Reviews for Gold Country Inn

Review 1:It feels like a hotel that is struggling. The gentleman at the front wasn't very friendly, not terrible, just bare minimum. There was no maid service and our room wasn't very clean. Fortunately, I had disinfecting wipes in my car.

Review 2:The location was great, easy proximity to downtown. Overall, I would probably stay here again.

Review 3:Price was very high for this place! Paid $160 per night at which it should have not paid more than $70. Family was not happy at all and used our own sheets! Plus we got fooled by the link. It said 9 miles from Folsom. It turned out to be 20 miles!

Review 4:Not much

Review 5:Rug in the room was a little dirty. Only two of the many lights in the room worked.

Review 6:The location of the Inn. the beds were very comfortable and the sheets and towels were clean.

Review 7:The only problem was I had a hard time getting on the Internet and once I did the signal was low and finally lost it. It would be nice if you tell people at check in they need to get a hair dryer from the desk instead of discovering when you get out of the shower. Thanks for delivering one to the room however.

Review 8:It was close to where we had to be and easy to find.

Review 9:Definitely not the Ritz, but clean, and in a pinch, it'll do. Only stayed one night. Did not have breakfast, so can't comment on that. Was a non-smoking room, and did not smell like smoke, so that was a good thing, Overall, if I couldn't get into a nicer place, I would stay again.

Review 10:Their idea of breakfast was coffee and pre-packaged rolls. No pool, but the weather was too cool for swimming anyway.

Review 11:We had a nice little room in the back that looked out over their grounds with trees, a brook and squirrels. It was like camping in the mountains, but with TV. Close to all the cool stuff in Placerville, within walking distance of the Starbucks.

Review 12:Only 2 towels and 2 wash clothes for 4 people. Liquid shower soap was very low. Bathroom window stuck. Bathroom sliding door very difficult to open and close.

Review 13:Quiet. Comfy beds. Wifi good. Hot water good. Clean.

Review 14:Housekeeping didn't come to my room the entire 3 days I was there. There was a little mold on the shower stall.

Review 15:Room is large and has a table and chairs for eating and computer work. Microwave and frig are a nice extra. Parking is right in front of the room. Convenient to the downtown area shops and restaurants.

Review 16:There was no hair dryer, no soap in the room.. The rooms are decorated in colors resembling the 1960s.. They say they provide breakfast, well if you want a gas station muffin, coffee and fake orange juice that is what you get for breakfast... Not at all what I call breakfast... The beds are horrible... Do not stay there for $150.00 there are much better places for the price and what they serve.

Review 17:The price was way too high for the outdated condition of the facilities and the room. This place needs a major renovation. The continental breakfast was just that - a cheap packaged Danish and coffee. The shower was very low and there was still soap/hair from a previous renter. Old television, old fixtures, old bed. It was one of the only rooms in town or we would never have entertained staying here. Will not stay again.

Review 18:The room was spacious.

Review 19:EVERYTHING. Smell of smoke and mold. Filthy bathroom. Cheap/ragged towels, linens, curtains, and carpet. Locals told us that this motel has a rating of 3 stars because the "party" folks like to use it. Beer bottles, smoke, NOISE. Unbearable. Checked into the Best Western even though we could get NO refund from the rude and intolerable owner.

Review 20:NOTHING. Stayed 1 night out of 3 reserved. No refund. VERY rude manager/owner. Suggesting that our organization, EAGALA take this filthy motel off it's list of recommended places to stay.

Review 21:no breakfast, no coffee maker, crap shower, loud heater, loud.

Review 22:It was ok.

Review 23:In nondescript mall / outlets area.

Review 24:Handy for trip to Coloma. Friendly helpful staff.

Review 25:We liked the price! And, if you go in knowing the price, all of the amenities, room, etc are fine for the price you are paying!

Review 26:dirty cup behind night stand, pain pealing off ceiling of shower.

Review 27:Close to where we were going.

Review 28:Shower infested with spiders and the smoke detector was nonexistent (it was removed from the wall)

Review 29:It was a decent location

Review 42:Horrible customer service.

Review 43:Good value for the money.

Review 44:The WIFi was not available or it was a very poor signal.

Review 48:Breakfast

Review 49:Big Room

Review 50:Sticky locks in opening the door.

Review 51:Cleanliness.

Review 52:Alarm clock broken Tiny room Continental bkfst was not worth it.

Review 53:very quiet!

Review 54:close to everything I needed

Review 55:Poor wifi, grouchy manager, room old and smells of smoke, breakfast consists of Danish, coffee & juice. Very mediocre and way over priced.

Review 56:Hidden smoking fee charge.

Review 57:Nothing

Review 58:Clean and good value for money

Review 59:beds to hard

Review 60:front desk suggested a great place for breakfast

Review 61:A little pricey for location.

Review 62:The property has been recently renovated and it was clean and comfortable. The most you could do with an older property. Excellent location pertaining to Highway 50 travel.

Review 63:Not a good value for the money at all. Very minimalist with noamenities. The door and door jamb was all marked up from someonejimmying it open - not a sense of security at all. The well-paintedwood railings on the stairway were rickety and loose. It advertised online, in its brochure, and on its sign as having a microwave andrefrigerator, yet there was nothing! There was not even coffee in theroom at all, the only coffee was in the morning at the office. Therewas only one wash cloth period, and the soap was so small and thin itbroke taking it out of the package. They only provided one smallshampoo bottle, period. Nothing else. And that was sitting on thewindow sill in the bathroom. The room was large enough but had only thebare minimums of old furniture, making it seem very bare. The grab barin the shower was broken, and there was a hole in the wall in thebathroom that someone had tried to fix but looked terrible. Thebathroom was so small you had to straddle the toilet to close the door. The literature about the area was from 2011! in 2013! It did me no goodas a tourist. The "continental breakfast" was the smallprepackaged sweet rolls and small plastic containers of partiallyfilled juice that looked old and dirty. I did not dare try it. Havingsaid I was handicapped, there was no consideration given. With unitsfree on the ground floor I was put on the 2nd floor. And, althoughsomeone had said on line that the bed was comfortable, it was not. Itwas lumpy and hard. The only thing advertised about this motel that wastrue was that it was clean. Everything else was false advertising. Icould have had better accommodations at a Motel 6 for far less money, and gotten what I paid for. We felt cheated and unsafe, looking at thecrowbar marks on the door.

Review 64:Good location Very clean

Review 65:Very poor value, needs update, lacks standard amenities such as hairdryer, coffee in room, "breakfast is packaged junk and bad coffee.

Review 66:It was marginally clean

Review 67:The continental breakfast. We would much rather have stayed at the bestwestern in placerville, ca, it has a much better breakfast. They werebooked when we called so we stayed here

Review 68:We liked the quiet

Review 69:no coffee pot in room. toilet and shower room is very tight/tiny.

Review 70:Location is easy to find, right off the freeway. Mini fridge and microwave useful

Review 71:There was no in-room coffee. The A/C unit blew right on the person sleeping in the bed closest. Needed some sort of a diverter so the air would blow upwards. Initially the water from the shower and sink was BROWN! Only one washcloth. When I booked the reservation, I was sure I asked for two queen beds. When I arrived I was only reserved one! The paper reservation in my hand did NOT specify whether one or two beds. Luckily, a two-bed queen room happened to be available. Running the water and flushing the toilet were very noisy during the night at least in this particular room.. Also, several family members commented on the odor permeating the room. It smelled clean, but was musty an had a chemical smell permeating the air.

Review 72:The beds were the best I've slept in in any motel/hotel the first night! Loved the continenal breakfast. Loved having the refrigerator in the room. Loved the quiet after hours. Nothing woke us. It was an absolutely restful, peaceful night! Thank you!

Review 73:The bed was extremely hard. The bedding was lacking. The bathtub grout had mold. The included breakfast is a pre-packaged danish. There wasn't a blow dryer. The location is on the more run down side of town.

Review 74:It was clean.

Review 75:Television was older model and remote didn't work to change channel.

Review 76:Good, clean comfortable room.

Review 95:it prevented us sleeping in the car

Review 96:Noisy ac unit. But not the worst. I could still sleep.

Review 97:Room was clean & hotel was quiet.

Review 98:It is what it is.... A clean comfortable place to sleep.

Review 99:WiFi didn't work. Staff couldn't have cared less. The "continental breakfast" consisted of some sort of jelly roll.
