Reviews for Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows

Review 1:The rooms are not sound proof and I had a crying baby beside me next door. I felt like I could hear everything! No entertainment for singles, no bar to have a drink and meet other traveller's.

Review 2:The beds and decorating.

Review 3:for us the location was ideal. we never left the property . Between the pools, ocean and attentive staff our vacation was perfect and way to short. Thank You for a wonderful vacation.. John Miller

Review 4:We had a major issue with our reservation (it didn't exist!), but that appears to be more the fault of booking.com than Mauna Lani. Despite the confusion, they were able to find us some great rooms. There were no late-night food or bar options, with all restaurants closed by 9pm and all bars closed by 10pm.

Review 5:We had beautiful, ocean facing rooms with private lanais, allowing us a great view of the beach and sunset. Great beaches were right outside, including an excellent area for snorkeling (and good snorkel gear was provided with our resort fees). The staff members were all incredibly helpful and kind.

Review 6:Extremely slow "high speed internet" (which you pay for with the daily resort fee), they ignored our request to have a kingsize bed (they gave us instead two double beds), terrible cocktails at the beach, sometimes rude service at the beach concierge

Review 7:Cleaned room, nice beach, ppssibility of snorkeling just a few feet from shore, beautiful setting

Review 8:There wasn't nothing that we did not like, little suggestion to clean the pond with the turtles and fish. Maybe add some algae eaters to help eliminate the fishy smell.

Review 9:I traveled with my Daughter and my Granddaughter (age 6yrs) upon check-in we were all pleasantly surprised by the greetings of a shell lei, fresh passion drink and a nice cool towel...big wow that we all enjoyed very much. Shops outside of the hotel were 5-10 minutes away so convenient. The staff was very helpful and friendly, atmosphere and landscape were just outstanding!

Review 10:Could offer more options for breakfast and lunchtime dinning.

Review 11:The grounds are and lobby are stunning. The landscaping and fishponds are impeccably maintained. Staff was friendly and attentive. The beach here is beautiful and protected by a reef, making the calm and warm like a large bathtub. Hammocks and cabanas, which are included on the beach, are the cherry on top!

Review 12:Ocean grill restaurant - very expansive and bad for average food - not a lot of choice - poor service Not many options to eat Bad experience with taxi Only 1.5 concierge for the entire hotel Too bad all activities/material rentals were additional and expansive ($45 for an hour paddle)

Review 13:Location 2 great beaches Breakfast Room and view Very good Canoe restaurant Hospistality room after check out

Review 14:Few number of resturants and lack of beach activity

Review 15:Quiet environment, people around you are appreciating your need to relax,,, quality is the hallmark of this facility

Review 16:The grounds of the resort provided plenty to see and do. The view and beach could not have been better. Service was first rate. Canoe House restaurant was terrific.

Review 17:We ate at the pool restaurant and my son got sick. Spent the whole afternoon in the room with him vomiting. Not fun. Manager didn't even comp his meal :( our food was fine but would have been nice if it was offered to be comped.

Review 18:The Canoe House restaurant was just disastrous. I can believe how people say food is good there. Please don't ask for tempura lobster, the tempura butter was tick and fried in a bad oil for a log time. Wine selection not impressive either. The place is very windy and the hotel design need re-done.

Review 19:The bed was comfortable, view very nice.

Review 20:The service was absolutely beyond unacceptable. Whether it was the beach side bar, pool attendant, breakfast staff, concierge staff - they all treated you as if you were invisible. They were no where to be found - often gathered in a group chatting or sitting reading a magazine....but, almost always greeted with annoyance. The food was lacking and the restaurant choices were all of ONE. Forget about wanting to get a drink after dinner...place shuts down at 9:00.

Review 21:Amazing location. Great walking trails (north and south).

Review 22:No lift to room Very tired Long walk to room Lunch restaraunt terrible burgers but no fries just chips, drinks in flexy plastic I checked out the next day and went to Four Seasons only 20% more money and 100% better

Review 23:Assistant Manager Nice view of ocean

Review 24:Lovely resort with plenty of room for everyone. The room was lovely, and while we were beach front, it looked as if most of the rooms would have a nice view. The gym was very high standard. It was fun taking the complimentary bikes out and also an interesting walk along the beach path in both directions. Historical sites were worth a visit and very accessible. Nice restaurants, and a great supermarket up the way.The snorkelling was world class - just off the beach. The next bay over and cafe were worth a visit too.

Review 25:Fantastic location, wonderful room with beautiful view of the beach and ocean, friendly and helpful staff, free access to beach and snorkelling

Review 26:There is nothing to complain.

Review 27:Absolutely excellent service, attitude of staff, surrounding, breakfast...everything. We were amazed by this place.

Review 28:Needs a little modernizing and updating...public spaces..

Review 29:Lovely staff

Review 30:Grossly expensive, accommodation, food and drink

Review 31:Location and beach facilities

Review 32:The price was a bit high but worth it.

Review 37:Pool and jacuzzis are awesome

Review 38:Everything...had a roll away bed for our daughter with no extra charge and a large room. The breakfast buffet was a treat.

Review 39:Beaches Ambiance Service Grounds

Review 40:I loved my stay at the Mauna Lani. Staff was so kind to me and so accommodating. My room was clean and comfortable. . such a good time.

Review 41:a bit on the pricey side

Review 42:the property is beautiful, staff is very friendly and helpful, yoga classes in the morning were awesome, beautiful little bay beach, great food, perfect location

Review 43:Nothing we didn't like

Review 44:The grounds were superior to any hotel we have visited. Breakfast buffet delicious, staff helpful, beach facilities and service excellent. We have nothing but good to say about this hotel.

Review 45:Room not available when arrival to check in at 6 pm Some concierge staff are not well trained in customer service

Review 46:very clean room with good housekeeping service

Review 47:Very little dining options. This is not just about the hotel, but also the surrounding area. Additionally, the hotel hosts parties (weddings...) pool side in the evening, which makes it loud for those with a room facing the ocean and pool. That said, music ends at 10pm.

Review 48:Best beach front and shoreline in the entire Big Island. Despite the hotel's relatively big size, it always feels intimate and quiet.

Review 49:Terrible in-room wifi but that probably helped make the stay romantic

Review 50:Great staff and facilities Excellent concierge service

Review 51:No pool or hot tub wasnt aware itwas under construction

Review 52:Shampoo n conditioner staff nice
