Bell-hop's outside the Main door were very friendly and helpful! The Bed was VERY comfortable!

Review 8:We found a cheerio on the floor next to our bed, and in the morning when i lifted my towel off the rack, it came off the wall. Also, our room faced a wall, and the toilet was extremely close to the tub in a tiny room where you could barely get the door open or closed without leaning over the tub.

Review 9:location!

Review 10:When I arrived, they could not find my reservation. I waited for 30 minutes. When I finally received my room it was the ante-room only of a business suite. It had a boardroom table and was decorated with paraphernalia from the Portland Theatre, including full size mannequins dressed in Shakespearean garb behind glass panels. The only bed was a full-size murphy bed that pulled down from the wall. I called to see if I could get a different room and was told there was none available. I laid down to read a book and was shocked at how uncomfortable the bed was... it was like your grandma's couch pull out with bars and springs poking into your back. I called the front desk and told them I needed a different room now or I would need a refund. Miraculously, then found another standard king room available, but warned me it was 1/3 of the size of the current room and had the same mattress. I've never had a problem with a bed before (I travel weekly for work) and said I'd take my chances. The new room was great (small but comfortable, as I would expect). The next morning, I called valet at 7:15 and was transferred to another guest's room. When I finally got through to valet and requested my car, they said it would be 5-6 minutes. I proceeded to stand on the sidewalk until 7:47 for my vehicle and was late to my morning meeting. It was unacceptable. I will never stay here again.

Review 11:We booked this for five people and when we got there found that it would not be possible for four adults and a teenager to fit so had to get another room at an extra expense.

Review 12:Great location and really nice staff.

Review 13:Small room, very small bathroom, especially almost not enough room to sit on the toilet, light switch by the door didn't do anything, overly pricey. The staff are too busy to listen, and I hate the costumes the porters are made to wear.

Review 14:Great location.

Review 15:Room & bathroom too small for a 'Deluxe Room'. Bathroom could only be used by one person at a time.

Review 16:Great location; excellent staff frontdesk and valet

Review 17:Very bad .charged us 3 times for same visit.took three hours to clear credit card and for hotel to refund in three days used book in south America no problem.

Review 18:The room service for breakfast both days was appalling. The first day service took 1 hr and 20 minutes and was delivered cold. The second day it too an hour (promised in 40) and was at least warm. Very underwhelming service. I expected much better service, bigger more well appointed room for the price

Review 19:The location was central to our downtown activities.

Review 20:Sofa bed very uncomfortable. Regular bed was fine. Given what they charge including $39 to park your car, I think the sofa bed could have been higher quality. Room was quiet

Review 21:Staff were very helpful and friendly

Review 22:booked a King "Deluxe" room Not very "deluxe" for over $400 per night? Very basic and small Very average room Not worth the $$$$

Review 23:Great location!

Review 24:Walking distance to great downtown spots! The staff was all great--from the doormen, to the desk clerks, to the maids. Everyone was friendly and helpful! Great value for this trendy hotel!

Review 25:Wish I'd been warned about the beefeater doorman so I could've eagerly anticipated seeing him!

Review 26:It is easy to access public transportation or walk to attractions from this location. The rooms are comfortable and are good to look at too!

Review 27:The dinner was very expensive, just salmon floating in overly sweet creamed corn. The salmon was nicely cooked but overwhelmed by the corn mush.

Review 28:The lobby and library were nice.

Review 29:There was an extremely noisy ice machine next to our room that even made our room walls tremble. They offered us a new room, so we had to pick up all our stuff and 3 small sleeping kids to change rooms. What bothered me the most that this was a problem they knew about so why put us in a room next to it. It isn't a cheap hotel.

Review 30:The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of all the major places. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.

Review 31:Nothing. There was a Mountain Dew event right outside my window, but even this wasn't a big deal. The event ended at a decent time and the hotel staff was very responsive regarding the inconvenience.

Review 32:The soundproofing! I was amazed that I could not hear people through the walls. I could hear people in the other rooms while in the hall, but never in my room. I'd stay there again simply for the assurance of a quiet night's sleep. Speaking of sleep, the bed was also amazing.

Review 33:The room was 'tired'. I had expected the hotel to have more charm, when in fact it was charming than most, but not worth the nightly rate.

Review 34:The location is excellent. The room service/restaurant is excellent.

Review 35:N/a

Review 36:Staff, location, room

Review 37:Location is great. Doormen are very helpful.

Review 38:Central location; beautiful appointments and furnishings; quietest hotel room ever; and the best best hotel lobby ever!

Review 39:Loved the French Press in the room and the library on the 2nd floor.

Review 40:No ice machine or vending machine, especially as stores are not close by.

Review 41:valet parking staff was very quick. Staffs were nice.

Review 42:The staff were fantastic!!! Supportive, assistive, professional.

Review 43:Poor value for money.

Review 44:Front desk staff - EXCELLENT

Review 45:Our bed, the location, the staff

Review 46:My husband found the workout room to be too small.

Review 47:The wonderful attention to detail.

Review 48:Cool shower.

Review 49:Location is good, size of room is good. TV and wifi were good.

Review 50:Bathroom was very small. Could not even reach the sink to brush teeth unless the door was closed. This was because of a towel rack behind the door which prevented the bathroom door from swinging open without blocking access to the sink. Overpriced!

Review 51:Service was outstanding.

Review 52:A too expensive to stay each time I come there and with the price so high parking shouldn't be so expensive

Review 53:Everything is always perfectly clean....staff very helpful and always pleasant....rooms are great...love your beds

Review 54:Price can be prohibitive for some however, we got a great latereservation price and this was most helpful (and we were most grateful)

Review 55:Bed was awesome, room was very quiet (didn't hear others outside ourdoor or above us, and the hotel was booked full that night), and goodfood service. Plus, I love the coffee press pot and that you had 1/2 and1/2 available in the room.

Review 56:The high-speed internet is not exactly high-speed (as in many hotels).

Review 57:I stayed 3 nights at the Heathman being on a business trip. It is a nice, classic hotel with excellent and friendly staff. It has a good location. The breakfast is fantastic and the restaurant really good. I had a spacious room.

Review 58:The location

Review 59:our queen bed room was small, I thought it was going to be a lot bigger!

Review 60:great location, helpful staff

Review 61:Great room and location.

Review 62:They took care of everything. They anticipated everything.

Review 63:Nothing

Review 64:Everything! Highly recommend a visit!

Review 65:A good hotel! I love it! Everything is perfect!

Review 66:Waited room for 2 hours - far too long time. Could have been given room without waiting correction of internet.

Review 67:Restaurant

Review 68:The smallest bathroom we've had anywhere in the world, aside fromEuropean train travel...ridiculous!

Review 69:Very upbeat, helpful front desk staff
