Reviews for Sanibel Inn

Review 1:Booking.com has done this too often- you rent and pay for one type of room, only to find those rooms aren't available. Not happy at all w/ what we were given (and we checked in on time.) Bedroom situated w/ window overlooking outdoor area where other porches, steps, hall walkways & parking lots are, so the noise kept us awake at all hours. Our room was filthy- dirty bathroom floor, hair all over shower and bed, glass wear looked unwashed. We never did get our room cleaned and the dirty linens from other units sat outside the doors for 2 days in plastic bags. Carpet smells moldy. Not enough room at pool area for the people they had booked at the place, and forget the tiki bar and food altogether. We gave up after an hour and a half of waiting for our order. Very poor management here. Would never come back.

Review 2:Ability to take out kayaks, SUPs, lounge chairs. Beach nice and clean but not what we expected (soft, sandy, big.)

Review 3:Housekeeping did not refresh room daily; king size bed with tiny standard size pillows which were flat and uncomfortable. Tiki Bar drinks overpriced, better to BYOB.

Review 4:Easy beach access, use of bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. at no extra charge.

Review 5:There was nothing not to like. If I was being picky I would say that a little music around the pool area would be nice. Also, Sanibel's resorts and restaurants are very expensive!

Review 6:Enjoyed the beautiful beach, friendly and helpful staff, the amenities like kayaking and paddle boarding, and the very comfortable two bedroom apartment. Sanibel Island is a small, quiet place, no night life. It's just a place to unwind and relax. Perfect for families! Great inn!

Review 7:Lack of staff. Long wait for breakfast due to only one server for allguests. Also room which we paid premium wasn't even cleaned due tolack of staff. I blame management for not having enough to staff whenthey knew the holiday would be filled with guests, but still chargedhigh rates for holiday. I also thought the room was shabby, the room airconditioner leaked smelly liquid onto our outdoor porch which wecouldn't use. I would never recommend this hotel.

Review 8:Staff was limited due to Christmas holiday, but full with guests. Whatstaff was there tried their best.

Review 9:Friendly, professional hospitality. We didn't have one negative moment from the time we checked in until the sad day of departure. We were waited on hand and foot. We ate lunch and had drinks at the Tiki Bar, awesome. Chris, Matt and Cenu were very helpful at the beach, setting up chairs and giving kayak and paddle board instruction. Great vacation!! We will return!!

Review 10:very expensive and very small swimming pool. Other resorts have a muche better value for money

Review 11:Great location with beautiful beachfront Very good restaurant

Review 12:The units themselves have become a bit shabby. Frayed carpet, small fridge in bad need of defosting. Cramped bathroom - old looking. Housekeeping was slow.

Review 13:Location. Great beach access. Easy to find.

Review 14:This facility has made tremendous progress over last years. They are quite helpful! And they accepted to offer us an extension of the check out time to accomodate our trip schedule back to Europe.

Review 15:Would like more outside seating around the resort to sit at while walking to enjoy the scenery

Review 16:Loved the quite laid back feeling ! Beautifully landscaped

Review 17:Restaurant not at all beach-oriented...need to update restaurant.

Review 18:Great staff, especially at the beach hut to check out towels, etc. Great amenities included in price, like bikes, chairs, umbrellas, kayak and paddle board! Rooms close to pool and beach.

Review 19:Minor issue - A little more attention to cleanliness around pool, Weeds in pavers, napkins on ground.

Review 20:Appreciated the kayak, paddle boards and bikes. Beautiful and Well maintained grounds. Attentive staff.

Review 21:We were promised (and paid for one king, but got 2 queens. Maybe they don't even have kings?) Terrible sand flea bites. Had to get a prescription for prednisone when I returned home - the itching was unbearable.

Review 22:The swimming pool area was very nice. And overall, there is a quaint, old Sanibel feel to the place. I was pretty happy until we drove around the island and saw where we could have been staying!

Review 23:There were small ants in the kitchen and had to store everything in refrigerator. The door to bedroom made a lot of noise when opened. The guest bedroom window let so much light in that it seemed that a light was on in the room

Review 24:The location to gulf and pool were great.

Review 25:I thought for the money and the ocean view promised, we would of gotten an ocean view. Our balcony, if we would sit down, you couldn't see anything. When I upgraded, I didn't really get anything for my upgrade.

Review 26:Restaurant, cleanliness of place.

Review 27:Can you adjust the humidity ;-) haha just kidding! Only thing I might suggest is some music at the pool for a little ambience.

Review 28:Loved everything. Staff was amazing (Tracey, Cassie). Facilities were great. My wife lived on Sanibel for 15 years and her mother lives here. We stayed at the Sanibel inn for a vacation-in-a-vacation while the kids stayed with grandma. Loved every minute.

Review 29:It was a mileading offer because we booked a "2 queen or kingbedroom for 4" and there is no room with two king beds (and no roomwith king bed for four at all). We were four adults with 1 children andthe resort permits sleeping in the same bed for children under 12, butit was impossible to do that in a queen bed. We didn't know thatuntil we arrived at 9 pm, so we had to pay the difference for a condowith two bedrooms. After speaking with a not so polite manager and thehostess from bookings, blaming each other for the mistake, for about 45min, the manager offered us to stay in the condo for the same price wehave paid.

Review 30:It is a quiet and beautiful beach resort with amenities included such asKayak, paddleboard, bicycles with a friendly staff. The beachespectacular and very close to the buildings. Pool needs refurbishing.

Review 31:We enjoyed having, kayaks , paddle boards, bicycles, beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas provided . Pool was spacious and staff was very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.

Review 32:worst value for money we have seen. very expensive. quality of house keeping is dubious: doors and handles are sticky. worn out bed, noisy and bad functioning air conditioning. equipment at the grounds like chairs and tables at the pool do not seem to be maintained at all. for the price you pay you would expect something else than a sticky chair and a table where paint is coming off in the pool area.

Review 33:beach facilities are good.

Review 34:it included no meal plans, maybe a continental breakfast?

Review 35:I like that price included kayaks, paddle boards, bikes , beach chairs, towels. Room was excellent. Staff was great!

Review 36:We ate breakfast at the restaurant,I found the food to be poorly made and the waitress was very unpleasant.

Review 37:We had a wonderful time. The free biking, knee boarding were fun. We went bike-riding, used the canoe. Everyone was friendly and nice.

Review 38:Pool area very old , they could update chairs , tables , painting

Review 39:Rooms nice but not very clean , they need more detail under the bed and near the curtains

Review 40:Would like the bikes available earlier around 7am and extend until dusk.

Review 41:We liked the available bikes and beach location. Always ate breakfast in our room.

Review 42:We loved the view of the ocean during the day and the sound of the ocean at night while relaxing on the private screened in patio.

Review 43:We really enjoyed the quietness of this resort packed away off the beaten path.

Review 44:We got here on Friday the room looked wonderful. But nobody came in on Saturday to fix the bed or give us fresh towels.we left Sunday and never saw anybody. Asked for a late check out the front desk advised that they would check and call us and leave a message if we were not in the room. Never heard from the front desk. So when we checkout they asked why we weren't using the late checkout. I said nobody ever called us to tell us we had it.

Review 45:The ac in the Unit was on the entire time and the maintenance staff wastalking at 6 am about where they needed to be at 7:45 outside of ourroom... That was a bummer as my 4 year old heard it and was like... Timeto get up!

Review 46:Loved the front desk.. Steven and eric? Loved the spaciousness of theapt. Bike use. Beach access Beach amenities The Cleaning staff was verycool... And helpfull.

Review 47:Bar service::: not so friendly! Maybe offer rafts for the ocean!

Review 48:The beach was relaxing, millions of shells, beach chairs provided!!!!!! Beautiful water and free water sports! I'll be back soon!

Review 49:Our air condition dripped water into carpet causing a musty smell. Fire alarm at 3:30am interrupted sleep.

Review 50:Our room was clean and comfortable. The ocean view was great. Accommodations for the beach was outstanding. Happy hour at the tiki hut was nice.

Review 51:Tub was slow to drain

Review 52:Love the spacious rooms, easy beach access and chairs on the beach and ready in the morning. Great extras included such as free bikes, paddle, boards, and kayaks that make it easy to have a great time.

Review 53:The whole pkg! The comfort, atmosphere, the staff, the services the innoffers to the guest (towel, chair & umbrella...set up for you by thefriendly staff, paddle boards, bikes & kayaks...AWESOME!

Review 54:Booking.com said "Ocean Front View" Confused resort. They have "Ocean Front" rooms (best) & "Ocean View" rooms. Of course, resort wanted to put us in "Ocean View" room. I had to insist on the better "Ocean Front" room. They complied, but traveler should not have to go through such stress on a vacation.

Review 55:Eesort Amenities

Review 56:Everything! The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The screened balcony offered great views of the resort, the pool and the Gulf. The grounds were lovely. There were enough amenities that we could have never left, with recreation, rest and food all onsite. Loved the complimentary New York Times!

Review 57:Outdoor bar arena needs updating as well as restaurant and indoor bar, we saw it and choose not to eat there.

Review 58:Friendly staff & clean, room was updated and very comfortable.

Review 59:air conditioning ran all the time with a wet/damp cool feel & did not really cool the bedroom adequately and the air conditioning did not reach the bathroom.

Review 60:beds were comfortable, room was clean

Review 61:Check in. Staff was not efficient. Arrived at 11:00 am. Told us we would get hotel In a while. 5:00 check in still no call. 5:15 aStill no call very aggravating.

Review 62:The on-site restuarnt and food service was very average. I would recommend a larger selection of fresh fruit/vegetable options to the typical sandwiches and burger selections with fries.

Review 63:The beach and maid staff were amazing - very polite and attentive. I also liked the availability of beach chairs/umbrellas, kyacks and paddleboards. It made for a very enjoyable stay.

Review 64:I picked a king bed but when we arrived we were given a room with 2 queen beds. According to my reservation it said either king or 2 queen, however on your website I chose king - when I called to adjust the price, I repeated king and no one corrected me or emphasized that I probably would NOT get a king. The Sanibel staff explained to me that because all but two or three of the rooms in the price given on booking.com were queen beds. I think you advertised incorrectly on your site. It was not the resort.

Review 65:The ocean and walking on the beach. I was looking forward to trying kayaking, but the water was

Review 66:We requested king bed had to settle for 2 queens. Room was very small and could hardly walk around bed to get to door. Very poor housekeeping--our room was never cleaned until 4:00 or later. Very small pool with no shade or even umbrellas for lounge chairs.

Review 67:Beautiful beach, free use of bikes, kayaks, paddle boards.

Review 68:Bar area by the pool needs a little remodeling done. Limited selections there.

Review 69:All extra items (bikes, tennis, kayak) was included in resort fee. Perfect location on the island. Service was friendly.

Review 70:Being so close to the water. Casual but very accommodating environment. Loved being able to see and hear the Gulf from our room, sit out on the screened porch before heading out for our day. Great Tiki bar, loved the bikes, friendly staff!!

Review 71:Requested a king bed and got 2 queens instead. Cleaning staff would enter room when we were in there (happened twice to me). Checkout was painful as they only had one computer working.

Review 72:The beach itself was amazing! The shelling was fantastic on this beach.

Review 73:The rooms were very basic. They smelt damp. Breakfast not included and the restaurant was dated and lacked atmosphere.

Review 74:The location was fantastic. The free equipment hire was great. The pool was good.

Review 75:Service at lunch/bar was not good. Seemed short staffed. Only ate there once because of it.

Review 76:Location was perfect. Beach chairs and umbrella service was very nice. Housekeeping very consistent.

Review 77:Additional resort fee, plastic cups in the room. Stale coffee. Very slow daily room cleaning service. Our room didn't get cleaned even after 3pm.

Review 78:Excellent location on the island. Gulf front view.

Review 79:- Quite expensive place, but they are all expensive on Sanibel

Review 80:- Fantastic location on the beach, easy access to the activities on Sanibel Island. - The hotel provides beach towels and there are bicycles available.

Review 81:The room had a musty smell; no utensils (cutlery, small dishes) in the kitchen area even though a Kuerig coffee machine, microwave and small fridge are provided. The only chair was right beside the airconditioner, which made it impossible to use (no where else to put it). There was only one towel rack by the sink, so towels were piled on top of one another. Considering the price of the room, it was small and really nothing special. Furniture on the balcony wasn't very comfortable.

Review 82:The Inn is a small complex of 2 story buildings set back from the beach. Grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the beach front is gorgeous. Every room has a screened in balcony with a view of the Gulf. For a daily fee of $20.00 bikes, kyacks, beach towels, chairs, and morning paper are provided. Staff are very friendly and helpful, quiet atmosphere.

Review 83:Wifi was very spotty, but they will shortly be upgrading.

Review 84:Perfect 2 bdrm apt for 2 couples. Beautiful beach. Chairs & umbrellas transported to the beach for us. Good restaurant on premises & many more to choose from. Bikes provided, can bike to everything. Great pool & tiki bar. Plentiful free parking.

Review 85:Furnishings a little shabby for the price of room per night. Mattress was a little too soft.

Review 86:The location right on the beach . The pool area was nice. The staff were wonderful.

Review 87:The oven in our first apartment didn't,t work, and was a bit shabby, but we were given chance to move into the suite next door which was much smarter and recently painted.

Review 88:As above. Price of rooms included free access to bikes, tennis courts, paddle boards.

Review 89:The restaurant - menu uninspired and food mediocre.

Review 90:Love the closeness to the beach, beautiful pool and landscaping. Rooms clean, nicely appointed. Staff was great, especially Jason, who went above and beyond to help us the morning we checked out. The Tiki Bar was so much fun.

Review 91:Ants in the kitchen. Paint is used to cover up the need for upgrading furniture and appliances. Maintenance and cleaning of room needs to be organized for better efficiency and comfort of guests.

Review 92:Location is very good. The screened in deck is very roomy and helps with the inevitable sprawl of a family on vacation. Shelling on the beach is very good, but I am not sure I would want to swim there when the weather permits.

Review 93:Microwave, freezer filthy. Floor buckling in kitchen. Furnishings old. Rust stains on deck. Did not get a "bang" for my buck. Would not return.

Review 94:Staff friendly. Rooms clean.

Review 95:Our corner location was surrounded by people coming and going, golf carts and cars on one side and path to the beach and pool on the other.

Review 96:Walking to the beach, the Gulf view both great, but the warm buoyant pool was the big hit on a day that started chilly and windy. Even better, the pool bar had ice cold Red Stripe and hot, fresh nachos. Heavenly!

Review 97:The king size bed was old and uncomfortable. It made enough noise to wake me every time my husband rolled over.

Review 98:Our two bedroom suite was spacious and light. The grounds were well kept and the whole complex felt uncrowded even though the rooms were completely full.

Review 99:The only think that we could complain about was the lighting. They need to install brighter bulbs in the tub area and the entry hall.

Review 100:We liked everything but if we go back next year, we will probably rent a condo to have a bigger kitchen.

Review 101:cleaning staff maintained unit well, but unit furniture was weather worn & unit smelled very musty, like an old basement. Know resort is on water but for the cost, guests should expect freshened, inviting indoor units. microwave not work, windows not maintained well-staff did fix.

Review 102:Most aspects of resort were excellent; shoreline, outdoor equipment, bikes, chairs, etc. Very clean outdoors; polite, friendly employees.

Review 103:WIFI spotty No one offered to help with luggage; we navigated steps

Review 104:On the Gulf with a view Comfy bed Friendly staff Large room and bathroom Ample toiletries

Review 105:Breakfast not included for price No kitchenette, (we would have brought our own electric kettle/proper coffee maker and dishes/silverware to use....however they did supply the latter when we asked)....This would have made our stay Perfect!!

Review 106:Screened in balcony to sit Location perfect Free bikes Swimming pool Security lockers Friendly, efficient Private, quiet, clean Small but good Refrigerator

Review 107:1. No kitchen utensils - no cups for coffee. 2. Could not get the coffee machine to work. 3. Had to have staff reset safe two different times. 4. Leaking AC unit - water on balcony - safety hazard.

Review 108:View. Daily paper Helpful friendly staff

Review 109:The Inn is beautiful. The staff eager to help: directions, suggestions for restaurants and shopping. They were so very pleasant and engaging. The access to the beach was a lovely wooden path which created a serene, natural feeling. Looking back at the Inn's buildings, the landscaping was natural and lush. The Blue Heron Suite was well appointed in decor and comfort. I hope to return soon...

Review 110:We would have liked a soap dish next to the bathroom sink to place the hand soap. Putting it on the sink is not sanitary in our opinion. We were surprised to see that the bathroom had no exhaust fan. Opening the window helped but the floor was still moist and was slippery. Caution was the focus.

Review 111:My cousin and I loved the view and the friendliness of the staff. The setting over all was great!

Review 112:Continual off and on of loud air conditioner - freezing or warm, made sleeping erratic. Staff was very slim and often people were waiting for desk assistance to return in order to checkout, or to answer your phone call, or outside to check towels out and in.

Review 113:Excellent location and beautiful view of beach. Bikes were nice addition. Comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels, good breakfast available in restaurant there. Lounge chairs on the beach with umbrella is terrific.

Review 114:Noisy air conditioner that cooled but rattled and kept us awake. Staff slow to clean room and replace towels so we could shower after the beach.

Review 115:Steps from the ocean. Lovely pool and grounds. Fun pool-side bar and grill. Friendly servers indoors and out. Unexpectedly good food at the indoor restaurant.

Review 116:There were no sheets for the pullout bed, there was only one dinner plate in the kitchen, there were not enough towels in the bathroom and no dishcloth or dish towel in the kitchen.

Review 117:The location and pool were great.

Review 118:Maybe a bit bigger pool and area

Review 119:I would highly recommend this resort.they were very nice and helpful. If you needed anything it was handled quickly. I liked the cafe on site.i liked that bikes kayak were available. That beach umbrella towels and chairs were also available. It is a quiet relaxing atmosphere enjoyed my stay immensely.

Review 120:We had a wonderful mini-vacation at the Sanibel Inn which is right on the beach. The room was spacious and has great amenities including a little mini-kitchen, lots of fresh towels and linens. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the view was great. We will definitely be back. Can't wait!

Review 121:Whole facility very outdated...needs refurbishing. Hotwater heater broken in room had to change rooms to a condo unit that was very outdated and bed was uncomfortable.

Review 122:Staff - very friendly and accomodating.

Review 123:That i left stuff in a drawer and forgot it...had to call for it to be mailed back to me...havent gotten it back yet.....:(

Review 124:very clean, beautiful beach way and pool area....very much enjoyed our stay..The Office staff are wonderful...Peter was a great help to us...:)

Review 125:The facilities close at 5pm, no air conditioning in the bathroom, very loud air conditioning which made it impossible to sleep through the night, the bathroom was not clean, the pool was not clean. We booked an ocean view room but received a pool view room. We will never return to this hotel.

Review 126:The location and staff

Review 127:Television did not work properly, commode broke, screen in porch so hot with the room air conditioner exposed to the porch this was unusable. Room service slow. Location was poor, requested beach view not able to really see the view as folige blocked it.

Review 128:Beach front

Review 129:Mixup with the room reservation...staff could have been more accommodating in switching rooms. After awhile we were given a nice room...check in time is 4:00 and they are not too flexible in getting you in earlier.

Review 130:The facilities were very nice and comfortable. The room was very nice and had a nice view of the Gulf.

Review 131:Might be prudent to bring along a beach umbrella and a couple of chairs.

Review 132:The location was great with a beautiful entrance. We were welcomed and given a beautiful suite that face the ocean. There is a short walkway over the dunes to get onto the beach (where you'll find lots of small shells, starfish, and sand dollars. The room and pool were very clean and comfortable. THe employees were always helpful and friendly. Bikes, kayaks, beach umbrellas (just a few) with chairs were available. We had a great time!

Review 133:Housekeeping supplies were on the poor side and I also found 3 bugs in my bed. We had to use our own toilet paper and ask for an additional set of towels. The lady at the tiki bar was MIA half the time. I never did get service there.

Review 134:I took my wife to Sanibel because it was her 60th birthday present. Her two favorite things are gardening & finding shells on the beach. We had a room overlooking the Gulf. Room was very clean & comfortable. My wife was on the beach from sunrise to sundown, & brought an extra suitcase with her that she filled with hundreds of the most outrageous seashells she ever found. Restaurants on the island were wonderful. I played golf every morning. Two course right on the island, one is affiliated with the hotel, both very reasonably priced. We both loved the place, & would go back there in a heartbeat.

Review 135:Only problem we encountered was the tub drain was a little slow, but after notifing the front desk problem was resolved.

Review 136:I liked that we could see the pool and ocean from our room. Also free bikes and one 2 man kayak available and free beach towels and umbrellas. Almost everywhere else on the island charges. Our room was very nice and had a refrigerator. We were also on the top floor so no overhead noise. Very clean and comfortable, staff even sweep the sand away from your front door from the beach!

Review 137:Very clean, well maintained property with extras such as bicycles, beach towels, chairs and kayaking included. Patios screened in and just a wonderful place to relax.
