Reviews for Yosemite Nights Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:The only problem that we had was that we always arrived in the dark and it was tricky to find the inn which is in a rather remote location. This was more our problem and our pitiful sense of direction.
Review 2:The breakfast was outstanding. There is the added entertainment of the deer and birds that come to feed at the time of we were eating. It was fun to meet fellow guests from different countries. The owners were were extremely helpful with directions and suggestions.
Review 3:- Our bed in the 'family' room was a bit soft, we prefer a firm mattress. The mattress in the room 'the retreat' was better.
Review 4:- Montie and Ruth Ann (owners) are great! They provide you with detailed hiking and travel suggestions during your stay and are very helpful. During our stay of 3 nights we felt like being at home with our own family. - Montie feeds the hummingbirds, deers and other birds in the morning in front of the window of the breakfast room. Therefore you have a spectacular view during breakfast! - Breakfast is very good, it varies each day and has fresh fruit. There was always more then you could eat! - The B&B is located 15 minutes from Mariposa and therefore it is very calm and you can get a good sleep. - Mariposa is very nice and has all the facilities you need. - The location of the B&B is good because there aren't any hotels in Yosemite NP and other hotels near the NP are at least a 1 hour drive and more expensive and the most important is that you don't experience the stay that we had at this B&B. I am sure that we will remember this stay forever, that good!
Review 5:An hour and a half drive to the Yosemite valley and nearly 2 hours to glacier point (a bit further than we had expected)
Review 6:Fantastic hosts giving great advice on how to make the most of Yosemite. Amazing breakfast every morning complete with wild animals outside the windows!
Review 7:Ruth Ann and Montie are very nice people - they were polite and friendly, provided recommendations about hiking trails and their breakfast was the best we had during our trip in California. We really enjoyed stay at their B&B - it is a calm and quiet place away from the city and close to the nature (they have feeders for deer and birds). Highly recommend!
Review 8:Truly nothing but in the interests of doing a proper review, the only thing that I realised is the sheer size of the area and the distance into some of the walks. In reality it is the same all around the park and if you get up early you can hit your trail in good time.
Review 9:Beautiful location. My wife and I have travelled California and this was the place for us. We really liked Mariposa as it has history and feels like 'real America' if you know what I mean. As for the b&b we were so comfortable, the room was large and clean with modern decor. Huge bed and large bathroom which was nice after some of our previous stops. The hosts are just superb with fountains of knowledge and so much time for their guests. Personal favourite hike was the one that goes to sentinel dome and Taft point. Try savourys in Mariposa for food!
Review 10:The bedroom was very cramped and the bathroom, although private, was not en-suite so you need to put on a bathrobe (provided). I think some of their bedrooms are en-suite but ours wasn't. The approach to it is terrible - I almost turned away before going in. The outside looks like something from the backwoods. The inside is much nicer. Way overpriced for the facilities.
Review 11:The owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was homemade, delicious and plentiful.
Review 12:Bedroom window was right outside the patio and needed to shut window due to the noise of the other guests. Also, did not like breakfast at 7 am just because 1 of the guests wanted to hike early. The offer to keep the food in the microwave was not appealing. One guest should NOT set the time or there should have been a compromise ie one morning at 7 and the next at 8.
Review 13:The breakfasts were fantastic and the owners were helpful and delightful.
Review 14:We stayed with Ruth Ann and Montie for a week while we hiked all over Yosemite. It was wonderful to have a comfortable bed and a clean room to come back to each night, and wonderful breakfasts in the morning. After seeing the craziness in Yosemite Valley, I was happy that we could get away from it all at night and eat at the local Mariposa restaurants. They provided great tips on where to go hiking, and were excited to hear about our adventures. You will not be disappointed if you stay here! Highly Recommended!
Review 15:Great accommodation and very nice place to stay. Breakfast was excellent and Ruth and monty couldn't have been more helpful would definitely recommend.
Review 16:Far away from the closest town (mariposa)(7 mile), remote. Initially were surprised with the location. AC did not work the second night, I guess it was centrally controlled.
Review 17:Host family attitude and help. Very special and different home made breakfast. Room size and facilities were satisfactory. WIFI good.
Review 18:Small room with paper thin walls so you can distinctly hear everythingyour neighbours say and do in their rooms or bathroom. No control overheating/aircon (apparently it is shared between 2 rooms and thecontrol located in the other room). Noisy hvac (shared by all rooms butlocated in ours). Breakfast strictly at 8am and you share the tablewith all other guests. Also for some weird reason one of the male hosts"broke into" our room 2 hours before our checkout time whileI was in the shower and my wife was still in bed. In spite of the factthat she was repeatedly saying "wait a minute!" while thehost was trying to unlock the door (and our car was just outside theroom). Creepy.
Review 19:Good bed Clean room with ok shower Good wifi
Review 20:Not really close to Yosemite National Park and you will have to drive 15 minutes to downtown Mariposa
Review 21:Nice hosts, amazing fresh breakfast served every morning
Review 22:Bed too soft. Thin walls No maintenance but maybe there would have been if we stayed longer
Review 23:Charming place. Very friendly hosts. Fantastic breakfast. Can recommend Restaurant CHARLES in Miraposa
Review 24:The only negative was running out of TP...and seriously, if that is your only negative, you had a great stay!
Review 25:Our hosts were great! I thought I had been there, done that with regards to Yosemite, Ruthann advice took me to completely new awe inspiring heights! Our trip was made unforgettable by following her advice...the bed was comfy and the rooms cute.. Make sure to get out early on their property to enjoy the deer that wander through the yard. Food was good, different and interesting...I even came home with a recipe...and the OJ....oh the OJ....yummmmmmyyy
Review 26:A little far from mariposa' s center
Review 27:Amazing hosts, helped us a lot planning our day Hikes in Yosemite. Breakfast was amazing, the wide selection of food. The treatment we receive was beyond our expections.
Review 28:loved it but some people may not like remoteness.
Review 29:clean quaint facility.owners are the icing on the cake.great advice from them about Yosemite and super breakfast provided.off beaten track but all the better for it.
Review 30:Their wifi does not work on some devices, it's not like you need it out there so who cares? :p
Review 31:The b&b is a bit out of town and it's quite a drive to Yosemite. We knew this when we booked it and with the accom we saw in the park it's absolutely worth it!! You get an amazing home cooked breakfast, a very good bed and clean room with everything you need during your stay. Ruth and Monty really want you to have a good time, so they take time to share what they know about the park. Gave us some great advice and helped us planning our days in the park. We definitely got the most out of our trip thanks to them! When you get back tired from the park they welcome you in their home and they are very interested to hear what you experienced, what you have done and are very excited to see the photo's you took in the park. This is not just an accommodation to stay at, it will be your home. And after these few days you'll have a sad feeling about leaving and can't wait to go back! Thanks heaps for having us, it's been an amazing experience!
Review 32:Gave great advice on what to do to make the most of the time we had. This included advice before we even reached the bed and breakfast recommending things to do on our way. A great place to stay with great hosts!
Review 33:wifi is very slow. breakfast is served freshly made at 7.30 for you to set off early , if you have a lie in they will warm it up for you
Review 34:Ruth Ann and Monty were lovely hosts and had great knowledge of the area. 20 mins drive to Mariposa town where there are restaurants. Very personal touch and nice rooms with everything you need. we had to leave at 7.30 and they made breakfast for 7am, very accommodating.
Review 35:It was great staying with locals away from the usual tourist traps. Ruth-Ann and Montie were fantastic hosts, with lots of useful ideas of where to go in and around Yosemite. The Falls room was comfortable and a nice temperature, fine for 2 adults, 2 teenagers. Breakfast was an experience of home cooked items, different on the 2 days we stayed and they took care to cater for 2 veggies in the group. We were even offered doggy-bags for the delicious zuccini/banana bread to enjoy on our days out. It was a very relaxing environment after busy days out in Yosemite. We loved watching the humming birds at the feeders too.
Review 36:a/c control in other room with no access. too hot both nights. ceiling fan ticking noise, ruth ann knows about it but should fix it.
Review 37:Ruth Ann very helpful and wanted us to have a great stay. very informative on the park and location of everything. breakfast was a 9. plenty of food. room had everything you need.
Review 38:Hard to find and adds extra miles to trip to Yosemite but once you have driven it a few times, can find it quickly. Walls are thin between bedrooms.
Review 39:Friendly hosts and great breakfasts! Room was large and clean.
Review 40:The location was not that great and there was no pavement to the house. There was no Wifi as advertised - at least I was not able to connect to it. The breakfast was served at 7:30 in order for all the guests to socialize. However, we were very tired after being on the road for the past 11-12 days and could not make it so had to skip breakfast the 2nd morning. The accommodation is very overpriced compared to all the other places we have stayed at.
Review 41:The hosts were helpful and the comfort of the beds was great.
Review 42:The couple that runs this B&B are very welcoming and friendly -- you'll be greeted with a warm hug! The food they cook for breakfast is delicious and hearty and they will go out of your way to accommodate you during your stay. They are happy to pack your breakfast if you can't make it the next day and provided great tips about Yosemite and hiking half dome. We stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and fridge which were perfect during our stay. There was a king bed in the room and a pull out sofa bed in the living room as well as a TV.
Review 43:It would have been very good location if we did not need to return many times a long way between the park ans the location of the B&B
Review 44:The people were very helpful and friendly. Ruth is an amazing person and full of energy
Review 45:The location was a bit far (it took us an hour to reach Yosemite) and out of the way (the GPS took us to a neighbor's house somewhere down the road). The walls between our room and the next were very thin, so that we could hear each other's conversations (and other noises).
Review 46:Ruth Ann and Montie Dragoo of Yosemite Nights Bed and Breakfast are some of the nicest, most hospitable people you will ever meet. The room was modern and comfortable, and the house itself was charming. The breakfast, however, was the best part. All the good food you could imagine and more! We hardly even had to eat dinner :) This is the best place I have ever stayed, and I hope to be back one day :)

Review 58:The location is not the best. It took longer to get to Yosemite than we expected.
Review 59:The owners and their family were great. Breakfast was fantastic.
Review 60:If you are visiting Yosemite, this is a good hour of arduous driving from the park. Pay the extra and stay IN the park.
Review 61:Very nice freshly prepared breakfast Friendly and informative hosts Comfy bed Scenic area
Review 62:too far away from Yosemite NP & Mariposa Downtown
Review 63:Room & Breakfast, very nice people
Review 64:the wonderful sky at night the location the hospitality the breakfast made with love
Review 65:a place where you feel like home. the breakfast is excellent
Review 66:The place is 15 min drive from the city. Ants in the bathroom. The aircondition shared for two rooms.
Review 67:The room was comfortable. The owner is very nice
Review 68:Having to leave
Review 69:Breakfast Friendliness Local advice
Review 70:Price relatively high. Facilities little out dated, but stillcomfortable. Noise of hvac too high.
Review 71:Owners very friendly.
Review 72:Extra bed (couch/bed) not very comfortable
Review 73:Home made breakfast, very nice people, bbq facility, 45 minute drive from Yosemite NP
Review 74:Wonderful hosts. Great cooking, loved the bountiful breakfast of such a variety of dishes. Enjoyed relaxing on the porch with them in the evening. Great place.
Review 75:the remote location and it takes some time to get to the National Park, but that's really the only negative thing.

Review 77:Hosts made effort to contact us right after our booking and gave us tips on travelling around yosemite national park. Breakfast was excellent. Homely feeling. Very clean and comfortable room.
Review 78:The only thing I dislike is the location. It was hard to find and kind of creepy at first, but kinds neighbors directed us to the right place.
Review 79:The owners were wonderful. They were personable, welcoming, and attentive. The rooms were immaculate, which made for a worry free stay.
Review 80:It was a little out of the way (on a dirt road) for driving into town for dinner.
Review 81:The family was very hospitable, the room was clean, and the breakfast was excellent.
Review 82:No cell phone service for (my) phone....but not their fault....
Review 83:Breakfast was amazing! Ruth and Monte such gracious hosts and helpful as to where to go & what to see around Yosemite. No noisey neighbors. Very quiet and lovely.

Review 86:Everything was goid
Review 87:Room was spotless bed was comfortable the breakfasts were outstanding the best I ever had in any bed and breakfast the owners were do nice treated us like we were family
Review 88:It was a little deeper into the countryside and further to travel to Yosemite National Park than anticipated - but would still recommend as a place not to miss if you're planning on staying in this part of California.
Review 89:This is different to the usual Hotel/B&B, all in a good way. This is a homely personal and very welcoming place to stay. The owners are attentive but not overbearing, very friendly and so great hosts. The breakfast is AWESOME, both in terms of the real American food and sociable occasion it creates. We really enjoyed our short stay and would recommend if your looking for the non-corporate, small and individual experience.
Review 90:remote location, an additional 8-miles-drive from Mariposa.
Review 91:nice hosts, very friendly and helpful. rich and tasty breakfast. nice and spacy room. the general information should contain the information, that guest-rooms have access only through the hosts living room, this could be important for someones choice. however, hosts welcomed us warmly, even after late arrival! many thanks for those 3 wonderful days!
Review 92:The inn was a little daunting to find after dark, as it was out in thecountryside a bit. However, Mapquest gave very accurate directions.
Review 93:The room was extremely clean/comfortable for my son and I. Thebreakfasts were absolutely wonderful! We really enjoyed theconversations at the breakfast table with other guests--and the hosts. We enjoyed the family atmosphere, and we fell in love with the 2family cats.
Review 94:Distance from the park entrance(s) can be daunting for foreigners and location away from the main road can cause some nervousness.
Review 95:Hosts are friendly, humorous and people-person. Breakfast are generous in portion and very tasty, fit for a good walk on trails in Yosemite Park. Room is thoughtfully furnished and bathroom is very practical. Host will accommodate your needs graciously.
