Review 1：The area close to everything.. But the oven didn't work bdrm tv needed service you could see thru the door maintenance had to come do work. Not enuff wash clothes..
Review 2：The room had bedbugs. It was horrible they moved us to another room but it still had bedbugs and I couldn't cancel because I would have had to pay $116 to cancel my stay.

Review 4：3 attempts to get in room upon arrival. Poor service-Cleaning and making up room. Poor understanding of persons needs. Had to slam door to get it to latch. Needs upgrading.

Review 6：One of our outlets didn't work so the alarm clock and two lights in the bedroom didn't work. It would sporadically start working sometimes. No wash cloths in the room. The door to the room was a pain to shut, we came back to the room once and the door was cracked open. Nothing was stolen so I think it was just the door. Elevator sounded like it was on the verge of breaking.

Review 24：We only have 2 complaints. One complaint was supplies not being stocked every day. One day we had dish towels the next we didn't. The first day we had coffee, but not the others. Our biggest complaint was the beds were so hard we did not get much sleep.

Review 26：the person( name Matthew) attitude was horrible to us when we got to the Motel. We booked on line and nothing we though we was getting was available. In the ruddiest way possible he told us it was off season and there was none of the supplies that was listed was available to use. He told us either go to the room or get out or he would call the police. We ended up going to Walmart spending $20.44 for things to get us through the stay. The most pleasant part of our stay was meeting Paul. He was the only thing; as far as staff: that helped us get through the week. He should have been the manager. ;

Review 28：The beds are in a separate room in the back.there was no plates or cookware in the room as advertised was told they are removed because it was off season...the parking could be more organized no clearly marked lane to get out from the sea side of the parking lot
Review 29：The first room we were assigned reaked of stale cigarette smoke, they changed our room the next morning and it was much better. They advertise a fully equipped kitchen, and there was not a single plate, pan, spoon in the room....nothing! When I asked they claimed they were renovating and removed all their kitchen supplies. They didn't offer any assistance, suggestions, or compensation for this inconvenience. I live on a very restricted diet (for health reasons) so this was the sole purpose I chose this location. Luckily we had family nearby and were able to borrow any of the necessities. We asked for 2 extra blankets (one for each bed) and they brought us 1 large comforter! Don't expect too much with this place.

Review 31：This hotel is a diamond in the rough. It shows it's age in the building structure but the beauty of it is in the staff, cleanliness and spacious rooms and location. It is a gem of a find!

The place was definitely worse for wear and inconvenient with an antiquated snail slow elevator and a cramped lobby. Parking was a nightmare. Very unhappy. An outrageous price for less than a days stay and a poor experience. Will not be back!

When we went to check out they denied our refund, saying we had a discounted rate for 3 nights, we had booked for 7 nights and nowhere did it show a 3 night discount. Also, rates were higher this year then they've ever been in the 21 years we've been coming,

Review 46：I was scheduled to check-out Oct 2, 2015 but because of the upcoming bad weather I decided to leave Oct 1, 2015. I was told I could not get a refund because the hotel needed a 72 hour notice. The governor of Virginia declared a state of emergency on Oct 1, 2015 so I thought it best to leave before the weather got worse... I would have been satisfied if I could have gotten credit on a future stay. My safety was of uppermost importance that's why I left. Would do it again if circumstances were the same...

Review 48：Pull-out bed was very uncomfortable and the sheets wouldn't stay on the bed. No morning breakfast.

Review 50：Couch is not very comfortable. Since the weather was bad, spent more time in the room than usual. Some throw pillows for the couch would help with comfort level. The blinds in the bedroom do not block out the street lights at night. A blackout shade would be better for the bedroom window.
Review 51：The staff was very helpful and friendly. Suite was spacious. One of our suitcases fell off the luggage cart due the gusty winds and the staff ran out to help us get our belongings into the lobby. Super sweet of them. Housekeeping provided excellent service.

Review 55：The first 2 nights that we were there. A car alarm constantly went offthrough the night. Donald approached the owner of the car the secondnight. And told him we were there for a getaway and was far from gettingthe rest that we needed. I am a caregiver for my brother and had lost mynephew in June at the age of 32. And was in desperate need of some peaceand relaxation. When Donald confronted the desk clerk about it she saidshe hadn't heard the alarm and then said that they had contacted hisroom. And no one answered. And some one was knocking on our window shesaid it was another person that was staying there trying to find outwho's car it was. Donald also went to front desk to get some washcloths because the housekeeper didn't leave us any on Sunday . Theydid not have any clean but one . that they would bring some up shortly.He went back down hours later. And they pulled 2 out of the dryer. Iwould say that this place has some issues. That need to be addressed.Would not recommend staying there to anyone.

Review 74：The elevator worked better than other visits but it should be improved with a better look and definitely a "better and safe installed" rug. Myself and other almost felt getting into the elevator. Others with wheel chair or luggage cart not being able to get into or get out of the elevator. The whole reception is too small ( especially at check in and check out t times). The floors in each level (outside the rooms) needs a better cleaning and not garbage beside the elevator door. Swimming pool area needs a better cleaning of the floor, chairs and bottom. Removing leaves is not enough.

Review 97：We called for early check in and the hotel was having key issue problems. We actually didn't get our key until 8 that night. The staff handled it so well when faced with many complaining customers and accommodated us by opening our door when we returned from dinner. The older lady and the younger guy with long hair were especially nice! The maintenance man was especially nice also.
Review 98：While the female housekeepers and female desk clerks were friendly and accommodating, the male employees were not helpful in assisting guest with getting the hotels old and wobbly carts in and out of the front door of the hotel and onto the single elevator that is at this hotel. I strongly urge the hotel management to purchase new luggage carts. I only saw 2 carts during my 5 day stay, one was broken and difficult to push and the other had 3 wheels which were the same size and 1 wheel was an entirely different size. When I began cooking breakfast on the 2nd morning at the hotel a large roach greeted me on the kitchen wall. Fortunately, that was the only roach seen during our stay. The elevator floor and public areas of the hotel need to be cleaned on a regular basis. The elevator floor waa dirty and sticky and on the 2nd floor in front of the elevator, there was a strong odor of urine at 3:00 pm.
Review 99：Because this hotel is on the boardwalk and the beach is steps away, the location is excellent. The kitchen is equipped with a modern 4 burner cooktop,oven, microwave,2 slice toaster, a dorm size frig and small freezer area. There was a nice set of cookware and plates bowls glasses and utensils for 6 people.The housekeeping staff was very accommodating when we needed towells, kitchen utensils not already in the kitchen.The veds and couches were clean and comfortable and the bathroom fixtures were modern and in working order. Because we has 3 kids and 2 adults in our party,the washers and dryers aided in our not bringing dirty sand filled clothes home with us. This hotel is not fancy but included enough amenities for us to enjoy our beach vacation.
Review 100：They had my car towed even though it was registered to hotel. Refused to pay the towing. $145. Had to walk a mile to get the car. Very rude woman working the desk that day. Fan in the back by the balcony was so loud you couldn't enjoy being out there. Would not stay again.

Review 102：It was dirty. Loud. You could hardly sleep because the noise outside was so loud. The whole place needs a renovation. The shower feels like you're surfing because there's dirty water trapped underneath the bathtub. If you had a rip in the tub (we did) than you can see the water come out and it smells awful. We were there three nights and our room only got cleaned once. Also booking.com did not tell us they would charge us a $5 a day resort fee. That was deceptive. For coffee in your room, there was no cream or sugar just one bag of out of a single coffee maker. The elevator for a place with 7 floors is so dirty and small - there's a max of 5 people each time. What??! Find another hotel.

Review 104：Our room was directly in front of the hotel's LARGE outside air conditioning unit. We could barely hear each other talking when we sat on the patio. The elevator was a joke....1 elevator for the whole hotel...had to wait forever to get on.....very old and rickety. When we were leaving we waited for it to go all the way up and back down 4 times before we could get on with the luggage cart. My clothes were soaking wet with sweat from standing outside the elevator waiting for it. We probably won't stay there again......it's a shame because as I said before it was a nice and comfortable room but the elevator and the outside air conditioner unit in front of us really screwed it up. Review 106：Loud music as if the band was in the room until 11:00. There were no pots and pans in the kitchen and a one cup coffee maker. We had two forks, two butter knives, two teaspoons and two tablespoons. There was a dish strainer but nothing to wash dishes with. The fridge was also a mini one and I expected a full size. Virginia beach seems to be for singles, not for people with young children.

Review 110：Room was not ready by 4 PM. Kitchen had a water leak and maintenance was working on the problem. Carpet was wet where water had run across the floor. Got off to a bad start of our stay, but everything worked out in the end.

Can get loud bc of busy street, nothing to do with the hotel itself, so just bring ear plugs. It's not a fancy place, which I like. It's a perfect "middle of the road" kind of place.
Review 118：The staff was very friendly. I was able to check in 3 hours earlier. I liked the size of my suite. I could hear the air conditioning unit but it really did not bother me. I did tell them when I left that my main door would not lock. I could open it by pushing on it without using the card. I wanted them to be aware of it. i had a very pleasant visit.

Review 120：Only 1 elevator did prove to be challenging however, it did move faster as compared to a similar hotel. Some quests were not quite as respectful.

Review 122：The bath tub was stuck at first arrival. The trash cans next to the elevator stink and were not removed on time when it were fullfilled. The sofa is too old and has a bad odor that we did not dare to sit on it. The generator is always loud eventhough we were on the 7th floor when we open the door to the balcony, we can hardly hear the TV sound. Last but not least the elevator was broken on the day we checked out and had to wait for more than an hour to take all the luggage down and it's hard when you have someone of 96 years old. Think about if it was broken while we were in the elevator? and this is the only elevator (capacity of 5 persons) for the whole hotel.

The light fixture caught on fire....luckily we werein the room to unplug it or the entire hotel may have burned down! Theywere so concerned they apologized, replaced the lamp and offered us a$40.00 discount on an additional nights stay....severely disappointed inthe management of this hotel.
Review 130：The safe in our room was beyond repair. The refrigerator barely functions, and most electrical outlets in our room did not work. The Wi-Fi provided kept disconnecting us from the network, forcing us to reconnect several times. There is only one small elevator for the whole building.
Review 131：I like the fact that the bldg is ocean front with private balcony, and there's a neat boardwalk and separate bike path. They have friendly staff. The hotel is within walking distance of stores and amusement centers and just few miles to the aquarium.
Review 132：When we walked in and open the fridge it smelt like fish and it never went away. The tub sunk in and I felt like I was going to fall through. Some of our "clean" towels were dirty and the blankets on the bed were torn and not very comfortable
