Reviews for Breeze Inn Motel
Review 1:Was placed in second floor room of an exterior balcony. My door was opposite a wooden stairwell that was being rebuilt using power tools. The work was loud and continued until 6 PM. The thermostat was set at < 60 degrees F and although I raised it to past 80 it took about 2 hours for the room to heat up to a point that I was no longer cold.
Review 2:Location and room rate were excellent. Room furniture was in excellent shape and updated.
Review 3:Our room wasn't serviced. We had put notice at 9am for our room to be serviced. At 530pm the room wasn't serviced. That evening we never received call or anyone to come service the room as well.
Review 4:Location was awesome, perfect view of the harbor. Beautiful sunrise and sunset. Right in the middle of town, easy to walk to all locations.
Review 5:There is a new wing, but we were in the old rooms that felt dated and desperate need of a full makeover. The sheets are thread bare and need to be replaced.
Review 6:In the middle of what feels like a car park, but it's right near where the glacier tour boats leave and some of the better restaurants so all in all, a very convenient place to stay
Review 7:Didn't have anything negative.
Review 8:I came with 3 grandchildren, I wrote about my situation on my reservation, and the staff read between the lines and gave me a double bed and a 3 twins, one for each child. When I went to the desk I never felt like an interruption.
Review 9:The Breeze Inn is a basic motel/inn with obvious wear&tear on the in- and outside. Big part of the room price goes for the location. The only window in the room has to be covered by shades all the time, otherwise everyone walking by can see everything in the room. The bathroom would benefit from a renovation/update.
Review 10:The best part of Breeze Inn is the location - it is less than a minute walk to the harbour with restaurants, shops and esp. the boat tour piers. Bathroom was dated but clean. Sufficient and free parking for guests.
Review 11:In Seward, you have to choose between the downtown area and the harbor area. Getting between the two is not a walkable distance for most people.
Review 12:Great view of the harbor, close to good restaurants on the harbor, both just across the street. Across the street from the Kenai Fjords tour office and boats.
Review 13:extremely expensive room for what you get. I booked two nights in Seward, I got off a cruise ship in the morning and did a fiords cruise....basically nothing else to do after that....I recommend only one full day/night in Seward.
Review 14:the view was excellent, rooms seemed to be quite soundproof from the street noise
Review 15:It is located across the street from the small boat harbor where the day cruises begin and within easy walking distance to the train depot and the bus pick-up. There are several restaurants near-by. The views from the harbor are spectacular.
Review 16:Picked us up from train station, hotel was modern with great seating in lounge. We were catching the ship (Radiance of the Seas) the next day. We had a storm that night and lost power for about 1.5 hours, it also delayed the ship. The staff at the Inn let us stay in the lounge until we could board the ship at 5pm and then drove us to the ship, excellent service
Review 17:Because of the central location, a bit noisy.
Review 18:Staff was wonderful. Room was clean and had a nice view of the bay. The cafe had the best breakfasts in town!
Review 19:I was not allowed to keep dig in room even though said pet friendly, the assistant manager was really rude about finding me a room even swiping so I could have dig stay with me instead of car.
Review 20:It was available on the date and king room. It was located by good restaurants.
Review 21:Room could use a little updating, but we stayed in the older section of the hotel.
Review 22:View of Harbor from room was great. All the excursions were across the street. Bus stop to downtown was in front of Hotel restaurant.
Review 23:Not a super scenic location, we looked out on a parking lot.
Review 24:Right across from kenai fjords tour, walked across the parking lot and we were there. Also walking distance to restaurants.
Review 25:AC in only part of suite, not a big problem but could be in hotter weather.
Review 26:Very nice area on the harbor, easy access to thinks, nice place to walk around
Review 27:The hotel has several sections. I was in the old 60's era section with old furnishings and very tiny bathroom. It was adequate for a very short stay. Couldn't print out my boarding pass due to printer problems.
Review 28:The location of the hotel is extremely convenient if you are taking a boat tour or a fishing charter -- right across the street, The price was reasonable for Alaska summer rates.
Review 29:Too much noise during the night. Have been a loyal customer for years. This was the worst. Can't blame it on the hotel just the people who stay there.
Review 30:Close to dock.
Review 31:Wifi was not very good, but it was better than other places we stayed in Alaska.
Review 32:The location of this hotel is great! It's directly across the street from the small boat harbor and our room looked out onto the harbor and the mountains beyond. The room was quiet and comfortable. They offered fresh-baked cookies in the afternoon and staff were helpful.
Review 33:It was a little further from the town center then I expected (a tad too far to walk).
Review 34:Hotel was fine; it was a little further from the town center then I expected (a tad too far to walk).
Review 35:Nothing bad to report.
Review 36:After reading some reviews the week before we arrived, I was a little worried. However, the staff was nothing but kind and the room was wonderful. We could not have asked for anything better.... except the summer prices.
Review 37:We checked in late, and the person on the counter wasnt very friendly. we had booked 2 rooms and when i asked if the 2 rooms were close together, he replied very rudely that they were in fact far apart. Also the beds were not very sturdy so for heavy people: please plan to lay in the center.
Review 38:The morning staff (during checkout ) was very nice and friendly. Wifi was good, bathroom was clean
Review 39:The matress was thin and made for a poor sleeping experience. The shower water constantly varied in temperature.
Review 40:Located in a convenient hub of Seward. Good parking was also available.
Review 41:Would have liked a hair-drier in room. Front desk had them available, would have preferred them to bring it to the room when requested, instead of our having to come to the front desk.
Review 42:No air conditioning.
Review 43:Great location, very personable and helpful desk staff. We traveled to/from Seward by train. They happily stowed our luggage before check-in and after check-out while we were touring. Clean & comfortable. Reasonably priced.
Review 44:Did not like the rubber mattress cover. It was noisy and not too comfortable.
Review 45:Loved the location for cruising and the RR station. Room was very clean and newly redone.
Review 46:My experience was great, except I couldn't give comfort 100% because there's no AC and it was 80 that day. Had to sleep with windows opened but was still too warm.I'm sure that is the exception and not the rule in Alaska.
Review 47:Staff was friendly and room was clean. Great location for fishing charter with J-Dock.
Review 48:Seward, Alaska is a small fishing town, so there is not much as way of hotels, etc. That being said, the Breeze Inn is a perfect location to the charters, tours, etc. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are nice and clean.
Review 49:We liked the location. Parking was easy, and we could walk to restaurants, shops, and boat docks. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. TV and wifi worked well for us.
Review 50:It wasn't cleaned thoroughly as there was a half drink bottle of water in the fridge. I was expecting a blow dryer and had to go fishing with damp hair.
Review 51:The location was so convenient! In the morning we were able to walk across the street and go fishing after grabbing coffee and a muffin next door. We came in very late (early in the morning). Friendly staff were there to check us in.
Review 52:We booked and received confirmation for 2 harbor view rooms (at a higher room rate). When checking in, we asked again whether our rooms were indeed harbor view. Kelly at the front desk confirmed that they were. As we arrived late, we went out for dinner before going to our rooms. We only found out these rooms have absolutely no harbor view afterwards. We felt that Kelly had knowingly lied to us. She was the most senior staff at the front desk and it would be unbelievable if she didn't know the fact!
Review 53:Location and spacious room.
Review 54:The food in their adjacent restaurant was of poor quality and tasted bad.
Review 55:Excellent location across the street from the marina. The gift shop was nice with 1/2 price items. We received a free mug at the gift shop.
Review 56:Although room booking was made well in advance and having immediately extended my stay one day, hotel staff did not take the trouble to extend my stay in same room when available. I had to check-out at 11 am pack all my luggage and check back in at 3 pm. WiFi in the new room was unavailable. This annoying room change and lack of WiFi signal was avoidable with well stablished customer satisfaction policies. I am sure that the problem was solvable with staff willing to provide customer's satisfaction. Further, I had the impression that bed and pillow sheets are not changed when previous test leaves if staying one night only. Found them wrinkled...!!!
Review 57:Location near the boat marina.
Review 58:Staff excellent. I left important papers on cruise ship, a staff member drove to the ship & collected papers for me (I was out touring the district when the advice arrived at motel))
Review 59:Breakfast; the eggs tasted strange (but i did not complain , just did not eat them). My sisters separate room was very noisy (pipes etc.)
Review 60:the cleanliness of the room and warmth and helpfulness of the staff.
Review 61:Check in is a slow process. They didn't have extra pillows. AC not in every room. Sink didn't not drain immediately.
Review 62:Good location, staff is willing to try to help answer questions, clean, bright rooms. Wifi and TV were good.
Review 65:Wifi fades out as you get away from the lobby, too bad on an otherwise good experience. The view from our room was of a dingy parking lot. Be wary of the rooms in the old section: exterior access balconies, windows with no privacy, depressing rooms.
Review 66:The new part of Breeze in a great- spacious room, spic and span clean and new. A bit bland decor, but very comfortable. Lobby is nice, location is convenient.
Review 67:They advertise they have hair dryer and they did not have one in the room . They ran out of them and you have to check them out at front desk. Also only had two pillows on double bed , we asked for one more pillow and they said they did not have any extra...finally after two days I got one more. Room was tiny and internet VERY SLOW.Had to go down and get cups and coffee everyday from front desk as maid did not leave new ones each morning for the 4 days we were there.
Review 68:Restaurant was very good food and service.Close and within walking distance to restaurants and boat trip,
Review 69:Several sections to the Inn I stayed in the older section not what it looks like like online Internet was nonexistent very expensive not worth the dollar value paid.
Review 70:Good location
Review 71:Their staff wasn't the friendliest. If we needed something from the front desk (towels), we had to go get it. They didn't deliver to rooms. And we were in a separate building from the lobby. They had no extra pillows (which were totally flat) and no batteries for the remote. This place cost too much per night for me with these issues
Review 72:I liked the location and the look of the lobby
Review 73:The view from the front is blocked. You need to open the window in the back along with the front to allow air flow. If car sounds bother you, this is not the place for your. The price was higher than a regular inn but Seward is very touristic so I'm guessing the rest of the prices are high.
Review 74:The staff is friendly. They let us leave our car parked before check-in and after check-out as we toured around Seward. The bed was comfortable and we had a fridge.
Review 75:The people from housekeeping need a bunch of training. No hair dryer in our room as advertised. Desk personnel couldn't help with that. Very sore spot with my wife!!!! Expenssive.
Review 76:Close to everything we needed. Friendly and helpful staff. Shuttle service.
Review 77:The price was expensive, there wasn't a free breakfast included, and the bathroom was small.
Review 78:Hotel was older but nice and clean, very close to piers and boat docks. Nice staff at the front desk.
Review 79:I wish the staff didn't complain to customers how busy they were. We are looking for a relaxing experience, not stress. Other than that they were very friendly.
Review 80:Clean, friendly staff, great locations
Review 81:Just happened to get there at the wrong time, I guess, but we had a long wait to check in.
Review 82:Quiet and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 83:Dated rooms, the modern rooms may be better. Noise from walkways outside rooms and noise from early morning vehicles reversing outside hotel.
Review 84:Pleasant and helpful staff on arrival.
Review 85:Pillows had antitheft monitors, somewhat lumpy at edge of pillow if trying to roll pillow.
Review 86:Easily walkable to restaurants, shops and harbour area. Excellent large lobby area to gather group. Room good space, uncrowded
Review 87:Stayed in 2 different rooms as I decided later to stay an extra night. First room impression would have rated this as fair only. Coffee filter was left in from previous guest so I had to question how thorough the cleaning was. However the 2nd night was much better room and clean but price was 10$ more for near identical room and both week nights.
Review 88:Good location, walking distance to restaurants and marina.
Review 89:Their Wi-Fi does not work, DHCP is not working, which is trivial to set up. They are running obsolete Server software. Need to fire the IT Guy and get someone knowable. When you charge big city rates for rooms I expect big city service. Your incompetence spoiled an otherwise beautiful city.
Review 90:The front desk staff on check in was nice and efficient.
Review 91:My business partner had a room across the hall. We stayed 5 nights, andhe had serious issues with the toilet flushing properly in his room forthe last 3. He brought it to the attention of the hotel staff rightaway, but the problem was never fixed. He ended up trying to plunge ithimself, and tried adjusting the flushing water pressure, to no avail.Never did flush all the way (if you know what I mean).
Review 92:Room was large and newer. Great location in town. Plenty of parking.
Review 93:That I was unable to find a pet friendly room for my dog. I also did not see any option to request a pet friendly room on my on-line registration.
Review 94:Love the great staff and room upgrade I received. I also liked that the staff attempted to find a pet friendly room for my dog.
Review 95:No hairdryer i had to ask the front desk to bring one..no breakfast, the coffee in the room only came with one creamer packet for a two cup service...unacceptable. this motel is in serious need of an update, quite dated.
Review 96:Could be cleaner, old coffee left in room pot. No liquid creamer for coffee, no tea, out of sugar one day! No blow dryer in room.
Review 97:Free wifi and good location Rates ok
Review 98:No hairdryer, most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept it, extremely slow internet.
Review 99:Excellent location, big fluffy towels, good price, good parking, very pet friendly and kind staff.
Review 100:Got stuck in the 40 year old building out back, not the new one shown in the pictures. And it's not like the hotel was full or anything. It's Seward in March for crying out loud.
Review 101:Didn't dislike anything really.. Just down for the night ... Was uneventf.. But the restaurant was closed.. No where to really eat breakfast..
Review 102:Off season price..
Review 103:The bed was super uncomfortable. You can hear a lot of noise in the morning (traffic, yelling, etc.)
Review 104:Good location right next to the water. Restaraunts in walking distance. Very pet friendly.
Review 105:No view and I thought there was according to pictures and location. I didn't realize it was a motel, my fault. I don't care for them due to safety reasons. The access to our room was down an alleyway.
Review 106:Location was great. We ended up in an older room with one full size bed. It was clean but beds noisy. There may be plastic under sheets. It does not have views of the harbor. You need to request the Harbor view suites. We entered our room for outdoors. Keep in mind this is a motel. Lobby was nice. The little cafe there had a good, reasonably priced breakfast.
Review 107:My first room was pretty noisy but they quickly moved me to a quieter area of the hotel.
Review 108:Front desk staff was outstanding. Restaurant and lounge had great food and friendly staff. The scratch biscuits and sausage gravy was outstanding. Burgers, sandwiches, and homemade soups were excellet as well.
Review 109:Instead of placing us in the newer nicer front section of the building- we were placed beyond the inner courts- had to walk outside of the nice part of the hotel to older rooms. Beds were covered with plastic sheets? Every time we turned it was loud and felt like a child's mattress covered for bed wetting.
Review 110:Upon entering- lobby was lovely. It was slow- not many people this time of year (late Oct). My husband had good childhood memories- over 30 years ago he used to stay, he said the room we stayed in looked exactly the same.
Review 111:the 1st room we got was not good, but staff worked with us and we got a much better room and they were very nice about the inconvenience.
Review 112:The motel was so close to everything we needed since we didn't have a car. views were amazing!
Review 113:The thermostadt was broken. I could not get the heat to turn off. I reported this to staff and they wrote a note for maintenance to review. We only stayed 2 nights and I reported it upon check out. So not sure of the outcome. Thanks.
Review 114:Convenient location to the harbor. Friendly staff. Bed was nice.
Review 115:Friendly, helpful staff. Large, open rooms. Mini fridge, tub, desk, and coffee maker come standard. The view was amazing (and we didn't have to pay extra for it like with other hotels)! We have stayed here twice now, once as a family and once as a couple, and we will definitely be back! Best value for your money.
Review 116:First impressions was not good. There was stains all over the carpet and it smelled bad, the bed was too springy when you sat down the whole bed moved, they have a coffee pot in the room but no creamer and their Internet was very slow.
Review 117:Location was good and plenty of hot water
Review 118:bathroom in need of update - toilet made some terrible noises
Review 119:beds were comfortable place was clean great location next to boat harbor fridge and tv were nice good laundry facility
Review 120:The old style Moen faucet & shower valves are nearly non functional & in need of replacement. The cartridges cost about nine dollars each & take 10 minutes or less to replace.
Review 121:Beds & staff.
Review 122:There is no aircondition and very noisy when open the window. Couldn't access wifi on the first day as our room is at the end of the building.
Review 123:Location is excellent, near waterfront and convenience store.
Review 124:Shuttle driver was great and took us wherever we wanted to go. Front desk staff was excellent. Motel was handy to restaurants and our ship. It was a very good motel--not the Ritz, but practical and provided needed amenities.
Review 125:so noisy because of the proximity of the main road. the building is not soundproofed, and the room was too hot even while the heating was off.
Review 126:parking facilities
Review 127:The Breeze Inn is like a drive up motor lodge with easy access to the marina. The amenities are simple, but if you only need a bed, TV and bathroom, it works out great. The room was clean and comfortable. Would suggest they get blow dryers for the rooms in the older section, but I was able to get one from the front desk.
Review 128:mattress plastic covers made it a bit uncomfortable during night. Stains in the toilet bowl.
Review 129:In front of the Kenai fjord cruise boats harbour. Internet available free of charge.
Review 130:Lobby computer did not have a printer so you could not print airline boarding passes. Restaurant associated with hotel actually ran out of food the first night we were there and the waiter send us across the street. Limited menu and very average food quality when we came for breakfast. Would not reccommend it.
Review 131:Hotel room was clean and spacious. Great view. Staff very helpful.
Review 132:WIFI did not work. Staff was confused by this and promised to call when fixed. Never did. I offered to help fix and they did not take my advice. FAIL
Review 133:Across the street from boat tours and many other amenities. Very clean and comfortable.
Review 134:Beds too soft; Wi-Fi not consistently available; no breakfast; no fitness center
Review 135:Convenient to Seward Harbor and Kenai Fjords Boat Tours; Affordable Price
Review 136:I didn't like being on the third floor and the desk girl made no efforts to accomodate me. Therefore, I had to park my car away from the room near the elevator to carry my luggage. She was also not very friendly in any way.
Review 137:The room was just comfortable.
Review 138:There was no microwave but there is a refrigerator. It would be nice to have both to heat up food for example.
Review 139:The convenience of being close to the harbor.
