Reviews for Millennium Harvest House Boulder
Review 1:Bad room in older section, amenities were horrible, got moved to another room, better but still wasn't what I expected. Toilet plugged up. Not happy that there isn't a complementary breakfast or Wi-Fi. Stayed here before and had a nice experience but this one was really bad. Probably won't stay here again.
Review 2:The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. In the summer the walking path is very nice.
Review 3:Great location for nightlife! The front desk person was super nice and gave us opinions of were to go out that night. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable.
Review 4:I was charged for staying two nights when I only stayed one and its been a big pain trying to get my money back...I'm still waiting. Also the coffee pot did not work
Review 5:The lady at the front desk was really cool and helpful.
Review 6:Bedroom has cottage cheese ceiling. Not enough plugs to charge electronic devices. Hotel not responsible for items....anything...in your room during your stay.
Review 7:Room service breakfast was always good and the service excellent. Fitness room and pool also good.
Review 8:No room WiFi and having to pay to print out flight pass. The bar is not very cozy and did not encourage one to want to dine there. However, when we stayed there last summer, the regular restaurant (breakfast) was very pleasant and appealing- not so with the bar area......would have liked to have dined in the hotel but did not because of the area designated!
Review 9:Location is perfect! The hotel looks a bit dated- ceiling tiles missing, dated, etc, but the amenities such as the location and indoor pool are a plus. No WiFi in rooms plus cost to use computer area were a real negative. The bar area was not exactly inviting so we decided not to eat there. The breakfast area was pleasant and seemed to offer a nice breakfast. Staff was very pleasant. Beds comfortable, quiet, would definitely stay there again but certainly not 5 or 4 star....
Review 10:See above.
Review 11:Very little. The place felt shabby, the service was indifferent and it felt like a million other slightly down at heel chain hotels. Everything and I mean everything was extra. Not even a small bottle of drinking water in the room. The cash drinks dispenser in the corridor was sold out but couldn't get money back!
Review 12:Party across the hall from 2AM - 4AM. Had to call front desk 2x. Only got an apology from front desk and was told those guests wouldn't be staying. It happened again the 2nd night. Front desk apologized
Review 13:Previously when I stayed I was in nicely updated rooms. This time I was in a room that wasn't as nicely updated.
Review 14:This is the dirtiest, filty, worn out hotel I have ever been to. The lobby was awful, hallways worn and dirty carpet, old fixtures, rooms and bathrooms were beyond bad. TERRIBLE; I would take this listing OFF your site!
Review 15:Cot one thing, this place was built in 1960, and it probably has had no maintenance or refurbishment since inception.
Review 16:Previous guest's dirty dishes stayed on the floor outside my room for over days after I arrived. Hotel was VERY rundown and shabby. Hallways were dingy, ancient carpet, missing ceiling tiles. Floor in the bar was plywood. Fixture in bathtub was partially separated from the wall.
Review 17:Good location, right on the Boulder Creek Path, and near the University.
Review 18:My favorite silk scarf went missing from my room and was never found. No refrigerator, which makes it challenging for a person who has special dietary needs.
Review 19:Great value for the money. Nice room.
Review 20:Hallway to room was not clean and smelled bad. In room, lamp and alarm did not have electrical outlets to plug them in. Bathtub fitting were coming off.
Review 21:Location is in good place within Boulder.
Review 22:Because the doors to the rooms are and inch too short, it was like our door was open. Could hear every conversation in the hallway. Also walls were very thin and were woken up by room noise above us.
Review 23:Location was perfect for our visit to university. Rooms were nice and clean
Review 24:Facilities, especially rooms, are tired and desperately in need if renovation. Dark and minimal amenities. This was a surprise and VERY disappointing for a Millineum property.
Review 25:Staff pleasant and attempted to accommodate, location ideal for my purposes as I was visiting the university.
Review 26:We reserved a mountain view room with a balcony. Our room (244) had the balcony but the hotel's air conditioning unit was on it and a wall of trees beyond that. Hotel seemed to be recovering from a wild football weekend because it seemed tidy but not clean in the common areas
Review 27:Very pleasant and helpful staff at the desk and bar. Proximate location to CU
Review 28:The south wing is more disgusting than a frat house. The room service was awful and over priced. The only breakfast option was the buffet, whether you wanted to spend that much or not. The wifi in the rooms did not work. It's an awful property and to have spent over $200 for ONE night was ridiculous. Even a Super 8 would have been much better.
Review 29:Not much
Review 30:Air conditioning rather noisy and not particularly efficient - which meant the room was unbearably hot. Michael Jackson on repeat at the pool bar for a couple of hours!
Review 31:Large room. Pool and hot tub- nice white fluffy towels and comfortable feather pillows. Bed also very comfortable.
Review 32:No fridge to keep my drinks cold, the room had blood splatter and dirt on the walls and the overall feel and look to the "hotel" is very old and dirty. Putting new furniture in the rooms doesn't take away from the actual first appearance of the hotel. I almost didn't want to check in after I pulled up to the location. My "garden" view was of a dead bush. SMDH!
Review 33:I like the location and staff.
Review 34:The list is long but in general the facility was very very run down. Dirty, broken items etc. There waste bugs flying around the room all night. Horrible.
Review 35:It is hard to say what I did like about this property. Not much.
Review 36:It looked dirty, the coffee maker had coffee but no cream or sugar in the room, and overall the staff seemed just like they were going through the motions of running a place.
Review 37:Walking distance to mainstream and all of the action
Review 38:The break fast is very poor and very expensive. They tried to charge mea breakfast I didn't take. The staff was very poor as well: nearlyimpolite. Do not visit this hotel.
Review 39:Its position is quite ok.
Review 40:So many things. Housekeeping was poor, everyday forgetting to replace necessary items. I have never stayed in a hotel that does not offer coffee outside your room, before 630 am. I walked for coffee every a.m. Since housekeeping must have been pocketing my rooms k cups. Outdoor furniture was dirty and most was broken. Elevator broke 2 out of my 5 days. Computer system failed on them one night and that made it a cash bar, plus I spoke with a late check in guest who waited an hour for them to resolve this, only to have to go to another hotel. Restaurant was sub par, yet pricey. Pillows were at best walmart- and don't request more because they never come. Door to room was like opening fort Knox, so my better half was awakened daily At the noise of the slamming( it's the only way it would fully close) due to my coffee trips ( refer back to missing k cups and no lobby coffee ) we picked up food one night to sit outside(on the dirty furniture) and were scolded for having outside food brought in! Are you joking with that??? I booked a queen mountain view, floor level. I was on the 5th floor, Street view, broken door.
Review 41:The hotel itself has a great location and alot of amenities.the staff was quite friendly.
Review 42:- We had a few people with bad knees in our group. Had we known that the walk to their rooms were so far, we would have requested rooms closer to the elevators. - Location was a little further from Pearl St. than we thought. We were hoping we could walk but at least we didn't have any problem finding parking.
Review 43:Very friendly, polite, & helpful staff. Beds & pillows were comfortable Good water pressure in shower. Nice outdoor area.
Review 44:The building were my room was located was very round down. Dirty carpets, not even a pen in the room to write with. Are they targeting business people? Not worth $185 a night, this is a $75 dollars a night place. I travel often for work and I do not remember last time I had to pay $9.95 for internet. My company wants me to pay under $200 a night for hotels and that is what I look for when I travel. I was over charged for the room I got. Is a question of value and what I feel that I didn't get a fair value when I compare to other hotels I stayed for about the same price.
Review 45:The maids were very friendly.
Review 46:I paid over $200 for a room in the old section for 2 queen beds...west wing.....the hall walls are soiled a worn white - all trim work needed painting, the carpets in the hall and elevator were dirty and dated. I felt like I had been sent to some dingy ward a long ways away from the beauty of the hotel entrance. The room, at least, was inviting, but smelled of cleaning agents. I have stayed in the newer, remodeled wing, and saw the sign in your front lobby that I could have a remodeled room for $30 extra. Don't think I will return unless I get to choose room, price, and location.
Review 47:I love the location of the Millennium and the location on the creek walk. The outdoor patios are lovely.
Review 48:Room was s little run down. Could have used a few more towels The inside Door lock fell off and broke.
Review 49:Location was fantastic. So close to college Very convenient Price was reasonable Air conditioner worked great!!
Review 50:Terribly expensive breakfast with not much selection. Rooms need to be badly remodeled. Looked like they did in the 60s.
Review 51:Terrific Staff!! On par with with Millenium name. Pure delight.
Review 52:Not really a bad experience, my booking said mountain view, my view ended up being of a floor to ceiling fake green leafy looking screen at balcony railing.
Review 53:The location was the main reason I booked this hotel. Great location
Review 54:The pool especially needs to be be updated. The set up is great, but it looked kind of dirty and there was missing tile along the sides.
Review 55:The hotel is beautiful. The layout of everything is great.
Review 56:The front desk person was unprofessional and definitely not friendly. Expected outstanding customer service from this highly recommended hotel. We were disappointed. Experienced the same poor customer service from other staff members.
Review 57:The bathroom was filthy! There was black mold on the shower curtain and walls. The faucet and shower head leaked. There was a mystery glob of something on the wall in the bathroom. They blew leaves from 745 am-815 am.... Woke up my family. Don't stay here! Way too much money for such a dump! When I told the person when I left how unsatisfied I was she told me to have a nice day... Really??
Review 58:Needs to be updated and direr need of a face lift!!!!!!!!!
Review 59:Back in the day, like 25 years ago this was a great hotel! Even Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant would stay here. I met him there in 1990.
Review 60:The room was sub par at best and did not really meet my expectations. Though rather clean, it was poorly furnished (such as not having a microwave or mini fridge.. Which made for difficult meals).
Review 61:The staff was infinitely helpful- they bent over backwards to make sure we were well taken care of. The pool and hot tub were also well maintained and I greatly enjoyed using them.
Review 62:It appears that the hotel is looking "shop worn". It needs some TLC. Wood paneling In elevator is badly scratched, towel rack in bathroom hung badly as well as toilet paper dispensers, loose and about to fall off. Lights that hung over bedside table: one did not turn on at all and the other dangled loosely, about to fall off. These are maintenance issues; the daily cleaning staff was good (although both my friend in another room and I found some grooming supplies had been replaced with partially full tubes with no seal (i.e.Shampoo and body wash). Carpets could use a wash as well.
Review 63:The grounds are lovely; the pool reasonably clean and the restaurants good for a convenient meal....food above average.
Review 64:To ask $9 for wifi is archaic and mean in this day and age
Review 65:Very good facilities Andy the location means that you can walk along Boulder Creek to the downtown
Review 66:Very small area around the sink. No place to put cosmetics etc. The air conditioner was horrible. It sounded like an airplane taking off every time it came on and then remained loud even though we set it on low. Had to wear ear plugs at night to try and block out the noise.
Review 67:Size of the room, comfortable bed.
Review 68:Don't have microwave! When asked, the staff said, we rent them sometimes, but today the renter did not drop. Buying a $50 microwave does not harm this huge property!
Review 69:Location, view, comfort, professional. generally expensive as per Boulder's standard. But we got a really good deal.
Review 70:Paying for wi-fi! I was Very surprised at this...even Starbucks has FREE wi-fi.
Review 71:The staff, especially Lucas (front desk) and Alex (Lost & Found), both were so very professional and helpful in insuring our stay was problem-free!!
Review 72:Would have liked a mini fridge in room to accommodate left overs fromawesome restaurants nearby
Review 73:Price was awesome for the quality. Rooms were very well kept and clean.Staff was friendly
Review 74:I didn't like the noise level coming from the hallway. Other guests were loud talkers. The worst noise was the room doors slamming shut, this constantly woke me up late at night and early morning.
Review 75:The bed was very comfortable.
Review 76:The room had ano abundance of mold not only on the ceiling but in the bathroom. Leach could have solved that problem. On arrival to the room the bathroom sink had backed up previously to being there so there was hair and gross things in the sink. I was a gm for a high property for 6 years so I know the left goths u go through to make a room presentable. Just felt like there was lack of cleanliness. Would not be my choice when dropping my daughter off at school next year or for any types of visits.
Review 77:I didn't have a bad experience it is just that the hotel itself is very shabby, the wifi is awful and if it hadn't been that the location was perfect I would have been very disappointed as it was not a budget hotel!
Review 78:Location was excellent for the university a 6 minute walk away which as I was dropping my son off at uni was perfect. Room was big and beds very comfortable.
Review 79:Came here for a last minute birthday trip. We got a great deal and it was close enough to downtown. Our room wasn't one of the updated rooms but it was still fairly nice and clean. The hallways are in definite need of some updating but overall this was an enjoyable weekend.
Review 80:For $245 per night- They nickel and dime you! 0.25 per min and .50 page in the business center when the La Quinta is free. Paid WiFi. Breakfast is $18 it is ok, but not worth it. Limited choices. Embassy suites is less and the breakfast is much better. The rooms and halls need updating and look old and clunky. This is a $150 per night hotel
Review 81:Location near CU is good, grounds are nice
Review 82:The hotel just never lives up to expectations. The staff seems nice, but the service is always just fair. I blame this on management and poor training. With some of the lobby renovations done, we thought the overall experience might be better, it wasn't.
Review 83:The location next to CU Boulder is perfect.
Review 84:Are and restaurants understaffed. Long waits. Dirty hallways.
Review 85:Room was comfortable and pleasant. All staff were friendly and courteous. Nice grounds and two nice pools. Some of the hallways were dirty. The restaurants and bars were understaffed. Any food we had was very delicious. The happy hour at the outside bar was fabulous. Delicious tapas for $2.
Review 86:Only one coffe cup in room. Asked at desk two days, no change. Ran out of facial tissue day 3 none there day 4. No regular coffee in room day 4.
Review 87:Location
Review 88:Hotel needs to be refurbished rooms bathrooms lobby. Not enough front desk help ran out of towels at pool two days
Review 89:Outdoor pool is reason we stay there
Review 90:Bad staff. Dairty room. Worst house keeping. Never stay again. Not recommended
Review 91:Worst hotel in my life. Bad house keebing. Windows broken 5 days no one change. Bath room drain blocked took 6 hours to fix it. No washing machines. Some front deck impolite.
Review 92:The air conditioner running constantly is the ONLY thing we didn't like
Review 93:The staff - all were very pleasant Location - was perfect for our needs Grounds - were very much fun I was at CU in the 60's and it was so much fun returning
Review 94:Too expensive for the quality of facilities. Needs to update.
Review 95:Needs a lot of updates. For the price I wasn't expecting the hotel rooms to be so run down. They didn't even provide wash clothes for the bath.
Review 96:Front desk staff was direct and to the point (a plus) but not friendly. Wifi was terrible and only worked after calling the call center and a 20 minute call. Unacceptable for paid internet. The entire south wing looked like a college dorm compared to the rest of the hotel.
Review 97:Bed was nice. Being from LA, it was hard to believe this hotel was even related to the millineum biltmore, which has a high reputation.
Review 98:Various parts of room in bad repair. Lack of staff on front, desk. Issue, with connection to wifi
Review 99:Location and good for young kids being close to Boulder Creek. Ground floor room great location
Review 100:I feel that for the price we paid, there should be valey parking. In addition, the hot tub had sand, and guests allowed their children in the hot tub. There should be a no children policy for the hot tub. Also , there should be a bar by the pool that is open in the late afternoon. The beds are not soft, and the doors were hard to open. In addition, I asked staff for directions, and they did not offer to print the directions out for me. They asked me to " Google it." I worked at a hotel in college, and we would print out adresses for customers. Also, 3:00 check in is to late. Also, there should have been a miny bar in the room.
Review 101:The staff was nice.
Review 102:Horrible customer service. If you set a precedent to serve bottled water on the first night in the room. Then you have set a standard to be kept up during the stay with you. There was no additional water served. I asked for more complimentary water and was refused WATER!!!! I can't believe this really. The one basic necessity of life and you refuse to serve your customers that have paid an outrageous premium to stay with you in Boulder co. I'm so disappointed that I will not be returning to any hotel owned or operated by the millennium group.
Review 103:Clean linens and bathroom
Review 104:This hotel is extremely dated, and marginally maintained. The only thing it has going for it is the location (about a 30 minute walk to Pearl Street Mall) and its past reputation. It is an extremely poor value. Our room was in the West Building and the view was literally of a garbage dumpster and the back wall of a Safeway Grocery store. The bathroom floor was grubby and the walls of the room had numerous dirty marks on them. The restaurant was closed for dinner. I don"t know about breakfast as we did even bother to check it out.
Review 105:This is s tired facility in need of a renovation Hotel was overbooked. We arrived late evening and were offered a lesser room than we booked (but no price change) or a room in a hotel 20 miles away . Hotel blamed it on booking.com. Whoever a fault it was outrageous Boooo for booking.com and for this hotel. We wont be coming back
Review 106:We did not get our room cleaned after requesting it. had to ask for clean towels. I was actually given a key to the wrong room at 3 AM in the morning. My room was 170 and I was given key to 182. When I complained about this I was compensated for one night. The staff was pleasant about this.
Review 107:The outside grounds are beautiful and the location is great.
Review 108:Room was in Sportswing and seemed dated. Shower curtain kept touching me when I showered, bed and pillow could have been more comfortable. Clock wasn't plugged in
Review 109:Location proximity to Boulder creek path and 36 and to shopping
Review 110:It's a big hotel and I got turned around a couple of times trying to find the room but this could just be my problem.
Review 111:The location was excellent! The room was very clean and comfortable.
Review 112:Work out facility could use an upgrade. Rented bikes were overpriced. Not enough lounge chairs at the pool.
Review 113:Location was ideal. Loved having the pool and pool bar. Beds were comfy.
Review 114:When booking I booked a room with a garden view. Upon arriving the view outside of my room wasn't what I had paid for. I'm unsure that had anything to do with the hotel.
Review 115:The garden was beautiful. They have great outdoor space and the pool was great. The location was really nice as well.
Review 116:The hotel is not clean and needs an update. My room did not even have amini fridge. They had to bring me one. Finally on the second day of mystay I got one. The pet fees are exorbitant. I had a very poorexperience in the dining room. My latte came with a hair in it, then thewater dumped water on me and the $10 bowl of oatmeal came completelyplain. I sat and waited for 15 minutes. When my server didn'treturn, I left. Needless to say I did not pay. For a nice hotel thisplace needs an all around overhaul and upgrade- staff included!
Review 117:The hotel was right next to the beautiful Boulder Creek trail. My dogand I loved our daily walks here!
Review 118:there was no indoor resturant; room service was the prime mode of getting cold, over cooked food.
Review 119:The lobby gives a very good first impression and the front office staff was pretty good. however google should not be the only source to give information on your community
Review 120:My room had two water temperatures: hot and scalding. It was so hot I had to rinse my hair out in the sink. There was also a lot of trash: an empty condom box outside my neighbors door that was there when we got there and still there when we left same thing w an half full wine glass outside another room and near the elevator a tray full of dirty dishes that sat there the whole time too. There was black hair in the shower.
Review 121:I liked the pool and hot tub at night it's so pretty. The air conditioner/ heater worked fine the TV worked fine.
Review 122:This hotel is relatively tired and is getting to the point where it will need a floor to ceiling overhaul. The rooms and hallways, especially in the south wing, resemble a Motel 6 off a highway somewhere much more than a place at this price point. That said, the rooms were clean and comfortable enough, but just the facility is beat, and was cheaply built to start with.
Review 123:The location of the Millennium House is outstanding. Easy walking distance to the main CU Boulder campus, and located near many bars, restaurants and other local businesses. The gazebo bar is also nice when conditions permit for a drink outdoors.
Review 124:At these prices, it is ridiculous to charge $10/day for Wifi. It ismore ridiculous that the hotel charges extra for the in-roomcoffee/tea service if you use more than the supplied number of teabags (2) during your stay. The hotel has a very strange smell, and theac is old and very loud.
Review 125:The view was great, and the bathrobe supplied by the hotel was the bestpart of my stay.
Review 126:The hall ways to the room didn't have lights talk about creepy!
Review 127:Being right by the river was a nice perk! Nice area for a bike ride or long walk. Amazing bar tender! She was more than happy to give my friend and I the 411 on all the hot spots and must see hole in the walls around Boulder!!!!! I'd give the hotel big points just for having her on staff!
Review 128:Bed was really hard, room had stains on walls and carpet. I will never stay here again. I would say it like a Motel 6. And too expensive. Staff was not friendly.
Review 129:Close to town, pillows were soft.
Review 130:* the table in my room was great (for working) but without any plug nearby, I had to use plug from the lamp * shampoos were not replenished every day * paid internet worked only for one device (and not for mobile then)
Review 131:* very nice environment / surrounding * many facilities (pool, etc.), * big parking place, * nearby shops and bars
Review 132:The elevator on end away from front desk did not work properly. That elevator didn't always move down when the 1 button was pushed. Was stuck on 5th floor until someone came up on another elevator.
Review 133:Location. This was our second stay. The view was worth the upgrade. Front desk good to work with.
Review 134:Dated building in need up renovation. New furnishings only a bandaid. Sheets on bed didn't fit, had to pay for Wi-Fi. Staff didn't look happy to greet me.
Review 135:Not much. New furnishings.
Review 136:Loved the top floor King room with the wonderful view of the flatirons. It was great ti be able to open the window and listen to the rushing river outside!!
Review 137:The hotel is rundown. The room had mold, stained and dirty walls, pubic hair in the bathroom, gross buildup in the corners, etc. just so gross!!! I would rate this hotel a zero, and 200 a night! They've lost their minds!!!
Review 138:Leaving.
Review 139:It took the front desk 30 min. to answer our question : Is the wedding in the court yard going to be loud tonight if so we need a quiet room. We called from room and waited 15 min. on hold and then got transferred to room service because the front desk said they were really busy and put on hold and then said didn't know after long wait and transferred us to Fand B and after they didn't know and 30 min. went by waiting went down stairs to front desk and the manager was there and said it wouldn't be a problem because the party was over at 10PM. Lot of waiting around for one question.
Review 140:I liked that the room was nice and cool and the bed was very comfortable and the front desk gave us a fridge for meds. I liked the pool out front and the room was quiet so we could get our rest.
Review 141:Beds are platform, not interspring. Maids missed cleaning some of our parties rooms. Old part of hotel in need of renovation, tower rooms are nice if you don't get big satelllite antennas in front of your windows. Were moved from old wing to Tower where rooms were much nicer.
Review 142:The food at the restaurant and the event was very good, taste and presentation.
