Review 1：Location - on main road - difficult to go out of cottages and away from PMB amenities. The suburb 'township' unsettling.

Review 3：The hospitality was disgusting to say the least, rude, arrogant behavior. I have never experienced such in all my traveling. There was even a physical fight with the owners! Imagine just hooligans!

Review 4：Quietness and prompt service rendered as well as neatness of rooms send the message of being in the right place which is refreshing and adds more vim in the visitor.

Review 5：Noisy area - dogs barked all night Far away from everything - 10 km drive along highway to nearest recommended (by host) restaurant. Fair distance out of town. Not worth the drive for a fairly mediocre and uninteresting garden/ suburb. Driveway is bizarre - very steep slope, but intercom not accessible so forced to stop on very steep slope and get out to access intercom. In/ out access not great through steep driveway.

Review 9：Monica and her staff were friendly and helpful all the time. They accommodated all of my requests. If any of my friends were to visit Pietermaritzburg I would recommend the cottage within a heart beat.

Review 11：Lincoln Cottages is good value self catering. My apartment was spacious, clean and quiet in a good area on the outskirts of PMB. It's near a supermarket so you can stock up on your provisions.The wi-fi is good enough for internet and Spotify. Friendly owners and staff.

Review 13：Very cosy rooms, neat and comfortable. A well equipped kitchen and cute lounge (open plan). Ideal for small family and for extended stay. My family and I really loved it.

Review 16：We stayed in the cottage attached to the main house. When the bath was running in the main house there was no water in the cottage. At one point on Saturday evening we heard raised voices in the main house and there was a baby that cried periodically - this in itself is not an issue but important for you to know that sound does travel through the closed door between the two sections of the house. The oven door does not close properly.

Review 17：Great communication from the staff. They kept us well informed. We slept well but the mattress wasn't great. The apartment is very clean but gives the impression of being old.

Review 49：Typical South Africa, electricity kept going off and somehow almost spoiled our holiday. It would be excellent if there was an electricity backup system. Imagine you were on a bank transaction using wi-fi. All the data would have been lost. I also believe wi-fi signal can also be improved as was very limited as to how far you can go with your device.

Review 50：Property is well secured with remote controlled gates. They have a cleaner daily - who was also very friendly and warm hearted. Made us feel at home. The property is very child friendly too - excellent for all visitor types. Very friendly, supportive and warm hosts. When the electricity went off, the hosts did provide with a braai stand, a gas cooker, lamps and few candles - at no cost to us. They even offered to refrigerate some or the items from our fridge. Residence is not far from local shopping malls as well as fuel stations.
