Review 1：Great location and very friendly, helpful staff. The lady at the front desk suggested a place for dinner - East by Northeast - and it was just wonderful. The hotel is a bit tired looking and could do with a re-vamp but having the beach right outside your door made up for that! We went for a great run as the sun was coming up and came back to our room and drank a cup of tea on the porch while watching the fishermen on the beach. Loved it!
Review 2：not bad just disappointing I came with my 16 year old and we wanted to watch movies at night. No capability, not a good family situation especially on a rainy day or at night if you don't go out much. My suggestion is to also sell the blue mason jars at the desk, instead of having them taken by guests cause they are so cool. Also a wet weather mat at the entrance so you don't drag mud and water into the room..

Review 4：Wi Fi went out all night. In early am, we reported to the office who never resolved the problem....so really NO Wi Fi for our stay. Had called ahead to make sure the pool would be opened since it was off season and we were assured it would be. This was a big selling point for us, so we were disappointed that the pool was closed due to a privately booked event. So, the facilities were very nice, but the customer service is definitely lacking.

Review 6：I HATED THAT THE REFRIGERATORS WERE SO TINY THAT WE COULDN'T EVEN FIT A CONTAINER OF MILK IN IT AND HAD TO BUY A COOLER. I MISSED THE WAY THE KITCHEN AREA WAS BEFORE IT WAS REDONE...WE ALSO HAD TO GO OUT AND BUY PAPER GOODS AS THERE WAS NO PLATES OR GLASSES.

Review 8：The room was not perfectly clean. The entire hotel has seen better days, it is getting old and needs renovations. The entire hotel is badly soundproofed, we could hear our neighbors. The receptions was not available 24/7. We shared a room with 3 people and the sofa bed was not really comfortable. Given these drawbacks, the hotel was too expensive.

Review 24：Jacuzzi still needs to be fixed - it works but isn't at all powerful - my room Key wasnt working , lots of stains on the pillows, light on balcony was out...but I was fine until checkout - the one thing that really bothered me is that this is off season and plenty of vacant rooms, and I asked for an extension to check out which I never do but I wasn't able to move my 10:30 am work call so I was hoping they can do me this favor. (They should make the checkout time for noon instead of 11 anyway.) As soon as 12 pm came they were calling our room nonstop. Very nervy. Literally at 12 on the dot. We were out of the room at 12:05. I can see if it were a busy time but midweek in October...other than that it won't matter cause I'll be back there soon - it really is my favorite place - just wish I was treated a little nicer and hoping they maintain the place better.
Review 25：Came back here again cause after 30 years it's my second home. Love the place, but definitely not sure about the current staff (other than Chantelle and Randy who are really nice). Pool was warm which was great!
Review 26：We booked a room for 4 adults and the confirmation said that I was booking two double beds. However it didn't specify that one of them was a pull out couch, it was only after I called the hotel a few days before my arrival to confirm my reservation that they mentioned this, so I asked the person on the reception desk if they had a room with two double beds and she said no, that all the rooms were like that (one double bed and one pull out couch). The pull out couch was not comfortable, it was hard and squeaked a lot and it was way smaller than a double bed and therefore uncomfortable for 2 people sleeping on it. Also the staff was not friendly, they were not rude but not friendly.

Came back to the room half hr before checkout time and our door was already open and the staff was already picking up. The staff didn't recall confirm the late checkout and were extremely rude. I was shocked that they didn't even bother to call me to let me know they were going to the room. Two days later they charged me for an extra night and did not bother to call me back to explain why. I had to call booking.com several times to try and reach the hotel. After about almost two weeks, I finally got my money back. FYI - they never pick up their phones.

In addition, the guests in the neighboring room were making a lot of noise after midnight, but there was no one to contact at the front desk after 11 p.m. That's not excusable.

Review 60：Hotel rooms are really small and misrepresented on their website. When we complained they did find a bigger room for us however it was still a squeeze for 2 adults and 2 children. So not value for money at all. The air-conditioning unit was ancient, rattled and very noisy plus extremely rusty. The balcony carpet was wet from the air-conditioning unit constantly dripping on it and the carpet was filthy. In addition the balcony was rickety. I dread to think what would happen if someone leaned against it!

Review 88：A bit pricey for the the the room we had,we had a small microwave and a mini fridge that wasn't working to good.The room although nice was a bit small for a family of 4 in my opinion.The only thing that I thought was completely ridiculous was that this hotel had only one small ice machine to service the entire hotel.We spent Mon-Thurs without getting one ice cube out of the machine,on one of the times we tried a young man said follow him,he told us he's been getting his ice in the hotel next to ours,so that's what we did,we iced up in another hotel,needless to say this hotel can use a few more ice machines.

Review 90：Mediocre at best! To begin, we felt the front desk staff was not the least bit polite or friendly from the minute we arrived! The rooms were tight and sparse. They claim to be under new management and a newly renovated property. They gave the Oceans North a blue paint job! The infrastructure of the building is terrible, the smell from the broken pipe outside our flooded room was awful and the pool is a joke. I wouldn't let my kids in it. I understand they are seasonal and have to make their money in 3 months time, but their front desk manager is nasty and needs to learn customer service skills. She was curt and short from the minute we walked in. She called me 24 hours AFTER we checked out and accused my family of still being in the room!! "Check out at 11:00am - you need to leave" were her exact words - we had checked out 24 hours earlier. Really!?? Check your computer before you call guests to accuse them of something and attempt to charge them for an additional night. I thought she was calling to refund us a night stay because the room flooded from the rain and the refrigerator was hot. We had to use my teenage son's boogie board to divert the rain from getting in the room! No, she was calling - to kick us out. My family of 5 has been enjoying Montauk each summer for several years now and we like to try new properties every few years. This one was a bust.

We stayed in room 348 and the bathroom sink pipe leaked a little bit. However, I would say that none of these negatively impacted our stay. Things happen. If we had cared enough to bring up our concerns, then I'm sure the hotel would have tried to accommodate us.
Review 109：The location is unbeatable. I was really nervous after reading some of the reviews online but Chantelle addressed my concerns and my party had a delightful experience. This is a beach hotel, not a full service high rise in a metropolitan area. For this category, I thought it was one of the better hotels in town because it is newly renovated and beautiful. There is an indoor pool with a heated tub. We stayed on the 2nd floor for privacy though the 1st floor units looked fun because you can walk right onto the beach. For what it's worth, I didn't think the trash cans or fridges were too small. In the fridge, I was able to fit a leftover box, 2 bottles of wine, and a soda plus snacks. By no means can it hold enough food for a family for a week. I didn't find the hotel across the street to be noisy, but I generally don't care about noisy festivities. It was weird not having a deadbolt (the hotel uses actual keys and locks) but I didn't worry about security at all. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Review 110：The hotel is directly on the beach with an awesome view of the ocean from its private balcony. Comfortable bed and clean, modern bathroom were great also. Parking is very convenient and it's a short walk to the Village shops.

The pool was closed for the entire period of our stay, but when we booked this was not mentioned. The rooms are comfortable for 2 persons but definitely NOT for 4 persons. Review 119：Shantelle (the lady running the office) was not welcoming. Poor customer service skills; she offered mostly excuses and hostility. Our complaints vary from cleanliness to overall state of disrepair. Examples (and keep in mind that this was not their busy season-April '15): lip marks on the glasses, hair covered towels and linens, excessively dirty mirrors and windows, broken patio doors/screen doors and steps, many lights didn't work due to blown bulbs, no working room phones and several other discrepancies. It seemed Shantelle was quick to make excuses rather than solve the problems. However, the other staff members seemed eager to make us comfortable once we were eventually settled. After five room changes we choose the lesser of the evils. Although we paid extra for an ocean view, we could only see out of one side of the sliding glass door due to condensation and cloudiness from the poorly sealed glass. And most rooms have an ocean view. All but one room that we were shown had this problem. Although, we did have many issues with Montauk Blue with an unwelcoming and unhelpful staff member as well as issues with the units, I can not say enough positive things about the view (from outside on the patio) or the proximity to the beach. And I guess that is why we paid what we paid and stayed where we did.....

Review 122：I called to ask a question about my reservation. I was put on hold for over 10mins. I hung up and called back, no one picked up. I called back about 8 times before someone picked up and was told they were busy checking in guests. Mind you this was April and out of season, would hate to know what they will do in the summer when it's peak! Eventually I spoke to a senior lady in the office who hung up on me when I kept asking for her name before giving mine. When I called back I asked her in disbelief if she really just hung up on me? She told me I was not answering her question! I reminded her I am the customer and deserve a response from her before answering her question. Very rude.
