Reviews for Best Western Plus Yosemite Way Station
Review 1:Breakfast facilities were poor, with too few staff, no table clean-up, too few tables.
Review 2:Easy to find, provided first floor room as requested. Walking distance to restaurants, etc..
Review 3:I will request a room in the back next time we come here. Quiet room until in the morning, when the traffic started going by.
Review 4:The breakfast choices. Lisa was really helpful during our stay, when we were having breakfast.
Review 5:Nothing.
Review 6:Location is right outside Yosemite. Takes 45 mins to get to the valley floor. Mariposa is a nice town with plenty of places to eat. Pizza Factory next door is the best pizza you'll ever eat. Staff were outrageously friendly. More hotel staff need to be like them. Genuinely cared about all guests. Showers were powerful which was sweet to wash away the sweat from the days hiking, as well as relaxing before bed. Beds were perfect for a nights sleep to reboot for the next day. Also, the pool was great outside.
Review 7:Nothing too significant. I'm not sure if the motel had lifts, but we had large suitcases and had to carry them up the stairs because I don't think there were lifts.
Review 8:Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean and free breakfast was great and had a lot of variety. The place is close to other food and shops, and free parking was also good.
Review 9:The dining room is small and not enough for all the pepole that came to eat breakfast but i found that this is the standard in all the hotels Ivisited in the US
Review 10:We needed a single page printed, a hiking permit. For the kind of money we spent on this hotel, I would have expected such a service, but the staff could not help us. Poor yoghurt/cereal selection and other healthy options.
Review 11:Nice and quiet location close to restaurants.
Review 12:Prices were jacked way, way up because it was summer holiday and close to Yosemite Park. Hard not to feel exploited.
Review 13:Reception staff were great - friendly and helpful. They directed us to a great restaurant where we had a superb meal. The rooms had everything you wanted and it was clean and everything worked.
Review 14:Staff extremely rude and unhelpful. Room dirty and not cleaned (I told about a sticky sweet packet from the last visitors in a drawer and it stayed there for all of our three night stay despite leaving the drawer open to be cleaned). Air conditioning unit is very noisy and clattered all night. A long drive from Yosemite.
Review 15:Lots of parking and free wifi was reliable. Breakfast was very basic but enough to fill you up.
Review 16:A huge ice cream truck with a very noisy refrigeration unit was parked outside our end of the motel on the first night, all evening and until about 05:00 the next morning. Not what you expect at an expensive motel !
Review 17:Stayed for four nights whilst visiting Yosemite. Located at the southern, old, end of town few minutes walks from restaurants etc. Huge well-appointed room with fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Very comfortable bed. A basic breakfast is served in a room by the pool.
Review 18:Price for what you get, but it was Memorial weekend near Yosemite. Staff told manager we had a dog in the room which we did not and this caused the manager to be mad and suspicious of us.
Review 19:For a Best Western, the breakfast seemed much better than usual, with a lot of variety, and the breakfast room was large clean and well cared for by the staff.
Review 20:Remember the 1980's? Well, stop here to remind yourself how it was. Plastic cutlery at breakfast - say no more. Down market (but not cheap)
Review 21:Not much. Almost the only hotel in a one horse town.
Review 22:They booked our room twice, and had strangers come in with the same key, never had that happen before, then we were locked out of our room twice? very poor management.
Review 23:breakfast was great, bottom room was convenient.
Review 24:No problems, but pity the pool wasn't open.
Review 25:An easy 1 hour drive into the Yosemite valley. A great fun little town, with the hotel in a handy location
Review 26:Very noisy fan in bathroom
Review 27:Food options in town. Comfortable beds Reasonable Breakfast Adjoining rooms provided as requested Friendly staff (especially at breakfast)
Review 28:Hot tub was closed for the winter! After a long day of hiking we needed it : (
Review 29:Front desk was super helpful, gave great local dining options, breakfast was good, breakfast attendant was amazing!!!!
Review 30:It was being refurbished so noisy at times. the door didnt quite seal properly so road noise and a draft came in easily. This is billed as a 'Plus' motel but really is of very standard quality- maybe the refurbishment will sort that out. Still an hour and a half's drive from Yosemite Valley.
Review 31:Clean room, free wifi, free breakfast and free parking, very friendly staff. Mariposa is a lovely town, really nice people and even a couple of breweries!
Review 32:Nothing at all
Review 33:The front desk lady is very nice and helpful, very nice talking with her. Room is clean, breakfast was nice, all day coffee and hot water. Good stay for travel to Yosemite, a about one hour driving.
Review 34:Staff tried to be accommodating but room wasn't ready when promised.
Review 35:This best western is in a really good location in a nice little town with good city services. There is ample parking, a decent breakfast provided and fairly quiet rooms.
Review 36:Chose this place due to proximately to Yosemite and arrived after a long drive from San Fran. Staff great with travel advice and dining options (Charles Street Diner - great). Rooms clean and all equipment working. Close to town so an easy walk everywhere. Enjoyed our brief stay and would recommend to others
Review 37:Not only the front office staff but the staff "manning" the breakfast were very friendly and eager to share special places to visit in the area. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was included. A great stay for the price.
Review 38:It was about 30miles away each way (but hotels inside the park would have cost us about $250 per night). I guess it was a fair trade off.
Review 39:I like the fact that the hotel is located at the edge of town. We arrived late and the BW hotel was the first one we saw. It was easy to find. The second is that it's located in Downtown Mariposa which for us translated to more choices of restaurants (Chinese, pizza, donuts, etc) and supermarkets (liquor store and Pioneer Market). Third, the staff was friendly as were the locals. Fourth, continental breakfast came in handy so we could just get up, eat and drive to the park.
Review 40:WiFi was terrible and the upper floor was accessible only by stairs, which was fun with our luggage. A bit pricey.
Review 41:The place was tidy and clean and right on our way to Yosemite.
Review 42:the smell of bleach was nauseating. didn't like that there was no table with lamp. Had to sit in bathroom to read my book.
Review 43:nice room. very clean my housekeeper was excellent. room was roomy. Bed was super comfy! would definitely stay here again.
Review 44:Only one little shampoo for the shower and no body lotion. Breakfast can be improved
Review 45:The staff is really kind. Room was nice. Good Internet. Se liked this place
Review 46:Location to get to Yosemite was a bit of a trek but worth it in the end.
Review 47:Go see Cootonwood Creek live music at Betts Gold Coin Bar. They are amazing, you feel like you have definitely come to the West! Food excellent. Oh yes the Best Western was in a Good location also.
Review 48:Walking up a flight of stairs with our car full of luggage. Small price to pay!
Review 49:Most of our time was spent outside the room. So when we returned at the end of the day it was clean, comfortable and very suitable. Breakfasts were fabulous too. Highly recommend best westerns. We are using them as much as we can on our travels.
Review 50:I booked from North Carolina and was dissapointed that the motel was not closer to Yosemite. The breakfast was the poorest of the hotels we stayed at on this trip. Otherwise, it was fine.
Review 51:The room was adequate.
Review 52:Like most other chain hotels you can hear noises from neighboring rooms and the parking lot, which does affect light sleepers like myself.
Review 53:This is a decent hotel similar to other Best Westerns. If you can handle the hair raising hour drive to Yosemite each way, its a good place to stay. Mariposa has some decent grocery and dining options.
Review 54:Only gripe was breakfast. I hate plastic knives and forks!!! I felt I was at a children's party and selection was awful.
Review 55:Staff brilliant. Couldn't be more helpful. Excellent zip wire day just 1 mile from this hotel. Only 55 mins to Yosemite redwood trees.
Review 56:Steep narrow outdoor stairs to room, difficult to get bags upstairs. The stair railings were also quite wobbly. Drain in shower didn't work- had to use a soap bar to keep it open. Shower knob didn't stay at desired temp- slowly moved and became hotter.
Review 57:Location is great. Close to Yosemite, walking path to shops downtown. Clean. Comfortable bed. We were only there to shower and sleep during a packed weekend, and it worked fine for that.
Review 58:Nothing to dislike really, it was just was we expected.
Review 59:Close to town facilities in Mariposa. We eat in a sports bar just up the road and the service/ food was excellent. Breakfast was great with plenty of tables/seating. My son loved the waffle maker.
Review 60:Breakfast was poor. If I recall correctly, they had paper plates and cutlery.
Review 61:Rooms nicely finished for a motel. Fairly spacious. Good beds. Our kids enjoyed a quick swim in the (tiny) pool in the morning.
Review 62:Minor quibbles: the free wifi was awful (as is the cellular service in the region) and the DirectTV service was spotty. It is about an hour's drive to the park, but it's a beautiful scenic drive, which makes up for the distance.
Review 63:If you don't fancy camping in YNP or paying the exorbitant rates at the park's hotels and lodges then Best Western Plus Mariposa is good bet. The breakfast was great -- lots of options. The staff were extremely friendly and the rooms were clean and quiet. Great mid-priced option not too far from the park.
Review 64:Breakfast Too old, needs refurbishment Expensive for waht it is, must be due to the location
Review 65:Bedroom size, friendly staff, swimming pool, ample parking
Review 66:Continental Breakfast isn't so good. The polis is small wast clean enough.
Review 67:The hotel is located 1hr and 15 min from the valley entry. Hotel located in marisopa. Marisopa is friendly for kids. Has a good pioneer market and family friendly restaurants like pizza factory and coin. The room was very good and staff friendly and helpful. There is a small gym for those who didn't get tired fr walking on Yosemite
Review 68:It's distance from the park entrance. Added at least forty minutes to the drive in and out.
Review 69:Rooms basic but clean. Lady on breakfast very pleasant and was an advantage having something to eat before heading into Yosemite.
Review 70:A little "overpriced", but in the high season not a "surprise".
Review 71:Friendly & helpfull staff, very complete excellent breakfast, spacious rooms, good beds, clean, cool, good parking. Did not use pool, but looked ok. Closeby a lot of dinner options. The hotel was the perfect spot for our 2 day visit to Yosemite. First day we did the valley, Glacier Point& Mariposa Grove, the loop via Oakhurst back to Mariposa BW was perfect. Second day we left from Mariposa BW to the Tioga pass, which was a good option too.
Review 72:Relatively loud rooms to the Street Side. Ask for rooms to the backBut as normal in High Season pricy for the standard. Breakfast for European Standards was not good netter go down the road to the Sugar Pine Diner
Review 73:The Hotel is in a good Location for visits to Yosemeti.
Review 74:Breakfast choices especially since I have to eat gluten free.
Review 75:The town of Mariposa is extremely convenient. One can find all needs there with great dining in walkable distance.
Review 76:nothing, everything was fantastic
Review 77:Everything from the room, facilities, staff. cannot fault anything
Review 78:Great location! Wonderful staff! Very comfortable room!
Review 79:Poor breakfast.
Review 80:Good location, friendly staff.
Review 81:Open bottle of beer on stairwell. It was there for 2 1/2 days.
Review 82:Facility clean and well maintained. . Staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 83:Not a big fan of the breakfast
Review 84:Excercise room. Wifi.
Review 85:room smelled badly
Review 86:The breakfast was poor and no butter for toast.
Review 87:On the whole the experience was superb
Review 88:No bad experience but a little far away from the main action.
Review 89:Nice rooms and easy to find. Staff were very helpful
Review 90:Not a bad experience but considering the drought we had requested not to have towels changed and they were changed anyway
Review 91:Overpriced for average room décor, sporadic Wi-Fi
Review 92:Walkable to town, good breakfast, helpful staff
Review 93:Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Close to everything...walk to shops and places to eat, fast food and great dinners. Easy access to Yosemite.
Review 94:Breakfast very poor!
Review 95:The value for money is not acceptable!
Review 96:Very high price for what it was Terrible breakfast Noisy
Review 97:helpful staff, clean room
Review 98:Very poor breakfast...
Review 99:Location is a short walk from restaurants and shops in charming downtown Mariposa...and a 70 minute drive up the Merced River to Yosemite Valley.
Review 100:Good place to stay for visiting Yosemite National Park.
Review 101:Very clean and comfortable hotel. Nice swimming pool
Review 102:All of the staff were excellent.
Review 103:The location of this hotel was great. Even being an hour outside Yosemite, it was still worth it. Room was clean, inviting and well decorated.
Review 104:The hotel is over-priced.
Review 105:Location convenient to the Yosemite Park entrance. Mariposa is a cute little Sierra Foothills town.
Review 106:Good location outside Yosemite park (42 mls). Friendly staff and nice eating places close bye.
