Reviews for Kenny's Tipperary Inn
Review 1:All was excellent. We liked everything.
Review 2:Everyone we dealt with was very friendly. Location was Ideal. It was walking distance to some of the restaurants and other activities.
Review 3:Old, tube tv, away from bed at awkward angle, heat/ act unit stopped working late night, small bathroom, toilet paper holder broken, no room on sink for toiletries, pool gross.
Review 4:Omurphys pub next door
Review 5:The knobs kept falling off sinks in bathroom n shower the jacuzzi jets were broken there was no way to use the phone couldnt make calls no wifi password in room so couldnt use internet
Review 6:Clean comfy beds great room tv was great
Review 7:Reception staff could have been more courteous on phone when there was a mix up in the booking. It was straightened out but could have been a little more patient.
Review 8:The two bedroom apartments were nice for two couples. The maid service staff were friendly and responsive. Close to Gossman's Deli around the corner. O''murphy's restaurant shares parking lot.
Review 9:Room was not ready even after they told me it was. All outlets in room did not work. No toilet paper holder, it was just on top of water tank. Out-dated!!! A bit run-down.
Review 10:I was able to book it the night before. Quiet area.
Review 11:The apartment was dated, there were ants all over. The room was infested. The rooms were extremely noisy and it was impossible to sleep. Not enough toiletries.
Review 12:The restaurant in walking distance.
Review 13:We loved the friendly, helpful & accommodating staff (Jamie Beck, Miriam & all of her helpers & Leroy) & proximity of the motel to restaurants, shops,, various beaches, ferries, fishing boats & many points of interest.
Review 14:When we checked in , the reception area was messy and smelled moldy, which really was a sign of things to come, the young man at receptionwalked us to our room, Room 10, a Deluxe one bedroom apartment sort ofroom, and explained that the ac unit in the bedroom was out of servicebut that the one in the living room was enough to cool down the entirespace, we later realized this was not accurate, the living room , wheremy children slept, would get very cold and our bedroom would remain hotcausing all of us to be very uncomfortable. He also pointed at the stoveand told us that they had set up a more energy efficient electricportable stoves which was really code for the regular stove is broken ,the room had nothing deluxe about it, the windows and doors were tapedover with paper so there was no view outside whatsoever, the windowlever in the bedroom was broken and could not be opened , the showerlever in the shower was missing so it was not easy to control the coldand hot water, the bathroom was poorly light , the kitchen cabinetsdirty and broken, the mattresses very uncomfortable, wifi was weak, Icould go on with more complains ...the place was basically uncleaned, and poorly maintained, yet their prices are high, we paid over 800dollars for two nights with taxes included. I do not recommend thisplace , I have stayed in many places in the Hamptons and Montauk areathroughout the years , I am very familiar with the area and what isexpected in an average inn such this one but this is well below standardof anything I've ever seen.
Review 15:The door to the balcony did not lock which kinda spooked me I don't like sleeping with unlocked doors.
Review 16:I asked for and was granted a late checkout until 12:30 for which we complied. We than decided to stay and use the pool until 4 pm. I now asked if there was any place I could take a quick shower and the so kindly let me use a guest room to do that.
Review 17:Check out was 10am which I thought was super early, they didn't have a coffee maker, there was no sheet to tell you the wifi code, there was no breakfast, etc.
Review 18:The bed was nice.
Review 19:The staff are all excellent, friendly and professional with a lot of knowledge of the area..the room was clean and the bed was comfortable,me and Nino had a great time.dont go to o Murphy's restaurant really really bad food-
Review 20:Extra bed offered was a choice of an air mattress or just a mattress that looked like it belonged to a cot without actual frame.
Review 21:Staff was great! Very accommodating.
Review 22:black bathroom, shower temp changes cold hot cold, parking tight at night due to neighboring pub, TV in armoire and can only see.it from one bed
Review 23:Liked the pool, landscaping and size of room
Review 24:I booked a one bedroom apartment that was supposed to include a stove for coooking for my grandchildren & son. What I had was one big room with a sliding door .. no stove and 2 king size beds...no table to dine on either! The pool had no fliters , with cloudy water and bugs . Pets ( namely dogs) allowed...being an animal lover myself didn't appreciate swimming in a pool with dogs. Keep in mind...I've been going to Montauk every Summer since 1986.
Review 25:Staff was pleasant.
Review 26:Very friendly check-in, and went out of their way to have us ck in early. Room was fine. We were only there one night for a show in Amagansett so were many amenties we could not take advantage of, starting with a lovely pool area!
Review 27:The shower was incredibly poor. The hot water would turn cold at random. The beds were too soft for us and it seemed like the carpet was not properly vacuumed. Also, how in today's age can a motel/hotel not have a flat screen tv.
Review 28:Location was convenient.
Review 29:The owner was a bit off. He would be talking on his bluetooth, either in a towel or with his shirt off, when a customer would be standing right in front of him in the lobby and ignore them. The apartment had ants which was remedied by giving me a can of Raid to spray. The kitchen is missing a lot of equipment. A good example was the hotel style coffee maker that hadn't been cleaned and had no filters to use.
Review 30:The staff were great. They were welcoming and accommodating to the point that I dubbed thd place "The Best Exotic Kerrygold Hotel". They were constantly making the place work. The bed was comfortable.
Review 31:Great location right near Gosman's Docks and our room was very big so lots of space. Pool was a great facility and the beds were very comfortable which is important as i have chronic back pain. The only issue was the room had carpet and was a little damp around the air conditioning unit. But, I would stay there again.
Review 32:The check in was a littlr late compared to most montauk hotels that allow you to check in at 2
Review 33:Awesome beds and room was very big! Great location by the harbor too!
Review 34:the ac could have been better don't think it was working properly, bathroom could have been a little nicer at least have a hook or additional towel holders
Review 35:the cost was affordable & liked location, having a pool which was clean was a bonus
Review 36:The rooms are dark and older. Absolutely no room for toiletries near sink, no tissues, chiclet size soap, no ice and unknowledgeable staff.
Review 37:Location was good although not near beach.
Review 38:Upon reviewing bill we were charged approx. $275(23.5%)in tax and service fees on a $1158 stay. Upon inquiring we were told that the $275 included fees for cleaning room. After insisting on talking to a manager it was determined that we were taxed twice the appropriate amount (11.625%). Refunded $136. Manager never even came out to apologize. In addition, construction on-going at motel, starts at 8:30 AM right outside our bedroom window. Not acceptable when paying nearly $500/night. No water pressure in shower, sheets had unknown stains on them.
Review 39:Location is excellent.
Review 40:they do issue $100 tickets for having dgos on the beach from 10-6...
Review 41:right next to the northern marinas, tipperary is dog friendy and we enjoyed all of Montauk for the week!
Review 42:For how much we paid, the place was just ok. Everything was very dated and even though it was after Memorial Day the pool wasn't filled.
Review 43:Location was great, Montauk is a quaint town with local shops and restaurants. It was dog friendly which was great as we had my husband's police dog with us. We ended up getting in very late and the owners were extremely accommodating.
Review 44:None
Review 45:Quiet and away from busy tourist areas No children (at least during our stay) Friendly and helpful staff Clean and comfortable room Private balcony Ample parking Number code for door (no need to carry around card locks) 5 minute walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops Allowed for early check-in
Review 46:Room was dingy, sheets and pillows had yellow stains on them and the television/ cable box in the room didn't work. A/C did not blow cold air and the ceiling fan was noisy and wobbly. We payed a LOT of money to stay here for a night and had staff knocking on the door at 9:30am (checkout was not til 10am) asking us to leave the room so it could be cleaned.
Review 47:It was fine for a one-night stay and though we didn't use it, the pool area looked nice. Convenient location.
Review 48:They could update the TV's and renovate the bathrooms. The restaurant was not open due to renovations and there was no place to get coffee or tea in the morning except for the deli around the corner.
Review 49:Loved being greeted by Jamie. He was a great host from start to finish. The room was nice and clean. The bedding was extremely comfy. Liked that you could walk to the marina for a drink or to eat.
Review 50:I pedeled a $2000 bike 75 miles to stay over. Great place but I was never told until I got there there is a No bicycles in the room policy. Must leave outside. No good
Review 51:No view. Windows covered with privacy sheeting/covering. Can't see out. Expensive for what you get High pet fee Location farther from town, far from beach. Can't really walk to anything except Gosman's dock. Our room was an updated (overpriced) motel room with a kitchen area and one closed off bedroom. I think there are better places in the area to stay. But if you need a pet room, this is one of only two hotels in Montauk that accept a pet. Lack of communication, no one answered the voicemails I left.
Review 52:comfortable mattress updated rooms
Review 53:there was nothing I did not like about this inn.
Review 54:I loved everything about this place was very friendly staff and quick to get anything we needed. Very clean large rooms and great value. would definitely recommend to all my family and friends. Very peaceful grounds and loved everything about staying there.
Review 55:It's not what I remember. Going to the east end since I was a little girl, Kenny's got a bad rap... All grown up and decided to try it, brought my 7yr old son and had a terrific stay! Clean updated room & pool, fantastic fishing & boating right there and amazing sunsets. My little one loves Cullodeon beach and this Momtauk mom loves the peace and quiet of the sound. Watching the boats go by is our happiness. All of Montauk is accessible from Kenny's! We highly recommend. Thanks again Eddie and Staff!
Review 56:My family and I stayed there just after Labor Day and we had a great time. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which also had a full kitchen, and a living room with a huge flat screen TV. The apartment was squeaky clean, and the staff was excellent. Jamie was extremely friendly and went out of his way to attend to everything we needed. The Inn sits in the same parking lot with Manucci's Italian restaurant, (which has terrific food), and is also walking distance to the various Marina's and Gosman's Dock/Restaurant/shopping. We will definitely return again next season.
Review 57:The office closes early so if you need anything you have to call a number. Also the air conditioning and heat were in the living room so the bedrooms got warm.
Review 58:The room was clean and recently renovated. We were quite comfortable for 6 of us in the 2 bedroom unit. We brought a blow up bed with us. They provided sheets, blankets, pillows and towels upon request. I would stay there again.
Review 59:I would have liked a view out of the room . The windows were curtained and opaque glass .
Review 60:Great situation . Clean . Jamie very helpful as was the young man who assisted . Was his name Nico ?
Review 61:The Inn is currently being renovated. Some of the rooms (we stayed in one of them) are fairly old (old bathrooms, old tube TV). It's quite far from the beach (but close to a marina).
Review 62:Friendly and helpful staff, rather large rooms, several restaurant options within walking distance. Good value for money but nothing special.
Review 63:When we arrived, a strange british staff member told us it was ladies' night at the sloppy tuna, which seemed mildly strange at the time, and kind of gross in reflection as the night wore on.
Review 64:We were quite desperate and last minute with our booking, so I expected to be ripped off, but Kennys was clean, so comfortable with lovely plush white beds and garden surrounds. Had a great sleep and a nice strong hot shower.
Review 65:The cost for 2 nights of $500+. It was under construction for much needed updates. Light bulb missing over the sink and bathroom fan broken and light exposed. Faucet was loose in bathtub For that amount of $s we could have drove to the poconos and have breakfast and dinner included for same price.
Review 66:It was in the heart of Montauk Harbor and in walking distance of many business's. Enjoyed the deck and could get a glimpse of the Montauk Basin. Great music was playing one night as we sat and listened. My husband enjoyed the pool. King size bed was comfortable. Room was clean but carpet was dirty and the doors stuck at times
Review 67:Staff was very attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable of the area and attractions. We were attending a wedding and this location was very convenient to the wedding venue.
Review 68:no coffee machine
Review 69:Staff and owner were extremely hospitable. My schnauzer Charlie and I highly exceptional week. I highly recommend This motel. The restaurant on the property was wonderful. Elsie the watch dog kept us all safe. Thank You Jamie and Eddie, see you again next year. M Meehan
Review 70:Old and very tired facility. Bathroom very poor. Décor in urgent need of repair and a make-over and thorough clean-up. In terms of a customer/guest perspective, this is a very dated and relatively run-down motel which charges top dollar, but doesn't deliver. OK in a pinch.
Review 71:Staff were pleasant and helpful. Also, location is good. Bed quite comfortable.
Review 72:- not very clean - they changed the bed but everything else in the room was dusty - we were given a handicapped bathroom that was poorly design, shower was essentially just a curtain with no separation between shower and toilet. Water flooded everywhere - loud - we could hear the people walking above us all night
Review 73:- They are pet friendly
Review 74:The deplorable condition of the motel, inside and out. Paint peeling, wood decks cracking, broken fixtures and appliances. We had a 5 bladed ceiling fan/light in our room, that had 4 blades. The missing blade was gone for a long time, remaining blades bent, and fan dirty. Work was being done on the exterior paint, but one's business should not be allowed to get to the condition this motel is in before repair work is done. a complete renovation, inside & out is necessary.
Review 75:The reason I was there - High School reunion.
Review 76:There were ants in the bathroom sink and on one night stand. The tub was in horrible condition. Was not very clean. The outside was in ill repair with rotting wood in different places. Carpet was frayed and dingy and dirty in places.
Review 77:bed okay
Review 78:Poor lighting in bedroom and bathroom, one picture on the wall in whole place; no hair dryer in room, no towel hook or clothes hook in bathroom, no soap dish in shower, toilet paper holder broken, drawer handles loose, one missing, no breakfast served, which is stated before you book, one of the two tvs in bedroom did not work, which the receptionist told us didn't work when he showed us the room, but we thought both tv in the living room and bedroom would work since we paid for a suite and it said it had two tv's; dirty sponge in kitchen, no dish detergent; dishwasher was not emptied for us, big hole in parking lot for back rooms; very annoying in and out; like a sink hole.
Review 79:Cleanliness, crisp sheets, close to town, receptionist goes out of his way to help, comfortable bed, good water pressure, easy to find.
Review 80:It's a pet friendly hotel but you can't leave your pet in the room alone and they're not allowed in the pool area. First time that's ever been an issue and we travel with our dog a lot. Wifi is available but yiu have to ask for it. Room was shabby. Pretty pushy about giving reviews on the way out too.
Review 81:Location is great. There's a local bar a short walk from the hotel where you can bring your dog and sit outside.
Review 82:I really like the staff they were very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I like the accommodations and the atmosphere was delightful! I highly recommend it
Review 83:no ice machines....
Review 84:location was good for us, we walked where we wanted to go. good choice of restaurants in the immediate area. small semi private beach close to the Inn.
Review 85:The sink made a strange noise while using hot water
Review 86:The concierge was very warm and friendly. The beds were extremely comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised we had our own balcony and the pool was beautiful.
Review 87:Kenny, the owner is a very friendly and nice to chat with. Jeramy is also excellent person who took care of us. All of Kenny's staff are very nice! Room is very comfortable to sleep!
Review 88:Small bathroom. No ice maker or ice machine . Only window is a curtained doorway. Also complimentary coffee in office or maker in room would be nice touch.
Review 89:Quiet room. Very pleasant staff. Lovely grounds. Convenient location in Montauk.
Review 90:This stay was for a special occasion and the poor quality basically buta damper on it. Do not trust the good reviews on other popular websites. The place was kind of a dump for the money. There were flies and gnatseverywhere that seemed to appear out of thin air in our room. If yourequire darkness to sleep then don't book here because the roomshave 2 windowed doors with a thin shade. The hallway lights on theoutside light up the room at night which only gets worse when the suncomes up at 6am. Our tv didn't work at first, and it took the ownerabout 20mins to figure out how to reconfigure the settings so that itdid finally work. He then noticed a stain on one of the leather chairs, and proceeded to get it off by licking his hand and wiping it.Unbelievable. The place is also very noisy, as our room was right nextto the lobby/office. The thin walls didn't block out the noise.Cleanliness was also an issue, as the floor was poorly vaccuumed atbest. The room wasn't cleaned until 3pm each day and on one day Ihad to remind the staff to do it at 4:30. Also - this place is rightnext to Minucci's restaurant and shares parking. If you leave in theevening, plan on not being able to park there until after 11pm when therestaurant closes. Upon checking out, the staff didn't even ask usif we enjoyed our stay.
Review 91:Free wifi; staff was knowledgeable about where to go/stay. Freebeach passes.
Review 92:Manager was rude. I am 50 year old mother of 4 with 2 professional degrees. Ive been going to Montauk for 20 years. I've never had a complaint with any of the hotels in Monauk until now. Manager was rude during stay. Also, I was never given a beach pass at check in and after I checked out after checking with the front desk that everything was in order, I was called on the phone and was threatened with a $500 charge for not returning the beach pass I never received.
Review 93:Getting woken up both nights at 3:30 - 4 am by repeated banging and yelling (first night) and screaming from pool (second night) No night manager on site. (On the phone they said they have two -- where were they?) No apology, no returned phone call. It's not the place or the staff that are the problem; it's that there was no-one to let a drunk, locked-out guest into his room!!! No-one the following night to kick youngsters out of the pool at nearly 4 am who were yelling and screaming to each other! Really?
Review 94:Comfortable bed, nice pool.
Review 95:There was nothing I didn't like about it. Great location walking distance to fit our needs.
Review 96:Eddie, Jamie, and Nico were the most informative, and nicest people to talk to. Very easygoing and funny. They welcomed my sister and I with opened arms. The room was wonderful, cleaning staff great. I will definitely go back again. So nice to go away with no headaches!
Review 97:Ive been to Montauk many times stayed at several locations we know the the top of the line "locations" sometimes take your money and don't want to know you Kennys Tipperary Inn cares about their guests they go out of their way to accommodate you w what ever request you have I want to say Thank You to Jamie Neko Eddie I recommend their place and will always check availability when going to Montauk
Review 98:We were totally satisfied and have no negative comments.
Review 99:The location, The availability of the Pool. The Information provided by the Staff and the overall value in comparison to other facilities.
Review 100:Leaving
Review 101:Staff, particularly Jamie, was very attentive to our needs. We were the larger group with adding requests and air-conditioning requests that were met immediately. More than cordial, extremely informative, and just plain friendly. Great place, I would recommend to anyone staying in Montauk
Review 102:the shower/ rusty water / not a disaster but should be checked by the inn: charge for dog a bit high
Review 103:close beaches and to fishing :cute room - liked dog friendly
Review 104:Always happy with the Tipperary
Review 105:The inkeeper Jamie was personable his service exceeded my expectations: due to inclement weather I wanted to extend my stay. The inn had no vacancy, Jamie called 6 to 8 inns to get us a room! Service Service, he got us a room. Nico helped us with our bags and the houskeeper was great. Convenient location to restaurants, walking 5 mins to beach, do not have to take car, linens very clean felt like home.
Review 106:Very close to gosmans dock, totally walkable. The staff is very friendly, Jamie is a great manager and has great recommendations. They are really turning the place around, for the money and location, it's definitely a great place to stay. Will stay there again
Review 107:It was very clean and also next to the restaurant.
Review 108:Friendly, easy going staff, love the location, restaurant, bar on premise. Dog friendly!
Review 109:That I couldn't stay longer!!
Review 110:Eddie was very friendly.
Review 111:Excellent service
Review 112:Jamie at the front desk was extremely helpful. He let us know about the restaurants near the hotel and also let us know how to get to the lighthouse.
Review 113:The sheets were stained which is totally unacceptable.
Review 114:Check in took a very long time as each guest had to be escorted to the room to have an entry code set up for the door.
Review 115:Clean and comfortable.
Review 116:No coffee in the morning
Review 117:You can walk to charter fishing. The Famous Murphy's Pub is right there.
Review 118:The friendly staff
Review 119:Personal very kindly
Review 120:Clean quiet
Review 121:Filthy dark 2 bedroom apartment; completely over priced. Never recommend to others
Review 122:Location
Review 123:Staff were so friendly and really to an interest in how our trip was going. The room we had was very spacious.
Review 124:Near seafood festival, very friendly staff
