Review 1：The room was small/cramped, I was supposed to get 25.00 credit since the room I booked wasn't available but I didn't. TV reception was bad

Review 3：The Hotel was undergoing a full renovation and was in a complete mess. It would have been nice to have been told this during the booking process because I would not have stayed. Very disappointing.

Review 5：The place was in total renovation. Everything was dirty, loud and totally unacceptable. The staff worked with us and returned a small refund when the cable also went out (can't control mother nature) but this didn't begin to make up for the mess of a hotel that should never have been open to reservations in the condition it was in.

Review 7：i just want to give an honest review. Don't go there right now! They are doing a big renovation and the 2nd and 3rd floors were closed due to the renovation. I was given a room on the 5th floor and I am claustrophobic so I don't do elevators . The stairs were marked do not use from each floor but you could enter the stair way from the lobby and kind of push your way through the door onto the floor. Never was able to access my room on the 5th floor. I ended up going to the holiday inn ... Maybe it will be nice after the renovation...

Review 8：The location was about the only thing I liked!

Review 9：The hotel is under construction - which is not noted at all on their website. The hotel is a wreck right now and certainly not worth the money. Customers should have a fair warning. The room and bathroom are pretty tight. The beds are very uncomfortable - I was awake all night long. When I called to ask about the beds, the front desk clerk was less than friendly. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in at VA Beach!

They were even able to handle an out of the ordinary request (medical need). One of the staff--Don--rescued my cell phone after it fell off our balcony into the bushes. And staff member David found a doorstop for us (because the doors were very sturdy/heavy for our Mom to use with her rollator).

I would not have stayed based on how the lobby area looks. It is industrial and cheap looking. This area could use a warm inviting make over.

Review 62：The decor is pitiful. Hotel lobby looks like it is being renovated but it is not. Hotel room balcony doors are not sliding glass so you can catch the ocean breezes, it is a hinged heavy door and windows don't open, Ice machine down the hall was making very loud noise all night long. Breakfast was a free buffet so not going to get best breakfast, but to have to sit at a plastic folding table to eat breakfast was shameful.

Review 64：The thermostat had a very bright blue blacklight that was too bright at night. Blackout curtains didn't quite cover the whole window - a lot of light came in around the bottom and side edges.

I witnessed them speaking in loud voices from one end of the hall to the other at an early hour in the morning, the walkways echoed and only added to the problem. My recommendation is add sound deafening wall art. And instruct housekeeping staff to keep voices low...people like to sleep.

Review 83：The rooms were small. The elevators were slow. One always seemed to be broken. The onsite restaurant, Fish Bones was terrible. The "seafood buffet" was 31.00 per person. There was not much selection and the food was really not good. The free breakfast buffet was the same thing every morning. They couldn't keep up with the crowds on Saturday and Sunday. Food was also not very good. Don't waste your money on Fish Bones.

Review 84：Great location at 13th street and Atlantic Ave. This area had less people on the beach over the 4th of July weekend. The fireworks were at 20th street. We saw a great show from our balcony. The rooms were clean and the AC worked in the rooms and hallways.

Review 85：did not explaind me the time of book out, did not recived a copy of the book out document did not told me that my key cards where desconected even knowing I was going to my room 805 before leaving the room they were rushing me and my family to get out the room it was an unpleasant experience staying in this hotel.

For a hotel that geared to families with children, the hotel needs to come up with a way of making their hotel more economical. The attendant pushed buttons to refill and said I could get another cup. That one was also horrible and so tried again. It was better but still had grounds in it. Review 132：The elevators are fairly slow working. (but there are two of them). They were noticeably alittle worse for wear. The parking ramp from ground level to second floor is steep and requires some caution in driving either up or down. (I didn't have a kitchen in my room and the good rating I gave it is just a stand-in for N/A which wasn't a choice). If they mean microwave and refrigerator, these were typical and fine.

Review 133：Rooms clearly have been upgraded in the recent past, so there's a freshness to the furnishings, which includes a water saving toilet that was impressive. The view off the balcony is excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The wi-fi worked reliably well. The breakfast was typical of hotels that have self service, That said, this seemed on the high end of that kind of arrangement i.e. good selection and enjoyable. A very pleasant person staffing the food prep and replentishment. Free parking. The pool on the 5th floor looked inviting and in very good condition. Since I was visiting in November with low occupancy, hard to tell how soundproof the rooms are.
