Review 1：The location wasn't what I needed I was unsure about the beach location and that it was not convenient to get to. They only offer coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker. There wasn't a coffee pot in the room were I stayed I couldn't use the coffee pot to put water on to drink tea. The ice machine was out of ice.the rooms are kinda small. Being this location it made it costly to get around a 20 min ride in the cab cost over 40 dollars. There no public transportation on weekends to help you with the cost of getting around. Although the workers were friendly they were unfamiliar with the area.its a fine if you just want to lay around in a hotel with nothing to do. The room had a musty smell. I had to use spray to freshen the place. There only fast food places around and a few stores. I wished the weather was good at the time of my visit so I could have gotten in the pool for some activity. Some rooms didn't offer its guess continental breakfast.

Review 5：The room smelled like mildew. House cleaning staff looked like they didn't work there. Continental breakfast was ey and no where to sit since eating area was very limited. Number of rooms at ground level were boarded up and out of service; made me wonder if a crime occurred or if there was water damage since our room smelled of mildew.

Review 7：For some reason booking.com didn't register us or couple in front of us. Apparently, that is a common problem with booking.com and this location. We were also charged a small amount more than quoted. The room was clean, but the carpet was wet and musty, and you know those big brown spiders that hang out around drains and wet areas? Yeah, I woke up to see one on the wall staring me down. That one won't be bothering anyone again, so don't worry about him. It's not actually Virginia Beach, it's Norfolk. There is absolutely nothing that would ever bring me back to Norfolk. The hotel is on a corner that is really difficult to get into the parking lot. You need to make a U-turn then quickly merge in fairly high-speed traffic to make the parking lot. I averaged about 50% on the first attempt. I don't really want to complain about it. The pool was very clean and property looked good, but the rooms really need some renovation. It's not the maids or the management's fault. It's the owners who need to step up. It's cheap, but it's still between 20 and 30 minutes from the beach, and I doubt I'd stay here again. Oh, and breakfast? I would be embarrassed to call that a continental breakfast. It's mini muffins and bagels and tiny styrofoam cups for coffee and juice. It's fine to offer it, but not fine to advertise as an amenity. Sorry, I really wanted to give it a better review, but these 4 star ratings before me are absurd. I would give it somewhere close to 2 stars.

Review 8：Our room was located around the pool area. The maid was very friendly. The receptionists were generally friendly, the lady who checked us in was great, although we had problems with the booking, as did the people in front of us.

Review 9：When I first entered the restroom found a partial bar of soap on the tub and "something" tucked onto the edge above the shower, had NOT been cleaned. Internet was sporadic, only worked at times.

Review 17：The hotel lobby was closed at night and conversation with staff had to be held while I stood outside and spoke to the clerk through a window (much like a fast food restaurant). This made me feel VERY unsafe about my choice of location. If it is not safe for the staff to have the lobby door open, why should I feel safe standing out on the street? This was my only complaint about my stay, so had my key worked when I came back to my room at 10:30pm, I would probably have never had this issue.

Review 31：There was no place to hang coats or clothing. No rack of any kind. I have never seen this in any hotel. I had to use the ironing board to hang my jacket on. The bed had a thin blanket sandwiched between 2 sheets. It was not adequate for warmth or comfort. Luckily I had two double beds and removed the sheets/blanket from the unused bed to double up. Breakfast was nothing but carbs.

It took over an hour to check in, the owner/manager who was watching the women behind the desk give me 3 wrong rooms didn't even bother to apologize or assist her. Then when he finally said "the system was down earlier" I said you didn't apologize at all, he got an attitude with me and said "oh you want an apology" then fine "I apolgize". Very rude

Review 42：Everything from the website was misleading. For starters, this should be labeled as a motel. The wifi never worked in our room despite having multiple networks (wasn't given much help from the front desk either). Breakfast was nasty tasting apple juice and cold waffles. And with only 5 other people there, it was crowded. The bathroom was old with pieces that should have been remodeled years ago.

Review 45：Its not a hotel, its a motor lodge. Way overpriced for what you get, the bathroom had water on the floor, the fan sounded like aircraft, and the rickety door stuck. It was quite ghetto outside, people sat right outside my door yelling at each other and smoking ALL night. I got no sleep. The breakfast in the morning was nonexistent, mini muffins and juice, the coffee maker didn't even work.

Review 49：When I made the reservation I booked a corner, king, smoking room. The women at the front desk insisted that I did not. I had to show her my phone and the confirmation for her to finally give me what I paid for. Once I got the room, there were no towels, tissue, or ashtrays. When I called the desk, the women kept asking me to repeat myself (she was foreign and did not understand English well), when she finally understood what I was asking, she told me to come to the front desk to pick up the items because they had no housekeeping staff on duty.

Review 50：The room was very clean The staff was okay, they were foreign and had very heavy accents. Its a good hotel if all you plan on doing is sleeping. Clean sheets, working shower, No WIFI. I paid about 70 bucks for one night. I got exactly what I paid for.

Review 51：I booked this hotel via booking.com. It did not require the payment in advance. Immediately after the application was submitted, received a call from Magnuson, saying they don't have this room. Offered me more expansive room and made me pay for it. I would assume, since the room I booked wasn't available, they should have offered me an upgrade without a price change. But that was not the case. Also the front desk said we have a room with the view at the pool. We only had one window and there was no pool anywhere close to it. Air in the room was very humid and stuffy. AC did not help.

The next morning, there was trash everywhere and broken glass in the parking lot. We did not feel safe/secure and I would not stay at this hotel again.
