Review 1：The breakfast at outside grill with coupons from Marine motel was reasonable , but the owner ? was not so very friendly and made one feel a bit like a beggar....

Review 2：Good value for money and location good for railway station and the cruise port both walkable distance although one has to cross the main road with luggage...but motorists are very courteous and stopped every time.. The room was quite spacious and very clean. Bathroom quite small but very clean with enough hot water Friendly reception and help with free wi-fi.

Review 21：To begin with, we were bumped to the Van Gilder, an historic building that was one of their 4 hotels. And though it was a neat historic building, it smelled musty. There was trash left in the room from previous occupants. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, the paper on the walls peeling, and the view out of our windows was a gray brick wall. The pictures in their add certainly didn't match our room, and the free breakfast was at a place on the other side of town.

Review 23：We had to wait an extra hour before check in. We had a room at another place but was told this one was better. But it had no fridge like the other place, the noise of the traffic, you had to walk across the street just for ice. Nothing was plugged in when we got to finally check in. Really need more than 1 tiny pillow on the bed. No view except for a huge tree blocking our so called view.

Handprints on mirror were there at check in and still there two nights later at check out. Way way over priced. We stayed at a new business class best western in a major centre 4 nights later for 75.00 a night less than this old rundown building.

It isn't a new motel, but it was clean and comfortable and the management and staff were very friendly and helpful. Compared to other room prices in Alaska it was a great value. Review 36：It was clean. I especially liked the bag lunches you could buy. I had a roast beef wrap and it was quite tasty. Looks like a hole from the street but I was pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff.

Review 37：Although we were able to walk to the harbor, it was a little inconvenient because we had to cross Seward Highway that could get busy at times. The walk wasn't a long one but again it was raining two days out of the three that we were there so we didn't enjoy that. The room that we were in was small and the furnishings were very basic and dated. So was the bathroom.

Review 50：All staff are very good. Especially the manager at front desk and Katharina. On the day that I arrived, it was a rainy day. My clothes are all wet so I asked for dryer machine service. They offer me to use hotel's laundry equipment for free. That was very nice.

Review 51：The summer rates are very high, but this is expected in Alaska. The prepaid "breakfast" for $9 per person is really a couple of rolls, a small yogurt and a piece of fruit handed to you by the person working the desk. A thrifty person could get more for their money and have a complete selection of foods by walking 1-block down the street to the grocery. For $9 the same person could easily walk to a nearby restaurant and eat a hot breakfast.

Ridiculous rate for the what is offered, absolutely nothing extra ordinary or notable other than a convenient location . . . . disappointed that I booked in advance of arriving in Seward.
