Reviews for Briar Rose Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:Our room was a bit cold and we needed to pull out the portable space heater.
Review 2:Excellent staff; very welcoming and responsive. The B&B has a really cool vibe. We will certainly return!
Review 3:I was reading in the living room before breakfast but had to stop as I was joined by the owner and other members of his Buddhist retreat group. They had their meeting while my husband and I ate. Maybe they could meet someplace else? At a later time?
Review 4:Nice rooms and breakfast. Great location.
Review 5:It's in a great location, there is free parking onsite, they will bring tea right to your room, and breakfast is delicious/filling/individualized. You won't regret staying here.
Review 6:I loved the eco-friendly aspect of this B&B. I went right to Whole Foods after my stay to buy some of the products they had in the bathroom. The breakfast was fabulous and the overall atmosphere was very homey. I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend Briar Rose to anyone staying in Boulder. Also, it was about a $6 UBER ride to the center of town.
Review 7:I liked staying here very much, and would recommend it, but it may not be for every traveler. Our room, though clean and very pleasant, didn't feel very private (you could hear anything happening outside, and it had a big gap under the door). Communal breakfast -- which was very lovely -- may not be for everyone, esp. early in the morning. So I think some would love it, and others might prefer a more standard hotel.
Review 8:Very helpful staff -- a group of genuinely friendly young people who were eager to help with any inquiry. A unique and beautiful space, very warm atmosphere (aesthetically), lovely grounds clearly influenced by the Zen meditation center on the property. The full breakfast we were served was incredibly delicious -- they could definitely open a restaurant with that food, although it does take time for them to prepare. Even the layout of the table was beautiful.
Review 9:The staff were friendly, and guests are encouraged to make themselves at home. The room was cosy and the bed incredibly comfortable. I loved the vegetarian breakfast, and the fact that the toiletries in the bathroom were cruelty-free! Plus, tea, coffee and home-baked goods were always available.
Review 10:We loved the Briar Rose, and appreciated the fee includes breakfast. However, they need some help in the cooking department. The French toast was soggy, the scambled eggs over done and badly seasoned. The baked pumpkin bread was excellent. Instructions from a professional chef would help, and they could simplify their offerings.
Review 11:I appreciated the helpfulness of the staff. They served us tea & cookies in the afternoon, solved a problem with my iPhone, fixed broken eye glasses, and were always friendly. We loved sitting in the garden, and one of our party went to the Zendo for the morning sit. However, their pluses vastly outweigh this one minus, with their reasonable price, excellent location, I would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to others.
Review 12:No gluten free options for bread or cereal. French Toast was the featured breakfast item on my visit but the staff did prepare a veggie scramble which was quite good. Spotty attention for refilling water and coffee. No towels in our bedroom upon arrival
Review 13:Location and quaintness of property. Leaving a key and instructions since we had a late arrival due to flights.
Review 14:I came to Boulder to attend college at CU, and my mom came to help me. We needed a place to temporarily stay in until I got settled into my dorm, and so we chose Briar Rose. The atmosphere was perfect and breakfast was awesome!
Review 15:The only thing was on the final night there were some partying college students next door to the B&B and we had to close our windows (and forego the pleasant, night breeze) in order to drown them out and get some sleep. This was not the B&B's fault but more a product of the fact that we had our stay over move-in week for CU. But, since the B&B is located in the middle of everything, this by-product was unavoidable.
Review 16:The Briar Rose is a gem in the middle of the city. It has a retreat, relaxed feel but within walking distance of downtown. It does not feel like it is on a busy street. The staff is lovely and helpful, the property quaint and the gardens relaxing. The room had all the amenities we wanted but with a personal touch. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Boulder.
