Reviews for Napa River Inn
Review 1:Only one small disappointment, we did not know we were not staying in the main hotel! Just across the parking lot is another old building with rooms and that is where we were sent. It was difficult to understand where our room was located and so we returned to reception to ask for further directions.
Review 2:The location of this hotel is wonderful; close to many restaurants and shopping. We love Starbucks and that was a nice walk in the morning to get our coffee. Pretty town on the river. The room was cozy with a fireplace but large enough as a queen room. Breakfast was served in a quaint bakery, next door to the main hotel. A voucher is given for a good choice of a light breakfast. Pastry, juice or tea/coffee and either yogurt and fruit, or quiche or egg breakfast sandwich. Limited seating but it was friendly and organized.
Review 3:My requests for early arrival and location of our room were fulfilled. The valet service took us exactly where we wanted to go and picked us up promptly. Fabulous service! Food at Angele and Celadon was great!
Review 4:Location was great, right in town within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. The river walk is beautiful. Only stayed for two nights but there were a couple restaurants and live music on property that we did not have time to experience but looked amazing.
Review 5:Only downside to the room was the small bathroom area.
Review 6:Loved the fireplace in the room and the small details, like receiving a plate of chocolate covered strawberries after letting the staff know it was my birthday. Breakfast delivered to your room in the morning was also amazing!
Review 7:The bathroom is outdated. The room was dark. One of the closing mechanisms on a closet broke when we opened the closet door. The window curtain was tied in a knot so that the curtain wouldn't close. This place needs an update.
Review 8:I think it was a bit expensive but this is more of a Napa Valley issue. The swimming pool was missing.
Review 9:The location is great and the room was clean and nice. I liked the breakfast in the bakery too.
Review 10:-nothing really - a little pricey, but in line with the season and other Napa properties
Review 11:-loved the location and the small comforts - Keurig in the room, chocolates at night, small backyard patio - great breakfast and gluten free choices for my husband who is a celiac
Review 12:I was unhappy that we didn't get a view. The carpet was stained. I received an email letting me know that the carpet stains were cleaned after our stay.
Review 13:Location and staff were great.
Review 14:Rooms are in separate building annexes.
Review 15:The hotel provides bicycles for guests. Breakfast in bed service included and delivered to your room through a local bakery.
Review 16:The views were a metallic roof of a crowded restaurant, so there was a lot of noise and food smell in the room. There was no sun light inside the room and the furniture had nothing to do with the wounderful photos on internet. No swimming pool, no breakfast in the hotel, nothing interesting. Much much better hotels in Nappa valley than this one.
Review 17:Nothing
Review 18:Great location and a great room after we moved. The staff was super accommodating. Stay in the historic deluxe rooms and don't stay in the plaza or embarcadero rooms unless you like small and outdated. The breakfast is good and it is compliments of the hotel. They deliver it to you room.
Review 19:Those scones. Too dry and raisin filled. Not my fav, but the fruit cup and yogurt was great.
Review 20:We loved being centrally located and able to stroll to other destinations for lunch and dinner. We were only there for two days following a San Francisco business trip, but it was a great getaway for this couple.
Review 21:The price changed during booking.. By $80 right as I was getting ready to pay.
Review 22:Location is awesome, close to restaurants and shops. The room was on the small side, but very cute and clean. Nice breakfast room service.
Review 23:Coffee weak and cold in the AM, eggs cold too. Uninteresting choices for breakfast. View obstructed by terrace and not as expected. Wasn't told about free winery opportunities until leaving!
Review 24:Great location, nice staff.
Review 25:We had a standard room on the first floor. The ice machine could be heard through the wall. Guests could enter the hotel from the patio through the exterior, which was right next to our windows, not private. The breakfast was just average selections, scone or Danish, egg sandwich or yogurt parfait or oatmeal, coffee or juice.
Review 26:Renovated historic mill on the Napa River, right in town, lots of restaurants within walking distance. The staff delivering the breakfast was sweet and offered advice on wineries when he asked what we planned to do. Room was nicely decorated, but the wood paneling made it dark, being a 1st floor room. The bed was comfortable but because of room location being near the noisy ice machine, and guests sitting on the patio or walking through one of the exterior doors, I didn't rate it as high.
Review 27:The breakfast menu was small but the food was very good.
Review 28:The Hotel was in a perfect location. The room and beds were very comfortable and the room and bathroom was super clean. Very friendly staff.
Review 29:Not worth the price. Things were broken and getting the room cleaned was difficult so we didn't get it cleaned the whole time we were there! Lighting in the room was poor.
Review 30:Location
Review 31:Could hear people walking on the floor above us. Breakfast selections are a bit limited.
Review 32:The setting was lovely and there were a couple of good restaurants within easy walking distance. Proximity to wineries was good.
Review 33:The bed keeps moving everytime my husband changed position!do somethingabout it.I Asked for a mountain view. We were placed in betweenbuildings without a view. Sad!!!!
Review 34:I like the decor, excellent service, location, and breskfast in bed.we hada wonderful stay.already recommendef it to my friend!
Review 35:We weren't offered the complimentary wine at check in. We heard about it after the fact.
Review 36:Location, we parked the car and didn't have to move it during our stay, we could to walk to everything.
Review 37:The carpet in the Enbarcadero Building should be changed or cleaned more regularly. Had an old stench.
Review 38:Service upon arrival through departure. Shuttle around town, breakfast was great every morning. Had cable HBO channels. Location: within walking distance to Resturant Turn down service. Attended to my every need, including having Zantac on hand heartburn.
Review 39:Housekeeping very slow to service rooms. Maintenance problems in rooms required two conversations with front desk before maintenance man was sent to room. Serious issues with noise from outside (garbage collection at 6:40 am and A/C location in room) Room on top floor and ceiling vibrated probably from A/C unit for common areas of building or from elevator.
Review 40:Location and surrounding area
Review 41:If you are a tourist, rather find a place in Yountville, this place was totally overpriced. Also stayed in a room that was really dark and dingy (not at all like the pictures). Woke up to the sound of the garbage truck beeping every morning.
Review 42:Napa River Inn is wonderfully located - excellent restaurants and shopping nearby, amazing staff. The daily breakfast delivery was such a nice touch and necessary before a day of wine tasting. We were so pleased with our stay - we will book again next year for sure!
Review 43:Fairly expensive but then you get what you pay for so worth the money.
Review 44:The location right in the heart of downtown Napa and walking distance to the wine train was superb. The facilities were top quality, friendly, helpful staff, comfortable room with a view over the river. Free WiFi in the room and free parking were good extras that not all hotels in this class will supply.
Review 45:Breakfast was ok- nothing amazing!
Review 46:We got given a detailed map to drive around wineries by lady at front desk (can't remember her name). She made me a trip through google maps and we absolutely loved every stop- please pass this on!
Review 47:The hotel rooms maintained the historic feel of the city. Conveniently located next to a bakery, shops, and restaurants the location is perfect. As an added bonus, there is the Napa River Trail that is just a couple blocks from the hotel where you can run, walk or bike along the river.
Review 48:Our room overlooked the parking lot and it was rather small, so they moved us to a river view and a larger room, was really nice, and a lot quieter. Thanks.
Review 49:The whole experience was really nice. Staff was great and rooms were very nice. Really enjoyed our stay. Thanks
Review 50:The bed was not as comfortable
Review 51:Larie Gordon, the concierge at the hotel, was a lot of help planning this trip; reservations at wineries, great recomendations for restaurants and places to go visit, and most important, she always made herself available to us.
Review 52:Room was in the Embarcadero building instead of on the river as expected. Nice big room but a bit noisy to be so close to parking lot/walkway on the street level
Review 53:Very comfortable, great mid-week deal, awesome location
Review 54:Light outside our room was on all night...suggest black out shades on the winows..although the hotel was not full we were given a room next to the boiler room, the pump went off ALL night long...the bathroom is VERY small, sink is in the room with no place to hang a towel or put a wash bag...The breakfast we ate in the coffe shop versus the choice of our room...very poor quality orange juice was not fresh squeezed, coffee was tasteless and the pastries were of grocery store quality..and although we were told breakfast was part of the room price we were charged for it...so now we have to call the hotel.
Review 55:The bed although small was very comfortable and the sheets and towels were good quality.
Review 56:No jacuzzi. Fireplace stopped working although staff fixed promptly. Not enough lighting by desk. Pillows too soft.
Review 57:The location was great for walking to dinners and around town. Staff was accommodating .
Review 58:The rooms were a bit dated in the other building. Maybe the Inn could have a complimentary shuttle to select wineries and local tasting rooms.
Review 59:The location was great for downtown Napa--many tasting rooms and restaurants close. Historic feel to the Inn's main building.
Review 60:We had a king bed, my husband and daughter liked it. I didn't feel it comfortable. It was too firm for me. But I'm very picky about beds and pillows.
Review 61:Location, right in Downtown Friendly staff Fireplace Breakfast Balcony facing the river
Review 62:Not too keen on breakfast but good experience. Would be nice to have selection of lesser sweet pastries and more of fruits and yogurt.
Review 63:Nice to stay in a historical building and so well kept. The location is fantastic.
Review 64:Our stay was excellent. Demarco showed us to our room and took the time to acquaint us with all its amenities. Loved the location. It is within walking distance to great restaurants and entertainment. Very nice room and comfortable bed. Good breakfast delivered to our room. Nice touch to be greeted at check in with wine. Will stay there again.
Review 65:The town of Napa is more booze oriented than a good mix of shopping, tasting. It does not add to the Inn.
Review 66:The Inn is an oasis of calm and good taste. I enjoyed one of the best massages I have ever had. Several first class restaurants are a mere stone's throw. The AM breakfast buns are simply to die for! A real treat.
Review 67:The air conditioner and mini fridge were a little loud for sleeping. I did have earplugs which helped a great deal.
Review 68:Breakfast included, delicious, and delivered to our room every morning! Loved being on the river. Only a 2-4 min. Walk to a handful of great restraunts...Celedon was delicious! Everyone was very friendly and quick to accommodate! Loved the fireplace for ambiance!
Review 69:Perfect location. Could walk to everything. Great , attentive staff. Breakfast was special. Enjoyed Silo music concert. Napa Valley Info Center was nearby and helpful.
Review 70:Everything is quality here. We stayed in the historic Hatt building which is the main building and it was fantastic, so luxurious! Breakfast delivered to your room is included in the price!
Review 71:4 PM check in after I had arrived at 1318 from travelling all day since 4 AM. They made me wait till 345 before I could check in. Room was cluttered with way too much furniture for the size of the room. A/C sounded like a jet engine when it turn on, couldn't even hear the TV, as for when sleeping, very, very noisy. Included breakfast was very average, except for the scone, grapefruit juice was not fresh, already fermenting, all fruits very unripe and green. For the price of the hotel, $400 a night, way over valued, had a reservation for the following evening but decided not to stay. Too painful.
Review 72:My scone at breakfast was the highlight of my stay there.
Review 73:Very thin walls !! Somewhat strange breakfast concept, as breakfast (included in room rate) was offered as room service only, or should be taken in a cafe nearby, as the hotel does not have a restaurant, - not even for breakfast. Staff in the cafe, however, was very nice.
Review 74:Very nice location near the river and close to some great restaurants.
Review 75:The walls are very thin. You can hear everything if there is a guest in the room next door.
Review 76:My sweetheart and I enjoyed an amazing stay at this perfectly situated property facing the river. Such an elegant and comfortable room, with delicious breakfast included. The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. We highly recommend the Napa River Inn!!
Review 77:We went out early and placed a make up room sign outside door. We came back in the afternoon and the room was still unmade. We tried calling houskeeping.but no one was answering.
Review 78:Location is great
Review 79:Location! Location! Location! Everything so close ! Upon arrival we were greeted with glass of wine! Nice coffee in the lobby and in the room too! Nice restaurants nearby ! Breakfast in the room very good quality ! Deffenetly would love to come back!
Review 80:The river looked smelly. Not pleasant to look at. We had mosquitos right outside our room, so we couldn't sit out. The outside area was very dark and damp anyway, so not an option
Review 81:The food in the restaurant was excellent.
Review 82:the first room given to us was on the 2nd floor near Celadon restaurant and could hear noise from the restaurant
Review 83:the staff were very helpful complaint about the first room given to us due to noise was rectified right away by giving us another room, Heather from front desk was very helpful
Review 84:Tub could be bigger (for two).
Review 85:Excellent breakfast in the morning, staff tidying up our room and getting our bed ready in the evenings, shampoo & conditioner in shower, double shower heads, robes, tub, king bed, wi-fi, coffee and fridge in room, wine at check-in, helpful staff.
Review 86:Historic, warm, quaint.
Review 87:Everything was amazing. From checking in all the way through breakfast in the room and checking out. Best experience in a hotel in the US!!!
Review 88:There is no on site kitchen or restaurant.
Review 89:Room was very homely and comfortable.
Review 90:Great down-town location Comfortable rooms River front Good value
Review 91:Extremely dated interior. Dark room. No rate reduction for lower quality room.
Review 92:Everyone on staff were willing to answer any questions about the area.
Review 93:The ambience was great. Walking distance to downtown and there's a shuttle.
Review 94:view directly into parking lot
Review 95:large comfortable room, breakfast in room included
Review 96:Breakfast process little confuse. "River view" does not justify rate.
