Reviews for Hotel Boulderado

Review 1:More pillows needed. Only two, extremely mushy pillows. If you can't walk well, make sure they know at check-in so that you can get a room close by; there's a long walk otherwise.

Review 2:Beautiful hotel!! Historic. Staff very helpful. The restaurant in the hotel is wonderful.

Review 3:Rooms are small, and very very loud. The walls are paper-thin. Expensive for the amenities provided.

Review 4:Great location, the lobby is beautiful and historic.

Review 5:Parking a hassle. No choice but to use valet.

Review 6:The old building with the modern touches was very nice. Many attractions within close walking distance

Review 7:I would have liked a small refrigerator in my room.

Review 8:Excellent location. Service from all staff above and beyond my expectations. Hotel has so much character. Looking forward to my next stay.

Review 9:You do not give out free bottles of water and you are in the desert heatof the summer a joke and insulting for a $300+ a night facility

Review 10:Character of hotel

Review 11:Nothing.

Review 12:Staff was AMAZING! From the front desk to valet, not to mention our server at the restaurant! Beds were comfortable everything was so clean.

Review 13:Carrying my suitcase down the stairs. I know I could have asked for help, but it was just easier to do it myself. An elevator all the way down to main floor would be nice.

Review 14:The staff was awesome! Loved the vallet parking, gift shop with coupon, the atmosphere, and the License 1 lounge had amazing features. It was the perfect place to help my daughter celebrate her 26th birthday! Thank you!

Review 15:This hotel is a wonderful place. It is located in the heart of Boulder and there is great deal of activity in the area. The staff were wonderful and helpful.

Review 16:Nothing. The valet guys were constantly busy, but were attentive to all guests. The hotel is old, but in fantastic shape (yet not completely modernized).

Review 17:Free valet parking was great. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Location is great for mall and other things centrally located in Boulder. View of Flatirons and Flagstaff from 4th our floor room was terrific. Loved riding in the old origional elevator and all the other origional pieces still kept in the hotel.

Review 18:Four flights up to our room because the elevator is also historic!

Review 19:Pretty historic hotel in downtown Boulder with lots of shops, restaurants around the corner.

Review 20:Leaving, but honestly I had a grin on my face in the photo so I would have to say I was satisfied!

Review 21:It's the center of the most happening place in Boulder! Old world quality and service, fine dining, sexy basement liquor bar, all just a few steps from the cultural center of Colorado's most unique and beautiful city. I don't believe I have ever been more satisfied with a hotel stay in my life, and I have visited some of great ones. It's the modern westerners version of the Waldorf Astoria, but small enough to tender truly fine service to each of its clients. I loved it!!!

Review 22:The restaurant Spruce was terrible. Wait staff inattentive and unresponsive. Food arrived cold not room temperature but cold. Was heated but became unpalatable. Will not return to restaurant again.

Review 23:Hotel was quiet and restful.

Review 24:Located in Downtown Boulder, this hotel is a turn of the century gem! All the rooms were elegant, and very comfortable. Great location right off of Pearl Street, close to boutique shopping. Great meal in the restaurant, and loved the live entertainment in the bar.

Review 25:The large fans at the backside of the hotel are very noisy. They should be damped, otherwise it is difficult to sleep with the window open on that side of the hotel.

Review 26:The location is second to none, the atmosphere is great, and the service is extraordinary. Staying here makes you feel like you have experienced Boulder in a true and deep way.

Review 27:The room was dark. The heating system had no functioning control.

Review 28:I liked the combination of modern aspects with an historic setting. Cleanliness of room was exceptional.

Review 29:The rates were a touch pricey but it is the holiday season, which is to be expected.

Review 30:The location was excellent. The service staff were helpful. The room was spacious, beds were comfortable.

Review 31:The thermostat fluctuated between 77' and 60'! A/c clicked on / off all nite waking us up

Review 32:Location & staff. Very polite & responsive

Review 33:Location and staff great! Configuration of our guest room location was a bit of a maze, but we finally got there! Clean, not plush. For a landmark historic hotel, I expected nicer room and amenities.

Review 34:We stayed in the 'new' north wing. The interior design is badly dated. It feels like you're at a creepy Grandparent's house. I believe the vibe they are going for is old country. But what they have is uncomfortable. It's a hotel full of history in an awesome location but the interior really needs to be updated.

Review 35:The bed was really comfortable.

Review 36:Very old hotel--they say historic, but can use a lot of upgrade. Very old room and amenities and poorly maintained. Also not a good value.

Review 37:Location, if you'd like to be near the Pearl Street and center of Boulder

Review 38:View in pricey King Suite was of the huge crane and workers replacing the roof. Also, due to construction the restaurant had a limited breakfast menu, tho the food we did have was fine.

Review 39:Location great for walking the mall and the staff was quite nice.

Review 40:Extremely over priced for one night even though it was a Saturday. It was supposed to be a good deal because if the construction but over $200 for one night with all that construction is not worth it. Will look into the more modern St. Julien next time. Also, no on site amenities! I didn't want to go down the street for a massage. This was my ONE weekend a year without kids. Overall pretty disappointed.

Review 41:I love the historical beauty and location

Review 42:The Boulderado is centrally located with walking access to the Pearl Street mall and many other nearby restaurants. While the hotel is a historic Colorado building it is far more comfortable than most other historic hotels. The rooms are larger at the Boulderado and the facilities in the rooms are all updated to provide modern comfort with the historic Colorado feel of the hotel.

Review 43:Current renovations of the front are cumbersome and unsightly. Notified of this at the eleventh hour. Too late to make changes on a weekend. This did not spoil our visit however.

Review 44:Location. Hotel beautifully preserved. Restaurants delicious. Room attractive tho small. Wifi worked well , no extra charge

Review 45:Some staff were less than eager to be of service, as they were a bit young, but that was only a few of them. Most staff were professional and courteous.

Review 46:It's a lovely hotel, comfortable beds and temperature controls in the room, and it was a very quiet room. Excellent location for getting to dining, and convenient valet parking.

Review 47:Everyone was friendly from the moment we got to valet to the time of check out. The hotel was amazing inside, comfortable and unique. The wood work and original elevator was a show stopper. Our happy hour and dinner at The Corner Bar (party of 15)was DELISCIOUS and the waitress was great! The hotel accommodated a service dog. We loved the room service and the awesome bell men. Overall great great place. Glad we chose this over St Julien. :D

Review 48:A little tired - rooms could use some updates

Review 49:Location and nostalgia

Review 50:attentive personell

Review 51:Property was very well maintained and staff were very friendly.

Review 52:Booking.com reservation was not received so the manager had to make an exception and provide reservation

Review 53:Great place all around

Review 54:All good

Review 55:Very accommodating. Put in request for king bed in old section and they made it happen.

Review 56:Difficult building to navigate, with multiple staircases and elevators to get to our room.

Review 57:Location, staff, and restaurants

Review 58:even it was a four star hotel but the service inside the rooms were same as five star hotel

Review 59:Good location

Review 60:Very helpful staff.

Review 61:Loved the Corner Bar and Spruce. Food was excellent.

Review 62:Great location Beautiful hotel Friendly staff

Review 63:Very friendly staff, excellent location. You really feel you are back in time.

Review 64:in room wifi not so good

Review 65:Great location, good staff, restaurant food good, generous rooms

Review 66:Much overpriced

Review 67:Good service, good location, incredibly beautiful city

Review 68:Staying in the room in the north wing

Review 69:The thought of staying at the hotel

Review 70:It takes ages to get to my suite.

Review 71:location

Review 72:Location and historical building

Review 73:Being so close to Pearl street

Review 74:Seeing a band at the boulder theater

Review 75:beautiful old building

Review 76:Wish there was more sitting room around the lobby.

Review 77:Cozy. Great service.

Review 78:Nothing

Review 79:Everything

Review 80:Rooms were outdated and the price too high for what you get

Review 81:Old landmark hotel with a nice restaurant

Review 82:No complaints.

Review 83:Dining room was excellent. Valet parking was excellent.

Review 84:loved the decor & ambiance, the simple comfort of the room, cotton sheets, firm mattress really enjoyed 2 meals in Spice Restaurant

Review 85:They accommodated our every need.

Review 86:Tiny dated rooms. Awful linens. No mini bar. At almost $300 a night, you should have a mini bar.

Review 87:Valet parking friendly staff large rooms access to off premise gym

Review 88:a little noisy due to events in public areas

Review 89:General ambiance, location

Review 90:Our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Perfect choice for a trip to Boulder.

Review 91:location ambiance old world style

Review 92:-room location was slightly noisy

Review 93:-location -charm -food -room and amenities -valet service

Review 94:Not free parking

Review 95:Location Old hotel so antic

Review 96:Our room had a view of the dumpster

Review 97:We got there late and wanted something to eat and the choices were few.

Review 98:Rooms were a good size and beds very comfortable

Review 99:We were not told in advance about the construction.

Review 100:Front desk staff

Review 101:Front desk staff not very friendly--both times we have stayed in last 2 months. They don;t seem too happy. Other staff is great!

Review 102:Location & ambience as well as Q restaurant & Corner Bar.

Review 103:Minor issue of the complication of getting to our room - up in an old elevator that had to be run by a staff member, then cross a "skybridge," then into another elevator to reach our floor, then a hike to the room. Not a big deal, but a bit inconvenient.

Review 104:Fantastic staff. Every single person we dealt with treated us with the utmost friendliness, helpfulness, and consideration. Could not have asked for more. Also, it was a lovely place to stay physically. Be sure to check out the lobby ceiling!

Review 105:I wished we could have gotten in earlier, but on the other hand, they allowed us a late check out, so I understand why check in is later.

Review 106:It is in a very centrally located part of Boulder. We were able to walk to the Pearl Street Mall and anywhere we wanted to go for food.

Review 107:Major social/eating events can be heard at least throughout the old part of the hotel, because of where party/dining area is situated. That was disturbing --loud. We happen to hit one of those weekends.

Review 108:Restoration of old hotel very well done; rooms very comfortable (in old section),staff was particularly attentive.

Review 109:My bed was not comfortable; the pillows were horrendous. Front desk staff were very rude the morning of my departure, but generally helpful most of the time. I don't like how you are forced to valet park your car. There is no self-park.

Review 110:The location is wonderful, and the hotel has such a history. The beautifully preserved woodwork and stained glass ceiling will leave you feeling as though you stepped back in time. Q's restaurant has great food and the staff there are very friendly.

Review 111:We liked everything at this hotel.

Review 112:Loved the old time style and furnishings of this hotel. Beautifully decorated. The rooms were very spacious in size.

Review 113:This is a beautiful hotel. Walking into it made feel as if I were going back in time and I could imagine how the guests were dressed and really felt special. One has to appreciate our history when they stay here.

Review 114:It's all good so hard to find fault. I found the room on the dark side. Also the coffee machine had seen better days, but it still worked, just a bit quirky.

Review 115:A beautiful old hotel and we loved staying there. The Christmas tree and decorations were beautiful. The staff were helpful and polite. The location is great, lots of places to eat within walking distance. Breakfast was not included in the price, but was really good!

Review 116:The desk clerks never smiled and didn't seem approachable. The suite was very nice other than it could use some updating. The bathroom was inconvenient as there were not shelves or countertops to use for cosmetic bags and the shelves that are there are too small.

Review 117:Everyone was very accomodating. Restaurants were great.

Review 118:I have stayed at the Boulderado two other times and had excellent rooms for the same price. This time the room was smaller, view was in the court yard, was more updated vs vintage feel. Felt more like a regular hotel room except for the wall paper and bedspread. Disappointed since one of the reasons to go there is to get a feel for the past with the furniture, size, elegance, and history.

Review 119:Love the hotel itself, the history, vintage, 100+ year old elevator, stairs, furniture, timeless items preserved from its inception (phones in the lobby, the safe behind the check in desk). Always enjoy breakfast by the windows in the "porch" area and walking distance to the Pearl Street Mall.
