Reviews for The Victorian Inn
Review 1:Thin wall made room noisy, you could hear coughing, etc. Overpiced. $200 a night for a small barebones basement room. They also added on a $16 "resort fee" for a small outdoor hot tub placed between 2 buildings and a shed. Not the hotel's fault but the taxes are really piled on: State, City and 2 County taxes plus an "airline excise tax?" (we drove)
Review 2:Very close to Gondola. Good breakfast.
Review 3:The walls seemed paper thin. It was very noisy and the staff even left ear plugs for us. I am not sure if the issue was our particular room, right next to the stairs, or if all rooms are that noisy. The free parking was more of a first come, first serve, so I don't think it would accommodate if the hotel was fully booked.
Review 4:The location is ideal. It is only a few blocks to the gondola and lifts. In addition, restaurants and bars are all within walking distance. The homemade cinnamon buns at breakfast were probably my favorite thing about the hotel.
Review 5:Rooms are very basic, walls are thin, the lower level rooms are very dark and a hassle to get to (you have to walk outside around the entire building). Breakfast was unimpressive and the coffee was pretty bad.
Review 6:Great location, very affordable, friendly staff.
Review 7:Once in a while heard water running what seemed down the exterior wall
Review 8:How clean new paint very nice room for an older building owners doing all to make it look good
Review 9:Staff was pretty apathetic. The "breakfast" in the morning was pretty dismal. Telluride is a very expensive place, so it's hard to find a good value in town. Any place else and this would have been a much less expensive hotel.
Review 10:Great location, we watched the gondola from our window. Just a couple of walks to the main street on one side and the gondola on the other. Upgrading to a corner room with windows and a view was worth it. The cheaper rooms would have been more like a motel 6.
Review 11:However, walls are paper thin. On the first night we had to deal with noisy neighbors until 4am. We asked them to be quiet with little cooperation. You could hear most hotel guests clopping along the outdoor passageway next to your room. Breakfast was skimpy in a tiny breakfast room. On our first day, we politely asked for more coffee, but it took 15 minutes for more to be made. A young worker from eastern Europe about lost it when we inquired about the coffee. I am a retired teacher and have never acted like that in my classroom nor have I seen this kind of behavior at other hotels. I really wanted to like this place!
Review 12:We had a pleasant spacious room with two queen beds on the 2nd floor which had a terrific view. The hotel is well maintained and in a great location, close to everything. The gondola is a short 5 minute walk.
Review 13:no air conditioning, not much parking, very outdated, no room for breakfast not much choice, very expensive for what it was, very loud, they give you ear plugs on the night stand because you have to sleep with the windows open, not the kind of hotel that I am used to for the price
Review 14:close to the gondola
Review 15:Room for breakfast too small for the number of people and limited choice. Rooms felt basic but good as a base and clean.
Review 16:Located in the town centre so everything was within easy access. Good local information given in the room.
Review 17:parking! Also the climb to the third floor. At that elevation and my age it was hard to make many trips to the room.
Review 18:near the places we wanted to visit
Review 19:A little uncomfortable sitting in reception to have breakfast - not enough tables, so felt we had to eat fast and move on. Not leisurely.
Review 20:Location, cosy cottage at the back was excellent
Review 21:Great location, off the main street a little, so quiet after PM. Clean rooms, no mold in showers, nice beds, and friendly staff. A great price in Telluride. Paid twice as much up the hill in the Village. NO RESORT FEES!!!
Review 22:Our room (#101) was directly below the office & breakfast area as well as next to the main door. Noisey!! Also, breakfast is all carbs, no protein so we passed.
Review 23:Cute (small) room, nice location.
Review 24:The suite we stayed in had a window facing the stairwell, the two window feature of the room wasn't totally worth it.
Review 25:The staff was full of energy and very polite. It was really close to the gondola and a perfect location to get to the main street.
Review 26:The wifi was unfortunately hardly existing. Only at certain hours you would get a very slow connection.
Review 27:The location was just perfect. Close to downtown and just nextdoor to the gondolas. We were happy to get a parking place next to the building.
Review 28:This was a great location in Telluride. We were in a room set up for handicapped people and all the stuff was in the way. There was a nice laundry facility, the bed was comfortable.
Review 29:the parking is challenging, but we got lucky and generally found spots Wish we had a refrigerator and microwave in our room, which is always nice for leftovers.
Review 30:the courtyard right outside our room was magical. We loved the location...walked to everywhere! Loved the uniqueness and history of the building. Everyone was cheerful & helpful. The gourmet breakfasts were divine...the bed was comfortable and the linens were great!
Review 31:The staff was very friendly and helpful, giving us tips on where to park to avoid paying meters. Easy walking distance to the gondola, downtown shops and restaurant. The Inn itself is clean, cute, and comfy.
Review 32:No mention that renovations were happening, workmen painting and banging. Would not have been impressed if we'd paid full price and not known about this.
Review 33:Bang in centre, lovely rooms, room offer with last minute booking. Free upgrade due to rennovation work. Great staff. Decent breakfast choice.
Review 34:The eason didnt begin till later in May.Me and a friend walked down in the middel of Colorado ave at nite Abut 930 at night nobody out . it was so cool.
Review 35:The bed wasn't to comfotable.Air conditioning would have been nice as the noise outside due construction in the area made impossible to keep my window open at night.
Review 36:The hottub was nice. It was walking distance to everything in town. I also liked the shampoo and conditioner dispenser in the shower with the heat lamp.
Review 37:Small room, basic breakfast. Expensive considering this, but this is more a reflection on Telluride being more pricey than other resorts.
Review 38:Great location a block from the gondola.
Review 39:Breakfast coffee out of papercups
Review 40:Not only ski lifts are within walkingdistance. Also town center with bars and shops is only a couple of feet away. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean.
Review 41:We were assigned a room in the basement, so there were no views whatsoever. Pick a room on the upper floors, even though it's harder to get your luggage there as there are no elevators. When we got into the room we saw earplugs on the night tables. Next morning we knew why: the noise of ski boots coming down the stairs can be quite loud!
Review 42:We stayed at the Victorian Inn for a short ski vacation. Unbeatable location in the town, just two block from the gondola that takes you to Mountain Village. The place is cozy, well decorated and included continental breakfast is a plus. If you go on a ski vacation, you definitely don't need a car. Just take the shuttle from Montrose to Telluride. That's it!
Review 43:The heating didn't work...the room was locked at 59 degrees and wouldn't warm up. On the weekend of an arctic freeze, this made things uncomfortable. The wifi didn't work at all. Tried on 3 different devices and no luck. The room windows need drapes - even though there are blinds, the drapes will make the room feel more luxurious. Hot water took a while to warm up and the large containers of shampoo, etc do not make for a luxurious component.
Review 44:The bed was so comfortable and the location was perfect. Decent views and an ok selection at breakfast...staff were friendly, but not overly helpful
Review 45:So noisy don't plan on sleeping. Ear plugs are a joke I couldn't believe they were really there after reading the other reviews but there they were. If you want to sleep go elsewhere
Review 46:It was clean
Review 47:Great location w/in walking distance to downtown and the free gondola/lift tick booth. No worries about parking. Very comfortable bed and wifi was fast.
Review 48:Very close to sidewalk, during high season, might be noisy- was in a ground level room
Review 49:Very, very friendly and kind staff. Clean and comfortable room
Review 50:mattresses were a little bit worn and mushy, the walls a bit thin, the compact fridge didn't have a freezer
Review 51:cleanliness, the fact that furnishings (and towels, toilet paper, etc.) were all of good quality, the use of cleaning supplies that did not leave a strong smell (I am very sensitive to odors), location very good, wifi quality was excellent, employees friendly
Review 52:Due to the age of the building - poor air flow. Only way to cool the room was to leave the door open...Not good if you're trying to sleep & keep secure.
Review 53:The views and location to Main St. - awesome.
Review 54:Parking is a problem after 10am. We had to leave Telluride because of that. The breakfast consisted of small muffins, dried up oatmeal cooked in a crock pot, orange juice and coffee. Awful. Would expect more for the money.
Review 55:The location. The place was clean.
Review 56:Close to town my rm was close to street noisy people all night long on Sat but not the Inns pb.
Review 57:Clean spacious convenient great coffee and continental breakfast
Review 58:No pool dirty hot tub and breakfast food very poor . No parking for big vehicles
Review 59:Wonderful location close to gondola and pretty scenery across from a rustic church
Review 60:It's NOT a B&B... It's a recycled, over-priced motel. To be fair, the room was perfectly clean, but no air conditioning on a very hot night in July. Breakfast? Cheerios in a paper bowl and coffee in a paper cup. C'mon! $185 for the Motel-6 experience! Rip-off rates for a mis-represented accommodation. Far below expectations for an up-scale town like Telluride.
Review 61:The room was hot and only had a window fan that was not strong enough to bring in the cooler air from outside. The breakfast was not served until 7:30 am.
Review 62:The Hotel was clean and had comfortable beds, it was close to the downtown and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 63:We paid and extra person fee of $70 with tax so or family of 5 could stay. $70 is a lot of a kid to sleep on cot that we brought ourselves.
Review 64:Great place and accommodations but...
Review 65:slippery walkway small breakfast area and no common lounge
Review 66:location close to the gondola convenient to main st
Review 67:Noise in room prevented any sleep.

Review 75:The location was perfect and the atmosphere of the hotel was very cozy.
Review 76:reads like a B&B but just a run down hotel.

Review 98:Room in basement with no open window
Review 99:Breakfast & friendly staff
Review 100:No protein for breakfast.
Review 101:Oatmeal and pastries. Location and ease of parking. Pillows were good
Review 102:Too much light outside room and marginal breakfast
Review 103:Location
