Reviews for Seward Windsong Lodge

Review 1:First night the fitted sheet did not fit the bed properly and sheets came out. That was resolved the next day when bed remade with a good fitting bottom sheet.

Review 2:Setting, Restaurant and Room.

Review 3:The distance from the room to the restaurant was too great. I use a cane, and it was raining making it difficult to walk on a safe surface.

Review 4:The rooms were clean, spacious and the beds comfortable. Enjoyed the little patio. Always pleased to have coffee maker in the room.

Review 5:Facility is showing wear and tear. Bed and pillows not that comfortable. Towels old, discolored and mismatched. No maid service (at least for our room and we were out all day). Horrible in room coffee. Most expensive lodging we had and did not measure up to places half the price.

Review 6:Truly? Nothing.

Review 7:Biggest complaint is the hotel's wi-fi. The staff tried to explain the wi-fi was slow in Seward and that may be, but with the hotel's equipment set-up we couldn't even connect to any type of wi-fi from our room. I have the latest Apple phone and Ipad and I had to put on jacket to walk all the way to main lobby to connect at night. Also the floors/ceilings in the rooms must be thin because all night the people in the room above us sounded like heavy stomping bears just by walking normally around. It prevented us from restful sleep.

Review 8:Hotel is only a short 5 minute drive from Seward city-center/harbor and is in a quiet woodsy nature area that is worthy of Alaska and relaxing with the exception of a few distant hunter's gunshots that rang out loudy from time to time in the afternoon.

Review 9:Whole room smelled like mildew when we arrived. The shower curtain wasthe culprit-which when asked, they replaced. Then the smell went away.Wonder why they didn't replace it when they cleaned? Our room doorhad a small gap where you could see light on one side. Think that'show we got mosquitoes in our room. Not exactly sure what we paid $17extra for (porterage) as it appeared no one on the shuttles was askedfor a receipt to haul them & their luggage. No one at the front deskcould explain to me??? Interesting.

Review 10:The location of this lodge is simply AMAZING-unparalleled views. Theyprovide free shuttle service to train & cruise piers, downtown. Youcan sit on their outdoor patio eating/drinking & enjoy the world-class view of mountains, stream & wildflowers.

Review 11:Surprised that at this price there was no breakfast ( continental or full) included.

Review 12:Location and main lodge were beautiful. Staff was generally efficient.

Review 13:Beautiful site in the trees next to a river. Beautiful mountains all around. Shuttle service. Wonderful warm friendly people working there. Very clean comfortable rooms.

Review 14:The bathroom was not large enough to include the sink, and that the double rooms were a bit small.

Review 15:Friendliness of staff especially Sarah and Matt the bartender/busboy... AK King crab was excellent...

Review 16:More tables and chairs for guests to sit on outside rooms.

Review 17:Lovely lodge in an excellent position. Staff very helpful. Room very clean and food very good.

Review 18:The resort was outside of the main part of Seward. It was quiet, in the woods near a pretty lake. The main lodge building was large and nice. The staff was very helpful.

Review 19:Warm friendly staff, set out of town and this would be ideal if you where going to be in Seward for a longer period of time .we traveled independently by car so it was easy for us to get to this location. Great location and woodland setting was loverly

Review 20:Enjoying a drink in the bar (and having planned diner in the restaurant )was disturbed by the passing by of more than 100 if not 200 People who enjoyed a free spaghetti diner offered by the lodge. Probably for charity reasons. Offering this is good but not in a way that it disturbes paying guests. We left and took the shuttle to town to enjoy our dinner.

Review 21:The quiet location. Shuttle service.

Review 22:Nothing!

Review 23:The quiet woodsy setting with log lodges. The food was good, the hourly shuttle downtown with very friendly and accommodating staff. Free Wi-fi with computors. Transport of luggage to railway at no charge was a big plus.

Review 24:The restaurant was a bit pricey, but so were all the other "good" restaurants in Seward.

Review 25:The size of the room; however, we did pay premium. It was nice to have a deck, if you don't mind the mosquitos.

Review 26:The price point is a little high but it was high season and apparently we got the last room.

Review 27:The location and setting are wonderful. The layout is unique but makes it easy to access. The look is rustic but very functional.

Review 28:WiFi worked mostly in the lobby. Very poor service in the room.

Review 72:The staff were very friendly and the room was very comfortable. The hotel is in agreat setting for those whowant to yust relax and be away from the town. Nice drive to Exit Glacier from hotel which is on the same road. Close to town but far enough away to be cosy.

Review 73:terrible service in roadhouse restaurant.....server ignored us....came back after 20 minutes to say she was going to place our order but forgot, there were only two of us....waited on me, ignored my husband....quality of food good, service - terrible - sorry

Review 74:quiet room in wooded location

Review 75:Restaurant cost and quality of food. Cost of room. Not much choice in hotels

Review 76:Beautiful setting. Shuttle into town, but wish it was more frequent than every hour.

Review 77:It is primarily a lodge that tour groups use as a base. Lots of tour buses, crowds, people leaving for day trips. I mainly disliked the location though - not close enough to walk to anything. Rather isolated, encourages you to just take arranged trips.

Review 78:Restaurant was good.

Review 79:The staff were very nice and helpful. The grounds were beautiful in awoodsy area about 8 miles from Epic Glacier. Room was very comfortableand free wireless internet. Not too far away from a Safeway/grocerystore and downtown. Lovely drive to the site from other areas of Alaska.Quiet and loved drinking coffee outside on our balcony.
