Reviews for Econo Lodge Sequoia Area

Review 1:Room was incredibly hot, but air con unbearably noisy. Breakfast offered tea bags, but no hot water.

Review 2:Walkable distance to downtown Visalia and its pubs and restaurants

Review 3:First room had no fridge. There were several parties going on the first nights stay. People standing in hall talking at 5 am. Second night was peaceful and we were given a different room..yhis room had a fridge which was nice

Review 4:Rooms were large

Review 5:Entrance and exit overheard is too low for a safety issue. Especially people whose driving with stuff in the roof rack . Warning sign would be a big help.

Review 6:It's closer to sequoia national park and a good place just to sleep in. rate is cheap for us with kids that include breakfast.

Review 7:The pillows were not comfortable. You can't adjust the airflow of the AC unit.

Review 8:Very quiet. Very clean and close to a lot of stores and restaurants.

Review 9:When we arrived to the hotel they want us to pay extra money because on their confirmation paper that they've received they did not have any kids. When I did the reservation, I ask 3 rooms with 2 adults and 2 kids each room, and I got my email confirmation with that info. Sadly when we got to the place, their papers were different than my email.

Review 10:The receptionist was very rude and unhelpful. We booked via booking.com 7 rooms and he charged us 12 rooms. He did not care about the confirmation for only 7 rooms from booking.com. He wanted us to pay for 12 rooms or leave. This is not the way you treat your guests.

Review 11:the room wasn't too light as the window faced the corridor, but it was not a problem at all.

Review 12:Very clean room, big enough space and nice and helpful owner. Close to Sequoia.

Review 13:Extremly rude receptionist. We booked the rooms on booking.com, 7 rooms total. When we arrived they had 12 rooms ready for us instead of only 12. And they expected us to pay for more rooms we had not booked. They told us to go somewhere else if we did not want to pay for the rooms! We showed them the confirmation for 7 rooms from booking.com and they just did not care. Outrageous. Stay away from this motel.

Review 14:The fridge was unplugged with the door closed. You can not do that. It will mold every time. There was significant mom's in the freezer compartment. When we plugged it in we noticed that it was improperly disassembled on the inside.

Review 15:Great soft towels. Great location for eating out and an hour from the Great trees in Sequoia the staff were very helpful and the breakfast choice was very good including hot pancakes.

Review 16:Nothing comes to mind.

Review 17:This lcation was very convenient to the Con-vention Center, which allowed us more time to relax in our room. Management was very professional and helpful. I would arrange to stay here next year for our annual Convention

Review 18:motel is located far from the city center of visalia, thus the choice of dinner places is rather limited if you do not want to take your car again

Review 19:helpful staff - recommended really good diner

Review 20:The pool is not functional and the hotel is quite old. The breakfast had only cold food.

Review 21:The staff was helpful and it was just off the road to Sequoia.

Review 22:The exterior of the hotel and the neighborhood around it have a run down feel. I wouldn't quite say the area looked unsafe, but I didn't much care for the section of the city. A few miles away, Visalia looked pleasant enough, but the hotel is in a grungy neighborhood.

Review 23:The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. This is an economy hotel, and guests should not expect a lot of luxuries. If you are just looking for a place to rest at night, this is a decent place to stay. It is only a few blocks from Highway 198, so it is convenient to find and to leave. There are many restaurants nearby.

Review 24:The AC was way too loud, but if you turned it off,it would be too hot. And the refrigerator and the ventilator in bathroom were also too loud, and so was the mattress. I could hardly sleep because of these noises.

Review 25:Nothing

Review 26:A bit of a pine-solly smell. Location not so nice, but you would never know once in room.

Review 27:I usually take more expensive hotel route. Since I was only sleeping, thought I would save some money. It was an unexpected pleasure! Exceptional staff.

Review 28:Nothing really. Air conditioning was a bit noisy but is like that almost everywhere. Breakfast area was a bit small for the number of people trying to use it.

Review 29:Was a perfect place to stop overnight on our way to Sequoia. Was easy to find, and had a number of restaurants nearby within walking distance. Best of all it had a swimming pool so we could cool off after a long drive as it was really hot. Front desk guy was friendly and helpful.

Review 66:30 minutes from the city centre (walking distance)

Review 67:big room, good facilites

Review 68:Swimming pool closed

Review 69:Parking is big, but it isn't by the unit numbers. Every time we had to park in different parking space.

Review 70:Frendly employe and good service

Review 71:my upstairs room was quite warm even with the cooler on.

Review 72:the price and location were both convenient for me

Review 73:Internet works but the signal is not very good Breakfast

Review 74:Location Parking

Review 75:Cleanliness - spotted a roach in the main lobby

Review 76:Price + Location Breakfast (though was minimal) that saved us a lot of time

Review 77:Clean and spacy for great price

Review 78:Location not to far from main highway. Close enough for restaurants and shopping. Within an hours drive to Sequoia National Park. Motel staff was very helpful.

Review 79:- Housekeeper didn't scrab the bathtub - Staff told me that just 20 minutes walk to Best Buy but I spend almost 50 minutes to walk to there. So far !!! But I can handle it. This place is good.

Review 80:- Near Visalia Mall - Value for money - Comfortable

Review 81:We had a good stay, with the Sequoia National Park about 40 minutes away. The motel was good value for money. Rooms were very clean, in good condition and had a refrigerator, air conditioning and free wifi. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance - try the Hometown Buffet. Would like to have tried the pool, but it was too early in the season - it looked inviting.

Review 82:Although continental breakfast has varieties, most of them were sweet, sort of junk food. They should provide some nutritious food, fruits etc.

Review 83:Clean refurbished unit with very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 84:Need a few minor fix's such as a new mirror in the bathroom and a new sink. Otherwise, in good shape.

Review 85:The overall friendliness of the staff. Good location. Great value for the price. I have stayed at other econo lodge's and all were a great value.

Review 86:It was noisy (pets are not allowed in the motel, we heared a dog in a car the whole night, and it's close to the highway). Breakfast was ok, not more.

Review 87:The spacious and clean room, the hairdryer.

Review 88:Commode backed up and flooded bathroom at 2 a.m.. Heat/ac had no power until I found reset on power cord in the a.m. When I advised staff about the back up, I was told to come to the desk for a plunger. They did offer another room.

Review 89:Fair price for what you get. ($88.)

Review 90:Internet lost connection every time you were passive for x minutes and you have to go through a several click procedure to get online

Review 91:Normal hotel wit a very nice staff/poster.

Review 92:The room "smelled" a bit. Like they have been using a lot of parfum to cover other odours.

Review 93:The staff doesn't speak English very well, but they are friendly and helpful people. The price and location.

Review 94:The room was a bit dingier and less comfortable than we expected.

Review 95:Overall the experience was good. The staff was friendly enough and the room was clean. The breakfast was sparse but had a waffle maker.

Review 96:Staff was rude and unfrendly. Charge a 25$ deposit fee and used theexcuse of checking out 15 minutes late to keep the money. Better will beto charge from the begining and not make the customer field that hasbeen robed.

Review 97:Big king beds

Review 98:The closeness to the street and the noise.

Review 99:The gentleman at the desk who greeted us was most friendly and most helpful with directions and finding a place for dinner etc. The place was very clean.

Review 100:While booking from booking.com, we have clearly entered that we are group of 4 people and would like to take 2 queen beds. But while checking out we were charged extra $20, because apparently the hotel staff argued that booking.com price was just for 2 people, when it clearly said 4. We have booked lot of other lodges through booking.com and never faced this issue.

Review 101:Breakfast is very poor Outside sounds do not let sleep well - room soundisolation is poor Pricing is not transparent - my booking.com price was$75/two bed room (max 4 people), but when arrived I had to pay extrafor the 2 kids travelling with me.

Review 102:Rooms were pretty nice

Review 103:Spacious room with parking, wifi, breakfast..for a very affordable price. Close to Yosemite National Park. The receptionist was very helpful in providing us with excellent information and advises for visiting California.

Review 104:The first room we got had a few cockroaches roaming around. Thankfully, the second room we got was roach-free.

Review 105:The second room was clean and nice albeit a bit noisy (facing the road), the employees were prompt and nice, very professional and friendly.

Review 106:Bed was uncomfortable, wifi kept going in and out; had to re-enter the pw several times. Breakfast was blasé, but that's what one can expect for the price- I had a bowl of raisin bran and got on with my day.

Review 107:Close to restaurants , the gentleman that checked me in was very polite.

Review 108:Would have prefered closer to downtown and Sequoia but that'sthe way it is
