Reviews for Rodeway Inn and Suites Boulder Broker

Review 1:The hotel needs to be redecorated ,everything is a bit tired but it is really good value for money and I would stay there again

Review 2:Very well located ,close to university of Colorado and heart of Boukder

Review 3:Hotel is being "just barely" maintained. Very few working electrical outlets in room, halls dark, poor excuse for a cold breakfast. This used to be a very nice place.

Review 4:Staff was nice and accommodating. Good bed and hot water. Close to CU.

Review 5:I felt like somebody was going to come in my room and Rob me....the key didn't work when I got there so I went back got another key all the way across the hotel. Then it didn't work....I had to go back and fourth 4 times and finally 1 of the keys worked....in the room the adjoining room door wasn't locked so of we didn't check somebody could of walked right in....we ended up calling another hotel and stayed there after being at Rodeway only 1 hour....and had to pay the whole 3 days because it was a non refundable room. Nobody even cared as they watched us walk out with our luggage...they got there money and booking.com got there money and I will probably lyrics not ever use either of these again. It's a shame because I'm traveling constantly for work and leisure.

Review 6:Nothing

Review 7:See above.

Review 8:The room was cold. Couldn't get the heater to work properly. One of the managers insulted me at breakfast by asking if I was staying at the hotel. Why would I be having breakfast if I weren't staying at the hotel? The breakfast was terrible.

Review 9:I didn't have a bad experience here but I would say that the property is really showing its age. I know the decision on renovations are difficult but my advice is to come in and do some major work or the property will begin to reflect badly on roadway. Great location , good staff, very well priced but really needs upgrades.

Review 10:This is a well located property with friendly staff.

Review 11:We stayed here on several occasions over a 4 week period. The location was convenient for our purposes and staff were friendly and helpful. The Boulder Broker is an older style hotel, with clean rooms and it represents value for money.

Review 12:Very friendly service with clean and comfortable accommodations. In a great location, close to downtown, and for an awesome price. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 13:Not that anything was bad...however everything was certainly dated. The whole experience was a blind date trip back to 1970....but then I liked 1970.

Review 14:Convenient location for our needs and a reasonably low cost.

Review 15:The hotel was hard to find. The phone in room didn't work. All of the electrical plugs were unplugged. The radio alarm didn't work.

Review 16:The room was quiet.

Review 17:Hot breakfast items ran out 30 minutes before end of breakfast period. Hot tub wasn't. Staff didn't seem to care. Old blurry television.

Review 18:Good location - restaurants nearby.

Review 19:Old hotel who need repairs. Water accumulates over feet in bathtub while taking shower. Disgusting. Wrote a note but nothing have been done regarding this issue. Limited choice for breakfast.

Review 20:Close to UC campus. Large parking lot

Review 21:No bad experience. But would be great if the comp breakfast included cooked eggs of some kind.

Review 22:great convenient location. quiet area. Solid well built building (did not hear noises from neighbors, either next door or above or below us.

Review 23:The dirtiest hotel we have ever stayed at. The bed had stains on it. The mirrors were broken and the floors were disgustingly filthy. Defiantly not worth the price.

Review 24:Didn't have any soap in the room when we checked in but staff took care of it immediately.

Review 25:Great location near the university and Chautauqua. Comfortable rooms, nice pool, good breakfast. We were happy here.

Review 26:The place is very outdated. It needs some serious updating. The roof must have leaked at one time, and our walls were stained from the water running down it. The crown molding was hanging down, and it looked like there was probably mold behind it. The bathroom was really bad. The sheetrock was all messed up, holes behind toilet, the tile on the floor was so outdated and looked dirty. The matresses were terrible, you didn't have to worry about falling out of bed, because they were slanted to the middle. This hotel could be nice, if they would reinvest some money into it.

Review 27:The breakfast was good.

Review 28:Unchanged 1950's decor. Old and dirty. Room refrigerator smelled so bad when we opened it that we never touched it again. Room 105 very noisy as staff children are allowed to stay in maid storage area directly opposite while they work. Old style TV made loud humming noise. Remote inop. Message light permanently on as phone so dirty that buttons to extinguish it did not work. Reported both refrigerator and message light but nothing happened to fix either.

Review 29:The staff.

Review 30:Bathroom and bathroom floor dirty and previous guest(s) hair everywhere, cobwebs all over ceiling, light fixtures very dirty, carpet not vacuumed, no beds made or fresh towels/supplies provided on second day of stay. Stairways and Chandelier filthy, did not eat brkfst or use pool due to cleanliness concerns.

Review 31:the maid didn't clean the room the third day we were there, gave us new shampoo and soap even though we had our own but no coffee or cups the second day . the hot tub was too hot and the jets were fairly useless. the wifi signal was weak

Review 32:there was a pool and hot tub and the room was ok

Review 33:Very outdated decor with end table top that wasn't connected to the legs. Bathroom tiles and sink were very old. Bathtub didn't have a stopper for bath. Tube TV with limited channels and fuzzy pictures. I will say that none of this affected my stay but it may for other guests...

Review 34:Wi-fi connection speed was excellent. Ability to use professional gym as a guest is a plus. Location is great and close to Cosmo's Pizza, which is open to 2am (great place for a huge slice). Decent value for stay that includes a decent breakfast.

Review 35:In lobby , it smells like sweat & body odor .The decor is old, lights in the room decor only did not work , refrigerator unusable due to smell. Black mold in bathroom & looked like vomit on walls . Crumbs in the bed.

Review 36:It was in Boulder close to my daughters place. Affordable , in summer rate. Breakfast was good and hot. Bathroom tissues were soft .

Review 37:The breakfast was pretty boring and unhealthy. The sink had only hot water, I think because the hot/cold valve inside the tap is 100 years old. The tub didn't drain well at all, so showering meant standing in several inches of water. The windows can't be open, so it's stuffy in the room.

Review 38:The staff were nice.

Review 39:Nonworking clock/radio; front desk missed making wake-up call (necessitated by the nonfunctional clock). Substandard amenities for room price (e.g., shampoo but no conditioner; soap but no lotion); bathroom in particular & room generally could use refurbishing

Review 40:Extremely quiet rooms/building; good climate control in room. Easy WiFi access. Very comfortable bed. Decent-size (small) fridge in room.

Review 41:The room and the bathroom need renovation, as well as the overall facilities. Also the signal strength of the free WiFi needs to be improved.

Review 42:Good location and great value for money

Review 43:Bed linen and covers are in very bad condition. Seems never washed for ages, I reported insects crawling on the bed but seemed they don't care much :(

Review 44:Close to campus.

Review 45:Hallways and elevator had an over-powering smell -- freshener covering up mold? Breakfast was edible. Rooms not modern but adequately clean.

Review 46:Good location and price, friendly staff. Quirky layout and features (I like).

Review 47:The room was not cleaned very well especially the bathroom. The hair dryer was broken, globs of hair on the floor. The carpet was nasty. I didn't want to go barefoot while in the room. This room desperately needed an update.

Review 48:We enjoyed the friendly staff and location. The staff was very helpful with problems.

Review 49:Having a gym in the hotel and being able to store my bike OK. Location was adjacent to a block of takeaway shops and a supermarket making it easy to purchase food as the hotel only provided a continental breakfast.

Review 50:The only thing I don't like is that the breakfast room is at the upstairs. I think it will be very hard for old or seniors people to go up there for their breakfast.

Review 51:It's clean, friendly workers, and good environment.

Review 52:Our blow dryer didn't work, carpeted floor had sticky substance on it, still has old style bed spreads which is a germ magnet. Bathroom faucet dirty and shower didn't drain. I would not stay again.

Review 53:They did have new mattresses.

Review 54:Unfortunately the AM staff were not as responsive to us, and in fact were short with me when I asked if we could stay one more night. I was told there were no rooms for the next night, although I went online and could easily book one, even at a discounted rate... The woman at the front desk seemed disinterested in our situation, and seemed to have lied to us for unknown reasons, since there were rooms left!. --Regarding the free breakfast, there was nothing there that someone on a low carb diet could eat. There was no source of protein available ( where's many places are improving by offering hard boiled eggs and at least yogurt or cottage cheese,) there were no such offerings here--so bring your own protein for breakfast--it is carbs only!

Review 55:Room was clean and beds comfortable, when we checked in the Staff were great: jovial, empathetic & efficient. Although I am gluten intolerant and there was little more that an Apple or Mandarin that I could eat, my brother and his wife had pancakes from a nifty little machine that spits out yummy fare. In addition there were rolls, oatmeal, cereal and coffee, yea, or juice.

Review 56:The breakfast was quite poor. I cannot get over the fact that many hotels in the US use styrofoam plates and cups, and plastic cutlery. What a waste! There were hairs in the toilet. The walls were all stained, as if there had been a leak. I needed to print something and there was no ink, I told the staff and they insisted I check the settings again and again, by the time they agreed to change the ink I was already late and had to leave without the documents.

Review 57:The location was handy for me as I needed to be walking distance from UC campus. Wholefoods store close by.

Review 58:The first room had a soiled and poorly stained bed, we requested to be moved, the next beds had dirty sheets and a dirty shower. The tenant next door smoked substances, the smell came through the door surround staff seemed to be aware but did nothing.

Review 59:Location near where I was visiting. Nice breakfast provided.

Review 60:I did have to call the police to break up a brawl in the next room. I would not expect any individual on the staff to confront agressive strangers.

Review 61:I liked he old fashioned look of the interior.

Review 62:My room was dirty. There was dried food on the small "non smoking room" sign on the bedside table, the grout needed a good scrubbing and there was dust around the bed frame. Who follows up to ensure the rooms are cleaned well?

Review 63:The staff that worked at the desk were easy to talk with, funny, professional! So close to Moe's BBQ and The dark horse as well as other restaurants. Ask for a room near the front of the hotel so you don't hear the traffic on 36 from the commuters.

Review 64:The location is excellent - right next door to the CU campus, so if you're in town visiting your college student or taking a tour of the campus, the Rodeway Inn is very convenient. Price is right, staff is pleasant.

Review 65:I was in Boulder for an event at the University of Colorado. The property was clean, close to campus, and easy to find. The staff was friendly and courteous. They provided free parking, a free continental breakfast, and free Wi-Fi.

Review 66:I thought that I would take a bath, but there was no plug for the tub. When I pulled the drain cover off to investigate there was standing brown water just beneath. When I took a shower there was pathetic water pressure and adjusting the shower head did nothing. The tub didn't drain and nasty particles floated in the tub. The walls are super thin and I could hear my neighbors talking til 3 am. The alarm clock was broken. Looks like it had been smashed.

Review 67:It has a good location in Boulder. I was in town for an interview at Naropa and it was easy to get to.

Review 68:The breakfast was mostly carbs...I can't eat them. The shower in the bathroom did not turn off after use.

Review 69:Location to where I was going, comfortable bed.

Review 70:No windows, no ventilation, damp, poor breakfast, dryer shrunk my clothes. Cock up with room chargeable resulted in more fees in currency conversion. Would not stay here again even if I was paid. Cock up after cock up following the simplest requests from front of house.

Review 71:First night , a horrid smell filled the floor and room. So next night changed floors. Second night , a group of drunk men kept me up all night then verbally threatened me when I asked them to please keep quiet. So although the hotel itself wasn't bad the clientele ruined my stay

Review 72:I liked the hotel itself. Workout room. An old world charm . And staff , especially Katie were incredible .

Review 73:Everything was dated. The front desk clerk was more occupied with her i-Phone than anything else – except talking to friends. Their web site indicated pool and sauna but we learned upon arrival they were seasonal. The phone in the room didn’t work. Dialing in, the phone to the front desk didn’t work – which was confirmed by the night auditor. The room lacked an iron yet there was a fixture for one and an ironing board. The room lacked extra pillows and the pillows provided were thinner than my US Army pillows. There was a massive hole in the bathroom wall. The room lacked a coffee maker yet had coffee packets. The desk clerk could not produce a replacement so the request went unanswered until we requested a room change.

Review 74:Location

Review 75:Crazy plumbing. Faucet in our bathroom had hot and cold mixed up and water was only warm and no real cold water. Shower water was not hot enough. We would not stay there again because of the water situation.

Review 76:Good location for our purpose of visiting our son nearby. Nice staff. Old but interesting decor. Clean

Review 77:No TV working. Poor lighting. Electrical lines covered with duct tape and according to my husband would never meet code.

Review 78:Room was clean. Staff was good.

Review 79:People live here They use residential bedding that didn't fit I booked as 2 people and got 1 shampoo and 1 bar of soap... When we called for more, there was only 1 person working so she advised us to call again in the morning?? It was just not even a decent place. They have some nerve charging $112 ($99) for that

Review 80:Absolutely nothing impressed me :(

Review 81:This hotel hasn't been updated since it was built. The rooms are dark and the decor is pretty awful. You don't want to look to closely at the cleanliness. The walls were filthy and the box springs were not much better. The hallway carpets look like they have never been replaced. We were in a hall with rooms full of young men that were very noisy. If you are a college student on a very tight budget and don't really care it is a fine hotel. If you are a traveler with expectations of a clean and up to date hotel this one is not for you.

Review 82:If you are looking for very cheap close to campus you will find it here.

Review 83:The breakfast is very limited. Basically some oats, cereal, bagels and that's it. There were couple times eggs, sausages and pan cakes, but appearance of those is unpredictable.

Review 84:The hotel is located close to the University campus, so it is a convenient stay for those who needs to visit CU. It is in south of the city, there is bus connection to downtown and main shopping area. There are some dining and shopping possibilities around, so one can find all what is needed. The convenient location near exit from high way. The hotel is old, design and equipment of the bathroom are according. But it is clean, good wifi signal, GYM, swimming pool, coffee machine and fridge in the room. Overall good value in comparison to other offers in the area.

Review 85:Left behind an item of clothing. Two emails to the hotel went unanswered, one to Choice was answered, but when I followed up, no response was forthcoming. This is fundamental customer service even if the answer I receive is not what I'm hoping for. Their pricepoint gives them volume business, the fact that I won't return is of no consequence to them. Sad approach to management.

Review 86:- Ac old and noisy, you can't open any window and have to choose between suffocating or (not) sleeping with a chopper in your room- The entire place smells horribly bad (carpets?) - Swimming pool cleaned every second day! - No fridge, even after asking - Wi-fi slooooooooooow - Cheap coffee machine - Those sad fish in the lobby, 'been there for years - Not good for the money (6 days there, no alternative at the moment) 3 days at $109 (OK) 3 days at $179 (ridiculous!) - Old TV set with snowy channels - It may have been a fair hotel in the 70s. The owner has a serious effort to do to bring the place to this level of price standards. There are much better places in town

Review 87:- In contrast to previous comments, breakfast is ok, if you don't mind eating in styrofoam-plastic sets- Location is OK, close to a major (noisy) highway, to CU and downtown - Staff is OK - Our room was clean (but smelly) - Good shower - Easy parking

Review 88:Broken bedside lamp that staff was aware of and hadn't fixed, didn't respond when we let them know at checkin. Hotel smells.

Review 89:Cotton sheets and blankets Location close to CU

Review 90:Well, it offers no more than you would expect at the price. Like a basic motel.

Review 91:Good price, OK location (not that central but the strip mall next to it has good restaurants etc. and it's reasonably convenient to campus), nice staff, clean rooms.

Review 92:Wearing a bit around the edges.

Review 93:Staff helpful, friendly, went out of way to support and meet requests. Was close to freeway, other restaurants and shopping options, easy to find.

Review 94:The Booking.com and hotel communication. I had booked a three night stay a good long time ago. I then had to reduce my stay to 1 night. I cancelled with Booking.com "change" option the Friday and Sunday nights. When I got to the hotel I had been cancelled and charged as "no show" for the Friday night!! Big hassle

Review 95:Horribly, horribly outdated. The place has an old smell to it; very funky. The shower and sink faucets feel like they're always about to break when you use them. When I brought this up with the front desk, I was simply told to tell them if it breaks. Apparently this is a common thing. The breakfast was shabby, the rooms were noisy, the beds and pillows were hard as stones, and overall it was a dump.

Review 96:Location and price are decent, all things considered. It's close to CU and easy to get anywhere else with buses. A good place to crash very temporarily, but that's about it.

Review 97:breakfast was just ok, there was were no different kinds of food; staff were nice but it seemed they were not used to foreigner people, so they´re not sensitive to foreigner needs

Review 98:room was pretty good wifi had a good sign all over the hotel

Review 99:The place was filthy - mold in the shower and don't even look behind the bed. The hall carpets were buckling and filthy. The TV reception was terrible. The bathroom sink leaked. The room was deactivated every day and required re-setting. The breakfast was horrible. There is no place to leave valuables - no in-room safe and the front desk will not hold anything. I will not stay here again and suggest you don't either.

Review 100:Not much

Review 101:The breakfast could be much better. I always had to request for my room to be cleaned, and at least 2 times, it still wasnt until i started informing the desk staff.

Review 102:I particularly liked the large rooms, the location was excellent, the desk staff were friendly, including the lady at breakfast. I also liked the free Tean and Coffee always at the reception.

Review 103:Dirty room and blankets. someone else's leftover coffee and grounds. Rinky dink continental breakfast. Stuffy smell. It's really a shame. The owners have a real opportunity to turn this old gem into a nice place with just a little elbow grease, new bedspreads, a real cleaning staff, and some pride of ownership. Didn't expect a luxury hotel, but cleanliness IS expected.

Review 104:Old charm of the original Broker Inn.

Review 105:The property is dirty and rundown. The elevator was broken, my husband had to fix the tv and the hallways smell terrible.

Review 106:The beds were comfortable.

Review 107:Love the staff - front desk woman is wonderful

Review 108:It is very close to University of Colorado Boulder where our son is studying.

Review 109:Everything was excellent.

Review 110:Amenities, breakfast, location & quietness of hotel.

Review 111:Antiquated plumbing.

Review 112:Plentiful towels. courteous staff.

Review 113:It's across the street from our son's university dorm.

Review 114:Age of the building

Review 115:Exercise area

Review 116:Because of its location near the CU campus, it was a little noisy on the weekend.

Review 117:Clean rooms. Very helpful staff. Good location in Boulder.

Review 118:The facility is a little out dated.

Review 119:The facility was in a great location for my needs.

Review 120:great rate and location perfect

Review 121:NA

Review 122:Friendly people

Review 123:So convenient to downtown&sights, yet very quiet location. So easy to get to Hwy to Denver and Denver airport

Review 124:It was old & kinda run down

Review 125:Location was good

Review 126:The building as a whole. A cool building, especially for a young couple.

Review 127:Arm chair was truly disgustingly dirty. Dark room. Hair in shower. I don't mind older properties but dirty is unacceptable.

Review 128:Old, run down building, trashy parking area

Review 129:The staff was very nice there.
